Review Company Social Brasserie - Pretoria

Hospitality, service, drinks, food and price... Excellent! Their pulled pork sandwich! If I was on death row, I'd have it as my last meal.

Went on Friday evening, there was quite a bit happening but the service was great and friendly. Half price cocktails obviously made the night better 😆👊, the prices allowed you to taste the different concoctions 😋. It would be nice if the menu had the basics like a plain mojito/margherita. Other than that, great vibe... Will be back.

Nice and unique spot in case you like exploring places.
Very nice food, clean restaurant and perfect toilets.
They are original with their way of dishing up.
I strongly recommend you to try this restaurant.

This is a favourite lunchtime spot. I love the decor, and the vibe is usually very chilled and relaxed. Their platters to share (company shares) are super delicious. Lots of fun cocktails on the menu, as well as a very good selection of craft beers. In short, the ideal spot for a long and lazy lunch (which is normally my 'WIN!' criteria!

Company social is situated in pretty trendy block in Menlyn. With the News Cafe and Cubana next door, it makes for a buzzing Friday night.

Since the intention was to have a chilled evening, we ordered platters and some drinks. We started with the Brasserie platter for two. While there are a few nice items here, by far my favourite would be the pulled pork cones.
Id order the platter again just for the cones!

A few mojito's later and we decided to grab the ocean platter. The winners for me were the grilled calamari with stuffed Danish feta and the beer steamed mussels... I mean come on... Beer steamed bra!

The best part of the evening turned out to be the DJ, which kept the place rocking! Boom son!

Eating at Company Social Basserie was such a treat! It has a modern feel with attractive decor. The cocktails are exciting and very different. My favorite was Elderberry Sorbetto. It was cold, refreshing and had a delicious flavor.

We shared the platters which were amazing. I tasted almost everything! The prawns, calamari and chicken wings were delicious! We also shared some delicious salads which were generous, fresh and very tasty. Lastly, we tried some pizzas which were also really nice!

The service was friendly, attentive and very helpful. I'd love to come back here again!

Great!!! Spot, took my boyfriend there for his birthday today and we both ENJOYED. Love the food, drinks, desserts, atmosphere. The waitress was best and as short as me lol. I love the place and would definitely go back.
Maggie
The platters at Company Social Brasserie are absolutely delicious. They are full of flavour and packed with a variety of food items. I attended a party here and I will definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.

I have wanted to eat here for a while, but I never got the chance, so I figured that a nice relaxed early Sunday lunch would be the perfect time.

When we arrived the hostess greeted us and showed us to our table. The waiter was good but a bit slow at times, even though the restaurant was empty. The decor is very hip and cool and to my style.

My partner ordered the gourmet creme brule milkshake, 250ml for R50. Ridiculous in price of you ask me. I really felt that it was a rip off. I ordered a coke light. I orginaly wanted to order a cappuccino with cream, but the price was also so high thag I changed my mind. What was bizzare was that the salt and pepper were in tiny jam jars (cute) yet unhygienic as everyone sticks there fingers in there to use it.

We ordered the ocean platter for 2 and the roasted red pepper and chicken salad. The platter consisted of 6 prawns, fish goujons, crispy squid tentacles, baby calamari stuffed with Danish feta, coleslaw, aoli, mussels steamed in beer and potato wedges. Everything on the platter was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. The sauce that the mussels came in was one of the best that I have ever tasted. The aoli and coleslaw were divine and the potatoe wedges were hot, crisp and fluffy. The platter was also very filling, so it was good value for money.

The roasted red pepper and chicken salad was also delicious. It is hard to find a place that makes amazing salads that don't cost as much as a good steak dinner. Everything was well balanced, the ingredients were abundant and the chicken was soft and succulent.

I had a great time and I will definitely be back. I am getting hungry now as I am writing this review (haha!) It shows you just how amazing all the food was.
Kirsty
It's a great setting and decor. Reviews looked good when I checked. Quality of the food was however, very inconsistent. Pork belly skewer is excellent and large 5/5, butter chicken was tasty but TINY portion. Would have been nice to be warned about the minute nature of this dish. Sorbet was over frozen and powdery, crumbled rather than melted. Our waiter was very friendly and tried very hard but fell below par in delivering food service.

We went there for lunch yesterday.
My son and my hubby had the Co. Beef Burger and I had their Pulled Pork Sandwich.
Food was amazing! Staff were friendly.
See you soon!

I often have meetings at this joint during the day, and it's quite nice. Toward the evening they get busy and the atmosphere sets in. I absolutely love the cocktails and variety of drinks in general. Coffee is quite a good and although ignorant of the blend I love it. Haven't eaten an actual meal but in terms of the light snacks I have to highlight their jalapeño poppers as the king in this area. Staff are very attentive.

Quite fond (slightly in love) with Company Social Brasserie. I've been here a few times, mostly for breakfast, and I always leave happy and full. Our last visit we gobbled up some burgers (250g patties) and luckily I could take some snaps before it all ended in mah tummy! :)

Best place ever!! They have a great selection of craft beer at reasonable prices and the decor is unorthodox. Real place for hipsters. The service was great and snappy the beer was excellent and the foid was supurb. Great place to have a social drink with your friends and an even better place to eat. This place has hit the number one spot on my restaurant list!!
Jacqueline Meyer
Amazing food, good service and a great vibe. Never disappointed when we go there. The manager is very helpful and always goes out of his way! A definite must if you have not been there before.
James Marsh
This is a great new place that opened up in the Menlyn area. The manager/ owner is so friendly and helpful and really goes out of his way to accommodate and assist us. The restaurant has a great vibe and ambiance and interior with a big open space that is well lit! And a cozy fire in the winter! The menu is great! With good food and drinks! Will definitely be returning.

I immediately regretted not ordering their one of their burgers ( they looked so yum) their wings were just horrible, felt like I was eating crackling! They just spent too much time in the deep fryer the basting couldn't even help take away the burnt tatse.

My first experience here wasn't the best but I am willing to give it another go. Besides their crappy food, the fact that they gave us dirty cups to drink our tea from, the restaurant is quite cute. Their staff needs to get it together though! How do you give out dirty cups to customers??!
Fadimatou Soulemanou
Service wasnt what i would expect from such an establishment. Waiter took forever to take our orders and bring our food and drinks. The wait for our bill and the machine to swipe was also unacceptable.
Apart from that all was ok expect that we were freezing cold.
Gary Bloom
Initial vibe: (+/-)We had a family brunch and walked in at 11am. That time of the day and on a Sunday it just felt like an empty warehouse with some tables in it. I love the decor though and someone clearly did their homework, fireplace is a nice touch and it was nice and warm. I did find that some of the chairs make you feel like you need a cushion or 2 to boost you up and I'm 6ft. Waitress was friendly and greeted us with a smile on her face.

Food/ Drink: (-)I ordered a rock shandy and came in a cool mug, the size of the drink was spot on, priced fair at about R18. I decided on the lamb burger as I've always wanted to try it. I ordered it med. It came with a mug of chips/ potato wedges that were very nice. The Burger...decent size with fresh salads and a nice toasted bun. That's where the goodness ends I'm sad to say. The burger was cooked more to well done and was bland. I was hoping for some lamb flavour, but was sad that it just did nothing for my taste buds. The pairing of mint and lamb should be a match made in heaven, but there was little to no mint in the salsa. The yogurt with cucumber (tzatziki?) was fresh and also should of given it a great Mediterranean fling, (being paired with lamb), but it didn't.

Ps, the craft beers......I was happy to see that.

Value for money: (+)I found the prices to be pretty fair. Burger was R85 and my drink was R18. No complaints there.

Overall verdict: (-)Personally, I don't do the whole "pay for hipness" thing with a restaurant, but this place has potential. My 2.5 rating is down to the food, it was average. People would rate this place higher on the decor and vibe (at night more than likely) alone.
Kananelo Sebati
Had a great experience with friends and family. The tasting boards are loads of fun to try and our initial waiter was really helpful in selecting the right craft brew to taste. For the fussy foodie like me there were enough veggie options to keep me happy. For a quiet afternoon service was a bit slow. Will definately go back even if its just for the Fransen No 3 Cream Ale.
Laura-kim Le Roux
Absolutely love this restaurant. Stunning work area, friendly staff and yummy reasonably priced food!! They have a lemon and lime tea that is super yummy
Anthea Chittenden
Such a nice spot for a brunch business meeting during a weekday as spacious. I would love to experience this spot on a weekend eve as sure it must be festive! Sitting outside, though a smoking section was pleasant, if hot their cooling mist system will keep you smiling. Food is presented beautifully and full of colour. They also have a glorious selection of Craft Cocktails and Beers. Yummy!! Will be back to try these as well as something from the "Flames" meaty menu.
Service was impeccable.
Monica Pienaar
Such a cool place! We had craft cocktails that was delicious and uniquely presented. And couldn't resist the brownie and rooibos ice cream dessert. Loved the decor - literally the way I want my kitchen to look one day :D will definitely come back soon!
Leandie Du Randt
Lovely food wow and the service is so great and amazing staff and management! We had the private dining area and it was perfect! Food is great and dessert wow!!! No complaints about this place!!! Thank you guys!!
Raoul
Thanks to Ockert and his team for realizing how important business is in this day and age. I went back and hence the updated review. The positives really outweigh the negatives this time around. Probably the best tasting pizza in Pretoria is the butter chicken pizza. I know. Butter chicken in a pizza? I had my doubts but the surprise blew me away. The service and management team were way more effective. On a negative the craft beer fish was not great. Batter was way too thick and oily. I think it's the beer that does this and the taste was not spot on. All in all worth another visit soon....
Meet & Eat
Just what its name suggests: company. A really cool restaurant in Pretoria that caters to literally anyone and encourages a social dining experience, which we love. Massive amount of drink options with the best shooters and do not get us started on the food. On point, every time. Really a fantastic everyday place, if you don't want to be disappointed or can't decide what to eat - definitely come to Company!
Chelsea Natalie Le Roux
This is one of my favourite places in Pretoria.

They have the best craft cocktails & beer.
Mouthwatering food. The friendliest staff!!! It's spotless. There's no children running around/screaming.
And it's something different.

It's the perfect spot for almost any occasion. I've attended meetings there... We hosted a birthday party there. And then your regular lunch/breakfast.
Ivanna Abigail Kemp
There's a drink for literally EVERYONE. Craft beers, cocktails, conventional drinks, unconventional drinks, shots, wine and the list goes on. Service is fast, and the food seems excellent (I only had potato wedges - but they were excellent) the music reflects the day of the week AND Friday was happy hour sooooo...yay to CSB
Nicole Melissa Brooks
The Brasserie was buzzing with beautiful and young people. A hip and vibrant place to have drinks and a bite to eat before heading out for a night on the town. The menu somewhat left us disappointed, the Waygu burger was tasteless even though it was cooked to perfection. My lamb skewer was tough and undercooked. The plating is inspired and there is a variety on the drinks menu. Staff needs customer service development.
Lorraine
Hip new spot in Menlyn, awesome venue for a party as well. Great variety of craft beers for the guys, I just wouldn't buy a craft cocktail again. The meat is fantastically cooked and they have something on offer for every tastebud. The trio of artisanal ice cream is some of the best ice creams...
Mpho.modiba
Had a birthday dinner the other night there and they almost messed up my evening.

1. Got my table allocation completely wrong and had to move to a different table - I had brought in my own décor elements to bring the birthday theme alive, so a lot of items had to be moved around. My guests started arriving during the second set up making me look unprepared and late.

2. Found cling wrap in one of the rump meals - they offered us something else

3. Food was served on a cute board but with a paper that got wet and soggy, probably still trying to digest it in my stomach.

4. Music was too loud

Overall, for the set up and style of the restaurant they can really do better and pay more attention to detail. Their staff really try to go out of their way to make you happy but its the small things that count. Food as well, it can improve.

I have been here a few times now and today I had the most pleasant Sunday lunch with friends.

I am a really big fan of this place's cocktail menu. There leaves nothing to be desired. They cover all the bases and the flavor as well as the presentation of all their drinks are on point.

I had a chickpea burger(no bun) with a side salad and I could hardly finish it all. It was a really delicious and satisfying meal and really cost effective considering it was only R45.

This is one of my favorites so far and I would come here with both my friends on a night out and my parents for a relaxed lunch.

Definitely worth checking out.
Stewart Van Graan
That beef burger was great. Thank you to Ray my waiter for great service! Had some admin to catch up in the 'business center. Love the vibe. Thanks guys

I was really looking forward to our Sunday lunch at the Company Social Brasserie. The restaurant was relatively quite and really not much of an ambience going. We had the fillet steak on the bone, rump steak, chicken and red pepper salad, chicken and red pepper pizza. The dishes were attractive and well presented. We had a compliant about the salad and management rectified this. The staff were pleasant. Overall, the food was good but not great!
Juandra Boshoff
Love it! More classy braft beer & wine & good food. It has a bit of a modern french style! We had our engagement party there. Really good at organised personal events!
Eugenie Herbst
Cool weekend hang out! Casual dining experience with typical craft beer flair. But definitely not a common pub. Very nicely decorated. Food presented on wooden boards and tin cups. Very rustic but with a sophisticated charm. Great outdoor space to enjoy with friends whilst watching rugby (or whatever sports are on)
The cocktail menu is very cool and unique!!
Nadja Louw
Great place with good food and drink options, the menu is very interesting and the wine choices are unique, some of which you do not find in the shops. We were there on a Friday and had the fish special which was delicious and great value for money.
Cara&Terence
This is a relatively new contender on the very popular craft beer scene. Nothing too special about the craft beer but they have some interesting features. The venue is spacious and relaxed, the food is full bodied and the atmosphere is young and energetic. The steaks have the most amazing sauce and the homemade coleslaw is a winner. We have tried the platters as well and they are a tad over priced for what you get. There's a patio area outside which is good for hot nights.
Frederik Cronje
The beer and drinks were awesome. I had the 300g Sirlion with mushroom sauce and pap cakes. The sirlion was grilled correctly but so tough to chew and hard to cut with a normal knife. I was not even offered a steak knife. If you come from the plaas and you order pap cakes it should not be 3 small rolled pap cakes with sauce on top.. Really dissapointed in a place I looked forward to experience
Elizabeth Brown
Went their for dinner with husband and future son-in-law. Had the most amazing steak ever, for is excellent. Service is good. Only thing was the music kept getting louder and louder as the evening went on. Otherwise food AWESOME!!!!
Karin Heijboer
A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!

We ordered the Ocean Dwellers platter for 2 - firstly, how can you serve 3 prawns on a platter for TWO? the portions were tiny! Rather make it R200 or slightly more and serve more food which is sufficient for two people. We then ordered a pizza as we were still hungry. We ordered a PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM Pizza. The pizza had button mushrooms, and there were not very many mushrooms!

The waiters were ok, the drinks were good.

The food was not just a disappointment but also an insult in terms of portion size (the ocean dwellers platter) and honesty (there is a significant difference between a button mushroom and a portobello mushroom!).

I will never go again and will not recommend it to anyone. When we left we felt it had been a waste of money.

After roaming the #Zomato app the entire morning for a place to have lunch, I stumbled across Company. Upon arrival, the hostess was not the friendliest of people but anyway. Our waiter, Emmamuel, very friendly and admitted he's still new so we were very patient with him.
I ordered a vanilla milkshake and the beef burger with coleslaw. My partner had the lamb burger with chips and a milkshake. We both asked for our patties to be well done but they were uncooked in the middle. The food tastes average. There was a fly that would not go away which was very annoying. Presentation is beautiful. I'll probably come back to try more from their menu.
I love the decor and layout of the restaurant - reason why I didn't rate it so low, it's just a pity the outside seating is a smoking area.
I would recommend this place if you are a craft beer lover. They have plenty of options to choose from.
Sagren Reddy
It was my first visit. We unfortunately got the too late as the kitchen was closed, so we only had coffees and desserts, and they were awesome! Especially the ice creams. The atmosphere was great and the service was good. I am going back to try the rest of the menu...we had pizzas this time around (I recommend the butter chicken)
JoMo
Funky and modern vibe. Fair assortment of craft beers and decent menu with some delicious modernised take on traditional bar foods. Great place for mates to meet for an classy evening.
PJ
Beautiful venue, love the decor. The beer list interesting and the wine list is interesting. I love that I get the opportunity in Pretoria to explore wonderfully different boutique wines from South Africa. The service does not match the venues feel because it lacks the energy and life of the venue. Food is beautifully presented but lacks an authentic and fresh flavour that one expects from a place like this.
Quintin
Had an early Sunday dinner and me and my girlfriend were very impressed.
The Service was awesome and our Waiter Simon was on the ball.
Awesome food ,awesome craft beer and craft cocktails.
10/10 Guys! You will see us again :-)
Francois.kanfer
Tried the breakfast on a Saturday morning. How difficult is it to cook a proper breakfast? Our breakfast came with the eggs still half raw. Hopefully they are better with lunches/dinners?
Lizanne
Been dying to try out this place as reviews always look good.
Proud to say that I've finally paid a visit and was surely impressed enought to make annual visits.

The space this place offers its diners insures that you can have a quality experience with fellow mates.

We tried the vegetarian burger as well as the chicken and roasted pepper salad. The chick pea burger patty was extremely tasty and flavourful. The bun was fresh and the coleslaw was sweet and crunchy.

The salad was also very nice with all the ingredients being super fresh and the chicken very well seasoned and cooked just right.

We then spoiled ourselves with the trio of ice cream. PB, Vanilla bean and the best of all the Rooibos. The ice cream lacked a bit of creaminess but was still delicious.

Was most impressed with the reasonable prices. Definitely worth the visit.
Nita
This is my second time here. I loved it so much the first time, that I dragged my family there. Upon arrival, we wanted to sit outside, but it is only reserved for smokers. Seems a bit unfair to punish non-smokers to have to sit inside, where there were no customers and nothing to observe.
I then ordered the cocktail that I love so much, only to be told that they don't serve it with the syringy thingy anymore. It felt kinda different from everywhere else, as no one does this to a cocktail. It just gives it such great character. I was disappointed, to say the least.
The food was good, but my excitement of going back was dampened.

Nine of us from The First Friday of the Month Lunch Club descended upon Company social brasserie on New Year's Day from Johannesburg. We were warmly welcomed by staff who probably would have preferred to be home with their families.

There were plenty of craft beers to choose from and the house white was really refreshing in the heatwave conditions of this summer.

We chose the Company Shares platters for our rowdy bunch and everything was absolutely delicious - the pork belly on skewers was tender and juicy. The lamb riblets were stunning. The bitter ballen were an absolute hit; they just vanished in seconds. There were pulled pork cones that were so moreish that we were fighting over them. And don't even mention the chicken wings!!! The best we've ever eaten.

And then we ended with desserts, every one different and interesting and not the usual run of the mill "lazy chef" selection that most restaurants resort to.

Look out Pretoria foodies - Joburg has discovered you and WE WILL BE BACK!!!
Rebeca Clark
Second time I came, first time I have no complaints, brought some friends along this time and I really regret.
Warm beer, moldy bun and apparently there was no more to replace my meal even though we saw other burgers going to other tables, took at least 20min for a simple cocktail to be delivered, one of the waiters kept forgetting our orders and kept taking our plates before we were finished. Terrible experience.
Bathrooms were disgusting, looks awesome but smelt terrible.

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in 2015. I wish I knew about it sooner! My brother took me here yesterday and I was instantly impressed with their outside seating area. My brother and I had the Grilled platter for two. The meat was cooked to perfection and the coleslaw was a good side. I loved their original use of wooden boards as a side plate. They have a lovely selection of music from alternative rock, to indie and a little bit of rnb. I loved how different it is to any restaurant I've been to. Nothing impressed me more than the presentation of the drink I ordered. It was called the Chocolate Negroni and I give it a 10/10 for presentation. Unfortunately my first drink came with a dead bee inside but the waiter quickly fixed me up another one so I wasn't too upset. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I'd recommend that you go early afternoon just because you get to appreciate its beauty while it's still light out. In the evening you have the surrounding pubs that get a bit loud and it kinda ruins the vibe more than enhance it. Friendly staff, good music, good vibe, good drinks. What more can one ask for in a restaurant?
Tuahnee Coetzee
Been here a couple of times and this place is the best! I am a wine drinker and my husband a beer drinker and we are both happy! You can choose between anything you want! And dont get me started on the food! Perfectly prepared every single time!! This is definitely the go to spot for craft beer fundies and food fundies! Just sit down and relax, you are in good hands with the staff!!

Today we had an amazing lunch at company social. We were a bit skeptical about going because we thought it wouldn't be child friendly but it was such a pleasant surprise. The food is great, service is great and although there is no baby room, the did allow us to use their cozy and comfortable "lounge room". You must try company social!
Sarah Simmons
Love the amazing and creative choice of drinks... Food was super yummy, great vibe! Definitely something different... Great addition to Pretoria 😁

A first visit to Company Social Brasserie after we saw really good reviews by our fellow foodies. 😄😄

The location is perfect for us. Just down the road 😊. A pleasant surprise. And I have to mention that the service was better than average.

Although they have a very limited variety of vegetarian dishes, they accomodated us at no extra cost. And the food was divine 😄😄. Well worth writing home about. As an added benefit they have a choice of draught beers on tap and bottled.

We'll be back 😄😄

We had supper at Company Social Brasserie after if came highly recommend by top foodies in Pretoria. I all honesty there's nothing to ride home about. The service was slow. The food was average. We had the Brasserie platter for two. The bitterballen was the highlight for me.
Andrew Treu
Upmarket, modern restaurant with nice open spaces. Lots of craft beer and wine on the menu all reasonably priced. Good wholesome food. Good service albeit a little intrusive.
Wilna Bester
Unquestionably a high end gastro pub. We ordered craft beer (Devils Peak Lager & Darling Bone Crusher) and had Raspberry Bottled Mule with plenty of ice. Uplifting during this Gauteng heat wave. Ginger ale or ginger beer is my favourite ingredient in a cocktail. This mule had ginger beer and thyme, a winning combination.
The Brasserie Platter for 2 is well balanced and generous. Tantalizing assortment of flavour & texture. It consists of grilled lamb riblets, thick hand cut potato chips, coleslaw, bitterballen, pork crackling, jalapeno spring rolls and pulled pork cones with purple horseradish.
Two sauces - aöli and sweet mustard complemented the snacks. Finger licking good.
Good service from the floor manager JR and waiter Simon.

Companie Social Brasserie was Maandagaand rustig. Goeie agtergrondmusiek. Oor naweke kook dit! Ons kon die Brasserie skottel vir twee nie opeet nie. Liplekker verskeidenheid eetgoed, goeie balans wat betref geur & tekstuur. Heerlike mengeldrankie en mikro bier.
Melissa Combrink
Such a cool new restaurant to go to for after work drinks! The vibe and decor are intriguing and something totally different! The service is also good.

If you haven't yet stopped in at @companysocialbrasserie, you wouldn't have had the amazing chicken sandwich, which means you wouldn't have experienced a bit of heaven.
This grilled chicken sandwich is something of an explosion of flavour in your mouth. Served with your choice of chips, coleslaw or salad, this brie-rocket-berry-sauce delight will leave your mouth dancing long after you've left. Wow!
Paired well with a @capebrewingco Cape of Good Hops IPA, you'll want to both goggle it down and favour every bite. Tender, juicy, fresh, perfect.
The manager, Olivia, suggested that I next time I order it with extra bacon and I was like "YES!"
Needless to say I'll be back.
#companysocial #food #foodlovers #wine #craftbeer #drinklocal #beerporn #foodporn #cbc #capebrewingcompany #ipa #hophead #capeofgoodhops #menlyn #zomatosa #recipe #cooking #inspiration #review #monday #goodtimes #yum #delicious #eatout #dineout

Let me start back-to-front - when I was digging into this delectable, out of this world sandwich - what a strange twist of irony - Sinead 'O Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" was blurring softly on the speakers....

Ambience = 5. What I heard about this place was nothing compared to what I witnessed - a breath of fresh air to cuisine scene in Pretoria East! Very pleasing to every sense. The workstations with free wifi and boardroom are a game changer - why do you need to go to office when you can bring office here and eat, live, and work? 😉

Food = .....yes, nothing compares to the pulled pork sandwich that I tucked into. A big 5 right there. This is how a pulled pork sandwich should taste and roll like - chunky, moist pieces of pork, served with red cabbage and coleslaw with a twist. What definitely holds this dish together is the feta blended with double cream plain yoghurt and a bit of jalapeños which bring out that bit of fiery taste in the sauce - what a fusion!

Menu quite exhaustive - with a lot of other dishes I would definitely like to try - like their Wagyu burger - very reasonably priced, still under R100!

Wine = 5. Quite an impressive list - even better complemented by even a more extensive craft beer menu. They even have that elusive Soweto Gold craft which has been making headlines - for the right reasons that is.

Service = 2.5. A bit laid back. This is one area they will have to work hard on.

Overall - this is going to grow on me.... Sold on the first bite....

A fresh look and great concept. It was my first visit to this relatively new restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the clever decor and also experienced some serious internal struggles to decide what to eat.
Their house wine's is very very good and relatively well priced.
Their Chicken and nut salad did not disappoint and their platters are a must. All the dishes are displayed clever and left me wanting more.

This place will definitely see me time and time again. It was a pleasure.

Great place to chill, l have visited the place twice since it opened , great food , great service , the only dreary experience was an encounter with the indian manager Greg , we saw him twice verbally abuse staff infront of patrons , he has never visited our table at any given moment we were there, our last visit we were seated by the smoking deck , he sat on an adjacent table to us and smoked the whole time only to call one waiter and verbally abuse him , l stood up and went to meet the waiter at the bar to ask why they dont report such abuse to the owners he told me that he had just fined him R100 for not emptying his astray, thats pathetic , abusive and un professional , later on our way out he was seated on a barrel still smoking he jumped to come say good bye to us thats when he introduced himself to us , we gave him a cold shoulder because he never greeted us as customers the whole time we dined there, good place we will be back but only to put him in his place this time around.
André Van Der Westhuizen
What an amazing experience! From the décor, the vibe, the food and the people, we really had a great time last night. We will be back for even more! Thank you Company Social Brasserie for a venue / place / setting that creates it own standards and foodie-norms! I socially salute you!

I had a really pleasant experience at Company Social Brassiere. I had heard about the spot opening in Menlyn and decided to try it out. The menu has really interesting options. I ordered the Vanilla Pinotage & Aperol Mojito which came with a little syringe with flavour while my friend ordered Company Tea for Two which came in a lovely teapot. The food was great. I placed an order for the Parma Ham and Rocket pizza. I really like the atmosphere that was created inside. Service left a bit much to be desired but I think I'll be back.

Trying new things are always high on our priority list and Company Social Brasserie was right up there for a must try. A friendly warm welcome from the manager Nico set the tone for restaurant. An elegant and classy atmosphere with a relaxed vibe and fresh decor. This makes it very easy to sit back and enjoy some must try refreshments. The raspberry fizz pop shooters and the custard slices ignites your palette and helps to ease your way through a few cold ones before settling down for something to eat. The wooden serving boards, tin plates and cups are par for the coarse but add to the atmosphere. The beetroot and goats cheese salad was fresh and crisp with a well portioned cheese burger, chips and a must try coleslaw. A stronger cheese would make the burger's flavors come alive. The 200g open steak sandwich was a let down, the rump was either a bad cut or their open sandwiches meat is of average quality, however all the flavors from the creamed mushrooms, caramelized onions and rocket on the fresh ciabatta were well balanced and almost made up for the bad rump. I would have been upset had I ordered a 500g rump for R169 and it was of the same quality steak. On the whole a great place to start you weekend off with friends and enjoy some good company!
I Love Pretoria
Progress in the Pretoria restaurant scene is undeniable. With so many options and a crowd that is increasingly becoming more aware of their environment and the quality of the food they are eating, originality and personality are key in determining the success of a new eatery.

We returned to Company, a modern new establishment in Menlyn Square, to see what they had to offer. Our previous visit yielded some amazing food, drinks and an amazing atmosphere, but was a bit tainted by bad service from a new waiter. We thus wanted to experience the place again, with a different waiter, and boy, were we pleased that we had decided to do so.

Company Social Brasserie's name is 100% appropriate, as the entire concept is built around the idea of keeping good company, with a range of amazing menu choices for sharing, as well as some nice specials on shooters for groups of people. (Do yourself a favour and choose Company for your after work drinks, you won't be sorry.)

As mentioned previously, their food is top notch. Great value for money and high quality local ingredients means that you can have a 5-star meal that will leave you satisfied for an affordable price. Everything, from the bread, to the wedges and the mouth-watering sauces , is handmade and super fresh.

The decor is modern contemporary cool, with an atmosphere to match and an extensive wine list and impressive selection of craft beers on tap that will make you want to stay a little longer.

Awesome! We had the Wagyu beef burger and Brasserie Company shares platter and both were amazing! Juicy, lots of flavour and just all round great food! Atmosphere also inviting and warm. Great for a first date 😉 loved it!

What is there to say? A contemporary rustic look with great food (specific reference to Wagyu burgers and steaks). This is bound to be one of the trendiest places in Pretoria for the foreseeable future.
Lovely atmosphere, a true Cape Tonian vibe as if you were sitting somewhere on Long street. Deco is urban. Cocktails absolutely unique and divine! Don't leave without trying one! Good selection of craft beers for good prices. Food great value for money!

The first thing I noticed when I walked is that this restaurant has ample space. Can only imagine how busy it gets on a Friday night. The service is great! It's about time a craft restaurant hits Pta, well one with amazing decor. Food is delicious. Can't wait to again!

I went for lunch with my friend and loved the decor, food and vibe! The staff were very quick and friendly. The menu showed a fresh spin on your normal chicken sandwich. Would definitely return soon!

Came here with my bestie for Sunday pm drinks in an effort to cool down from the heatwave gripping Gauteng. After having read great reviews about the cocktails in particular I was looking forward to trying this new spot given that me & bestie's quest for proper cocktails in Pretoria has all been futile. Unfortunately, it's another place that disappointed in that regard. We ordered the Company Tea for 2 & well, let's say it was more everything else than the gin, which is the spirit they use to make it. We told the manager that we'd been looking for a cocktail with a punch & not iced tea disguised as a cocktail and she offered to bring us their Long Island Ice Tea. She said that the Tea for 2 was intentionally meant to be more tea than gin. Really? Seems all places here think a cocktail is more the juice/triple sec/mixer than the spirit(s). No. It breaks my heart. Well their LIIT was equally disappointing. No. More disappointing because the manager said that this was their most potent cocktail. And well disappointing because even Cubaña does NOT get the LIIT wrong in terms of potency. I just think that establishments should rather not serve cocktails if they're going to be stingy with the spirits. Really. Just leave it off the menu because I prefer to not gorge down copious amounts of juice/sugar (read calories) if there isn't even a benefit to it...said benefit being the alcoholic 'buzz' that makes any alcoholic caloric content 'worth it'. The LIIT was ginger ale mostly. I emptied the ice they'd drowned the concoction in and the drink only came up to 1/3-1/4 of the glass. Really disappointing. Well next time I'll just try their food & my trusted, go-to drink of choice - good old wine. Never disappoints & you always know exactly what you're going to get. I know I've said this before, that I'm giving up on cocktails, but I find myself giving establishments a try with their cocktails only to come up disappointed. So maybe this really is the last time. LOL. To think that Roman's Pizza Hatfield & Glen Gables still remain the best establishments in all of the general Pretoria East area not just for decent but PROPER, punchy & spot on cocktails is stupefying to say the least. So I'm still to go back here for the food because the menu did look appetizing & very reasonably priced. I did like that about their food menu. Hoping portion sizes and flavour would be on point. But I had to write this review re the cocktails, because generally they're a watering hole right? Better thought is next time I'll have craft beer, which is their specialty. All in all I'd say go here. Just don't have the cocktails. Everything else looks fabulous and worth trying and I'll certainly be back. The manager was great. She checked up on us regularly and was friendly even though our waiter didn't seem quite clued up on drinks in general (e.g. I asked him for a white wine spritzer & he looked at me blankly) and he was generally slow & a little absent minded. Also the decor is gorgeous and the place is airy & very open with ample seating. A really big establishment that can nicely accommodate the Friday & Saturday night crowds. Despite my disappointment with the cocktails I look forward to return another time because (almost) everything screams 'do come back'.

I stumbled on this little gem by mistake and absolutely love it! Working out of office a lot, they have a computer room to set up your desk with power points, a room to have meetings and a lounge to hangout and read a book. The food is not bad and the staff are super friendly! #loveThisPlace I have been coming here at least once a week.

Can't believe I have never been here before! The place has good service and modern menu.
I am not one to complain, but if anyone else had found a piece of salmon on their not-salmon pizza.... These things happen.

I will definitely coming back here for beer and pizza. And lots of it. Great stuff.

Tonight we finally gave this spot a try and I must say, I am very impressed. All the staff were very welcoming. Our waitor, Elton was clued up on everything we wanted to know and the manager, Nico was also so friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. Cocktails were generous and delicious. The highlight of the evening was the Brasserie share board we had. We had the board serving 4, for 3 of us and finished it all. Onion rings were super crisp and both them and the potato wedges were nicely seasoned. The sticky lamb ribs were slightly tough but did have a great flavour. And the roasted garlic aoli was to die for. Will definately be back again!

I've been waiting for a place like this to open up in Pretoria for a while, and good news, it was worth the wait! They have got an amazing selection of unique cocktails and craft beers, the quality of the food is excellent and the service is friendly and attentive! This is definitely a place I will be coming back to, time and time again. Do yourself a favour and try it!

Friendly service and funky decor with a good selection of craft beers & tasting menu...But unfortunately the food was a bit average, the chips with the burger weren't fresh-cut real potatoes but mass production potato wedges and the "matured cheddar" cheese tasted like something from a 5 liter squeeze bottle. Overall affordable prices.

What a wonderful place! I booked my birthday here, not knowing what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised! We had so much fun and the Raspberry Apple Fizz Shots were amazzzzing!! The service was topnotch and wow... Also the decor and design is just too wonderful.

I recommend this place to those who are not in the mood for the usual same old vibe, a rustic industrial look will woo your eyes throughout the night. Great service makes sure your food is in front of you in a jiffy ,together with a big smile as its presented in a unique way...

First of all, the decor is just so cool, the industrial yet luxurious furniture & fittings make for an awesome vibe!
I had the Butter Chicken Pizza which was divine, my husband had only good things to say about the French Cut Pork Cutlets and the service was fast & friendly. We will most definitely be back with friends & family in tow.

Love the atmosfeer and the whole restaurant has a homey yet sleek feel to it. The food is great! Had rump with hand cut chips and a mature ceddar cheese sauce (excellent!). When a restaurant makes great cuppacino you know it is good. Will become a great hangout for young professionals with great food and drink.
