Review Coppa - Rivonia

Thank you so much to Coppa for such a wonderful place to host my graduation dinner! We were a larger group of 15 people and absolutely loved it! The food for starters and main courses was all made fresh on the spot! Hosting was incredible! The cake was so lovely, I had the Passion fruit cake and Patrick and the team were so kind and attentive! We will definitely be back. Atmosphere is perfect to host an intimate dinner event. Load shedding happened but we had torch lights and carried on! Highly recommend this place!

2nd Visit: Went back a second time, for my birthday...still amazing food, brioche buns for the burger 🤤🤤🤤. Will go back again. 1st Visit: Lovely little bistro in the bustling Parkhurst area. Great service, fantastic food, enjoyed the decor (best chairs I've sat on in a diner, ever) and the coffee is wonderful.

We had a lovely 50th birthday for our friend and Coppa was great! From the specialized teas to the freshly baked scones and teacakes and pastries. The owner made sure we enjoyed everything and made us all feel very spoilt! We will definitely be back! Thank you Coppa!

The restaurant is amazing, the food (Breakfast Full Platter) is great and the waiters are on point, I was happy to be assisted by Castro and Mike…took my sisters out for breakfast, the guys were very professional and kept coming to the table to make sure that we were ok. There were no delays despite the fact that there was loadshedding. I’m definitely going back!!!!

Excellent French cuisine prepared from scratch; flavoursome, fresh and well-presented dishes. Patrice the owner and host was welcoming, attentive and patient to explain his French cuisine and preparation of authentic recipes. Tuna tartare and fresh mussels with white wine and cream (to rival mussels in Belgium!);Coq au Vine and Filet au poivre (Creamy Peppercorn filet) both cooked to perfection. Our new favourite restaurant!

Had the most delicious lunch. Everything was beyond tasty. I ordered the citron breaded chicken and my husband had the peppercorn steak. Fantastic food! Desert was equally as lovely. Lovely atmosphere

This is going to be such a tough review to write... I love this place! The restaurant was basically deserted when I entered it one blisterry brunch - o - clock... The waitress was just a sweetheart, she was friendly and attentive and felt like a comfortable acquaintance I'd known for a long time. The balance between attention and space was effortlessly managed and whenever she did check in, her face was so sincere it warmed my heart! I don't really know how to debunk my food because it's a combination of perfection in a sprinkle of disappointment, but like the sprinkle bottle got knocked over and fell across the wrong metaphorical cupcakes! I ordered the adorable Lemon Cake, not too much info could be given on the icing etc so I assumed it was a vanilla sponge with lemon icing! I was right -obviously- ... The cake would have been the best cake I've had in a year...unfortunately it was stale! My heart was so heavy because I could taste the medley of deliciousness as the flavors balanced perfectly on my palette...but I could not overlook the sticky almost tacky (prestick) like icing that had been out for just too long...the sponge was drying in the way that you just know, back in its hey day (so like yesterday I guess)...it was phenomenal!! So so heartbroken by the fact that it wasn't fresh...this would have been something special!! Now the Caprese Avo Toast... Price wise...I was shocked...it was good value for money in this day and age... The actual toast itself fell short...the finesse was there but the execution lacked, and while I understand how that may be almost contradictory, I did say that I was left perplexed. The cheese was basically non-existent, the tiniest sliver could be found...not enough to peel off the bread and certainly not enough to taste the composition of a caprese anything! Which is extremely sad because the fact that the basil leaves gave that pesto taste without needing the additional oil etc was just so clever and so very French!! Caprese sandwiches are my current favorite thing and this could have been brilliant had they taken the time to lay out the ingredients and make sure that there was enough of everything and if the bread had been toasted with purpose! There is nothing worse than toasted bread that leaves you wondering if it had been left out overnight or just not toasted enough...again...it's very confusing and emotionally conflicting. Honestly the star of the meal was my teeny tiny cutey little cookie that came with my coffee and the highlight of the place was my waitress. My four stars are purely for everything I know this Cafe can be but not for everything that it was today unfortunately! Still worth a visit!!

We came for an impromptu lunch today. The food was good, not excellent but really decent but the reason why I felt I had to make a comment was for our waiter Adrian, he literally was the most attentive, fun, kind waiter I have had in a really long time, and just for him, I would be back in a heart beat. Thank you so much.
