Review Koi Menlyn Maine - Pretoria

Went out with my sister for a catchup session, we had to find our own seats which was disappointing but once we got a waiter to assist us, all was great. The food was amazing and the drinks were everything and more but the duck was a bit dry. It is every sushi and cocktail lover's heaven.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Koi, a popular restaurant in Pretoria, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly seated me at a table with a beautiful view of the restaurant's serene garden. The ambiance at Koi was elegant and sophisticated, with dim lighting and tasteful decor. The seating was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. The menu at Koi offered a wide range of Asian-inspired dishes, from sushi and sashimi to stir-fries and noodle dishes. I decided to start with the miso soup, which was flavorful and comforting. The broth was rich and had just the right amount of saltiness, and the tofu and seaweed added a nice texture to the soup. For my main course, I opted for the crispy duck with plum sauce. The duck was perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin and tender meat. The plum sauce added a sweet and tangy flavor that complemented the richness of the duck. The dish was served with a side of steamed vegetables and jasmine rice, which were cooked to perfection. To end the meal, I couldn't resist trying the green tea ice cream. It was the perfect balance of creamy and refreshing, with a subtle green tea flavor that was not overpowering. It was a delightful way to cleanse the palate after the meal. The service at Koi was exceptional. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing recommendations and ensuring that I had a pleasant dining experience. The food was served promptly and was beautifully presented. Overall, my experience at Koi was outstanding. The combination of delicious food, elegant ambiance, and attentive service made for a memorable dining experience. I would highly recommend Koi to anyone looking for a high-quality Asian dining experience in Pretoria.

Where does one begin? Fantastic food and service in a beautiful setting. I've become a regular for takeout too. And the Cocktails are divine! Attention to detail is spot on superb.

KOI is vibrantly decorated, spacious and has beautiful ambience. The food was amazing, we couldn't get enough of their signature sushi's. The service was however little slow. Our waiter kept forgetting our order, which was a bit of a buzz kill. But the food and ambience compensated for the bad service. Definitely recommend.

Restaurant was beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly but a little bit slow. We ordered all 3 boa buns and then the Korean friend chicken wings and some sushi. The boas were out of this world - the crab one was a little strange as we’d never had crab like that before- but the chicken and beef one are definitely worth going back. The wings and the sushi were nothing to write home about - the sushi rice wasn’t that fresh.

If you looking for a great vibey place to eat and chill, Koi is that place. Amazing Asian flavors that will make you come back for more. Every meal is different and well presented. Clean and beautifully decorated. They have a beautiful setting of comfortable couches, there’s also a bar area with delicious cocktails or mocktails if you prefer. I thoroughly enjoy Koi 👌🏻

I had the salmon bowl and I loved every munch of it🤤❤️ I'd obviously came back here ,I loved the atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating . Suitable for Day to Evening vibe.

Delicious food and great service in a nice Japanese ambiente with love for detail. The baked cheesecake is a must-try, as well as the Spicy Siam mocktail. One point for improvement - the temperature in the restaurant was too cold for my liking. There were heaters - unfortunately, they were placed right next to an open door. Apart from that, great overall experience and would recommend.

Had a sushi craving and asked for recommendations on their sushi selections and boy did the not disappointed, some of the best sushi I’ve ever tasted ( And I’ve had a lot ). Service was great. Beautiful restaurant ideal for date night, hanging with the girls or lunch with the family.

My husband and I returned to KOI last weekend for a special birthday celebration, and wow.. this is exactly what we received. The service was sublime, from the warm and welcome greeting from their manageress, Loveness, to a wonderful evening being served by an excellent waiter by the name of Prince. (Highly recommended) We felt truly taken care of and cared for. The food, was out of this world.. from the dimsum, to the mains, to the cocktails, mocktails, desert and coffees.. literally everything was prepared exquisitely and left our taste buds buzzing for more. The flavour combinations they use within their sauces are sensational! And if you're looking for a short cocktail that will keep you satisfied the entire sitting (no joke) try the Ramu!! A huge thank you to Stuart and the team for giving us a memorable evening, a far better taste of KOI has been left in our mouths and we are looking forward to returning!

Been coming here for many years and always a firm favourite in the Capital City and Menlyn Maine area. Have become quite expensive though.

Great service! Vegan-friendly dishes that tasted AMAZING. Waitor was cooperative and the chef went the extra mile to adhere to my dietary requirements. First time here and would definitely come again. :D (My sister enjoyed her food too)

The best Sushi ever!! Had the prawn siu mai too which was really good.

Classy and high-end. Must have cash to splash, but well worth it. I had glad of Shirah, which was really good. My friends shared a bottle of Rose, which they couldn't get enough of. I don't recall the name though. I chose the duck which was a little disappointing. It was nicely presented and fun to build the little wraps, but it was dry, and tasted like chicken, which should never be the case. The sushi on the other hand, was sublime. A work of art. I have had sushi at plenty of restaurants, but this is without a doubt the best.
