Food was fresh and delicious. For R135 the Hake calamari combo was more than enough for 2 people. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

It's a fish and chips shop. They make the best, really the best chips!!! (French Frys) Their fish is hit and miss. Sometimes fish is very over cooked, sometimes it is perfect. I really appreciate that their takeaway containers are biodegradable.
I've had fish, chips and calamari around Cape Town, Houtbay, Gordon's Baai several times but thís shop, Hake Away, is the best so far!!! The portions were surprisingly big and the service was good and friendly! I definitely recommend this if you're looking for a good meal.
Went to Hake away exactly a year after our very first visit this past weekend and they did not disappoint. Food was so fresh and portions very generous!! The drive from Cape town to Pringle bay was 100% worth it and will make sure we visit again.
John & Mel deliver great food and service at affordable prices! The chips and calamari is the best in the area! Our guests always rave about their fish & chips. Will soon be offering Sushi too. Can't wait!

We popped in to Hake Away On recommendation from our Airbnb host and we were not disappointed.
We ordered a small portion of Hake and Chips as well as calamari and it was outstanding. Portion sizes are very big so order a small portions if you don’t eat a lot.
The hake was excellent and I can highly recommend that as well as the calamari .
Be prepared for a wait in busy season or perhaps place your order telephonically before you go to avoid a wait.
The team behind the counter do let you know if they’re busy and how long you will be waiting for. Trust me - it is worth the wait

We can highly recommend this place when looking for fish and chips they make the most delicious fried fish that stays crispy and there fried chips oh my those fries was next level and there parcels are so worth it .
Highly recommend this fish n chips shop. Very friendly service. Authentic seaside vibe. Fresh, perfectly done calamari. Small hake and chips was HUGE. Delicious slap chips and traditional carrot salad. Do yourself a favour; stop by.
