Review Taal Indian Restaurant - Pretoria

Carla Ricci
I first tried their food 6 years ago since then when ever I'm in the mood for a cosy meal I always crave it. I would definitely recommend the samoosas, lamb roghan josh and chicken tikka masala. Their roti rolls are massive portions for 1 person, but very delicious.

The samoosas are absolutely delicious. Lots of filling, crispy pastry, not oily at all. Wow! I highly recommend you try them. The cheese & corn are my favourite.

Very good food! Have had it multiple times, and will go there many times more. Quick service, friendly staff.

I had food from here a few years ago and it wasn’t special. It wasn’t good nor was it bad. However, I’ve had very positive experiences these past few days. I had a chicken tikka curry with butter naan and on another occasion butter chicken with butter naan. Both dishes were exceptional. The flavors were really good and preparation techniques were authentic. The packaging for take away is good too. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for good Indian food in the Centurion area.

Fantastic food! Food gets to you fresh and hot. The samoosas are a "must try"; the best I have had in a very long time! Great for sit down or takeaway. The restaurant itself is small and humble, but the food speaks for itself.

Great place for a curry takeout on a cold winters evening. This cosy restaurant has very friendly staff and is open most of the time. Well written menu with descriptions of the dishes for persons not familiar with curry dishes. Restaurant also has a liquor license.

Best by far in Centurion! Korma paneer or chicken, and the closest to true naan we've had. Our new favourite is the chicken samosas, not your traditional triangular delight, but wow is it amazing!

The food is authentic Indian - super flavourful and fresh. The kashmier (coconut) naan is to die for! Our waiter was attentive and always near to see to our needs and to fill up our wine glasses. Taal is a must!

Simply delicious authentic Indian cuisine. Generous portions. I love tasting different dishes every time I visit to order take away. What a pity they don't deliver.

Very few places do Indian food right. Taal is one of the few. Just do not use a delivery service, the overheads makes it quite expensive.

Just ordered a beef and lamb Biryani some of the best biryani we had. Compliments to the chef.

Beef currey and butter naan to warm you from the inside on a cold winter night. Delicious.

The spirits menu is limited. But the food was lovely. The mild was truly mild. They close rather closer to 9pm than 10pm on week days

Ordered on Uber Eats for 8 people. Everyone was impressed with their food. Really impressed.

We usually only buy the naan from here because it’s so tasty😌 but for dinner we tried out their Lamb Rogan Josh (medium), the Lamb Gosht Badami (medium) and the Tandoori chicken and chips. The aroma of each dish was oh so heavenly 😍😍😍 The lamb badami was flavorful, it had a good kick to it, and the lamb was tender and well cooked. The rogan josh was a nice surprise, it looked a curry we’d make at home and the flavors were just right, nothing was too overpowering or bland and the entire meal balanced out really well. The tandoori chicken looked absolutely delicious, however it was a bit dry, the chips weren’t too great either but edible nonetheless🤷🏽‍♀️

I really enjoy the naan from here, specifically the garlic naan, it’s not chewy, bland or burnt and it’s the right thickness.

For dessert we ordered the sojii and rice pudding(sweet rice), the sojii was bland but had a good consistency and the rice pudding was overpowered by cardamom and coconut and the rice was somewhat blended which lead to the pudding being really runny.

I’ll definitely be back for the food and the great service!☺️

Taal has to be, hands down, my favourite place to eat. Their food is unrivaled. You will not find better Indian food, anywhere. I cannot emphasise this enough. Uncertain what you'd like? Try the Chicken Korma and Butter Naan. Out of this world.

We often get take-aways from here & it is ALWAYS absolutely brilliant!!!

My husband usually has the chicken tikka masala (medium) & I have the lamb jalfreji or the lamb korma (also medium). It's difficult to decide what to have because it seems everything is pretty good. The naan bread on the side is a must! Beware though because the medium is still very spicy so if you don't like very spicy food try the mild.

The service is great too & the owner is very friendly & tries to go the extra mile. Prices are reasonable considering the food is of a high quality & the portions are good.

The only reason I didn't give it a rating of 5 is because the naan bread is a little bit better at other places. But this place really deserves local support!

Only ever get takeaways from Taal and the food is always great. I like hot indian food and they do not dissapoint if you order the hot option.

Great place for really good Indian take-aways . The samoosas are delicious and the mild rotti wraps is just spicy enough not to kill the flavour.

We found this small restaurant when we went to the Farm City store. It's a small restaurant without too much of decor but the food and the price is absolutely great!!

My husband and I have been here many times and we always order a tandoori grill platter for two, one curry, and one naan bread. It is very filling for two and we never got disappointed.

This restaurant however does not create fancy, exotic dining atmosphere but whenever we feel like having some good Indian food, this is the place we always go to.
