Review Croft & Co - Randburg

Phuti Mosetloa
Bonaaaaaa!!! The first time I passed by Croft&Co was some time in February when I was job hunting, and I was exhausted. I passed the place looking for PostNet after getting lost. I wondered what it was like. 🫠🫠🫠🫠 The service is amazing. You feel taken care of throughout your dining experience. I am a big croissant fan, and I like trying them out from different places, I wasn't disappointed. Though not one with a sweet tooth, I didn't regret trying the croissant with Nutella with the sweetness balanced out by my latte. 😋😋😋😋 The burger with the grilled chicken breast is top two and not number two!! That's why I'll be coming back. 😂😂😂😂 Next time, I'm bringing my book (or, better yet, our Book Club) because the atmosphere is serene and refreshing. 💛💛💛💛 #SpacesAndPlaces #CroftAndCo

Always my favorite place to come for breakfast and lunch in joburg and also get some work done. The food is amazing the WiFi is strong and the staff are the friendliest on planet earth. I always get the same thing, bacon and eggs! ❤️❤️

Excellent breakfast. Farmhouse breakfast and breakfast smoothie are a great way to get set up for the day. The other three in our party were equally happy. Well done Croft & Co team

Bustling street with a wide variety of restaurants. Croft & co being a fantastic option for breakfast. The coffee was full-body and delicious. My friend had three cups (either because he’s a coffee addict or because it was delicious, I’ll go for the latter!). I had the shakshuka with bacon, it was very rich and absolutely divine. Could have had more bread because the sauce-to-bread ratio was a bit off. Other than that, highly recommend visiting.

Croft & Co is the quintessential coffee stop for any cyclist or runner in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. They are open from 5am during the week, which makes a convenient stop for cyclists and runners to grab a cup of coffee before heading home. Additionally, your bike is expertly guarded by Brian who also offers a wash service on weekends. It's a fantastic restaurant with tables that look out on to the beautiful leafy streets surrounding the Zoo Lake area. The coffee is fantastic and they also do a delicious chocolate milkshake. The banana bread (ask for it to be extra toasty - trust me on this one) is spectacular. The rest of the menu is also superb with the breakfast burger and breakfast bun being firm favourites. Friendly service, always with a smile. The energy of the owners is also infectious. It's just a lekker place to be. Simply put, in Johannesburg, no one does the early morning café stop like Croft & Co. An absolute institution.

The best of the best of the best!!!!! Staff are absolutely awesome. You are treaded like family. The owner is very hands-on and always there to help! Great spot for a lekker lunch or a quick coffee! P.S. Try the banana bread (crispy) #belekker

Love the decor which is a mixture of steam punk and antiques. A wide menu with delicious food and very friendly service. A nice pub area too. Loved it. A good place for breakfast, lunch, tea or spending a happy afternoon.

Wow a neighborhood gem, always busy with runners, and bicyclists almost every morning but always a table for a walk in. Great coffee, wonderful food, the wait staff are there immediately, and the food is alway quick and hot. I go every morning. Say hi to Jade when you're there, she's amazing.
Lerato Moletsane
Great experience although we didn't have much to choose from on their vegetarian 'options'!
Bregt Vanswartenbrouck
Very nice place for breakfast, like the style and feel of the cafe. Enjoy how fresh the food is!

Great food and very good service. Lovely atmosphere
Buntu Siwisa
The ambience of the street cafe in a long street of trendy shops and restaurants is both intellectually and artistically stimulating. And the food is fresh and served in generous portions. It's a place and atmosphere you want to go do and dip yourself in again and again and again! Memorable!

Was pleasantly suprised, went for dinner. The evening atmosphere is very pleasant and our waiter was on point. The food is fantastic, I ordered the fillet medium rare and it was cooked perfectly.

Situated on the vibrant Tyrone Avenue, all we wanted was a quick cup of coffee. The atmosphere was chilled and inviting. We ended up staying longer than anticipated. Great vibe. Happy people. Loved it.

We've joined the cyclists in lycra at one off their favourite places for breakfast or brunch. The bagels are delicious, my favourite being the simple egg mayo. 😋Will definitely return
Aurianne Gray
Amazing vibe, excellent food and wonderful service, nice plants, homey feel and owners on hand to greet you. Relaxed, cosy and trendy too. I love it! The best quarter pounder! 🍔
Susi Koch
The best light eatery in town! The decor is modern and refined. The food never disappoints and is consistently good. The service is great and the owner Grant is usually visible on the floor and ensures the quality standards are maintained. We thoroughly enjoy their coffee and breakfasts on Saturdays and Sundays as they always vibey and patronized by locals! Pooches are welcomed provided there are pavement tables open! We love this place!
Bency Goldman
Incredible service, quality food, clean and well run spot. Got a nice European vibe to it. 5 Stars.
Ryan Hudson
Really excellent layout - semi-separated by working space vs social space. This allows relaxed diners to socialise without feeling like they're in a workspace and allows workers to get on with their graft without feeling like they're taking diners' space.

Staff were friendly and efficient and the manager/owner was extremely welcoming and never made us feel like we were taking up space. This scored major points in my book and made me order plenty more than I would have, just to support them further.

Also, shout out to the gentleman who was cleaning the restrooms on the morning of Friday the 14th of August 2020 - so friendly and those bathrooms were spotless!
Diederik Van 't Hof
Was good - could have been great. Open early on a Sunday which is great, tasty breakfast and really good coffee.

Unfortunately, let down by the service. Coffee and breakfast brought fast and efficiently, but then I was forgotten by the staff as the restaurant filled up. No coffee re-fill, nothing. Had to wave my arms around to get the bill.
Chelsea Geswint
My favorite breakfast spot! The chicken and mayo with bacon, toasted sandwich is a must-have! I 100% recommend this cafe, the atmosphere is wonderful too!
Ashdesai5
Great milkshakes, poor service and average food....not much to say beyond that. It’s my fourth visit and my review above is consistently proven each time. Just come for the milkshakes...
Taahira Kimmie
One of my absolute favourite breakfast spots in Johannesburg. If you love scrambled eggs the your mom used to make them, fluffy and rich and delicious, this is where you need to go accompanied by their home made Portuguese bread!!! The service is brilliant, and every welcome makes you feel like a regular.
Yudeshtra Naidoo
Nice vibe and busy on a Saturday morning. Some average veg options but no vegan options. Coffee was excellent but food was mediocre. Hostess was very warm and welcoming.
No Time To Waste
Good cappuccino and cute place.
We all got toasted sandwiches: tuna, pastrami, and tomato and mozzarella.

All toasted to perfection with chewy and yummy texture.

A cute place for light meals.
Supervundu
What they do they do well. Simple scrambled eggs, but better than almost anywhere else. Busy on a Saturday. Service is decent. Worth a return visit sometime.

I came here for dinner with friends. Best Pork belly I have ever tasted! All the flavors and textures complimented each other beautifully. Would not change a single ingredient. Love that you are able to take your own bottle of wine along.
Lizelle Brink
The food is consistently great and Grant always makes you feel at home. We ordered breakfast which was delicious. Service was amazing as usual.
Riona Arjoon
We were out trying to catch some jacarandas whilst they are in bloom and decided to have brunch in Parkview. Finally decided on Croft & Co. The coffee (illy) was spot on delicious! I wish it were bottomless 😝😝 I had the bacon and eggs and tomatoes. My boyfriend had the scrambled eggs and bacon in a croissant. My meal was a bit pricey but oh so delicious. The bread was a little treat. We both really enjoyed our food. Will definitely be back to try out more items. Great service too.
A Foodie Travels
I came here after a race with friends for breakfast .Situated in leafy Parkview its a really nice place to grab a drink and chill .I had a croissant with Nutella ,croissant was soft inside with flakey outside and my friends had ham and cheese in a croissant which they enjoyed .
Ryan Bezuidenhout
This is an awesome breakfast place. Great food and excellent coffees. The only issue is that they are very expensive. Their coffees and cuppacino's are great but very pricey. Other than that a lovely place to have a meal!
Anna Banana 🌻
Cool vibes with some really nice tea selections if you LOVE tea like me 🙆 the food is a little pricey but also really good so it's a great place to chill, hang out and maybe treat yourself to a delicious sandwich once in a while!
Anthea Chittenden
A cozy yet modern establishment, staff are friendly and attentive, was saved on one occasion, got drenched while out running one early morning, they had not opened, yet took us in with the owner, Grant, happily making us coffee while we gathered ourselves. A varied menu but super spot for Cortado coffee, anchovy toast, flapjacks and the most divine thick slices of freshly made banana bread... I need that recipe!
Tessa Reddy
Stopped there for a mid-morning snack on a chilly winter's morning. Ambiance was cosy and relaxed, coffee was acceptable and the toast that we ordered with it was wonderful but, and it's a big BUT, it was to come with "preserves" and in addition we ordered cheese on the side. We were asked, "cheddar or mozzarella?" to which we replied the latter, well, what a shocker, preserves conjures up the idea of something with fig or ginger (not hard to find, really) - we got sweaty sliced cheese, haven't had that since school multiple years ago and never seen in my house and the 'preserve' was a cheap strawberry jam in those plastic y containers reserved for boarding houses. Come on, surely you can do better!
Smelly Celly
Nice place to chill and get some work done, or meet a friend for a drink and catch up. It has nice decor with a good ambience. The food didn't blow me away though - I felt it lacked flavour and the breakfast are much too expensive for what you get. The cortado was quite nice.
Bean
Been going to this spot for years and watched it evolve with joy,

Great spot for breakfast with that Parkhurst feel but without the commotion,

Amazing selection of cold pressed juices and trusted scrambled eggs on amazing bolo de caco.

Beware of cyclists pre 8:30am as they swarm like ants but are funny to look at.

Pricey but well worth it
Martin Headger
Nith time's I've been it was f r a quick meeting and just a coffee. What draws me to the place is the feeling and the decor. I love it.

What is disappointing is to find that they don't have soy milk, so forget about asking for anything else. It's not always great to be lactose intolerant but you'd hope someone would cater to you.

The last time I did appreciate the honey that came with my espresso. But I hope to try a food item when I'm in Parkview again.
Jolene
Parkview is such a nice neighbourhood with great cafés. We stopped at Croft for a Sunday brunch. It was quite busy but we managed to get a table. Our waitress was friendly and always around when we needed her, despite them being so packed.

Most of us ordered the sandwiches. I decided on the mozzarella, tomato and pesto, which was quite average unfortunately. My friends also said that they found their meals to be average compared with the price. I also had the ginger and carrot juice, which was amazing, but I wouldn't ever pay R35 again for such a small bottle.
Molecules And Macaroons
After a long working week, I could think of nothing better than having a relaxed dinner with friends whilst sitting on the sidewalk enjoying the evening breeze. Croft and Co. specialises in no frills or fuss cooking - just classic café dishes done well.

Most of our table opted for the famous mouthwatering cheese burger - a must try for any burger lover. I couldn't resist the four cheese tortellini which worked perfectly with the sundried tomato sauce.

This is a neighbourhood gem and an ideal candidate for a casual meal.
Lesa-Jo
We were very impressed with our food and the service here! The portions were generous and the ciabatta bread was delicious. Will definitely be back soon!
Michael Harris
Would say that it should be the go-to breakfast spot for anyone in the parks, but I don't want it to get any harder to get a table. Firm favourite.
Kyla Meyerson
This place is a 6/5 or more!! The environment is so friendly and warm. The owner, Grant, is an absolute legend!!! My recommendation is the Seabass- the texture and taste of this fish is perfect. The portions are so generous. The salads, which we had as starters, have the most delicious dressing.
LuluFromJozi
With friendly staff, a cozy setting and tasty food, one can see why this is a local favorite. Quite noisy, and the roasted tomatoes tasted of lots of added sugar. Coffee could be better. Bathrooms very neat.
Noni Demetriou
Delicious for breakfast. Great creamy scrambled eggs with delicious Pork sausage and their tomatoes are sweet and worth a taste too. Delicious freshly squeezed juices too.
Shaun Swartz
Nice little establishment for a quick and easy meal. Grant is very friendly and always welcoming. Food is always fresh and delicious and service is always great
Megan Russ
I have been to Croft a few times over the past few months - but only after pay day as it is very pricey and disappointingly it is not value for money.

It is always buzzing and the vibe is great. The service is however a hit and miss. Sometimes its superb and other times it is less than impressive.

The menu is great but could do with a few more vegetarian options - vegan options would be great!
Yannick Ngoy
Decided to experience it for the first time even though I stay near the resturant , service is impeccable the food is beyond delicious definitely going back for more.
Dave Van Der Merwe
Absolutely awesome service every time I I visit, even if it just to get a take coffee. Had a breakfast this morning, Nutella on toast, my fav
Godfrey De Meyer
Perfect for a quick breakfast on the way to work. I also popped in for a lunch salad the other day and was impressed with their portions and quality dressings.
Justin Andrew Dingwall
Great vibe, good coffee, friendly staff and quick service! I had scramble egg on toast, the egg was rich and creamy. Croft & Co is definitely worth another visit.
Bridget
Having now been to Croft and Co for breakfast and lunch, I can definitely recommend them for a cosy cafe meal or delicious coffee. They are famous for their scrambled eggs (which seem to be available all day ) but I had chorizo and bean soup when there for lunch on a cold winters day. Mine was just perfect but the fishcakes ordered by a friend were apparently lacking in flavour.
Kate Leigh Walker
My husband and I decided to pop in for a late breakfast and were very impressed. The service was great and the coffee even better. We both loved our breakfasts and left not needing lunch.
Trinka Mynhardt
I love the vibe in this coffee shop! I went back to work there a few days in a row, and really enjoyed the coffee. I had the smoked salmon salad, which was big and fresh. I would recommend Croft &Co as vibey breakfast or lunch spot.
Nishela Ramgoolam
Lovely little breakfast/lunch spot. The owner is hands on, so service is generally good. The coffee is sure to keep caffeine lovers happy.
Caitlin Hanck
Had the most delicious prego roll here yesterday! I had the chicken prego which came on a fresh Portuguese roll with the best prego sauce that left your lips tingling! Also had a freshly squeezed orange juice which was so refreshing! Overall a really great meal which was well priced and good value for money will definitely be coming back here!
Marika_Mav
We found this spot under the 'breakfast' collection. We sat outside for brunch/lunch. I was surprised that they only do scrambled eggs! The pricing for the breakfasts was also quite high, whereas the other meals seemed quite reasonable. I loved my breakfast bun - the eggs were tasty. The relish was good and the bread bin was delicious! I had 2 tiny rashers of bacon - very disappointing. Great cheese burger. Good service overall.
Lihle
New favorite breakfast spot❤️ lovely place, efficient service . Enjoyed our time there after an awesome run. Happy place happy heart ❤️❤️😍😍

I had just arrived in Joburg on an early flight and wanted to get a breakfast take-away before crashing.

For breakfast I had scrambled eggs with mushrooms on Portuguese toast. My boyfriend had the steak breakfast. We both loved it and thought each item were prepared to perfection and was fresh. An exception was the steak that was a bit over done. The mushrooms were definitely a stand out has it was cooked to perfectly, was creamy and filled with flavour.

The waiter that took our order was friendly but didn't ask how my boyfriend would like the steak prepared in his breakfast. We placed our order and had received it all within ten minutes even though they were quite busy.

Our long time favourite in Parkview, I don't know whether it is Grant or the food but both are great. Always relaxing atmosphere - nice breakfast, with a bowl of water and some bacon for the collies.
Alexa Scola
Popped in for a quick coffee and bite.
We both had the Parma ham, fontina cheese and sundried tomato sandwich and it was really good!

Such a cute spot in a hidden suburb.
Yanir Grindler
Went for a Saturday breakfast at Croft and really enjoyed my time there. Small and simple menu set in a lovely, friendly environment in Parkview. Scrambled eggs were deliciously creamy and the French bread they serve with it was a really great addition. I really recommend the mushroom addition to the breakfast for those that prefer not to have meat. My one little criticism is that they only serve scrambled eggs (you can't get your eggs fried, poached etc.) so keep that in mind before heading over. Will definitely head back to try some of the other things on the menu.
Pistolpete74
Excellent all rounder, Grant and his team always on hand to ensure you have a good experience. Never been disappointed here, whether it's breakfast, lunch or just a coffee. Good space to work from too, if you need an hour between meetings.
The SA Food Guru
Croft & Co is a charming sidewalk cafe/ restaurant located on the lively Tyrone Ave in Parkview. It is a very popular brunch and breakfast spot over weekends, so be prepared to face a crowd.

The breakfast menu is rather limited in my opinion, but at least they serve Illy coffee, which is one of my favorite coffee brands from Italy.

I didn't like the rosa tomatoes that were served with breakfast - they were way too watery (and sugary), and the juices kept running into the already undercooked scrambled eggs, making the entire meal a tad soggy.

The service was relatively quick, given the brunch weekend rush, but not overly friendly. I'll go back during the week to experience it on a quieter occasion, and maybe try a salad and the homemade ice cream.

Pity that the vibe and the food just don't seem to correlate...
Terence Tobin
Food is good, service needs some improving. Manager or maybe owner and staff seem very interested in regulars but neglect new visitors (who could become regulars).
Alex
This is a great breakfast spot! Hugely generous portions, friendly and efficient staff and a hands on owner. The coffee is really good and the decor simple but lovely. Cyclist friendly!
Taryn Spark
Went for lunch with a friend here at the beginning of December. It has a nice vibe with outdoor seating on Tyrone Ave. I had a chicken sandwich which was tasty and my friend had a salad which she enjoyed. Service was not good at all, we were pretty much forgotten about.
Justine Fish
The best scrambled eggs I have tasted in my entire life, and the toast is just simply delicious!! Way better than Vovo Tello, which used to be my favorite. Decor is stylish. Service is good. Definite must go for everyone even if it is just once.
Ntokozo Buthelezi
the food is absolutely disgusting, eggs are wet and under cooked. Food has no flavor or distinct taste. The pork sausage tasted generic and cheap! Staff is slow and inattentive. Waste of money, the chef can only make the eggs one way, which is trash! They surely head hunted him from McDonalds.
Faye Darby
Excellent service and food make this place the buzzing hub of the strip. It's a must for those that like the fresh air and to watch the people go by.

He food is simple but refreshingly crisp with all the tastes singling your buds.
JonJon Clark
In joburg for the holidays and decided to go out for a nice breakfast to fuel the Christmas shopping. Had a nice table on the pavement and enjoyed top notch cappuccino's. Then had the famous scrambled egg on toast with cherry tomatoes. Tasted awesome but with the amount of egg and tomatoe given there definetly shouldve been more than one tiny slice of bread.
Tiisetso
Popped in for a little Sunday brunch at this lovely little coffee shop restaurant with blazing fast wifi. A popular spot along the Parkview strip for good reason, the food is tasty, reasonably priced and hits the spot. And course the coffee is just right. On other occasions I've had the Hot Italian Meatballs and it's one of their treats. Go here for brunch, for a post cycle munch, or even for just for wifi working lunch.
Spruceblog
Possibly the best scrambled egg breakfast in Joburg! Lovely spot in the Parkview strip - well priced menu, great coffee and hands-on owner. Basically what more could one ask for on a Saturday morning?
Leigh Ann Barnardt
Popped in for a quick bite and quite disappointed with the meal and service. Waiters seemed rushed and not very friendly. I ordered the Caesar salad and there were no anchovies. I called the manager and asked him and he made me look through my salad. When he saw there were none he walked off. Another waiter then dumped 2 little guys on the table and walked off without apologising. The manager seemed to be very irritable with the staff. The salad was mediocre at best. Was then ignored roundly till I asked for the bill. Won't be back.
Caron Whitfield
Stopped in by chance and decided to try something out of the ordinary. We had the oats with caramelised bananas over which we tossed a wee dram of Irish whiskey..
Now that's how breakfast ought to be each day.

Cappuccino was tasty and we were served with a smile.

Like the fact that nobody batted an eyelid when a patron sat down with their dog. Will remember this spot when I have my boy out for a stroll as there a only a few coffee spots that welcome four legged fur babies.
Likecaramel
Croft & Co is everything that I expect a neighborhood cafe to be: simple, comfortable, and welcoming. Situated on Parkview's well-known Tyrone St. it offers patrons a great spot to kick back and take in the great ambiance that the neighborhood has to offer. Their service is prompt and the staff are great and very child-friendly, which one doesn't often find. With summer in full swing I'd definitely suggest their White Ice, or alternatively one of their fresh juices like the carrot with ginger.
Nicole Sochen
My third visit - again on a Sunday morning - was terribly disappointing. Slow, mixed up service - 15 minutes for the first coffee and they brought us someone else's order. We were surprised how quickly our scrambled eggs and tomatoes arrived but then we discovered why...tasted like they had been precooked and a ridiculous amount of sugar in the runny tomatoes. As a Jozi newby, I mentioned to some locals and they said it's inconsistent. Pity as I love how the owners are always present and friendly, and it's a great neighbourhood.
Mark Gaffley
Amazing steak. Amazing cheesecake. Definitely recommend this place for any occasion. If only this review didn't have to be 140 characters or more...
Jules
Been wanting to try this for a while and had a pleasant breakfast! Bread and juices were delicious and scrambled eggs were alright - found them a bit runny. Service was great and love the quaintness of it. Next time will give it a try for lunch
G Makan
If you looking for something fresh and exciting to quench your thirst this insane summer... You have to pamper your soul with the pineapple and mint juice. I requested ice extra but YUM! It hit every note my tastebuds demanded and left me wanting more. It was the perfect drink for a hot day like today. I had the chicken prego for lunch, found the portion size very generous and the flavours were good too but the juice was by far my highlight and I would go back for more!
Rich Torlage
Such friendly staff, and service was efficient and top notch. Would recommend having one of the fresh juices, pineapple and mint was amazing. The bread was delicious too. Will be back!
Dips Naik
Banting chicken prego with coleslaw and what a delicious meal. Just enough to tide me over to dinner at home.
I would recommend this restaurant.
Robyn Louw
On weekends we like to cycle to breakfast places and Croft & Co has definitely been one of my favorite spots! Great vibe and even greater food! I had the creamy oats with fried bananas (which is better than I've ever had) and hubby had a more traditional eggs etc. The portions were huge and coffee good! Service was great too! I'll definitely be back for lunch soon!
Shak_Van
I used to wonder about the appeal of this place- it looks like a hole in the wall to the outside eye, jam packed from morning till evening. But since my morning visit there a while back I think I get it. The staff is friendly and while the location is small, it's rather cosy and Parisienne; it leaves you feeling quite as ease and as though you've escaped from the outside for a bit. I had a freshly squeezed juice and some eggs and toast which was tasty. Not the most exciting food I know, but I'll be going back to "Paris" is the near future, so I promise to be more adventurous next time!
Cleo
First time in this seemingly new Parkview haunt. Place crowded on a Friday morning. Good cappuccinos, average service and very simple menu. Can't really see what the hype is all about but I will be back to try find out.
Tshidi Khunou
The atmosphere in this place is incredible. It has that French feel, almost cafe style. The food is also just as amazing. I honestly couldn't fault them on anything. The prices are also very reasonable which is just amazing. It's worth visiting...
Tamzin
Their fresh juices are so good! Scrambled eggs are creamy and delicious and you can opt for no dairy. Service could be a better as sometimes once your food is on your table the next time you see a waiter is when you're eventually looking for one to clear plates that have been there for a while.
Caroline Edey
Set on Parkview's quaint Tyrone ave, this is fast becoming one of Parkview's biggest draw cards. The wine list is well chosen and serves good options by the glass. The vibe is laid back, wholesome and unpretentious. My favorite dish is the Parma ham and fig salad. The ingredients are so fresh and there's the perfect porportion of leaves to "toppings." The meatball sandwich is also very good. Not much on offer in terms of sweets, but the Florentines and a cup of coffee does the trick just fine!
Travis Campbell
I finally got to check this place out and am very glad that I did!

I love restaurants that allow you to have breakfast any time of the day so firstly I would like to thank Croft & Co for exactly that. Aside from their breakfast menu they have a wide selection of really fantastic looking meals and I've heard that their sandwiches are amazing.

As I was in the mood to have breakfast for lunch, I went ahead and ordered their Creamy Scrambled Eggs with a side portion of Mince. The food arrived quickly and was cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed my meal and must say the Bollo do Caco bread is really quite something. Following my 'brunch' I indulged in a skinny Cappuccino which was delicious and flavorsome and was served at the perfect temperature.

The restaurant has a really great coffee shop/bistro ambience to it and was very busy throughout my visit. The service is good but I feel like they may need to up their game a bit especially as they're a small restaurant. Our waiter was great though and was very helpful in answering some questions we had.

To conclude I would recommend checking this place out if you're in the mood for something different that wont cost you a small fortune. The food is phenomenal, the vibe is great and their meals are well priced.

Henry Turner
We had a sunday morning breaktfast with the family. Excellent service and very tasty food. The atmosphere was nice and cosy with friendly staff.
Cherice Whewell
It's the best cafe in Parkwood. Situated in the hustle and bustle on Tyrone Avenue... its got class and a laid back edge to it. Food is simple but well put together. Coffee is delish and the owner is super friendly... great staff too!! Perfect for a meeting or casual get together.
Candistripe
We awarded ourselves after a climb of those Westcliff stairs... I approved the interior, the freshly squeezed juices are divine and their breakfasts top notch! There grass fed beef sausage... let's say I can munch that all the time, normally they are a fail in most places. A nice place tucked in the burbs of the Parks.
Craig Wilson
With doors opening at 06:30 on weekdays, good coffee, great service and high-speed fibre-powered internet, Croft & Co is a favourite with digital nomads and Parkview's early risers. The staff greet regulars by name and though the breakfast menu is a little limited (with most items based around creamy scrambled eggs) the laid-back atmosphere and simple decor make it incredibly popular. Expect to wait for a table on weekends.
Julia Louise Domanski
I absolutely love this little cafe. I live in Parkview and it's become a regular haunt of mine. Never had a disappointing meal here and the coffee is great!
I highly recommend this as a cozy date spot for dinner. Dim lighting, intimate small tables and really good food. I've tried the roast lamb and the chorizo and bean soup and both were AMAZING. The soup came with hot, buttery ciabatta sticks that were simply divine.
For lunch I recommend the salads- big portions with fresh, tasty ingredients. The prego rolls are also a real treat. And the spicy chicken breasts with fried baby potatoes and a side salad, while listed under "light meals", is delicious and a VERY generous portion!
The owner/manager is almost always around and is a friendly, down to earth guy with a clear passion for what he does.
Deborah Kirkman
I love the atmosphere here, the food is always good, the coffee strong and it feels like the owner really enjoys his customers. Great way to start the day with an early morning breakfast on the way to work when there is nothing in the house.
Darryl W
Best breakfast and coffee joint in Parkview. Great coffee, eggs always good. You'll have a great time getting in because half of Parkview's mobile working brigade (MBW) frequent this fine establishment. Before it opened, Scuzi's was the squatting capital of the MWB, but then Grant (?) moved next door...and he's a very very good restauranteer who connects with all his clients.
Jarred Michael Bell
I love getting new breakfast here on a Saturday morning! Their breakfast bun always hits the spot and the cappuccinos are great. We're always welcomed with a smile and keep coming back again and again. Croft's dinner menu also has some delicious options - from four cheese tortellini to the sea bass. The desserts also also interesting and worth a try
Karin Victor
Met up for drinks, ended up staying for a meal! Love the Parkview area! The restaurant was very cosy, the décor is quite typical for the surrounding area. Had a good meal- top notch service too! Parking is also quite safe and very close, so you don't have to worry about your car too much
Zoe Lansdell
I was really impressed with this place. When i first found out we were coming here for a birthday dinner I was a tad confused as it really just seems to be a day time place. However, out friend booked us a table and organised a set menu for our other friends surprise party. We were never without a drink, the waiting staff was on point and very attentive. The food itself was absolutely lovely. I had a tomato and lentil soup followed by a fillet kebab with a blue cheese and pear salad and for dessert we had delicious cheesecake (probably one of the best i've eaten).

Overall we all enjoyed our evening and had a great time. The manager was around and involved which was great to see. We stayed quite late and eventually realised we were keeping him up so made our move. But what a fabulous night. My understanding is that on a Friday night the usual vibe is that you can order a burger or a prego and your drinks, so it's nice for a bite with the family or with your friends for a nice relaxed simple night out.

I will definitely go back if I'm in the area.
Meagan Whitehorn
Great breakfast spot in Parkview. It seems to have got very busy lately so you really struggle to get a spot on weekend mornings. Pretty standard breakfast menu but the food was good.
Jacques Coetzee
Great find! And it's been around for ages!!!

By chance waltzed in here. Loved it from the get go! Had a latte, superb! Then had the bean & chorizo soup, it was out of this world! (It's not on the menu, so ask for it!)

Very friendly service. Briefly chatted to the owner. Cool guy...

Kinda wish the rest of Park View would catch a wakeup and get on point with Croft&Co !
It's warm and cosy and the breakfasts are amazing. The coffee is delicious and the breakfast bun makes me so so happy - you have to try it! This is definitely in my top 5 breakfast places in Joburg.

Nestled in the heart of vibey Parkview, Croft and Co is one of Jozi's best-kept secrets. Owned and managed by Grant Ravenscroft, you are always guaranteed of delicious food - whether it be a salad or just a coffee you're after - and being welcomed by Grant as an old friend. My personal favourite is anything from the breakfast menu but, speaking from experience, everything here is great and they are also willing to make substitutions on dishes.

Fantastic food, brilliant service, great coffee. The dinner meals are also fantastic, unpretentious just really good all round. He chicken schnitzel and the meat balls are delicious

Two words perfectly summarise this place: effortlessly awesome! The service was prompt and courteous, the food SO good (the grilled cherry tomatoes are out of this world!) and the atmosphere so perfect for the environment. Only two things that stop it from getting 5/5...firstly, they need to cater for the allergens, and secondly redo the bathroom. Everyone, including my girlfriend Leah Berelowitz,, has done allergen or another, and you need to cater for that. You need to have gluten/lactose/sugar free options available (and CLEARLY so) for everyone. Finally, the bathrooms are very clean, but perhaps making it a little more secluded (and with paper towels) wroth be better. Otherwise, a MUST visit for any breakfast foodie!

This is an absolute gem of a place ? exquisite meals, good wines & GREAT coffee! What more could a girl want? The ambience isn't too shabby either ?

Delicious coffee, simple and delicious food and great service. Croft&Co is worth a visit - make sure you have a chat with the owner, Grant. He's a hoot!

In the end we only had coffee (which was good, although not as hot as I would have liked). The reason being that the ONLY type of egg they can make is scrambled. So if you love scrambled and you aren't too fussy with the lack of choice this is a good spot. Service overall was friendly, but very slow.

Yum! Awesome breakfast spot with a great vibe. Toasted sandwiches are a great quick lunch. Delicious fresh juices. Only negative.... no red cappuccino ;)

My absolute favourite place to work, meet and eat! I really enjoy working in a coffee shop and Croft is a great place to do so - its vibey but not too loud, the waiters are very attentive but allow you to be busy with minimal interruptions. The food is excellent with dishes to suit most pockets and the owner is regularly present, getting to know his clients personally and making them feel cared for. I told them once that I'm lactose intolerant and they told me they'd make me cappucinos with my lactose-free milk if I bring it in! I can literally sit there for hours on end (they have lots of plug points). Love it :)

Went to Croft for a late breakfast.
It's located in a very nice area, and has a great arty ambiance to it.

I would recommend going for breakfast, the service was quick and the food was out within 10minutes.

The only criticism I have is the waiters personality, or lack there of.
They were not very friendly or welcoming.

Fast internet, non-intrusive staff, delicious food and good ambiance. Win.

Croft & Co. is busy, but not noisy. When I was there, most of the people on one side of the room was working on their computer by themselves, whereas the other half of the room had more conversations flowing. I think this is quite a smart way for the coffee shop to organise their customers, giving everyone what they need the environment to be :)

The coffee and the food were both very delicious. I was initially taken aback by the price of the toasted sandwich, but after finishing it I felt like it was very justified. The sandwich itself was toasted perfectly, and the coleslaw was yummy with a nicely sized portion.

The staff is friendly, clearing the table quickly but not over-seeing your every movement. I really appreciate this since a lot of places tend to make you feel uncomfortable when you're working on the computer.

Bottomline: Definitely come back for some lunch!

Pros: great ambiance, friendly service, good food and coffee, fast internet
Cons: slightly pricey

Favorite coffee shop on Tyrone. Excellent
Illy coffee and flawless scrambled eggs and salads. What the menu might lack in choice, it more than makes up on in quality. Always consistent and friendly.

One of my most favorite spots in Johannesburg! Limited menu but I like that and everything is done to perfection. Great flavor combinations. This is my "hometown" spot.

I have a handful of favorite spots in Joburg and Croft is by far one of them, alongside many familiar faces on a Sunday morning after exercise routines are done. The food is always perfectly served and it feels like a meal from home. Friendliness is always a given, with the most amazing owners who add to the reason I am a regular. Be warned, the menu is simple, but delicious every time.

I must admit, my expectations were high, probably since booking is essential and we've been turned away before. I was a little disappointed with how ordinary the food was. It wasn't bad, just a bit boring.

We arrived for some breakfast as they were hit by load shedding. Other than tea and coffee, we could order whatever we wanted to eat and drink. Their portion sizes were very generous and their scrambled eggs were delicious! Well worth a visit and arrive hungary.

One word is fit for Croft & co-ffee and that is SUPERB! They do simple food and they do it well! This type of restaurant is my favourite - unique, trendy, hole-in-the-wall and vibey. We went for Sunday brunch recently and found the place pumping. It's not hard to figure out why when the service is friendly and personal, the coffee was awesome, the food arrived quickly, fresh, warm and delicious and it seems like all types are welcome, bikes and dogs included! I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to trying it for more than just breakfast.

The best village coffee shop in joburg. Great atmosphere, friendly service and excellent food. Best breakfast and coffee in joburg! Not to mention the super fast internet, making this a great Coffice! Dog friendly and non smoking which is perfect. Love Grant too

If you're looking for a great spot for a working breakfast, or post-run coffee, Croft & Co is it. The owner, Grant, is charismatic and friendly, adding to the unique vibe of this restaurant. Food is simple and tasty and the coffee, perfect.

I really like this spot for doing a bit of work outside the office. The staff are friendly and don't bother you too much when you are busy working which is great. Otherwise they are generally quite attentive (except when it comes to getting the bill, which normally takes quite a bit of time to actually arrive). But otherwise; friendly service, decent coffee and pretty good food.

Croft & Co is a delightful restaurant with wonderful service and a lively atmosphere. Their food is packed with flavour and each morsel tastes delicious, you can see/taste that so much pride goes into every dish.
They are packed on the weekends, but it is so worth the wait.

I had the spicy grilled chicken breast and salad and it was gorgeous, the chicken was tender and tasty and I love it when there is an abundance of avo in a salad- and the portion was very generous. Other dishes to try are the scrambled eggs (they are creamy and crammed with flavour) the burgers are delish and so are their prego rolls.

If you have not visited this lovely restaurant you're in for a treat. The owner is extremely hands on and they are well priced.

Nice decor. Ok coffee. Good spot for breakfast - mostly scrambled eggs on offer. Amazing bread accompanies breakfast. Bacon and sausages with breakfast is fatty. Good service. Nice atmosphere. A place to return to.

Went for Friday Lunch. Waiters were incompetent and disinterested.

Food was decent but most definitely not a bargain for value in terms of price and portions. Service was slow, event though the restaurant had emptied out, my food came before my coffee.

Despite its good ambiance and atmosphere, there are other establishments in the vicinity that are more worthy of your business. Not impressed.

Chaotically run with extremely ordinary food. Was there for breakfast however the menu was limited as they had no croissants. Waiter completely untrained, took an age to get our food. Won't be back.

Croft & Co is a tightly run ship and the owner Grant is an excellent host. The service is great and the atmosphere is charming and welcoming.

If you’re looking for the best scrambled eggs in Jhb, then this is the right spot. Paired with caramelised rosa tomatoes, avocado and fresh Portuguese bread, this is the perfect simple breakfast. Furthermore, it is well priced.

I’ve ventured to Croft & Co for dinner, despite being a vegetarian that can’t eat the famous Pregos on offer. As a replacement, I have been offered a delicious lentil salad crammed with fresh peppers and celery as well as a halloumi and avocado Prego covered in the most delicious Prego sauce you’ve ever tasted.

Do yourself a favour and give Croft & Co a visit.

Croft & Co is small & chances of a wait on a Saturday morning are likely but worth it. The service was friendly & importantly, even though busy, prompt & efficient. Scrambled eggs, sausage & tomato are not difficult but they get it sooooo right - simple but deliciously flavorful. Coffee hot - ALWAYS a good sign and the carrot cake definitely up there with the best, moist with just the right amount of icing. Definitely worth popping past when you are in the area.

Croft & Co is cool. The vibe is upmarket and professional. It's where great minds meet to discuss their next takeover.

For breakfast and lunch, the coffee and the menu are expertly curated -- the owner has decades in the restaurant business. I had a wonderful meatball sandwich and some crisp coleslaw, delicious. Service was prompt, attentive, and accurate.

In the evening, the guests spill out onto the sidewalk and the atmosphere becomes that of a house party. It's a great scene, with people truly enjoying themselves.

Croft & Co has a small footprint and just a few tables, but when you score one you'll feel lucky, as if you're playing on the A team.
