Reasonably priced and decent fast casual seafood place. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was fine. I got food to go. The restaurant seating area seemed quite empty though when I went there around dinner time.

Tomatoe soup is very nice. It is spicy and so little bit hot. Grilled salmon is delicious. Salad with souce should be tasted. Decoration and musics are suitable for fish restaurant. Service was excellent. If you want to eat something other than fast food in Hatfield, you should give a chance ocean basket.

Clean restaurant, friendly staff, lovely relaxed vibe (we were there on a not-very-busy Saturday afternoon). The food was fresh and deliciously prepared and we didn't wait to be served. The restaurant is at the ground floor by a fairly busy street with both indoor and outdoor seating. The manager was very friendly and welcoming even warning us to remove our phones off the table (we were sitting outside).

Stopped by last week Tuesday for their 22nd birthday special. We ordered their fish and chips with a top up of calamari and prawns. It was yummy, filling and didn't fall short of a single thing. The service was great as it always is as this branch, the waiters are very attentive and make you feel at home, management is also very present. The seating is quite nice, it's spacious inside and outside with ample tables.

I guess it's safe to say most of my allowance is spent on Ocean Basket due to my love for their "prawn and mussel" combo and as usual they never disappoint. However they could try to reduce the amount of garlic they put in their sauce.

The waiters at this specific one are as friendly as is expected. <br/><br/>The food was okay. Just as expected. Nothing to write home about. <br/><br/>The ambience allows for casual dining.

Quick and attentive staff, food was hot, and a much better experience than ANY other neighbouring restaurant (I'm talking about you, Mimmos). My advise is to rather sit inside, the bustling street (taxis always hooting, and the occasional beggar) can get quite disconcerting in the afternoon.<br/>Keep up the good work, Ocean Basket! :)

Service is good and the food preparation is great. Only problem is the restaurant is on one of the busiest streets in Hatfield and most of the seating is outside. So if you don't mind the noise and taxi hooting you'll have a good time

We always travel by train from JHB to enjoy the good food and service. Today there were uncontrolled children running allover the restaurant. They played with the Sushi at belt, touched all the containers, removed from belt and then returned. They annoyed customers with the shouting, crying. Observed that the staff have obliged the owners children. Please.wipe the menus<br/> We will return! Thx <br/>

Great ,friendly service made the dinning experience even more pleasant. Our waiter was quite helpful , especially with regards to the availability of certain hot veggies. We even managed to get warm water and some ginger , so make some impromptu ginger tea for my friend who had a cold.

Even though I only ordered a take away meal, I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the service! When phoning in to place my order for pick up, it was answered by a polite gentleman who knew exactly what he was talking about! He said that the order would take 10-15 mins to be ready and true-as-bob I arrive there 10 mins later and my food was freshly out of the kitchen. On arrival I was greeted by the friendliest group of waiters and once reaching the front desk, the manager came to assist and was polite and attentive! The transaction was quick and when I got back to my place to chow down, my taste buds were more than satisfied with my calamari and grilled fish combo! Tasteful and not to mention light on the budget! Only paid R79 for this generous meal. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, will definitely report back for a sit down meal
