This mom and pop run eatery serves honest and unpretentious Durban Indian cuisine. It's a favourite with the lunchtime crowd, so order ahead if you can. My favourite here is the lamb bunny. The toasted curry sandwiches are also great.
Just love their bunny chow so wish they had the thousands of customers they so deserve ...
Yet to have anything but an great meal here.
Try the cheese and corn Samoses delish!
The food is brilliant! Excellent quality and very tasty. I highly recommend it. Lunchtime can be a bit busy so it's best to phone your order in advance.
Ordered the Durban style chickpea dhall a butterbean bunny. Bunny tastes like a more energetic version of Lugz. Dhall was not like anything I've tasted before (and I am pukka Indian), but not bad, just a bit watery and could have been hotter (we ordered hot for both). The dining area is the cutest, vintage shabby chic with pretty crockery and furniture. Definitely a must try in Jhb!!
In my first review ever I'm gonna start with cornucopia I'm a big fan of hot food and this place so far has delivered for me try it if u wanna grab lunch on the go and the staff is very friendly that's actually the main reason for this review
Just had a stunning curry at Cornucopia in Dunkeld Centre .... vindaloo ordered hot was spot on and Korma ordered medium was perfect! Will be back ....
Absolutely delicious, had the lamb bunny chow for a work lunch. Definitely worth trying this place won't disappoint. Just a little difficult to find at first.
I am very particular about Asian cuisine and can heartily recommend Cornucopia for a delicate blend of spices, that I found elegant. The curry isn't as hot as I would make, or what one would expect relative to other restaurants in the area, so I suggest checking heat if you're more about heat than flavour.

Amazing! Great menu. Beautiful paneer. Fast service at lunch time on a Tuesday. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants this side of town.
Wonderful Indian cuisine - Chana Dhal to die for. Aloo gobi deliciously tasty. If you're looking for traditional Indian food without complexity other than it taste this is the place
This has got to be the best kept secret in Joburg. Been there many times and never disappointed. What wonderful curries, all of which are beautifully spiced. The Butter Chicken is excellent, the Durban Lamb curry, one of the best ever, and the Chicken Breyani (I've ordered it twice now) is so delicately spiced that it is a masterpiece in Indian cuisine. I wish the owners every thing of the best in their venture and recommend that if you are a curry lover, go there and try it out. You won't be disappointed. I just wish they were open at night.
Excellent Indian food in the heart of the dunkeld shopping Centre. Think delicious samoosas and brilliant curries. Really a treat for a quick bite to eat. Inside seating is hot and stuffy but a perfect takeaway store
You can't really get a Durban bunny chow in Joburg, Indian friends seem to swear by Lugz in Ferndale, which is pretty good. But at this little place at the same centre as Staxx and Fournos in Dunkeld I had the best bunny I've had in Joburg.
I don't think there was anything particularly 'Durban'...
So this place is right up the road from my work place. My colleague loves their bunny chows but my other colleague hates how soggy the bunny chow bread gets. I love their burgers and sandwiches - but I love getting lunch with my colleagues / friends. We just always get some take out though.
Just had a take- out of their toasted cheese and tomato for lunch! Yum :) I always love the food from Cornucopia, always has an original taste :)
I knew I was walking into an authentic South African curry joint when I saw a well-used copy of the Indian Delights recipe bible behind the cashier. I ordered butter bean curry and veg biriyani. Both had an incredible depth of flavour, that special something found only in the recipes of people who have been cooking their recipe for years. A sign in the shop cautions guests that food preparation takes a bit longer because everything is made to order. This is so refreshing, compared to some Indian restaurants that serve the same curry across a couple of days. Finally, the decor is so sweet and looks like a tempting place to catch a quick breakfast or lunch.
Tucked away in the Dunkeld Centre this place serves great curries ( and bunny chows) in a clean, welcoming environment. Been there a few times for a quick lunch and take aways and all have been excellent. They continue to add to their menu and are running a very good small business. If you live in the area and enjoy your curry, try this place.
Hands down, the best butter chicken I've ever had ! Wow wow! This is my first time getting a take-away from Cornucopia & I can say with conviction that it will not be my last. Sorry to my usual, go-to curry place, I've found a place much, MUCH better! Thank you Cornucopia!! 👌
Reviewing Samoosa take aways - we are all in samoosa heaven right now - our mouths have been watering since we got to the office !!! Cannot wait to enjoy dining at the restaurant - . Meagan Whitehorn
One of the best spots in Johannesburg for a quick and simple lunch, don't expect fancy, expect friendly family vibes. The chicken burger is delicious and only R45 bucks. You can't go wrong.
Cornucopia is my favourite place to pop into and pick something delicious up for lunch. It's hidden away in the walkway between the front of the center and the back. The lamb bunny chow is a winner as well as the toasted sandwiches. Value for money, quick efficient service and great tadting food.
Cornucopia, a family run cafe and stylish convenience store is hidden away by the flower shop at the Dunkeld West shopping centre, is a great spot for a quick lunch. They have the best cheese samosas outside of the Oriental Plaza. Their lamb bunny show is highly recommended, either eat in or take away. The rotis are also good. Highly recommended when you need a quick lunch out of the office.
I am scorring based entirely on the cheese samoosas because I have not really had other meals at this restaurant before. They do the best cheese samoosas in the world, im obsessed!! And the owners are also really friendly and you feel at home.
This review is coming from someone who is not really a curry fan and specifically not a fan of anything too spicy but who happens to hang out with many people who love their spice and their curries - as you can imagine this makes it pretty hard to agree on Indian restaurants but not this place! If you ask for "extra mild" that is exactly what you will get, if you ask for extra hot ...that too I hear is exactly what you will get. Friendly service, real feel of home cooked food - our definitive "Go-To" for curry take aways.

Went for a lovely lunch with a bunch of colleagues today, the shop is nicely decorated and has a really laid back and comfortable feel. The service was interesting, no one attended our table and the orders were just placed on the side with no personal interaction. There are fridges which allows the customers to select their drinks from and I suppose this works on an honesty system when it comes to payment, the staff don't seem to take control of who takes what. The food was delicious and so affordable! My colleagues were raving about the samoosas, apparently they are to die for! Most of us had bunny chows, I had the bean one which was great! I couldn't even finish it. We were a large table of 9 people so the food took quite a while to come out, but I will most definitely be back to try the samoosas and have another bunny or two.
Great little authentic curry spot in Dunkeld. They serve fantastic Indian cuisine and traditional South African dishes, like bunny chows etc. The chicken samosas are the best I've had in Joburg. And the curries are wonderful - excellently made with a delicate balance of flavours. I really recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from the crowds.
This friendly place serves the best curry I've eaten in Joburg. Order the paneer palak and feel good about life.
Authentic South African Indian food and owner-managed by friendly people.
