One of best seafood restaurants in SA! Drooling over Mussel Prawn Dream 🦐 all time! - my default menu to order whenever I eat in JD! ... Oh la la so yummy! Loving Jalapeno poppers as well.. Spicy 🌶 but you can't stop munching 🤣🤣. Sushi variants also pretty fancy and fresh fresh fresh! 😍 ♥ All food seems so much tempting to try! Keep it up 👍
When I used to live close by, I visited John Dory’s on Jean Avenue very often. I really love their Tuesday half price sushi evenings. The restaurant does become very full on these days, but we used to find a spot at the sushi bar. The service wasn’t bad and the sushi is really top notch.
Other John Dory's I have been to have disappointed me a lot recently but here... good sushi, great service form a Mr Talent, loved the entire experience. Will be making this a regular stop for sushi.
After returning from a very busy holiday, the partner and I decided to give this place a try after a previously terrible experience in its Durban branch and all I can say is wowee. We came for the sushi special and the portions were big, tasty and just what we hoped for in sushi! Rice was well made, not too dry or too wet but a perfect consistency to have the sushi portions melt in your mouth. Our salmon selections were generously topped and the constant taste of fresh and delectable seafood was in each plate. Our waiter was spot on everytime, kept communicating with us on the progress of our sushi. Great service and excellent sushi, I can see this as a start of a beautiful relationship. Thanks John Dorys for a great experience!
Only had a variety of different sushi, that was really good. Had a kit-kat milkshake for dessert and this was so-so tasty and good.
Wine and wine list was impressive for a family restaurant. Overall good ambience and chilled atmosphere - I will visit again.
Food is great and enjoyable but service very slow for a overstaffed lunchtime and few patrons on a Friday afternoon will eat here again as long as you have time
Never had a bad experience at John Dory's Centurion. Service always great, friendly staff and great food! Family friendly and entertainment for the kids 😄
One of the best John Dory's I've been too.
The service is splendid and the food is amazing.
Will definitely be going back there very soon....
5/5 for everything.
The best John Dory's I've been to. The service we received was great, the sushi was tantalizing. We enjoyed every second here. Will be back for more sushi!
Their sushi is always fresh and in my opionion it is the best sushi that I have ever had. They have good service and very polite staff. Their half price sushi specials on wendsday and saturday is definitely worth trying.
We only tried the sushi thus far. But GO EARLY, especially on special night, to keep up with the demand they pre-make some of the sushi, so it is cold. When the sushi is made to order it is however just yummy, fun choices, even if this is part of a chain. Better than some other spots we tried thus far in the area. Worth a try.
Everyone Loves, John Dory’s…
Well, I must say that I was pretty impressed.
Opted for a night of half price sushi and half price wine on a Wednesday at the John Dory’s at Jean Crossing in Centurion. As expected, this was a busy night. So if you don’t like a busy restaurant where you know you will have to wait a while longer for your food, then I suggest you give this one a skip on a Wednesday night. But if you are with friends and there is enough wine, then I believe that I don’t mind waiting for some food.
We had a very good waiter for the evening and was on the ball and knew what he was doing and made sure that we were kept happy the whole night through.
Fresh sushi arrived on the table. Plates and Plates.
My choices:
- Salmon Roses
- Cucumber Rolls
- Salmon Sashimi
- The Bomb
- Prawn Avalanche
And for a ‘dessert’ the ‘Strawberry & Cream Cheese California Roll’
All in all. Great service for us, even if it was a slower evening as they were really busy. The manager was really friendly and came to check up on us a few times during our night. So I am sure to say that I will be heading back to Jean Crossing’s John Dory’s soon for some more sushi.
Ahoy! Did we enjoy flippin good fish and chips. I was really impressed by John Dory's at Jean Crossing. The service was really good, our waiter was friendly and quick with service.
The best part was that we could bring our own wine, I mean, this makes a delicious dinner so affordable. We ordered two hake specials, one with half rice and chips and the other with fresh salad. The fried hake was amazing, so soft, crisp. I loved their garlic mayo salad dressing.
We really enjoyed our meals, thank you.
Needing a weekly sushi fix and no desire to cook dinner we decided to try out the weekly sushi special at John Dory's. While we had to wait a couple of minutes due to the popularity of said sushi special we barely got comfortable on the barstools before a table opened up.
The beer was a little warm and the waiter seemed a bit distracted but the ability to stuff your face with "unlimited" sushi soon destracted us. We had to ask for chopsticks and soy sauce and we didn't get a single serviette the entire night. The sushi was freshly made and delicious but the selection very limited. You can order from the menu but that means a bit of a wait.
While this is hands down one of the best value for money sushi specials around, the service leaves you feeling a bit neglected. (Still beats having to do dishes!)
If you want quick and super friendly service AND good food, this is the place to go! The restaurant is properly lit with a friendly and positive vibe!
Every waiter is proud to work here and serves you with a smile. The waiter, Innocent, filled our evening with laughs!
The sushi is also really good, and some has a light tangy taste to them. The food in general is amazing!
I would return for the great service we received here. It is always nice to feel welcome!
Excellent lunch... the food was very good and the service some of the best I've had in a while. Great play area for the kids as well. Will be back often.
What a pleasure! John Dory's was packed and we had to wait for a table(which we did at the sushi bar) once we had our own table we got amazing service! Probable the best service this year in fact. Every request was fulfilled quickly even though they were so busy.
The sushi tasted great and the rest of the food also tasted good especially for the price. They also have an amazing play area if you have kids and there are seats that look over it so you can watch your kids even though there is a lady on duty.
I highly recommend this joint even though it's a franchise.
