Fantastic restaurant, all courses ordered were flawless, friendly service and well priced, definitely worth it. Steak is divine and perfectly prepared sauces also great. The only downside is that it is in a Mall food court, but when you sit inside you kind of forget you are in the middle of a mall. Well done to Management, keep it up, we will definitely be back.

Rare is a go to steakhouse. The service is always amazing and the steak cuts on par. My favourite part is the complimentary marrow bone on each plate. It gets me all excited.

My companion and I have been wanting to try Rare out for quite some time and decided a birthday celebration would be the perfect ocassion.
Rare can accommodate a lot of people. The area we sat in had 18 tables and that wasn't even the half of It.
The decor is very nice and typical of a steakhouse. The vibe is very nice even though we were there late afternoon/early evening and it was still very quiet.
Our server, Nicholas, was on hand at all times. He was very polite, friendly and willing.
My companion ordered a bacon, avo & feta medium rare 200g sirloin which came with a side of chips. The steak was cooked to perfection and very tender. The strawberry milkshake my companion ordered was also very good.
I ordered the calamari with chips and creamed spinach. The spinach could have done with an extra wash but it certainly was not unpleasant. The calamari was really, really tasty. It had a creamy sauce with it.
The prices are not unreasonable. For the above with 2 additional cold drinks and the tip it came to R472.
It was a lovely birthday dinner.
Nice steaks, pleasant decor, and good service so we would definitely go back again. My only gripe was that my steak was overdone for medium rare, more like a medium well
We visited this modern vibey spot on Sunday for lunch with Family and were pleasantly suprised. a Small detail that we all appreciated is that the waiter brought the kiddies' food an drinks first. The food was flavousome. Steaks were cooked excellently. All in all, a good visit!

I had the best steak I’ve eaten in ages! I ordered the 200g medium fillet with blue cheese sauce and baked potato.
DH ordered a Portuguese burger... it was perfectly well cooked for him and was very tasty... love that they clearly make their own burgers.

No complains about the new steakhouse in town. Great food, love the ambience as well as the friendly staff. My husband ordered the oxtail and was a bit on the cold side. The manager immediately got it fixed and apologized profusely. Great wine and cocktail selection. Will be visiting there soon again :)
Food was fabulous. Service a little lacking. I am always up for trying something new. To be honest I was more impressed by Beast in Honeydew.
I hate mall restaurants .......now that that's out of the way. This is a really nice restaurant great menu selection some interesting choices. Decent selection of wines. On a Wednesday night you can pretend it's not in a mall and the food is not that bad. Service is great and ambiance even better.
Steaks were cooked nicely, perhaps for the price you pay you could include sides in the price. Service was good and all together was a very nice evening with my girlfriend. Perhaps a bit pricy compared to other steakhouses.
Breakfast buffet selection was absolutely amazing. There was a wide variety of food. The service was top class our waiter Sihle was phenomenal and went above and beyond 😊👌🏼
Had a birthday lunch for my aunt there, and I can safely state it's my 2nd favourite steakhouse thus far. The food was lovely, all my family members were satisfied, the service was 💯, the staff were relaxed and friendly - AND it was on a Sunday so we pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves because it was quiet. 😊
Brought my family here for their buffet breakfast. Fantastic spread to cater for all appetites and dietary requirements. The coffee was wonderful and strong. Excellent service too.
With a shy 6 months since their doors opened, Rare is definitely something to look out for. Competitive prices, generous portions, and hearty food, this place is definitely a RARE find. With a bit of a misunderstanding from our waitress, I sent my trinchado back, but Mary the very attentive manager was on the ball and fixed it immediately. I would happily recommend a second visit!
Very pleasant place with absolutely splendid service. Give it a try. The prime rib / rib eye was definitely tops and the veggies supreme. Same premises as where the Meat Company was - Clearwater Mall.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here. We had a delightful waitress who wished us happy anniversary when she came to greet us, and the service was excellent throughout the evening. I ordered the calamari main which was delicious. My husband had a steak and some really yummy chips. We both had creme brulee for dessert. My only slight criticism was the creme brulee topping was ever so slightly burnt. Not enough to ruin the dish but I would prefer it done just a touch less. Overall I would definitely go back. The atmosphere is also very nice.. tables are not cramped and the lighting is a pleasant glow - not too bright but also not dark.
A new favourite! Great food, great ambience and professional staff who work as a team. The manager was attentive and our waiter, Joseph, was excellent. Always available without being intrusive. We shared the meat platter starter - highly recommended! I had the Borderlaise fillet and my husband had the prime rib. Both were cooked to perfection (like medium rare should be!). It's been an interesting and flavoursome dinner for two at the new #raresteakhouse. We have found a new place to make new memories thanks to their amazing service and tasty menu. I tried the combo meal and loved every bite I took into the medium rare sirloin and boerewors served with mushroom sauce. I can't wait to get back here and try their other dishes. @amandajohnsonson
There are very few people that manage to get oxtail right (other than my grandmother). These guys are definitely amazing. The quality of meat is also worth the price tag. Lovely staff, aesthetic and service.
We ate here as a family last night and were so well looked after by Chris our waiter who was brilliant! Excellent service, great atmosphere and the food was lovely! Steaks were perfectly cooked and tasty with really yummy sides. We had to order the onion rings because they looked too divine and I'm so glad we did because boy were they awesome! Such a great meal I will keep going back! And we will always ask for Chris!
Good Food, Good atmosphere and fair service. Service can be improved slightly, will portion sizes need some attention. The management team (Linda), was great and engaged patrons throughout the evening. Overall experience was good and we will be back....
All round an enjoyable dining experience. Service top notch and compliments to the chef. Bone marrow served with fillet was exceptional. Highly recommended.

The bone marrow won me over. The t-bone fell off the bone and the steak was very tender and done to perfection. The chicken livers were to die for. We will definitely come again!
What a beautiful restuarant! I had the veggie panini as i was fasting with no meat. It was so tasty! Not bland at all! The halloumi was amazing. Service is great. Now to try them when i can eat meat :)!
Had a fab lunch with my niece and nephew at Rare, and what a treat it turned out to be. I don't think my niece came up for air when her ribs n chips arrived. Very generous portions served, my nephew had the oxtail curry - not spicy at all but the melting off the bones tenderness and side portions were great. I had a tasty and generous portion of mash, marrow bone and short rib. Yum! Yum! Yum! Lovely atmosphere to boot as well :-)

Very nice evening enjoying a good meal. Starters and main meal was very tasty. Wife had the marrow starter and fillet with blue cheese as a main. Excellent! Trinchado starter and chicken breast for myself was good.

A welcome addition to our list. Sunday lunch with my hubby. Another great spot at clearwater. Rare has good value for money and it has been open for quite sometime but we never had a chance to come and I'm glad we finally made it. I loved the energy of the staff and Jose was our waiter, friendly and helpful...Thank you!!!
Starters are important as they set the tone for the meal to come, the bone marrow and the sticky chicken thighs did the works!!
I had vegetable risotto which was very tasteful with a glass of white wine, yummyness👍🙂
My hubby had a fillet with vegetables 🥒 and a small bowl of salad accompanied the food. He had red wine of course.
He was a bit disappointed at first because the prime rib was out😏 but nonetheless the fillet was made to perfection as he wanted it.
And if only side vegetables could change from creamed spinach and butternut to something refreshing like seasonal vegetables or so.
The portions at Rare are quite generous, if you are very very hungry then you are sorted.
I like to try any crème brûlée I come across but unfortunately I didn't have space anymore.
Our next visit im definitely trying it out.
Last minute decision..looked welcoming with great decor. Best decision made. Waiter was great and knew his menu inside out. Service is outstanding! Steak done exact and everyone's meal was yummy yummy. Definitely coming back. Joseph you rock!!
First time dining here, and the experience was a pleasurable one overall. The service was great, with a timely arrival of the food and drinks. I ordered the 200g Rump with a peppercorn mix basting, and asked the steak to be to medium-well. I found that the steak was overspiced and not cooked evenly throughout the steak. Other than that the steak was delicious. My other diners ordered a cheese & bacon burger, as well as a steak & calamari combo and both thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Satisfied with this meal and will definitely be visiting again in the future.

This is an excellent steakhouse with a comprehensive menu that caters for most people. I love the layout of the bar. We had an excellent lunch. The chicken schnitzel was fantastic. Best cheese garlic bread I have had at a restaurant. Service was excellent.

Our visit to RARE Steakhouse was nothing short of a culinary adventure. From the moment we entered, we knew we were in for a treat. It is such a beautiful restaurant 🍽️🍷
To start off, we shared a bottle of Landskroon Sauvignon Blanc, setting the stage for an evening of indulgence. 🥂
We started off with the Fried Camembert starter, a true delight for cheese lovers. Imagine deep-fried Camembert cheese topped with crispy bacon - a crispy, gooey, and savory masterpiece, with bursts of flavor 🧀🥓
For mains, I opted for the Penne Alfredo Pasta with chicken, and it was a symphony of flavors. Creamy and rich, I added a touch of garlic and Parmesan cheese to make it truly my own. Each bite was a delightful fusion of textures and tastes. 🍝🧄
However, the star of the show at RARE Steakhouse is undoubtedly the steak. The Jalapeno, Chutney, and crumbed Camembert sirloin steak was absolutely amazing. The 28 day, wet aged, marbled chargrilled steak was perfectly prepared. It was perfectly cooked to a mouthwatering medium, and crowned with luscious Camembert. The jalapeno chutney sauce added a delightful zing without overwhelming the senses. 🥩🌶️
Throughout our meal, the service was good. The waitstaff were not only friendly but also highly professional. It's clear that RARE Steakhouse values its patrons. 🙌

The staff is of top standard, can Craft a joke or two. You hardly wait for your food once you have ordered. Can definitely pay them a visit.
I think this was the best stew I have ever had in my life. It fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. The atmosphere gives off a very subtle mood, and the service was impeccable. The waiter was very professional, yet conversational.
This was a real treat! There are lots of meaty options and side dishes on the menu and the pricing is good too. Portions are great. We'll definitely be back to try out more on the menu.
Food is excellent..service of the best standard..you can sit for hours and enjoy the atmosphere and just being there..waiters are available, but not hovering around your table all the time..i absolutely just love it! Been there a few times recently, and same great service every time. Thank you for beautiful experiences in your restaurant. Awesome cocktails too! Definitely recommend this place for a chilled lunch and place to just sit and enjoy food..
Took my parents out to Rare for their anniversary and we were NOT disappointed.
Good ambience, great service and excellent food. (Served to us within 15 minutes).
Their seating plan accommodates a variety of parties of 2-8 seater tables.
Vegetarian options are limited but it is a steakhouse after all. I had the 600g prime rib with a side salad and mashed potatoes. This combination created a tangible opera symphony of flavour on my tongue. Thanks again Rare.
P.s you cannot go to Rare and NOT get their strawberry Daquiri (10/10).
Great atmosphere, very stylish. Our waiter was very professional and attentive. Our food was well prepared and there is vegan options as well. Overall a lovely experience, would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I've been a regular @Rare for the past 5 years. The food quality has dropped a bit over the years but it is still in the top 5 for the best steaks in the West Rand for me.
Their 600G prime rib with fat is delicious and my partner enjoys their 300G fillet steak. They have a great selection of filling sides as well. When it comes to portions, @Rare never disappoints. It's really value for money.
Overall, I wish RARE could get back to it's glory days but I still enjoy their food, service, deco and ambience.
