Review Steak-inn - Pretoria

Although the place is a bit long in the tooth, the service has always been good, the prices have been reasonable, the gold tequila is really cheap and the burgers I've had have been excellent. Will definitely be back. Try a tequoffee....a double espresso in a large cup with a shot of silver tequila.

Needs a bit of TLC but either than that very nice place. Priced good, food not bad.

What a tasty lunch! Four adults ordered different dishes on a very interesting menu. 5 stars to the chef! Friendly fast service. Good wine and cocktail selection-safe play area for the toddlers and young children. Ample safe parking-wheelchair friendly.Cool misty sprayers helped to cool down hot temperatures outside.Seating inside or outside.Highly recommended!

I was here just as the opened for breakfast. I had the sirloin steak breakfast with 2 eggs. The prepared it exactly as ordered: a very good medium rare. The tables are great. There are tables close to the children's play area, and then more open air tables on the main deck, some tables behind wind-screens with a good balance of light, and then booths that are a bit darker. It is great to have this range of lighting conditions.

Best family restaurant in Pretoria East. Children friendly, but not annoying. Amazing South African dining - steak cooked to perfection! Service is excellent (ask for Glen if you want brilliant, professional service). If I could I'd eat here every day!

We visited your restaurant last night for the first time and received the best service, excellent food and friendly Managers and waiters. They went out of their way to prepare my food according to my diet (very few restaurants is willing to go the extra mile). Thank you for that. We will definitely be back with our friends, and more, since they were just as impressed as us.

This place really lives up the the name - if it's meat you want it amazing meat you'll get! Ribs that fall off the bone just by looking at them. Delicious! Also has a beautiful view of the pond and gardens with adjoining kids play area. Can definitely recommend.

Great place to take our two year old, Very relaxing to sit under the trees near the water, eating good food while she plays happily. (and its the first place we've been to in years that actually makes proper chips, and serves them hot!). We'll be back

Had a really good time today! They went the extra mile and Patrick our waiter was fantastic. The food is very reasonably priced and very good quality. The kids enjoyed the play area just as much.

The Steak Inn staff went out of their way to cater for our special occasion. Their friendliness, excellent service and quality food make them stand out as steakhouse. We hope to return soon.

This is another of Pretoria's unsung gems! Conveniently located just off Solomon Mahlangu Drive in the Boardwalk precinct, with loads of parking and a chilled, no pretence ambience. Beautiful views of the dam from the deck, service is efficient, food is stick to your ribs good with larger than average portions

Only been here once. Drinks were good but food was average and service was not very friendly. Still, not too bad. Would have to go again to get a better idea of the place.

Food was tastefull but UNFORTUNATELY very bad and slow service waited 60 min for food with no waiter in site had to excuse myself twice from table to speak to floor manager! It might have been busy - but no excuse for not communicating with costumers via waiters or floor managers.<br/>Will not revisit the restuarant!

Never had a bad meal here! Waiters quick and polite, food delicious (super tender steaks) and prices very reasonable! Real value for money, keep up the good work guys!

What a great find! The entire family loved it, the food was great, the staff was friendly and efficient and the play area is the perfect touch for family dining.

Been here a few times aBeen here a couple of times and it’s a very chilled place. Their meat and sauces are very delicious. Staff is very friendly. There’s also a lake around the restaurants which is so beautiful to complement the place.

Nice kiddies play area. Best Caffè Latte in Pretoria East. Have asked for special menu requests on numerous occasions and manager or owner always obliges with a massive smile and evening going the extra mile.

One would think when you come to a restaurant with a name of Steak Inn you would get the most delicious tender succulent steak ever. Wrong I had ordered a Jack Black Rump medium rare, supposed to be 300G but looked like 200G was thin and and still had a part of a sadel attached on the one side I couldn't even cut through it with a steak knife, this was very disipointing, the dish was very tasty though. All the others in the group were very happy with their steak they ordered.. Other than that it was a great evening out.

If a restaurant says it is open for breakfast one would think that this means they Can serve breakfast and Wants to serve breakfast. The service was poor, the food even worse. Nice location, lovely deck for smokers....I thought this was illegal?! Non-smokers sit inside. Don't waste time visiting this restaurant.

Very nice atmosphere sitting outside close to the lake. My fillet was great, cooked to perfection! Service is good. <br/>Only downside this afternoon was a noisy group sitting next to us.

What an enjoyable meal. Had the biltong and mushroom soup for a starter. DELICIOUS and highly recommended. Then I ordered the pepper crusted sirloin steak... perfectly prepared and tender. I would recommend you try Steak-Inn Restaurant for a good time out.@Anton Dippenaar

I have read some of the bad reviews and it is hard to believe given that I have visited this restaurant on more than 6 occasions and not once have I had a bad experience. So I truly recommend it to everyone. The food quality and taste are amazing and they have never disapointed. I do believe for this amount and taste the price is so worth it.

I went there to have a special time with my family and it was amazing!! The staff is so friendly and willing, this place has an awesome vibe for all occasions and makes it hard to forget your wonderful memory there! This was going to be a decent review before this morning. We have been here a couple times for a quick bite or a drink or even dessert and it's been good experiences. But apparently I won't set foot there again. I am trying to see how on a Sunday I am to be dictated on what I should eat. Just missed breakfast, was actually 15 min left and got a "don't give a S#&t answer from the waiter". Then I can't even order a roasted sandwich, apparently taking two slices of bread, putting 2 slices of bacon, an egg and a little cheese, and toasting it is way to difficult on a Sunday. I don't want to eat a full meal at 11h15, and that is my poragative. I can understand breakfast service to a point. But a simple sandwich as a NO. I don't need to be back, not really cared if you think my review or my money is not welcome. But for a place that is empty to be able to be so arrogant, answers a lot of questions I have asked myself

Great, prompt service and decent well priced food. <br/><br/>I had the marrow bone Rump and they managed to get the temperature perfect, a feat not many places can match lately. The meat may have been rested a bit more but overall, a very pleasant experience. We will be back.

I have a severe garlic allergy and when my food came it was covered in garlic. When I approached the manager as I was very ill I was told its my fault and I should have checked. This is after I had told them I am allergic.<br/><br/>The owner dismissed us. Her attitude was beyond disgusting. I was never offered medical attention or apologised to. She walked off while my partner was speaking to her.<br/><br/>I will NEVER go back. <br/><br/>If you want cold food, rude management and new owners and to be treated badly and then to be blamed by the owners and managers for getting severely ill because of their incompetence then go to Steak inn.

BEST STEAKS IN PRETORIA....def the best food and vibe and a nice play area for the kids...great specials during the week...def a must try! Ive had the prawns and the calamati and its just as great...they have huge platters with lots of meat on...very great.

We found this little gem by leaving another restaurant quite disappointed and this definitely made our night. Brilliant steak, good wine, I highly recommend the Vegas Rump.

Nice atmosphere on the boardwalk. Quiet and romantic during off peak periods. Fillet is amazing, but watch out for waiters not getting your order right.

Again, free wifi wins and they make a mean hot chocolate. Sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. If you've got kids you can send them to the jungle gym and spend some QT with yourself or your partner.

I would recommend Steak Inn's breakfasts. It's a Saturday ritual to start the day with the business breakfast along with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. The setting of Steak Inn is great, next to the lake with peace and quiet.

We came to pretoria to visit my grandpa. We decided to use zomato to find a restaurant we do not usually go to. We found steak Inn and decided to eat there. The service was fantastic and the food impeccable, I will definitely come here again

On the weekend, my partner and I went to Steak Inn for a "enjoyable night out", however we were highly disappointed in the service and food we were served. Initially, the atmosphere was pleasant and we were shown into our own booth. We noticed how quiet it was for a Saturday night, but thought nothing of it. However, then when our food arrived we soon realised that it was of an unacceptable standard. If a restaurant claims to specialise in steak, in my opinion, should then indeed specialise in it. Especially when 'awards' are bragged about though out the restaurant. Both our meals were charcoal on the outside and completely raw inside. This is not how a "MEDIUM" steak should be. When the waiter finally came to check on us, I sent my steak back to the kitchen only for it to be returned to the table a few minutes later, without any apology. The manager also was incredibly sarcastic and in our opinion, this is not how customers should be treated. Perhaps this was why the restaurant had so few patrons. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone.

Definitely much better than your average steak house. Service fast and friendly. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. We had starters, mains and dessert. Not something we usually do. Will definitely be back.
