This place impressed us hugely, because of the value for money specials! The food was super tasty and the portions are enormous. Will eat there again any time.
This place has a very nice ambience and is reasonably priced! Bar tenders are very friendly and always smiling! Would love to go again sometime!

Thirst @ 28 degrees East is a popular venue in the East of Pretoria.
They have much more to offer than just being a bar and the menu is quite comprehensive.
Quite a variety of craft beers and gin are available.
They also have a non-smoking side which is totally separate from the rest. The decor is very interesting, neat and tidy.
Just a pity that the smokers are allowed to take up seating right outside the door and you can smell the smoke inside. Non-smokers therefore also do not have the possibility to sit outside.
We ordered a pizza and it was really good and the service friendly.

I absolutely love this place. The staff tend to know me by name because I come so often, I'm always greeted with excitement and a good old hug. The service is fast and the waiters always have a great attitude.
Your drinks and food are always good, I've never been disappointed. The pricing is fantastic and I must say I enjoy your chicken strip basket - it's bigger than me and only costs R40! Most places charge you R70 and give you about 6 nuggets - you place about 20 in the basket. I'm delighted with this!

Thirst is a social sportsbar perfect for watching big games with friends. They have some good craft beer on offer and very friendly staff.

Excellent friendly atmosphere and service, probably one of the best bar come restaurant in Pretoria. The food is fantastic for the typical bar and restaurant cuisine, one must try the chicken strips and or the pizzas. Smoking and non-smoking is well separated with both being able to relax on the deck or inside.
When walking into thirst i was greeted by a very friendly waiter who seated me at a table that i enjoy. I love the service aswell as quility. Perfect place for a quick meal and drink. What's great is i leave satisfied every time.
Have not been here in a while, popped in Lunch Pizza & Pasta 1/2 price, and to be honest didn't expect much - but wow was I surprised!
The Pizza was fantastic. A friend of mine gad the natchos pizza - really good as well - a must try!

Now this is one of my repeat offenders. I love the Watermelon Thirst Cocktail and the wood-fired pizza and pasta special is a staple in our house. The vibe is electric and I would definitely recommend thirst for awesome pub food and a vibey experience.
Nice hang out environment, perfect for all. Service is a bit slow but I guess that's acceptable as they were quite busy. Food very affordable. especially with their everyday specials. Chicken dishes and pizza's is a must, and their ribs special is MASSIVE!! (1kg ribs)

Thirst @ 27 Degrees East is a local watering hole in Faerie Glen. Dark and smokey inside. Service by Wellington was fast & efficient.
I had Pizza Margaritha with added chilli. To drink: brandy & Gingerale with a slice of lime. The pizza's base was thin & crispy, covered with lovely melted Mozarella. Finely chopped green chilli added a pleasant heat without the burn. Delicious :)
Very nice venue for a quick snack and drink pizza are very nice try Tuesday and Thursday pizza special HALF PRICE you have to eat there no take away though. Not to bad give them a try
Lovely neighbourhood pub (and the only place we could find open on New Year's Day)! I wish I took our waiter's name, because he was really good. Ordered burgers and pizza. The food wasn't "WOW!!", but it was pretty good pub style fare. Had a good time, thank you.
We went to Thirst for a little Zomato foodie meet up some time back. Upon arrival, we were greeted with Mojitos and Margaritas. We had a delicious assortment of finger foods, which were followed by a variety of pizzas. The pizzas were not bad, but there was a deep dish style pizza which wasn't to my liking at all. On the whole, however, the experience was quite enjoyable.
Had a lovely afternoon with other foodies here! Very nice vibe, great service! The food was delicious, the drinks even better! 😉 Will definitely see me again!

I experienced Thirst @28 as part of a Zomato foodie meet up. On arrival, we were treated to jugs full of Mojito & Margarita cocktails, perfect for a Friday Pretoria summer afternoon.
To be sure, Thirst @28 is a pub and in that vein we were served baskets for starters. A great variety including mini-ribs, chicken strips, feta-stuffed chicken roll & beef kebabs among others. Altogether, it was a scrumptious selection. That which was battered had a crisp feel to it: not too crunchy & not too much batter. Just the right amount of batter & deep frying. The ingredients were fresh: especially the beef kebabs & the feta. A favorite amongst the group were the battered & deep fried feta-stuffed sweet piquante balls. A very interesting combo of flavors! My favorite were the chicken strips & the lightly breaded feta-stuffed chicken rolls. The chicken was moist, well seasoned & full of flavor & again, their feta took the cup for me. Overall, I'd say this was the winning item in the basket.
The mains was pizza, which according to several reviews including Jacaranda FM comes highly recommended as among the best in Pretoria. Unfortunately, I have to disagree with this. The pizza itself was just regular in terms of taste/flavour. IMO, the best was probably the Rib & Chorizo. Very meaty with a great tasting sauce base complementing the meat. The other selections, San Tropez & the Thirst, which is a vegetarian selection, were just alright. It's a thin base pizza, which is great but the dough base was slightly undercooked. The Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza is an interesting item on their menu. I think it's either you dig it or you don't. Way too much mozzarella IMO and not much else really for you to sink your teeth into...as much as it deep pan, it's not thick base, so there's that distinction. I thin kid you're looking for good gourmet pizza, you'll probably not like it. If you're less discerning/picky, you'll prob enjoy it especially if you're famished. It is after all pub grub.
The service was friendly and efficient. For a table out size, they didn't skip a beat. This would be a great venue for a quick lunchtime meeting, or a lazy Sat afternoon lunch, catching a big weekend game or starting your weekend on a Friday afternoon like we did.
We had such an awesome time last Friday at Thirst. We had lovely margaritas and mohito's that were just perfect to cool us off on the hot Pretoria day it was. Next up on the menu was an awesome platter with the most delicious items, my favourite item was the ribs. You can't go there and not sample the ribs. Once we had demolished the platters we were treated to a whole lot of pizza, it was amazing seeing a huge table just loaded with different pizza. All in all a great place with awesome staff. Worth a visit if you want a watering hole with good food in the east.

What an amazing foodie meetup, we started off with some delicious margaritas and Mojitos! Had some delicious starter platters that I would definitely come back for!! The service was spot on and we had the best afternoon! perfect place to go with a nice group of friends!

We got some yummie mohitos on arrival, then we started with a basket / platter that was delicious, ribs, steak, halomi and the softest chicken strips ever!

My favourite bar in the East to eat at.Thirst offers great specials on food, all throughout the week.It is important to note that this is still a bar and is maybe not suitable for kids. Some of my colleagues drives from Midrand to come and visit this bar and I am sure that is a pretty great compliment for any bar.The waiters at Thirst is mostly friendly and right on the dot, but there is once or twice that they are a bit on the slower side, but one can't expect much more, especially due to the popularity of this place and considering how busy they are.The crowd at Thirst is also quite diverse, raging from businessmen grabbing a drink after work, students enjoying a night out and families (mostly with older kids) enjoying a nice family pub lunch.I will highly recommend their pizza's, chicken strip baskets and pastas.

Perfect! Everything was great. Tasty pizza. Beer was on special and the waiters brought offered another rounds before our drinks were done. Cozy feel to the place. Some moran client almost started a physical hussle with the waiters but thanks to a quick responce from management it was sorted.
By far my most favorite "pub-lunch" place to go on a Sunday. The people are laid back, the service is always friendly, food is always good and on a Sunday i can get my Pizza and my Mojito at half price! Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but the general kindness of the staff, the casual vibe of the place and the good food makes up for it all.
Great food...I had the T-bone and asked for med rare....and it was perfect and the plate still warm...loved it...and love the vibe, will def go back for a rugby match!

I had my 21st here and it was a blast ! We had really good service , service varies unfortunately but the good pizza makes up for it ! We often go back to have a drink after work this is the place to enjoy a bar style atmoshere and relax . The place is always buzzing with people .

This pub has exceptionally good food. The pizzas are great but the deboned baby chicken and creamed spinach is what we return for time and time again. Service is not great but the food make up for it. Prices are affordable and competitive.

Great pizza and pasta! Love going there for a nice Sunday afternoon drink. When there is a rugby game, the sound could be turned down a bit so customers can hear themselves talk. Otherwise there is great entertainment and great food!

I ordered meat and seafood platters for my husbands 60th birthday bash, Wow what a surprice we got, all the guest raved about this platters, the variety, quantity and quality was in it's own class. Tastefull and yummy it 's fingerlicking GOOD, More than enough food and great value for money.
Thanks to management and staff it really was superb.

Have been at 28º East a couple of times and its always a pleasure, love the atmosphere on game days, gets quite busy in the evenings, the service is superb, plenty of cold beers to choose from and lots of parking around the complex… The steaks are great if your are not to fussy… Try your luck on the slots... who knows, maybe Tsogo Sun will be paying for your supper...
You definitely need to visit this place, especially on a Friday from 16:00 - 18:00 for the best cocktails in Pretoria. Very friendly staff always making you feel welcome and great manager! Thank you for the brilliant service!

I went to the other side of this venue, called Craft Exchange for an album launch and two amazing supporting acts. I heard something about the pizza. The staff is very friendly but some of the bar staff could be quicker.

Thirst is definitely one of my favorite places in the entire world! I used to come often when class was finished at varsity. The food is delicious and the specials are fantastic! You won't find a better place that really gives you bang for buck! Their chicken strips are amazing! And to top it all off the waiters working here are always friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad experience.

Absolute best chicken strips in pretoria, by far. Their prices are good and their portions are big. Service is slow but the prices and portions more than make up for it.
Quizz nights each Wednesday. It appears to be a new company trying to find its feet but the quizzes are fun and the quizzmaster is good. Overall great experience
