Varsity Bakery Restaurant - Pretoria - Photo album

Have been coming here since the 80s, but haven’t been there in a while. Setup has changed a lot in that it is now more of a takeaway shop that a bakery. They still seem to bake their own buns and pies. Burgers are tasty but a little stodgy. Could also do with a little more of their signature burger
Eating a Footlong here for the first time again since 1991 ....still tastes the same... awesome memory...I like that they toast the Hotdog roll now...that special Varsity bakery mustard sauce is still a winner 🏆
Varsity moved into the same building as Next To, what and awesome vibe. And was I pleasently suprised, fast service and a nice big portion. Great value for money.
I stop here once every year or so for nostalgic reasons taking me back to the good old days at Tuks. I always have the Special Footlong, like I used to in the nineties. It's still just as good... The new little restaurant is really nicely done.
Amazing place to get affordable food that's just close to memories
This is one of the few midnight take away places that you would find, selling fresh food. Almost everything is made on site especially the bread.... obviously its a bakery... But thet also sell some meat products of wixh the ribs are up there with the rest... but keep to the bbq, you won't be disapp
Love the new retro upgrade. Food still good if not better!!! Always delicious and fresh.
We have been visiting Varsity Bakery since we were students in the area. Nobody makes a chicken burger like Varsity Bakery - it's not a patty, but a perfectly flame grilled, thick and juicy chicken breast. Tender and soft and melts in your mouth. Beyond delicious. Always excited to return.
Great food specials, aswell as cheap drink specials. Can improve on music played. 10/10 for the R40 philly cheese preggo on mondays and thursdays!! Pairs well with the gin and tonic special. Big ups, good improvement
The food tastes great, but the wings aren't for me personally, it is like they add spices to them after they fry them. I couldn't understand why I could taste raw basting if you get what I mean, but overall, I love the services, they are friendly and their burger and chips are amazing. Just the wing
Alternative music, cheapish beer on tap. Great barman. Good food for the price. Typical student bar...I went on a Sunday Afternoon and it was a great spot for a quick beer and a bite
One of the oldest restaurants around UP.. very affordable fast food and the newly added Bar and club.. fro. Wednesday to Saturday, you will love to hang out till late around this area between Jan shoba and Lynnwood streets.. Alot happens here and you may need to check it out as a student. Study har
The place looks very nice, clean and open since the revamp. The menu is easy to navigate. The food is delicious. Never failed me! I only wish for a nicer teller. The one that assisted me was acting like she's doing me a favor. Attitude adjustments is required...
