Lovely place! Delicious food and great menu options. Has a fireplace creating a warm winter atmosphere, but also has beautiful views from the deck for summer afternoons. Very friendly service.
We had a lovely dinner and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of La Parrilla! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Inside and outside seating available to cater to your preference. Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.
Riaan was amazing and super attentive. The Lamb shank pie has been the best and will definitely tell everyone about it.
A country restaurant with excellent prepared food with country staff renown for their hospitality...

We had an awesome time at La Padilla. Ordered 5 different portions of tapas. It was just perfect. Service was good and the staff was friendly.
Probably the best restaurant we visited in a long time. Inside and outdoor seating. Menu is not huge, but choices are ample. Wine selection is good and competativly priced. Portion are good and summer veg is awesome. Service is great. Well managed and run business. We will definitely return. Thanks for an amazing experience.
Awesome food, decent value for money. Will definitely pop in again when I'm back in the area, to further explore the menu.
La Parrilla, Riebeek Kasteel. (As reviewed on Facebook - Cape Town Restaurants, the GOOD the bad and the nasty)
Last weekend, myself and 10 mates had a long weekend in Witzenberg mountains, with no cell phone reception or electricity. On the way back to Cape Town, 2 of us decided to stop en route at Riebeek Kasteel to top up on some Olive oil, and a stock of flavored olives and balsamic....as one does.
And of course we ended up staying for lunch at La Parrilla Latin Grill.... would not miss this treat, when in the area.(Perhaps the thought of lunch here was the bigger attraction than the olives #justsaying)
And as always they did not disappoint..
I was keen on something fishy so I went with 2 courses..
Salmon fish cake perched on the creamiest guacamole with just the right amount of acidity, and greens, but the highlight of this mouth blowing dish was the salsa... (Besides the Salmon of course which was a Fish Cake on steroids, next level melt in the mouth, light and succulent with a crispy crumbed shell and soft, gentle, lingering flavors of salmon inside)...back to the Salsa. Not just any Salsa but a fresh homemade with lots of love kinda, Citrus Sala, that had me drooling over the plate... next time, I want a Bowl of that salsa..on the side please...the acidity fighting with sweetness of the citrus was spot on, and complimented each salivating mouthful of succulent salmon.
Then onto the Battered Hake Tacos, served with a Cilantro and yoghurt dressing... Now I do like shoving bite size tacos into my mouth all at once, but these needed 2 mouthfuls each(and I don’t have a SMALL mouth). Why I like shoving these in my mouth, is to make all those combined ingredients work in unity, to create a new totally unique flavor on my palate. The hake juices, combined with the hint of fresh flowering coriander garnish, the yoghurt sauce and crispy cabbage and batter combo, ensured a flavor eruption in my mouth. I reluctantly offered one to some mates who just randomly arrived for coffee and cake to sit with us..(Shaun, you owe me big time)
Oh forgot to mention we actually started with some exotic grilled mushrooms, which were the perfect palate normalisier and got those umami taste buds ready for some serious action..great Smokey and mushroomy umami goodness on a plate.
Also served was the House burger( Was huge and should be renamed the Big Boys Burger), I didn’t taste it, as I was too busy shoving other warm, succulent items described above, down my throat, first passing through my salivating mouth...but heard it was good stuff..
Yes, it’s totally worth it for a day trip to Riebeek, take a drive there, have lunch and stock up on olives, and some good old country side fresh air and friendliness.
Thanks La Parrilla and Riebeek, we will be back again..
Wonderful setting in Riebeek Kasteel with delicious milkshakes and breakfast. Service was friendly and the decor very stylish.
Absolutely amazing! Great food and wine! The service was personalised and exceptional! Will definitely be making a detour here again in the future!
Beautifully located in the heart of Riebeek-Kasteel, the management and staff of this wonderful place treat all customers like old friends and family. Lovely environment with amazing food! We ate at least one meal at La Parilla every day for an entire weekend as the other restaurants in town just could not compare! Will undoubtedly be back soon!!
Lovely place in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel. Great atmosphere. We had the Moqueca Brazilian fish stew. Was amazing. Will be back.
Food way okay nothing to rush back too. Maybe an extra staff member would make things run a lot smoother.
The idea is really great though
Nice classy and relaxing atmosphere. Flatbread was no longer on the menu but they didn't hesitate to prepare it for us.
Had a lovely meal at La Parrila. The food was delicious, portion size was great and it was affordable! We’ll definitely be back.
We held our year end champagne breakfast there and what blast! Not only the breakfast amazing and served family style, but the owner went out of his way to make it special!
