Review Cappuccinos The Grove - Pretoria

Mark Chimes
Large restaurant in the mall. Has lots of outside seating as well with views over the open square within the mall so you can watch shoppers and passersby. Very pleasant atmosphere. Open in the evenings as well. Food is great. Is licenced to sell liqour as well. Nice menu choices.

I must say i have not been at a Cappuccinos in a couple of years, and man, was i surprised! The service was really good and the staff was very friendly. But i was really surprised by the portion size we received, and that was really good value for money! I would definitely recommend a visit here!

One of the servers, Trevor, took a liking to our boisterous young toddler who was fascinated with the wood fire pizza oven and brought her some dough and toppings to make her own pizza and he showed her how it goes into the oven which was a highlight for her! Such a thoughtful, joyful person! The other servers and pizza guys were also a delight and the pasta and pizza were delicious and fresh!

Service was amazing, the staff is very friendly and they do regular checkups to see if everything is still good. The food was okay, but the dessert was amazing, I had their Oreo waffle, however it literally only came with one Oreo ๐Ÿ˜‚ The Cappuccino was very bitter, but the Long Island was perfect. All in all I enjoyed myself and would come back.

What a lovely family restaurant! We always enjoy eating here. From the kids meals to the Stramboli or steak, it's always a good experience. Had a medium steak today, that was cooked to perfection. It was a succulent, moist and tasty rump. Memory, the floor manager, is also friendly and professional and we've come to enjoy seeing her when we visit. All the staff is friendly and helpful, such a joy to eat here. Keep up die good service guys. 5 stars!!!

I came to Cappuccinos with my family and we really enjoyed the food. The food was very delicious. However, I ordered fish and chips for my daughter but the fish doesn't taste good at all. That's the only complaint, otherwise, the pesto pasta and cheese burger were amazing and very big in portion.

What an amazing experience we had at Cappuccinos! Both my pasta and my wife's pasta was so well prepared and very tasty! The other food that passed our table also looked very good. Can recommend Cappuccinos the Grove to everyone!

I am a big fan of Cappuccinos menu. Their pasta, pizzas and burgers are just absolutely delicious. The prices are also very affordable. This time I ordered a Chicken Supremo. The penne was al dente. The sauce was creamy and tasty. The chicken was diced into big chunks. I would have preferred smaller pieces or shredded chicken nonetheless it was delicious. My friend ordered a Cajun chicken salad. It was really light. The vegetables were fresh and crispy. They only had one salad dressing option but it was okay. We didn't order drinks because we were actually quite full but they have an excellent drinks menu for non-alcoholics.

Always a pleasure to dine here or just stop by for a quick coffee or drink. Very good food at great prices and the service is friendly and speedy. You can sit inside or outside under a roof, all very comfortable. GREAT upgrade for this already wonderful restaurant! Love the new look! Well done!

Fantastic experience again. Very good service. Pizzas to die for if you like plenty of filling, lots of cheese and crispy thin oven baked base. Glass of red wine went perfect with the Pizza. Good value for money.

We had a rough week after catching Covid and for the first time we started going back to the usual meals. We ordered kerb side pick up and when we got home was astounded by the presentation of the food and the impeccable service.

Service was 100%, Quick and effortless.
Food was avarage.
Chips were lukewarm to cold and tasteless.
Biggest issue was cleanliness.
Practicly every item on our table had dirty fingerprints. The salt pot had old greasy prints on,
Our food plate had multiple dirty fingerprints.
Our cutlery had fingerprints on and our extra plates had not been cleaned properly.
The service was good. For the main I had chicken cordon bleu served with salad and cream spinach. The chicken and stuffing were good, the bread crumb coating was not good. My friend had fried calamari with salad which was good. I then had a slice of carrot cake... it was massive! Largest cake slice I've ever been served. Unfortunately it tasted like it had been left over from two days ago. And their cutlery... they don't have cake forks.

I have enjoyed the seafood pasta. Just delicious!!
We are on regular basis there and we have never been disappointed.

Current average rating doesnโ€™t reflect the food quality and the friendly attentive service.

Went for pasta at Cappucinos at the Grove after a movie.
Cappucinos portions are very satisfying, I could only savour half and took the rest home.
The beef lasagne was lovely and so was the Bolognaise and the Del Mare. But the Pomodoro was just alright, slightly bland.
Stayed for some dessert: strawberry cheesecake and choc-mousse cheesecake which both were quite standard - although lacking a bit of freshness.

Chocolate Moose cake with ice cream and a cup of red cappuccino. Cake was soft and moist, and not too sweet, just the right amount of sweet to satisfy the taste buds without a sugar overload. Generous portion too. Good service with a smile to make it a pleasant experience.

Cappuccinos is definitely on the list of my favourite restaurants due to their good food and good service . The branch at the Grove is no exception.
In the midst of the cold front , we were welcomed by friendly service , and staff who were willing to make place for us inside.
Despite the restaurant being relatively full, our food was prepared quite quickly and the service was ever pleasant . Their focaccia bread with herb paired with the squid head starter proved to be a good choice. However, the vanilla cappuccino was the highlight of my lunch.
I was quite impressed to see that they had heaters outside and provided blankets for those seated outside.

Wanted to grab something italian before i hit the road i decided to Cappucinos a visit. From the onset the staff just welcomed me in to make me comfortable and relaxed.

The food was pretty good. I had a lovely beef lasagne which was warm and harty. A mental note for when it starts to get a bit chilly here. Have some lasagne! Maybe throw in a jalapeno or two.

So overall this experience passes just on average. Nothing great but nothing bad either. Service is okay but the waiters can at times be away for too long. The pizzas and pastas are good. I will be back again and overall it is a cool dining experience.

Cappucinos is a well trusted brand. The branch at The Grove lives up to expectations. It looks out to the food court and the pretty Wild Olive trees. On Mondays they have a special on Pasta and Pizza, comforting staples. My Lasagne was tasty, nourishing and satisfying. I added fresh chopped chilies.
Service friendly and food came out fast.

Went out for dinner and omw there pasta and pizza is amazing sometimes one can't make a choice whether u want the pasta or pizza sometime we tend to have both can't decide. There pasta that we had was a broccoli and cream vegetarian pasta but let me tell u phenomenal!! And so was the pizza had a meaty pizza. The service and management and staff very great. Always feel welcome there! As they already know us as we go so often

I used to eat out at Cappuccinos often back in the day. I have never had a bad meal here and it's always a pleasant experience. Nothing too memorable though. It's not really a restaurant that I frequent often anymore.

The restaurant was extremely busy when we arrived with my parents in law, the service was non existent from the beginning. Our waiter was difficult to get hold of and didn't really bother about checking on us. It took a long time for our drinks to replenished.

We ordered the chicken schnitzel, the Swiss burger with chili cheese fries, a chicken salad and the ice cream with chocolate sauce.

The schnitzel was alright. It didn't have any seasoning and was a bit on the dry side. The side of creamed veg was not too bad and the cheese sauce was ok.

Over all quite average. My father in law who had the burger said that it was nice, but my mother in law was not impressed with her salad, specially for the price. The amount of ingredients were minimal.

My partner had the ice cream and chocolate sauce and he enjoyed it saying that the ice cream was very creamy.

Late breakfast at Cappuccinos. A place with a nice atmosphere and obviously they make good coffee (or else a name -change will will be in order). I had the South African Breakfast with an extra cheese griller and my companion had the Bacon Benedict. Both meals were really well prepared and tasty with the eggs done perfectly as you order them (a rare feat). Service was very good, so I will be back!

I always love going to Cappuccinos. I love how big and open the restaurant is, especially when it comes to seating. I always eat their pizza, but today I decided to go with the Chicken Breast, and it was amazing. Very well prepared and great service with it. Thank you Cappuccinos.

Fast and friendly service. Situated in a mall but with outside seating overlooking an interesting courtyard.
Breakfast was good but needed salt.

Quite a good outlet, with pleasant service and the food is on a good standard. They also have some good specials and a great, family friendly atmosphere. Recommendable.

A cool and spacious cafe perfect for a quiet and relaxed meal on any day. Nothing is exceptional about Cappuccinos food but I'd say not to have the salads. Each time I've been there and ordered a salad it was just romaine or butter leaves with no rocket or any other leafs that would make a salad a wholesome dish. A friend of mine also had a similar experience with her salad and the manager on duty that day flat out refused to add anything to it to make it more palatable. At least on one occasion I was able to get some Asian leaves added to my salad for better taste. They have great burgers and pizzas and the pasta is also not too bad. Their brekkie is cool too. Very generous servings. But be warned - overall the place is pricey. Much too pricey for what you're getting considering that it's just a cafe and not a fine dining establishment. Give it a try and see if you like it and how it compares to other franchises in the chain.

Went to Cappuccinos this morning to have breakfast. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but it was quite okay.

Really nice to be seated outside ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„.

The service was not to bad either ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

Will visit again ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

Brunch was the order of the day, popped in with friends and was left completely satisfied. Service is great. Will always return to this particular establishment.

First time eating there and I enjoyed the good and the company... had snails for a starter for the very first time and I must say, I will be coming back for them. Had pasta as a main, and it was not too bad. .. thumbs up to you!

I wasn't that impressed with their food. I had the beef & reef, calamari was nice but average all around. Their wedge type "chips" or discs or whatever they call them - DONT order them. My sister ordered a meal that said " zuchinni pasta " ... now with all this Banting going around, you expect pasta in the form of zuchinni. Which wasn't the case. It was pasta with zuchinni in it. And the way it is printed on the menu sounds like a Banting meal. So they need to sort that out, the waitress did take the food back and replaced the pasta with their zuchinni fries, which are basically just zuchinni wedeges. The boyf had a pizza, incredibly average for a place that promotes pizza. Ribs & wings had a good feedback and their halloumi starter. Can't remember what else was ordered but i won't be going back to any cappuccino's. Too many other non - takeaway options in & around jhb.

Went here for dinner with a friend and we cleverly decided to split our meal halfies because neither of us could choose between pizza or pasta. We ended up getting the Ravioli Aglio Piccante (minus the chilis) and the Pepperoni Supreme pizza (left the chilis on).

Being an avid amateur chef, my friend was quite excited to try the beef ravioli dish as this was a first - we've heard of butternut, potato, spinach.. but never beef. Unfortunately it was a dissapointment. The beef filling was not a pleasant texture of beef mince paste and the dish was so overflavored with lemon sauce that we could have been eating fish for all we knew. I like beef, I like lemon, I like ravioli.. but it just didn't work.. imagine dipping beef mince in lemonade.

The pizza was much better, tasty crust and good flavors but the chilis were overwhelming and wow very big pieces all over - it would have been nice to have less chili, in smaller pieces, spread finely over the pizza... The menu did say chili so to be fair, we were warned! Wouldn't recommend this for the kids or heat sensitive diners.

The waiter was very friendly and service was great. I would go back for a pizza minus chilis.. but steer clear of the lemon ravioli.

---
UPDATE: MARCH 2016
Went here for a cuppa with fiancรฉ and I was reminded how nice it actually is, despite my previous review and the lemon catastrophe they've convinced me to go back and try the other dishes as the atmosphere is nice and the Monday special of any pasta or pizza for R57 sure is attractive!
Again, a meal well served. Catering for kids. Management personally involved. Good food with good size portions. Ernest the waiter is exeptional. Fantastic customer service!!

This is one of my favorite cappuccinos its got such a warm and cosy feeling I have been there mid December with the sun blazing hot but felt the need to order a soup because the look is so inviting and warm. I had a steak with bacon and cheese sauce and it was cooked perfectly to my liking (medium). They have very large steak portions and most of the other food is normal sized I found that a bit random.

On the day that we went to cappuccinos the food and service was great. The food was first class. When we are in the area again it's on the list of return visits

A favourite in my Family and Friend circle! Delicious food, Good Wine. Love the new menue and new options!

Had the Beef Balsamic Salad that is also available in a pizza version.

Love the Cappuccinos with sweet cream on top - perfect after a good meal with Friends!

Mondays they have a Pizza and Pasta special, will definitely be there! โ˜†โ˜†
