Best ocean basket that I have been to by far. The vibe was great with great ambience and atmosphere. My girlfriend and I loved it and our waiter Philani was brilliant.
Food was superb! Best sushi my wife and I have ever tasted. We will come back again and again and go nowhere else for sushi! Ask for Philani who will serve you with excellence.
Out of all the the ocean baskets I've been to, this one is my favorite. Great customer service, great food.... totally amazing

The ambience was refreshing, friendly waiters , offering good service .. I ordered the platter for one , the portions size are big enough , couldn't even finish it.It was extremely fresh and delicious .

I'm loving the bigger and better branch of Ocean Basket. Food is fresh and I can hardly find any faults. I like the fact that the place is so big. The service is on par as well. I had some sushi which to my delight was well prepared and fresh. The calamari and fish was also done perfectly and fresh. Job well done and prices are very reasonably.
I have been going to Menlyn Ocean Basket for years and I have never had a bad meal there. The food is always fresh and delicious and the portion sizes seem bigger than other OB franchises.
They have a nice kids play area which I really appreciate as it means I can have a good meal while the kids have fun and only come back to the table to grab a bite to eat.
This revamped ocean basket is looking very very trendy. The new menu is indulgent and the staff here are very friendly and knowledgable.
I just did not enjoy the prawns we were served- they were rather small and looked unappetising.
Took a trip to Menlyn Mall last night to show my parents around the upgraded Menlyn Mall. We decided to eat at Ocean Basket. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. This OB is one of the biggest if not the biggest OB's I've ever been to. Decorated beautifully and the tables are spaced out. Before we finished eating our bread our platter for two arrived with our village salad. It's seems the kitchen is prepared for the Friday night supper, with super efficient service and tasty food. Awesome service and a great venue. This is definitely my favourite OB.
Upon arrival at this new Ocean Basked I was so impressed. They’ve set the benchmark high of the new look and feel.
We were welcomed and seated. Our waitress was friendly and very quick. Being a few people on the table we liked that about her. After drinks were served we ordered their Fish and Calamari Combo served half rice half Chips with a Greek salad on the side.
Other that they are very unique and impressive with the new looks; they aren’t very stingy on the portion sizes. They even spoiled us with their secret lemon butter sauce, free of charge.
This is by far the best Ocean Basket I’ve ever been to. Loved the fact that they have fresh herbs and Fruit trees in their garden outside. Can’t wait to return for another meal.Ocean Basket Shaun Swanepoel
The revamped restaurant is great. Is has nothing of the old Ocean basket feel at all. Nice open setup with great vibe. Waiters are friendly. Food was excellent. Definitely a step up and in the right direction from Ocean basket. For this who haven't been to OB in a while, definitely worth a revisit.
I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was at this OB. The new fresh concept of the store is great and the sushi is REALLY good! We also ordered a platter for one and every item was perfectly cooked. Service needs some attention though - our order was taken incorrectly and our waiter's general attitude was a little wanting.
After revamping, this OB looks so nice.
I don't wanna lie, they exceeded my expectations.
Nice spot at the new Menlyn, they have a kiddies area. I'm not a fan of sea food but small things like beauty or just where a restaurant is situated makes me wanna seat. Keep it up with your good service!!!

The new OB venue is a huge improvement 😄. We like the idea that it is spacious, open and very neat.
The service was really friendly and helpful.
Grilled veg and haloumi starter was very different and very tasty. Portion size is good.
The Mediterranean sushi was the most colorful sushi we've seen in a long time. Feta and olive sushi was really surprising 😝😝.
The wine list is still very good value for money as well.

I always enjoy my experience at this Ocean Basket. The staff are very friendly and their cocktails are great. I usually eat the calamari starter and sushi, because I love both and can't decide!
We had a lovely time, the sushi was delicious and the waiter we had was so friendly and super helpful. No doubt they will see us again. Earlier that evening we were seated at Cape Town Fish Market and to say I was upset is an understatement. So to have that great of a meal and service is a breath of fresh air.

All you can eat sushi special? Yes please! It can get very busy but it's worth it. Good vibe. The service is ok. A fun stop for a large crowd. Make sure to book a table though.
Very impressed with the amount of time it took for our orders to be done, considering it was almost filled to capacity. Food is always amazing. The hake kind of tastes more like chicken than fish. I'm still not sure if thats a good thing or not... Great branch of OB
Ocean Basket is a tried and trusted brand. Menlyn branch is perfect for healthy mid or after shopping sustenance. As it was relocated to a new part of Menlyn Shopping centre opposite Pick-n-Pay, they have no liquor license at the moment.
I had the Fried Hake and Calamari Combo with potato chips. It arrived sizzling on the plate. The star of the plate was the hake - fresh, flaky and perfectly cooked. The calamari and chips were good too. The manager, Jeff and waiter, Pumbo were friendly and considerate.
Ocean Basket Menlyn located again to new part of Menlyn. A large, partly open space near the Atterbury entrance. Modern, spacious and light. Excellent play area for the little ones with even a small green lawn to run around in safety. Service friendly and food the same tasty fare one expects from OB
As good as any other ocean basket it keeps true the brand name, our orders took a sufficient amount of time considering how busy it was and the wait staff is lovely
This Ocean Basket is one of the best. Was a freak storm whilst I was there and they really quickly and professionally moved all their customers inside. Great is also that you get a Cappuchino free if you have a main meal :)
Loved it. Loved the setting, Loved the atmosphere, the clean toilets and surroundings. Kids can play there. Nice outside place with shade from the trees for the hot sunny days. Food was well prepared and fresh. Waiter was friendly and had good service!!!
This is a top class restaurant with great food and a beautiful setting. Unfortunately the service was really slow and we where not attended to well. It was not even a busy time during our visit.
There is a lovely children's play area outside, but it is unfortunately only halfway fenced and some half open shrubs seperates the rest of the childrens play area from a very busy drop off zone in front of the mall - not a safe space for kids to play without us having to have hawk eyes on them! It would be great if the entire area is fenced off.

I was here for lunch. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was just alright. The waiter assigned to my table was handling multiple tables at once and did not give much attention to my table.
We ordered the solemate platter, which includes 18 prince prawns, calamari, calamari steak strips, mussels, rice, and chips. The only thing I did not enjoy was the calamari steak strips, they were blunt and lacked flavour.

Great food and great service at this Ocean Basket branch. The restaurant is huge and has plenty of seating inside and out. The food came quickly and was freshly prepared. Our waiter was helpful and friendly too. A perfect execution of a sea food dining experience. Thanks OB!
The food was do delicious and really affordable. Service was also excellent and fast. I loved the ambience of the place, modern deco and view of the street. A good place to have an intimate dinner or share a table with friends. Good selection of food and drinks as well. Only thing missing for me was a bowl if hot sauce.
You can't go wrong with OB Menlyn. Lovely staff, great sushi. Also a cute jungle gym outside for the kiddies to play around in.

Nice restaurant, the food is delicious and hearty. The service is very fast and relevant. The atmosphere is spacious and wide compared to a shopping mall. I recommend the house wine as a drink, it is light and delicious. Enjoy your meal.

This is the best Ocean Basket in pretoria, me and my mom came to visit all the way from the freestate. And it's the only place she eats and enjoys. Excellent job guys keep it up
One of the best Ocean Basket branches I've ever visited. Restaurant has an airy vibe and seating is well spaced out. Even when the place is busy on weekends, it does not feel over crowded, like most other branches that cram as many tables as they can in the restaurant.
Service is very good, food is prepared properly and portions are decent. Overall a well run restaurant, that sets a good example for other branches to follow.
What a great Ocean Basket franchise! The service was great, I was attended to with a smile and efficiency. It's very spacious and well decorated to really accentuate the ocean theme. The outside area is also vast and relaxing with an area for children to play as well as a smoking area for adults far enough from the tables. The food was delicious with the fish and prawns tasting fresh! I would definitely recommend it for couples, families and single people alike.
Lovely place to be. Friendly service when they know you. My aunt almost died of allergic reaction to seafood which she didn't know she had. Ocean basket people knew about it but it wasn't an emergency for them, I had to get her sorted. All in all it's a beautiful place & always enjoy myself whenever I visit.
