Best place to eat in Richmond, if you ask me. Just phone ahead to book a spot (covid restrictions). Has a guesthouse too, can't comment as I didn't stay there, but you don't need to stay there to take advantage of the great food and lovely ambiance.

We phoned ahead to make a booking for supper on our way to Hanover for our overnight stop. Pat's kitchen is a gem of a place in Richmond. Well worth the stop. Very tasty food and welcoming atmosphere.

What a pleasant surprise. Superb quality food and service with a true personal touch. Must be the best mutton I ever had. And I am told all their dishes are top notch.

My father and I got to Richmond very late and had not made any dinner plans. We found this little gem and despite it being almost closing time, the owners accommodated us by cooking us some supper which was divine. The karoo lamb chops are highly recommended and cooked to perfection. A big thank you for being prepared to cook us this meal especially since we were not staying at your guesthouse. Highly appreciated.

We stopped at the Karoo padstal late afternoon and got talking to the owner, she recommended Pat's Kitchen for dinner as the padstal closes early. We walked from our overnight accommodation and was pleasently surprised. THe decor is eclectic, antiques & stable equipment, artwork & owners furniture. The building was a old stable, the bar stools are saddles with a stable Krip. The menu is karoo country food at its best with the usual favourites . My sister and I ordered the mutton curry which was divine, spoon tender with the right spices, sambal freshly made, the portions were more than generous. My niece had the 3 meat pizza with everything, she said it was worth travelling 800 kms for it! Pat was an attentive host, good old fashioned Karoo hospitality!

At this restaurant Pat and Len will make sure you get the most unforgettable food in the Karoo. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed by friendly staff and served with the best food money can buy. Will definitely be visiting them again when we are on this road.

This was will worth it. We were the only people at the restaurant but the fire was going, we got a table right by the fire. The food was great perfectly prepared steak fresh salad with all kinds of salad dressings available. With a really well stocked bar. If you are night stopping here on your way to our from Gauteng great place to eat.

They don't always have everything on the menu but good portions in an eclectic setting. Saddle bar stools are very interesting!
