Review Mugg & Bean On The Move - Roodepoort

I'd call this the flagship store of the Mugg and Bean franchise. It's incredibly clean, always, the waiters are so friendly and attentive, the food piping hot and fresh, the portions good, and the value for money is excellent. This Mugg and Bean is what all the hype is about, it's outstanding.

Restuarant is clean, staff is friendly. Has a nice open and airy feeling and spacious seating. Nice estatics and clean tables. Omlete was ok, lacking seasoning and 2 very small pieces of bacon. Bottomless coffee is awesome. Scone was alittle stale but still good.

So enjoyed our brunch. Food was so quick to come after we ordered and I was grateful as I was supper hungry. Nice environment, friendly service and great food. So liked the bottomless Peach Iced Tea

Ample parking and a large seating area makes this Coffee shop a great stop for a quick catch up with friends or leisurely lunch with a colleague. The food is ok and the selection of hot and cold drinks impressive. Service is acceptable and the staff is mostly happy to be there. It has an inside and outside covered area so it is viable winter and summer. Inside it also has a milky lane so you are really spoilt for choice as far as sweet things go. A regular stop for me. This day we had bottomless cold drinks and mix and match halloumi chips and fried chicken strips. The chips were ok but the chicken was rather overdone. Dipped in sweet chili sauce it was ok.

This is by far my favourite Mugg & Bean. It's got the best views which make it a tranquil experience whether you're there to eat & work or eat & socialize. The staff is so amazing. Especially Jones, who's always my go-to waiter. Ever professional, kind, friendly & attentive. Always willing to help and make me feel comfortable.

My waiter was pretty nice, food was decent. Sweet potato fries were a bit too soggy for my liking but otherwise enjoyable c:

Edit added 16.08.2023 - This is now the 2nd time that i try to order items that are new on the menu only to be told, sorry we dont do that anymore. Anymore???? Its a new item on the menu! Asked for Cherry Bakewell tart.... Nope. What is available the same tired old cakes... Choc, Carrot, Lemon Meringue...Such a shame, i love coming here while my car gets washed, and its a nice coffee spot. But dobt tease us with new items that are never there for us to try. This is such a great place to have working lunches. There are power points at cwrtain tables for laptops, and the tables are spaced out and there are nice quiet booths inside to have discreet meetings, while enjoying great coffee, and delicious food. The new items added to the menu are light delicious meals perfect for a quick working lunch.

With this load shedding crisis and WFH set up - Mugg & Bean Little Falls is a great place to get some fresh air and do a little work. The staff is friendly and the food is good.

We drove all the way there on a Saturday night. According to the website they closed at 10 pm on Saturday. We came there at 8 pm and they told us the kitchen is already closed and they are about to close.

Meeting up with friend for coffee we decided to eat breakfast whilst we were there.I ordered the avo Benedict .I hardly find it a problem if portions are generous however with this meal it looked nothing like the photo!the couscous in menu was slightly drizzled and on bowl covered the whole bowl .Hollandaise wasn't best and was like tasting raw butter. Service however was really attentive

Good food. Bad service. We dealt with about 5 waiters during our meal, because every time we ordered from someone, they disappeared! We had to ask for our drinks three times. Waited about 15 minutes for our dessert (we ordered a slice of cake, which was already baked and on display). I eventually had to get up and go ask at the counter for utensils as well as these weren’t given. The food and portions were great though.

Friendly staff, generous portions and short waiting time which is always a plus. Ordered a baked cheesecake and Chai latte to help with the flu. Will opt for breakfast next time after the great service

My husband and I had Vitality rewards for Mugg and Bean and decided to have a little coffee date.

We initally wanted a dessert pie to go along with our cappuccinos but the restaurant had no pies to offer.

We then opted for the lemon meringue pie for R47.90. A large delicious slice that we both couldn't finish.

Service was good and given with a smile.

My favourite Mugg and bean outlet. Breakfast always on point. Service on point as well.

Eggs are well cooked, most amazing succulent beef sausage I've ever tried. Only problem was the toast was over toasted and not a huge fan of their baked beans. Otherwise it was a lovely breakfast.

I like this Mugg & Bean, but damn have the prices skyrocketed! The food is always good though and service is decent. Love coming here to have breakfast or lunch and chill. The upstairs is my favorite spot to eat. I sometimes drift in the ambiance.

This is my favourite Mugg&Bean branch!
The staff here are always friendly and their quality is always consistent.
I have never had a bad experience here!

I've never had a bad food experience here, and I always find the service to be friendly, albeit slow. The food is always fantastic and I am a regular customer here.

The smell of freshly baked muffins embraced my every being as I made my way upstairs. Ordered the All American and a delicious red latte. Service was very attentive & worth their tip.

I enjoy a great breakfast and have no issue paying, however I feel the options are over priced for what you getting. Another shocker for me was the well known "giant muffins" that are now half in size. The muffins Mugg & Bean at the garage in 14th Avenue are double this size. What rubbish.

Today being a public holiday, we headed to the mall early, hoping for an early breakfast before the chaos we opted for coffee and croissants. Just as we ordered, the power failed, instantly frustrated we just wanted to leave.
My waiter, Thomas, assured us he had everything under control.
We didn't believe him at the time, but he was absolutely right, decent coffee and delicious filled croissants followed.
The mall might have let us down (ended up shopping at Cradlestone) but Mugg & Bean Clearwater was our treat of the day.

I had breakfast here yesterday morning while waiting for family to do their shopping. The food was good and the staff were very polite. The filter coffee was acceptable however was slightly burnt and had particle carryover in it, not something I have experienced in other branches or would expect at a coffee house. Well located in a shopping mall that can feel quite haphazard.
Overall a positive experience, would go back.
TheHungryKat
Ordered a few takeaway coffees and muffins. Is it just me or have the giant muffins become smaller? The muffins - bran and bran/carrot were quite good, a little sweet and much smaller than I remember. The coffees, a flat white and double cappuccino, were just horrible! It tasted like warm milk with a dash of coffee!

My favourite Mugg & Bean. Food always delicious and fresh and the service friendly and fast. The mushroom bare burger is a winner.
It can get very busy at times but never had to wait too long.

Mugg & Bean, once the belle of the ball of SA's coffee cafe bistros, seems to have found its comfortable spot in the every day franchise world that wimpy resides in. Like wimpy, Mugg & Beans offer you the same consistent menu options - neither amazing nor extremely terrible. While some are better than others, one thing is common to all of them - it was a great chain that seems to have woken up to innovator chains like Tashas, Cappachinos and even the Woolies Cafe chains. We had a milo milkshake and chai tea to cool off after a hike. The desserts looked good but same ole same old.

Had the chicken wrap for linch, smoked chicken was ice cold, would have preferred it was room temperature or slightly cool, the wrap was chewy but the rest of the meal was good. Service was great, will return but will not likely have the same meal.

After hell lot of shopping .it was time for some coffee. .....And we landed up here, good coffee and mocha.... But desserts wer very disappointing ..... Won't ever think of ordering them again!

It's not often I visit Mugg & Beans but decided to try breakfast on Saturday. The restaurant was really busy and it felt like we were eating over everyone's shoulder with as many tables as possible in the dining area. Would not have minded the prior too much of the food was good but the black burger I tried was not very tasty. The chips it came with were sloppy too. Could have gotten a better meal at the price of 250 for two elsewhere. Not sure I'll be returning anytime soon.

Unfortunately it seems M&B has now quality control/checks in place to ensure recipes are executed in the same manner between stores. At the Clearwater Branch the Macha (which is meant to be a healthy and slightly sweetened drink) was so sweet it caught the back of the throat and generally the food is substandard.

I went for a manicure and thought that Mugg and Bean would be the perfect place for lunch. I love spicy food so I enjoyed a spicy chicken sandwich with a hot drink. The food was good and so was the service.

Service is everything here . The best waiters by far. Very helpful and friendly. They really try hard and it's a breath of fresh air. The food is good. Mugg and bean style ... Good portions and hearty meals. Did not like my sweet potato fries, the lacked crispyness and were very oily.

Other than that. Big ups to the wonderful waiters. They deserve a high five.
Came here because a friend wanted coffee. Ended up buying the ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich accompanied by an ice tea (lemon). From the min we stepped in the service was great, the waitresses were so friendly (my friend and I talk a lot so everytime they came to take our order we hadn't decided). Finally received my order and maybe it's just me (because my friend found nothing wrong with it) but I found the tomato slices to be too thick, they just took over the whole sandwich. But it was my first time at this particular branch and would come back, Belinda was our waitress and she was the best.

Ja sure its clean and you can get a table. But if you have to wait 15 mins for a milkshake and iced coffee, not during a bfast or lunch run, when the restaurant is about 1/3rd filled with other coffee drinking patrons, patience run out. Also, they specialize in coffee, right? How can they not have an iced coffee on their menu, without some fake BS powder in it? Nah. Wont recommend and wont go back. Sorry guys. Thanks for reading. Service doesn't always blow your socks off but Mugg and Bean always delivers a fresh and tasty meal. I love that their menu is refreshed frequently and that there is a wide variety to choose from.

This mugg n bean probably has the worst service. We were taken to our seat and told that Nathi would be our waiter. The man and his son who was seated next to us had their drinks order taken almost immediately. By the time their drinks arrived we had still not seen this Nathi. Eventually I had to wave down someone to come and assist us. She then took our order and said again that our waiter would be Nathi. He eventually comes to the table about 10 minutes later to put down the cutlery and not even as much as a Hi, much less an apology. If I wasn't this hungry right now I would have walked right out. Don't think I'll be coming back here, even if the food tastes good. It's all about the service for me!

Despite the fact that I adore Mugg & Bean Cresta, the Clearwater Mugg & Bean doesn't quite live up to the same standards. My experiences here have been less than tantalizing, with ridiculously poor service, waitrons who pay little attention to your order, and very long waiting periods for your food and the bill. Somehow even the coffee doesn't taste as good. To add to my bad experiences here, I've also had my bag stolen while sitting at the table here. My advice? Keep walking.

So working in the area we often pop into this branches for lunch. I find it not the best branch and it feels a bit chaotic with entrances on both sides. There is a crowd of waiters but yet service is not particularly great. The meals are tasty but on the expensive side. There basic meals lack the extras that others normally include. I enjoy the Mac and Cheese meal they have now added, and a couple of there soups but in general this place is not my first choice for lunch.

The new menu is great. Service is slow because its always full.
