The staff are extremely friendly and our waiter - Victor - who was also our barista, made amazing coffee. The cake is really good and that goes without saying. There is a wide variety to choose from, but the shining star for me on this visit was their coffee.
Also, to be NOTED: The app says you can’t get takeaways, but that is NOT true. You have the option to sit-in or takeaway (At least their deserts)
Life can be tough, but then you have places like Chateau Gateaux. I love the idea behind this shop, its all about cake. You can do take away, buy whole cakes or sit down and have cake and coffee. The staff are friendly and efficient, the quality and selection of cakes is good. They also serve a good quality coffee.
I walked in and there was quite a audience . Fortunately i did not wait long in the queue . I was surprised to see that the waiters all passed my table and constantly asked if i did not want a piece of cake or another coffee. I wish all shops service could be like this! Everyone was friendly , and helpful
The cakes are all so fresh and well made it's difficult to decide which one to get. Ended up getting the red velvet cake and there are absolutely no regrets, cake was heaven!
It's been a while since I've had a quality chocolate cake .. Well I bought the Nostalgia chocolate cake .It was out of this world , not extremely sweet , but moist and fresh .Never disappointed with the cakes here ...
Cake cake and more cake! I love this establishment, not only can you satisfy your sweet tooth craving you can also walk out with a full cake that can last you close to over a year. The cakes are very affordable and tasty!
This is the perfect spot for coffee meetings. A chilled environment. There's also a private space with tables. A variety of decadent, yummy pastries and cakes to choose from. Service was okay. If you love pastries, you should pay them a visit!
I popped in here on Saturday for the kids. We were sitting at another establishment and they wanted a good dessert and I brought them here for something to take home. I can't comment on service. I do find the variety a bit lacking in a way. I'm only going to comment on what we bought and the quality is good. Not great but good. I will be back but not in a hurry.
16.06.2017 I couldn't believe that there was a branch here in Menlyn ( next to wellness warehouse of all things). I bought a few slices of cake for the family and it's probably the best tasting cakes I've had in a while. The Caramel Velvet is flipping amazing. The taste the texture everything is just heaven in a bite. Then you try the Rococo Chocolate Gateau and your mouth explodes with absolute yumminess. Forget the diet. Go have a piece of cake here and forget your worries.
Love this patisserie the pastries and cakes are delicious the staff is friendly and the coffee is not bad!! I'm slightly addicted to the cakes ! Mozart is my favorite , the Belgicca was also a winner . Their chocolate offerings are rich and indulgent
Just popped into this beautifully design "boutique like" coffee shop as the lattes came highly recommended. The decor is elegant, staff friendly and efficient! We ended up buying a mini tiramisu and salted caramel cheesecake, lured by their mouthwatering presentation. The coffee exceeded expectations, the cakes had perfect texture and rich flavours. I highly recommend Chateau Gateaux!
I've had a lot of cakes and I love cakes, but I'm yet to find a place with better cakes than here. My favourite is the Swiss carrot cake, which unfortunately was frozen for some reason today. Ended up having the chocolate nostalgia which is also good, but to me can never top the Swiss carrot cake. Don't ask questions, just go and taste for yourself, the staff are really friendly and give valid recommendations based on your preferences

I frequently visit Chateau Gateaux after my shifts at Menlyn to grab a cup of coffee. What attracted me to the place is the rewards programme they have: so you have to download the Chateau Gateaux app from the Google Play Android App Store and then for every hot drink you buy you earn one point. When you have reached 10 points then you receive a free hot drink and slice of cake of your choice at your next visit.
I had the Caramel Velvet and White Chocolate hot beverage. They were delicious! High quality! I want to go back and earn more points. I hope you do so too!

Fast forward to 2022, what attracts to CG is still the rewards programme where you can qualify for a free hot beverage or cake (slice). I had the Mozart this time withe the Chococcino.
(Update on 21 June 2022) The interior look and feel of the business has changed. They gave it a face lift. Now and then you might still sit at a table that wobbles, which is a defect because you might spill your coffee, which happened to me unfortunately.
It looks beautiful inside and outside. But the prices of their basic Americano has gone up unfortunately. It still looks and tastes delicious and I am attracted by the rewards programme. I haven't really paid much attention to the other prices of other products.

I couldn't find the carrot cake/Mozart 2 pack variety online but when I went to this store, it was there in the fridge so that was great! The location is good, regardless of where you might be in the mall, you won't struggle to find it. The service is good too and yes, the cake offerings are delicious. I've found a new favourite, the walnut truffle omw! 😍 I highly recommend it!

My favourite cake place. The variety available is stunning. There are slight like one or two differences between branches. Sometimes one is available at Brooklyn branch but not at menlyn etc. The service is pretty good. Staff is friendly and Wi-Fi available for 30 minutes. The cakes... nothing that I can comment on. Your enjoyment depends on your taste and each product is different. I loved every one I tasted although some are too sweet for me. Compliments to the Mozart cake though. That is one amazing cake. Worth every cent.
