Review Brazen Head Willows - Pretoria

Renaldo Goosen
With staff that always make you feel welcome. Have to be noted that they have great prices for excellent food and they are very generous on the quantity of food served too. If your are looking for a relaxing day there is a beautiful spot down stairs to sit with a two large fire pits to keep you warm.. Or if it's a party vibe u seek, the main area has live music, quiz nights and sports on TV. One of my favourite places to stop.

The food, atmosphere and menu options were all well above average. Unfortunately service quality seemed to be somewhat determined by where you were sitting (inside sitting area received better service than outside) it was acceptable either way. Quiz nights are rather enjoyable and worth looking at if you're in the area.

STOUT ON TAP! They have excellent snacks and meals, a variety of platters, perfect for an evening get together with friends, reasonable prices and great food. They have three sections where you can sit, indoors, outdoors, and a more private (for birthdays and reservations) section that can be booked in advance.

Friendly and efficient waiters. Most succulent T-bone I had in a long time. Their specials cater for a variety of palates. Easy access from N1.

A great Irish pub. The decor lends itself to the tales of Irish antiquity and the quaint Irish sayings that adorn the walls add to the ambience. We had an enjoyable bacon and eggs breakfast.

What a little gem, really surpised with this pub restaurant. Service is great, food is wonderful and good value. Omelette had two types of cheese in it with crispy bacon, 10/10.
Gareth Smith
Good food, good atmosphere, great specials from time to time and Guiness on tap. Staff are always friendly and quiz nights are usually a hoot with the quick witted quiz masters.
Pieter Meiring
Lovely inside and outside areas, sometimes in summer even under the trees outside! TV's everywhere, so excellent for watching your favourite sport while enjoying good food and drinks!
Laura Gast
Great staff, great atmosphere, and great beers. Wish the menu was a bit more varied and a bit better quality, but the food is just fine and tasty enough.
Wimpie Scholtz
Very good food and great service. One of the only places where you can still get a Guinness draught. The food is a bit pricey, but it is worth it.

Great place to hung out around the Willows, the service is really good, great food, relaxed atmosphere, ask for the chefs special, we especially liked the steak
Jandré
Fun little Irish pub with fantastic staff. Good beer (Guinness) on tap, not a big fan of the music selection though.

It’s a bar. It sells food. There are waiters. Quiz nights. Usually alcohol specials. The food is your average pub grub and the service is usually acceptable.

I was here for an Irish themed birthday party. The staff was very helpful and friendly with our large group and the service was quick. Excellent food and drinks!

Management is callous at best, the menu is severely overpriced, and though some of the waiters are gems, the others need reminding a hundred times that you ordered from them.
We used to frequent the establishment for quiz night, but after complaining to management we were told we don't spend enough money for them to care, and we shouldn't come back.
We won't be going back.

If you're into pub food then you're looking at the right review. They have a traditional pub menu with great pricing. Service offered from the entrance right up until you leave is fantastic. The indoor seating areas could do with a nice spring clean.

Lekker Irish pub with friendly staff and good service. Great selection of draft beers. The food was good and big portions for great value for money.

Late breakfast at Brazen Head. Had the Ham and Chease Omelette, which was goodish, and my companion had the Hot Chicken Livers, which was a bit bland and had too much onions for our taste. The waiter, however, was really good. He showed a lot of patience with another difficult (and rude) customer and gave us great, friendly service. Wish I could remember his name.

Good food and epic drinks specials for a night out with friends or family I have to recommend Brazen head ask for Miriam she is epic fast well spoken and alway quick with a joke 10/10 also the quiz nights here are huge fun a must try

The Brazen Head is another favourite post-exam hangout for the students at my college. The jolly atmosphere and reasonable prices are key reasons. They also have an epic quiz night! Unfortunately I'm not too impressed by their vegetarian menu, but food isn't really my reason to go to this joint.

This corner restaurant is situated perfectly on Lynnwood road. There is ample parking available. The menu caters for a variety of food tests....my personal favourite being the baskets. And...the best onion rings ever. It's not perfect little corner for a quick visit with my girls before we all scatter back into traffic.

Just had an amazing lunch (burger an t-bone steak for hubby) and we are waiting four our chocolate brownies. Great service from our waiter Maria. Great atmosphere if you want to sit and have a good time with friends.

Spent a great evening here with some really cool people. The staff are fantastic. Really friendly and helpful. The food is pub grub, and by those standards it's really good. I really enjoyed the lamb curry, but the star of the evening was definitely the beef and Guinness pie. One thing that was a bit startling was the prices. Anything that isn't on the specials menu is very expensive. Luckily the specials menu is chock full of really good food. Overall I think the brazen head is a really great place for drinks with friends. Plenty of safe parking, indoor or outdoor seating, and some massive TVs for game night.

Great evening with awesome people as we were invited to a Zomato Foodie Meet-up. The service was really good and the waiter was well trained and efficient.

The starter livers were tasty but lacked some magic. Our mains were the Lamb curry and the Guinness beef pie. These were really tasty and well presented. Unfortunately everything fell flat with the desert. The Malva pudding was dry and bland, the apple crumble was tasteless with a chewy uncooked crust.

This is a very good pub with excellent ambiance. Just tweek up the pudding a bit please. Thanks for the evening Zomato and Brazen Head. Kirsty Gous

I was privileged to be invited to a meet-up with fellow foodies at Brazenhead. An Irish pub at Lynwood Manor at Willow Way Shopping Centre. We were treated to chicken livers as a starter, mains was lamb curry and beef and Guinness pie. I ended my night with ice-cream and bar-one sauce.

The place is buzzing like a typical pub would. The service was great and the company was awesome. I love food and I love meeting people that share the same interest. A pleasant evening after all. Kudos to Brazenhead for hosting us and thanks to Maria our waitron for her great service with a smile.

#ZomatoXBrazenhead #ZomatoXMeetup #ZomatoSA #FoodieCulture #life #food #passion

Thanks to these awesome #foodies Robyn Jacobs Travers Sagar Grant T Frikkie Gous Ayanda Grant Ferreira Christo Baas De Beer

This would have been a solid 4 rating, had it not been for one thing...
Chicken liver starters were tasty (bit starchy on the texture side of things, but the deliciousness compensated). Mains for me was a delicious lamb curry (a bit mild, but still good) and the lady had a great beef & Guinness pie. Then disaster struck with desert. Tiny little Malva pudding that shared taste and texture with an old shoe, and apple crumble that was undercooked and rubbery. If you want desert, go for the ice cream and bar one sauce.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, high5 to them all!

Will definitely pop in again, but next time I'll just have another cocktail for desert 😜

Thursday nyt @Brazenhead, okay so the ambience is amazing with the pub seperate from the fine dine section....gud tv screens for sports and amazing welcme service from the waiters. So we had chicken livers for starters with slices of bread which was new to me then for main course pie and lamb curry. The curry takes the cup for me . Definitely a place to go with family and friends

By far the worst pub in Pretoria East. 15 minutes for a drink is quick for them. Their tv's are tiny so don't try watch the sport there (even though they promote themselves as a place to watch the game). They have drink specials on the most expensive beer - buy two and get a free gift - but they don't keep stock of the free gifts, and they really don't care when you ask. And their "platters" (R99) are kiddies meals consisting of viennas, chicken strips, undercooked samosas and chips. Really, go anywhere else but here, it's a pathetic excuse for a pub.

Usually a pleasant restaurant to come to visit, this has been truly disappointing. I ordered the large eisbein platter to share. The whole plate's food was luke warm and the chips hot leading me to believe the food was under a Hotplate while the chips were being prepared. Everything other that the chips were dried out resulting in chewy or hard eisbein pieces. The bite sized pieces also had embedded pieces of bone making them difficult to see and any dentist's dream. The little sauce provided was not enough to aid the dried out meat in to being edible. The atmosphere however is fantastic and the drinks specials are not too bad. My past orders have all been satisfactory.

If you are looking for a place to watch the rugby world cup matches this year and/or any big sporting events in general Brazen Head The Wilgers is the place to be.I have been to Brazen Head numerous times, to go and watch big sporting events and have never been disappointed by the atmosphere or specials, but unfortunately I can't say the same, for the team who I am supporting's performance. This past weekend I watched the Springbok vs. Samoa game at Brazen and was very impressed with the service, drinks and food specials. In general I can highly recommend their baskets and steaks. The service can sometimes be a bit slow, but is always reasonable. On Monday's Brazen Head also host a quiz night, with some great prizes, free shot and a great vide, which everyone must at least try once in their life time.

Fun birthday celebration on Saturday night. Looking at the menu I was a bit shocked at the prices that they expect us to pay, but we were hungry so we had to do it. The waiter was cool enough to tell us about the burger special (we really didnt know about it) so we had that. Put bacon and cheese on a burger and Im sold. The food was very nice, the staff helpful and friendly and the vibe is your typical pub style.

The service is good. I really enjoyed the food. The venue is a nice irish bar. Their is a dining area and a bar area, so they cater for both. The only thing I would have liked is if the prices were a bit lower.

Irish stew is amazing. Beer is good. Service is good-waiters very friendly. Not much space in the sun (in winter this bad). Next time we will have to try something else on the menu. A nice stop for lunch on a bike ride

Was pleasantly surprised as they offer one or two Gluten Free options. Will definitely go back. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Would love to see genuine banting meals.

The best Brazen Head in Pretoria. Friendly staff, good Willows-exclusive specials and surprisingly good breakfast. Nothing spectacular though - but it's as good as you can expect from a pub. The beer selection is sadly a bit lacking in that no craft beers are available.
