Review Isabella's Cake And Food Shop, Groenkloof - Pretoria

Authentically good cake. I had a slice of the vanilla nougat cake and I can say it's one of the best slices of cake I have had in a long time. The cake shop itself is cosy, which is perfect for meeting friends or family. The lady who served me was very polite and knowledgable. Will definitely be going back the next time I have a sweet tooth craving in the Pretoria area.

Best service Ive experience in a n long time. The food is absolutely top of its class. The cake is freshly backed and absolutely worth it . But don't despair, if cake is not You favourite. They even have menus to order what your heart desire. Don't loose out on this special place. Give it a try, You wont regret you choice, and you will definitely be back for some more.

Had my baby shower there the passed weekend and we had an absolute blast. They helped with decorations, the food was good, the service was better and the ambiance the space brought was best. A bit small for big groups BUT a superb overall experience 💃💃👍👍

Had the best time in Lambertsbay and Isabellas largely contributed to this! The Food is excellent! The Management Superior, and the ambiance the best on the West Coast! This is what I remember and missed the most about west coast restaurants before they were taken over by cheap food from Bidfood.... Home style food presented amazingly! Nothing tastes like cheap store bought basting sauces and ready mixed spices.... Will visit them over and over and over, and never grow tired of the warm welcomes, the excellent service, but above all the best food I've had in a very long time... Thank you to everyone for making us all feel part of your family!

The food is phenomenal. Chocolate Cake is not "there" for me yet, but the food and service was great. Was a good outing and experience :)

Open very early in the morning if you want to get a quick breakfast and coffee before work.

The cakes visually are stunning, but the taste is average.<br/>Although, the atmosphere is really cute and sophisticated; that's mostly why we continue coming back.

Really amazing breakfasts with such a relaxed ambiance. The owner and her staff are extremely attentive to all the patrons and welcome them as though they were family.<br/><br/>The outside area is a very relaxing area to kick back with a cup of tea or coffee, have a conversation with some friends or read a lovely book.<br/><br/>Definitely my go to coffee shop in Pretoria.

I came here for a friend's baby shower. I have never been here before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The coffee shop is tiny, and we barely all fit in there, but it is very nicely decorated and quaint.<br/><br/>The owner and her staff were very helpful and attentive. We all had a choice of tea, coffee or juice and everything was laid out perfectly.<br/><br/>We each received a box that contained a few small sandwiches and a scone and then we received a slice of quiche that was really delicious.<br/><br/>At times it was a bit awkward with the staff and the owner running get in between and over some of us to the discuss to other orders and customers. Also a bit strange that the bathroom is 3 shops down through the busy hairdresser, specially when you have to take your granny through all of that.

I was in the mood for a whole cake and was wondering where I could get one. After some research on the web I came across Isabellas. They had such a good variety and it really was top class. They also serve other pasteries and eats, but all I wanted was cake!

I love the Isabella's brand as a whole but this particular outlet isn't my favorite. I must say though it would make a great venue for a mad hatters tea party it's quaint and small and has the tea party feel down. The lady who waited my table was okay I'm just confused by that we had brief conversation before I order in which I told her how hungry I was and she didn't make a suggestion for the buffet table. I ended up going for a roast leg of lamb naan bread pizza which was very disappointing. The bread was a peculiar color but had no taste which was a bit bizarre for me, it was said to come with a red onion relish but instead it came with with pickled red onions for me personally they should have perhaps halved the olives because there was a lot of salt,salt from the olives,salt from the feta them a more than generous crackling over the lamb it just felt like the whole meal was slapped with a salt shaker very unpleasant. I did like the chai red latte but I know feel it would be better to just have a coffee date and not a meal. Oh something that was a bit off putting was the kitchen stuff chatting away loudly at the back at some point they where so loud that the ladies sitting at a table across me raised their voices in order to hear each other that's certainly not an experience someone wants when they go out to eat.

This high tea experience really was one to remember. The decorations of this eatery truly give definition to the phrase "pretty in pink". I would definitely recommend this feature on their menu - book in advance and management prepares a big table for you and a large group of friends. The table was sweetly decorated and decadent cakes awaited us. It was for a friend's 21st birthday so we were served JC le Roux upon arrival. We all received a "party box" with quiche, a crostini, a salmon sandwich, and light salad. Good food and good company made for a pleasant Saturday morning.

Isabella's Groenkloof is tucked away close to Groenkloof postal boxes. A tiny place with a buzz of congenial conversation. Being World Egg Day, I chose a basic white cheese omelette with added sundried tomato and chopped red onion.<br/>Delicious, except for the red onions which were sliced - rather thickly too. These onion slices overpowered the tomato & cheese. Finely chopped red onion would have made a vast difference.<br/>Waitress Tobeka was rather distracted - two large groups provided the distraction. She even forgot to bring the toast with the omelette. <br/>Neil, the owner brought my toast, appologising for the delay.<br/>Neil also provides catering for special events at a separate venue. Sounds good for bithdays and other celebrations<br/>
