Gourmet burger place with a nice setting, on the Waterkloof golf course driving range. Great Friday afternoon happy hour special with all drinks are half price

This is literally the best burger I have had in my entire life!

One of the best hidden gems in Pretoria! A lovely, intimate, and relaxed venue. Grab a seat outside as the sun sets. Give the venison burger a try, and add sweet potato fries. They have a varying selection of craft beers (some imported). The staff are very friendly, and will make some good suggestions.

Very nice place. Has a very good view over Groenkloof nature reserve. Burgers are great. They also recently started making pizzas. Very good food. They also have half price drinks on Fridays.

Perfect place to grab some burgers and craft beers, it's normally a quiet place so you can actually hear the other people at your table. On Tuesdays you get 2 burgers for the price of 1. The best burgers in town.

We visited DK Burger on Wednesday 06.07.16. There were only a few people around (everybody's loss). We enjoyed the food, the service, the music. Exceptional service and food. Will visit again. - soon!

It is a delight to sit outside and watch the sunset while enjoying one of their many craft beers. Burgers n chips are very tasty. Pizzas are divine. Home made malfa pudding is a definite as is their specialty dom pedro.

Great burger place with one of the best views in Pretoria. Sit on the western side and watch a spectacular sunset while enjoying a tipple from one of the impressive offerings off the craft beer or gin lists.

Situated on the Waterkloof Golf Course grounds, this restaurant is the bistro side of the De Kloof Restaurant, where you can either sit inside or outside and enjoy the fresh air and view the lovely greens surrounding the building. They provide a large selection of craft beers; unique burgers; salads and what one could call pub food - but definitely pub food with class. The waiters and managers were very friendly and accommodating, seating us immediately and taking our orders. As we had selected this restaurant for Restaurant Week; we were provided with their menu which consisted of one starter; a choice between 3 main courses and then 2 deserts. The starter was a selection of some of their starters on their regular menu. The Beef tartar on melba toast; a chicken wing stuffed with gorgonzola & bacon as well as a samosas filled with pulled pork were all divine. Each bite providing a fresh taste sensation. For the main course we selected the Get Stuffed Burger which is a beef shin patty filled with gorgonzola & fig and served with rocket and onion marmalade. The beef shin was perfectly cooked; moist and was the ideal selection of meat to use with the stuffing. Also the Free-range Beef Fillet Burger, according to the menu, consists of grilled beef fillets strips, basil pesto and sundried tomato, parmesan shavings & balsamic reduction. The beef fillets strips turned out to be a stack of beef fillets which were grilled (again) to perfection which melted in your mouth, fitting perfectly with the other ingredients. Each burger was served with sweet potato fries and onion rings (made with real beer batter) on the side, also freshly prepared and very tasty. The greater selection of other dishes and designer burgers regular menu is definitely tantalizing to make us want to visit them again.

Nice service, good food and a lovely view on a hot summers day. Good selection of food and drinks. Peaceful and not too packed which was nice.

This restaurant is absolutely one of my favourite places to go eat, either with my friends or alone, the staff are amazing and the food is incredible, very quiet and pleasant experience with a very nice view!

We’ve been wanting to go to DK Burger for a few months now so finally decided to try their burgers. When we got there we were one of two couples in the restaurant. They only had the bar tender tending to the customers. <br/><br/>Our wine was lovely but our experience was awful. <br/><br/>After waiting half an hour for our burgers the manager came down to tell us the chef had made a mistake and had to start over, when the food finally arrived our chips were under cooked and our burgers weren’t nice at all. My chicken burger was extremely dry and stringy, the bun itself tasted old and chewy. Neither of us finished our food and we took the rest take away. In the menu they pride themselves for cooking gourmet burgers but I can’t say that’s what we got when we got our food. Some of the listed items were missing when it arrived. <br/><br/>I won’t recommend it to anyone else. <br/>

What a great experience. We have been to DK burger before, about 2 years ago and thought we might try it out again. Although 2 years have gone by, nothing has changed. Still a fantastic dining experience.<br/><br/>DK burgers caters for all with a gourmet dining experience serving burgers and other main dishes. My boyfriend had the salmon burger and I had the fillet steak burger, which was cooked to perfection.<br/><br/>Although the restaurant was quiet, the waiter was friendly and always ready to help. DK burger makes for a great date night place, if you looking for somewhere elegant and charming.

We had a very disappointing experience on Friday night. We waited over an hour for our burgers. When they finally arrived they were cold and tasteless. The young waiters were very disorganised. There was no manager in sight. Food was coming out the kitchen and going back again because no one knew what table it was for. We were given cold popcorn in a polystyrene container as a snack because the food was taking so long. I complained via a private Facebook message and my husband sent feedback via email. No one has bothered to respond.

If you have not been here, go! We are in love with the main "fine dining" restaurant De Kloof, but adore the concept of the baby brother downstairs namely DK burger. Their claim to fame is Gourmet Burgers, and they dont dissapoint. They are big on craft gin and craft beer as well. They offer a buy one get one free special on Tuesdays on all their burgers, including Wagyu, Fillet, Salmon and Venison, which makes it extremely affordable, and a great evening out with friends. Beautiful Location overlooking the Waterkloof Golf Course and the pretoria lights, only let down is the service. Our waiter, admittedly being new, slipped up a couple of times by bringing incorrect orders and messing up the bill. The owner however stepped in and rectified the mistakes ASAP. Will have to go try their spring special before the end of October!

Decent all-round burger joint. Has reasonably priced burgers, steaks and desserts. Will definitely recommend it to others. I like the fact they use interesting and not your run of the mill ingredients.

One of the worst burgers I ever had. Cold raw greasy chips. Food was very salty as well. Gourmet does not mean 5 sprigs of rocket and a dash of pesto. Waited ages for the food. Not worth the effort and money. Spurs burgers are better and I am not a fan of Spur. Will not visit again.
GirlvsFood
Fantastic burgers. Every combination is superb. Very casual restaurant that is on the driving range. More on the expensive side, but well worth it. The owner is usually present and he prides himself in his two restaurants.

Service was below average, the waiter was very unfriendly, didn't smile once and just seemed all around negative.<br/>The food wasn't that great, I had the wagyu burger and was looking forward to it but what a disappointment. The lettuce was not fresh it was wilted, definitely not what I expected in a good burger.<br/>We asked for chili sauce ended up waiting a long time for Tabasco sauce with no lid!!!!! it looked way past it's expiration date and very unhygienic. <br/>Overall this was a terrible experience for a not so reasonable price. I highly doubt that I will be returning to this restaurant.

Went to DK burger for the first time last night. Reserved a table, as per Zomato's recommendation, and were taken to the reserved table on arrival.<br/>Service was prompt, ordered drinks and food. The wagyu burger was out of this world. It was one of the best burgers I've had.<br/>Will definitely visit soon for some more good food!

DK is probably my favourite laid-back eatery in Pretoria. For my own selfish reasons, I wish it remains the little secret it currently is. I've never had a bad experience at DK. The food is always excellent and the milkshakes are delicious, but what really makes DK special is sitting outside watching the sun set and feeling like you are far away.<br/><br/>The menu isn't extensive and if you don't like burgers, don't come here. If you like a burger that is unpretentious, then DK is a good place to eat. The bar area also seems to be cool, but I never come here for the cocktails (although they have a good selection of beer). I come for good simple food.

What can I really say about this place ... I honestly just love this place!<br/><br/>Having visited them on many occasions I personally feel they are one of the top burger restaurants in the country.<br/><br/>My favorite is their salmon burger with wasabi mayo but really any burger would do. The star of the show however is the smoked ketchup, bordering on sinfully delicious.<br/><br/>The service is on point and helpful when you cannot make up your mind.

We went here for a Patron tequila pairing evening and it was exceptional! I learnt tons about tequila; the process of getting it into a bottle, how it's meant to be drunk, etc, etc. The atmosphere was quaint and cosy, the service was attentive and the food was delicious! Each course had its own unique spin on a popular dish with different flavours, for example, a lavender teriyaki chicken california roll! This place is well worth a try and on Tuesday's there is buy one get one free burgers!

Good burgers and wide variety of beer. Lovely affordable option for food coming from De Kloof restaurant kitchen, yet in a relaxed environment. Beautiful view.

Goumet burgers, craft beers and to top it off a great view and friendly waiters!! Had the best time at DK Burger sharing it with friends and enjoying good old proper burgers!! <br/>

Had a great time at DK Burger. Service was efficient. The food was delicious and well prepared. My only complaint is that our desserts took quite some time to come and there was no apology or explanation offered. Apart from that it was a good evening.

We attended the beer tasting. What a wonderful event. The tasting was accompanied by a 3 course meal: the starter was divine, the lamb burger as a main was very flavorful with particularly good sauces (and we are not lamb fans) but alas, the dessert was less than impressive. Pumpkin panna cotta with a beer sorbet was not the best idea...otherwise the service was initially lacking but once the tasting started everything was on track and the food was served timeously.

Wow! Craft beers at sunset overlooking part of the city with a friendly barman, Mike, makes for a perfect evening. Great experience. Great selection of craft beers, outstanding burgers. However, the food is a bit overpriced. R120 for a platter that isn't much more than a snack. Expected a bit more so go for the burgers.

Some of the best burgers we've had in a long time. They have a fairly okay selection of craft beer and wines. The vibe is very chilled and the view is amazing. Will most definitely go back there, and soon!
Jacorien De Ru
Absolutely delicious burgers. Perfect in simplicity. Also a great selection of craft beers. Very small restaurant but still worth a visit.

After tasting Waygu beef at the Taste of Joburg, I searched high and low for a resturant in Pretoria which would satisfy my craving. The waygu is best served medium rare and it was really juicy. I really enjoyed the sweet potatoes fries served in authentic tin cups. The cocktails are good too. A real gem hidden in Waterkloof Golf Estate.

If you plan to visit DK Burger for one item only....it has got to be the smoked ketchup.  Yes foodies, "smoked" tomato sauce for dipping your crispy fries and onion rings, to smother your food in and quite frankly yourself.  Interesting burgers and taste combinations all washed down with a craft beer or two.  Recommendation:  Wagyu Beef Burger with any/all chips and "famous" Smoked Tomato Ketchup.

This place is beautiful! I love the scenery at DK. It really is a lovely place to go on the weekend for a beer and burger. Last time I was there I had the Wagyu (hope I spelled that right?) burger. It was fantastic, and the onion rings are to die for. I really do enjoy going here for my beef cravings!

Came here for a birthday party a few weeks back! Such a relaxed atmosphere. GREAT view for the couples joining! Delicious DELICIOUS burgers! <br/>Service was the only thing that can be improved on, there was a bit of a communication gap! <br/><br/>Would definitely visit again!!

Really disappointed by the overall experience received today. We booked our table on Wednesday for 15h00. Confirmed the table today. When we arrive we are told we have to be out by us 17h00 but because we have booked a table they are "obliged" to serve us. I never want to be an obligation. Needless to say, the food was below mediocre. The service was extremely poor. I was suprised we actually got any food as our waiter was constantly looking at himself in the mirror. After our complaints (deleted from facebook) the manager could not give an explanation and to be honest, there is no excuse for such poor service. My recommendation? Save yourself the drive, McDonald's is a better experience.

DK Burger is in a very scenic area overlooking Pretoria. I ordered a standard beef burger with white cheddar cheese and bacon. The meal was okay. In the back of my mind I kept thinking about my meals at Burger Bistro and Capital Craft and thought that they were slightly better. The craft beer selection also wasn't as great as Capital Craft's but I did like that they were cheaper. It was also a very quiet night there and didn't seem to carry much of an atmosphere. I know they have special burger nights so it might be worth checking out DK Burgers then.

I had placed this restaurant on my to do list for quite some time now, and I recently managed to get an experience of what DK burger has to offer. I was pleasantly surprised. Their craft beer menu is quite extensive and inviting. Their decor very laid back and relaxed. I didn't feel under any pressure to perform. Their food was...not as amazeballs as I had thought it would be. I ordered the beef fillet burger (patty consisted of thin, soft beef fillet slices) with some added garlic aioli. It was..good. left me wanting more flavor however. We ordered a side plate of onion rings. These unfortunately disappointed me as the batter was far too doughy for my liking. Their chips..tasty homemade potato chips. Overall i enjoyed the beer and environment far more than the food. They have a view that is to die for but it was at night so I definitely need to go back during the day. Im sure I will give the restaurant another chance soon...

I had been looking forward to going DK Burger since seeing it on Eat Out's best of Pretoria but unfortunately it just shouldn't cut it. The service was great! But unfortunately the price of the burgers and the taste just don't go together. They have a wide range of craft beer though. So if you into craft beer you must check it out. However if you want a good burger and you willing to drive I would highly recommend burger bistro.

Finding the correct entrance was a little bit of a mission. Once we found the correct place, we were greeted and seated by a very friendly waiter. The selection of burgers is fairly small, and while the food was tasty, the portions make it not worth the cost. The crumbed haloumi, especially, was very disappointing. 3 burgers, 3 chips and 3 small drinks totalled R450 - not worth it.

Absolutely horrendous service. I called to make a birthday reservation and the women who answered had an awful attitude. Almost as if she was above me. We reserved a table for 20h45. We struggled to be allowed into the estate and upon arrival at 21h00 we had to search for someone as the restaurant was empty. The women sweeping the floor then informed us that the kitchen closed at 21h00, which I was not told. Very disappointing!

Tried the beef fillet and lamb burger. The beef fillet burger was a real gourmet burger and I wish it was bigger. Although the lamb burger does have gourmet garnish, the flavours did not really come through and it tasted a bit plain. It could have done with some sauce as it was to the dry end. I like the big patty of the lamb burger.<br/>The chips and onion rings as a side together with a craft beer does make a great combo.<br/>The dessert (mr witlock and dark choclate springrolls) was oky.<br/>The prices were't too bad. One might ask for bigger portions though.<br/>The venue is a quint place and nicely tucked away from the city.<br/>I should really give them a congrats on the excellent service!

A nice little restuarant in waterkloof golf estate. The service was great! The food lacked a little bit of taste, but you can wash it down with a variety of craft beers. I would recommend the beef strips burger, nice and juicy, it is a bit small, but it will get the job done. For pudding I had something they call Mr. Whitlock, now for a pudding lover like me, this didn't hit the spot :( When we go there again, atleast I know what to expect this time. SuPierreior Muller

I had the Venison (small menu, but has more than enough variety to please any guest) - it was superb. Definitely a great place for gourmet burgers!

Went there for some burgers with some friends. Beautiful view and lovely location. Had the lamb burger it was delicious. The chilli poppers were a bit of a let down and over priced for what they are, wouldn't recommend ordering them. Everyone enjoyed their burgers. Service seemed good until they forgot my chilli poppers and left off a knife and fork. I asked for a new knife and fork but the waiter still forgot so we all ended up sharing knives and forks (wasn't fun). Overall 2,5/5. Expected better...

Went there for a private function on the 22nd of March. Brilliant service, the staff was friendly, unobtrusive and knowledgeable about the availability and characteristics of the beer they had in stock. Craft beer on tap is a rarity in Pretoria, so it's damn nice to get a place who caters for those who has taste.. The burgers were top notch Bite size pieces of heaven, being juicy and tasty and sheer perfection. The chips that was served with them were out of this world. I don't know what they did to those potatoes to make them taste so damn good, I want more of them.

Situated next to the highly regarded De Kloof restaurant, the DK Burger & Craft Beer Bar is a wonderful little gem. <br/><br/>The menu is dead simple - one salad, six burgers, a handful of sides. Everything is homemade - the patties, the buns, even the ketchup (which is divine!). The burgers are great value for money, with thick, juicy patties and delicious accompaniments - the rosemary salted potato wedges and beer-basted onion rings are especially good. <br/><br/>Come early enough in the evening, and you can enjoy a pleasant sunset view, and then kick back with any one of their numerous craft beers. From IPAs to ginger beers to pumpkin ales, there's something for everyone, and their prices are very reasonable.<br/><br/>Recommended!
