Review Tribeca Standard - Pretoria

Dean de Klerk
Had a wonderful time at Tribeca. They have the best standards when it comes to the food and drinks they sell. Also had the friendliest waitress Teresa, who was extremely courteous and helped with every question I had about the food. Will definitely be going back here the first chance I have.

I am so in love with this place The food is amazing, the service wonderful and friendly (Thanks Annie) I 100% recommend this place

Went to this restaurant on a Sunday. It was super peaceful, loved the service. Their Long Island portion!!💀 food was great, overall satisfactory experience
Klasie Venter
Excellent restaurant. Food was great. Service excellent.

I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea, and I received a beer-mug-size glass. We enjoyed the pizza, and our waiter was quick and helpful. To find a good place to sit, arrive early or make a reservation with specific needs about where you want to sit. Some tables are so close together, that the people next to you would have to whisper so that you can't hear their conversation. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful, fun restaurant for a debrief session with the girls or a date night with bae.

Good food and nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff.

Had a Sunday lunch @ Tribeca standard before we went to the Atterbury theater. Food was deleech. Had a garlic flatbread with extra Moz cheese. Comes with chimichurri, basil pesto and harissa (R78) and a little porchetta (deboned pork belly) (R105) my friend had oriental calamari and halloumi and veggies. Great food and vibe and service

Great food, excellent service and quick turnaround. Good place for a business meeting or short catch up with a loved one

Enjoyed the Ribeye...perfectly cooked...and great atmosphere

I will be honest, good coffee and cheese cake really had a good texture with great lemon taste. I found the inside warm and pleasant but extremely noisey, swamps the ears & mind, must revisit the aucoustic values/design of the interior. Staff also need to be more attentive, waited to get their attention to pay the bill, also didn't enquire if I was satisfied.

A beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. Friendly and helpful service. Food was delicious and fresh. We ordered burgers. Had a lovely side salad to a big burger. Excellent TriBeCa coffee ☕

My happy place! Everything at TriBeca is to the customer's satisfaction. Amazing coffee in all sizes, flavours and specialities. Your Latte variety is my favorite. The food is delicious, a feast for the eye. The service is friendly, fast and efficient. I guess once you call a restaurant "home", this is where you will return to time and again! Well done to management and staff!

Sorry, maybe it was just my luck. Everyone in our group received their food, and I had to wait for mine. I ordered a baby chicken and received a flatty!

The waitress could not be bothered to be neat or in any hurry, the drinks order took 20 minutes and arrived wrong, the food was dry and bland and then they still had the cheek to include a 10% service charge on the bill. I believe you should work for your tip, they couldn't be bothered, wasted experience, won't make that mistake again

Great experience and nice food.
From starter, main dish and dessert. Let me not forget about the great service from the staff.

Second time, standard of service pathetic. They do not know how to make a moscow mule, I then ordered Five Roses tea - they brought cheap and favourless tea wirhout milk.

Mické Van Heerden
Love the food and interesting menu. Unfortunately the waiters let them down! Barely come to your table and sound confused when ordering, as if they’ve never heard of the menu. Was here twice today - first time we waited 30 mins for our bill. Second time it just never came. Note that it was not busy at all both times.
Won’t be returning - can’t handle bad service delivery. Such a sorry :(

The food here is not worth the price you pay, particularly because it is surrounded by so many better restaurants. Nevertheless, their milkshakes are really tasty and they do stay open quite late on a Sunday night, if you are looking for a last minute weekend stop.
Adele Du Toit
Interesting menu, great coffee and location. Outside seating is ample and food and drinks are presented well. Always have good and friendly service. Enjoy the buzz

First visit to Tribeca Standard. I have been to the Tribeca at Mall of Africa which was good. Tribeca standard had a better vibe and the pizza was good! Overall would come back despite the overpriced drinks.

On 7 December 2018 myself and my wife had a late lunch at Tribeca Lynnwood Bridge. This was our second visit following our first a couple of years back. I must admit our first visit was not memorable either. The problem is the food. My wife ordered a mussel starter which came with rock hard stale toasted ciabatta bread. The four lousy mussels were so small finding them in the broth was a challenge.

My grilled chicken to say the least; was disgusting. The chicken was parboiled and grilled on the gas griller which coated the chicken with black soot stains. The taste was terrible. The skin was inedible.

No manager in sight to complain too. We left unhappy and will never return.

In conclusion: Tribeca display an inviting and pleasant atmosphere due to the conspicuous location and many unsuspecting patronage will fall in their trap. Be warned what glitters in not necessarily gold.

One of my favorite places to chill at in Pretoria. I really love the atmosphere. You can opt to sit inside or outside, both great. Night times are the best, the place just comes alive.
I really enjoy the food each time I come here

great service, great vibe. Best Strawberry milkshake In Pretoria

Wayne Strydom
I enjoyed the chicken livers. Pork belly and chicken sandwich was a let down. The pork belly fat was soft and not fully cooked and the chicken was bland.

I feel charging R58 for a glass of house red is a bit steep. Sorry guys but you won’t see me anytime soon.
Dirk
I do like Tribeca!! I am a bigger fan of the one in Brooklyn but the food and service at Standard is also great. I've been here a couple of times now and tried a few different things. Initially we had pizza and was a bit underwhelmed but since then I've had the Tribeca T-Bone and also the Apple smoked ribs. SØØØ GÕÕD! Come to think of it...I'll be back there soon.

After an award winning show at Atterbury Theater, we all decided to have something quick to eat. It was quite busy for a Sunday evening, but we found a table for the four of us.
Nice strong espressos and cuppacinos followed by good food (southern fried chicken burger, chicken livers, pizza). The size of the chicken burger đŸ˜Č (check the picture). All and all good experience.
Moir Les
they made an effort with both the menu and catering for a variety of dietary requirements. The food was made on order and fresh and it tasted fantastic. Ambiance was great.
Ellie
They have an amazing cheeseboard for R105 that’s not on the menu - perfect for a pre-theatre snack. Lovely for people watching & lazy afternoons.
Patrick
After rating Tribeca Original Brooklyn 5 stars, I will have to give this one a 4. The food is great, the shop looks amazing and the menu is great. Every meal I have had their has been nothing less than awesome. My only issue is that the service is a tad slow and one sometimes wait long for your order to arrive. Other than that, I still love this place!!!
Anél Fourie
Visited this old favourite again and remembered why we loved it so much! The ambience immediatly sets the mood for a great evening out with friends. We opted for a variety of mains, I had the Salmon Caponato which was excellent and not too heavy at all! The Moules Frites was lovely as well, rich and creamy, perfect for a rainy night. The pizzas are great value for money, thE Cali Beach and Pig amongst our Fav's. We took our own wine from across the passage (The Good Oaks wine shop - must visit!) at R60 corkage. Dessert was the only let down. The pecan nut pie was a tad dry and my chocolate pot was a bit much with no relief for a lot of creamy rich ganache. Wish they would bring the PB&J back!
Carice De Jager
The menu has a large variety and I love their hot drinks and cakes. Their breakfast however is of poor standard and the service here is always a bit slow. My biggest problem is the value for money, R50 for a side order of mushrooms for breakfast? Absolute rip off.
Nicole Keeling
A very average menu with food that wasn't cooked properly. However the coffee is great and I would recommend going if one is only in the mood for coffee and not eating a meal.
Cayla Riley
I went here for dinner , I really enjoyed the milkshake I had and the food was generous and very tasty. I like the old school vibe inside. Always a pleasure.
Tomasovicova.monika
Service and environment is nice, but food is average, maybe even worse. Pork belly loaded in fat, with not tasty sweet apple sause, most of the food deep fried, although it does not say so on the menu, pulled beef sandvich dry, without taste and fantasy. Fries made of frozen staff. Will not visit again.
Rhoneth
I had the duck confit served with potato dauphinoise which was delicious. I enjoyed the food which was served nice and hot. The only thing I'd fault the food on is the brown sauce they put on the duck, I didn't enjoy that... But maybe others will like it. For dessert I tried one of their cakes, which was also good. I have been to better dinner spots (in terms of atmosphere), but this place is also nice. I will definetly go there again one day.

Our first time at Tribeca. Very nice food (we both enjoyed a salad, salmon trout and duck), nice craft beers, a nice atmosphere sitting outside near the fountains and last but not least the service was great!
Renske Bouwer
I have visited Tribeca Standard many times and I have only once been a little disappointed, but for the other 95% of my visits I give the restaurant a huge thumbs up! I am a big fan!I love the feel of this place - modern & chic. On my last visit to Tribeca I was pleasantly surprised to see Belgian waffles on their breakfast menu. Who doesn't want a waffle for breakfast? I chose salted caramel as my topping. It was so, so, so yummy. The texture of the waffle was exactly how I amigined it to be. It lived up to my high waffle standards.
The waitress was friendly and the service was great! Our orders arrived super quick! The coffee is super, as always. I have had the red velvet cheesecake - always a winner! Can highly recommend this. I have also had the chicken and duck livers starter, as well as the escargot les Champignon - Both are now my go-to dinner options. Packed with flavour, without compromising the tenderness. The only my husband and I were disappointed was when we ordered the roasted beetroot flatbread. The beetroot was so obviously not roasted, but rather store-bought pickled beetroot.

I can really recommend visiting Tribeca for superb food and vibey atmosphere.

Had a quick lunch date at Tribeca and it had its highs and lows.
Firstly I appreciate the minimal menu. Too much detail complicates things. Less is more.
Our waiter was extremely slow and not attentive to us. I watched other waiters and they were constantly checking up on their customers 🙂
The atmosphere was relaxed and my sister enjoyed the music. Having to shift for waiters to get around was uncomfortable, the table setting was too close for comfort.
We shared a vegetarian pizza which was really good. Enjoyed it plenty and it had the right amount of seasoning, enough fillings and cheese. I ordered hot chocolat but unfortunately the mug was dirty and it wasn't hot but warm 😓
My sister ordered a refreshing lemon juice and it was fresh and delicious.
We ordered a red velvet cake to go and ate it later. It wasn't the best cake, wouldn't recommend that again.
Minus our not to par waiter and my dirty mug and warm hot chocolat Tribeca is an ok place to grab a quick lunch break. The chilled vibe and good food is something to enjoy.
Jess
What a lovely place for a quick lunch! Their PIG pizza is absolutely delicious, and even has crackling on top! Nougat milkshake is SO yummy! And it even had a piece of nougat inside. The amount of milkshake was enough to fill the milkshake glass twice! Definitely going back soon
Shane
Coffee at TriBeCa is only defiantly one of the best coffees around in Pretoria. The food is above average and is always fresh and tasty. Had the marrow bones starter again as I thoroughly enjoy these however this time it seemed to have less marrow in the bones. Might have been over roasted. Apparently all the tiny forks have been stolen so it's rather difficult to remove the marrow. The salad was delicious and the pickled cucumber in the salad is amazing. Unfortunately the chocolate cake had a bit of an aftertaste. Wasn't worth the cheat. All in all a good experience. My rating is based on a number of visits and not this one in particular Tribeca
Esrida Brits
Had a quick lunch on Sat. Although they were not very busy, service was slow (as it is usually, have never been and had good service). Coffee was good, luckily that is usually. The food - we had sandwiches. Firstly too big to eat without a knife and fork, the toppings not placed with care. My pork belly was cut so big I had to take it off, cut smaller and then put back. The sandwich was uninteresting with mushy coleslaw, cucumber, and carrots all mixed in the same mustardy-sauce. Hubby had the Philly steak sandwich - tasted like nothing, except the dip which tasted like sweet chilli sauce mixed with stock. Really disappointed. We left feeling not-hungry, instead of feeling satisfied.

We went to Tribeca before going for a show at Atterbury theatre and I can really recommend doing the same.
Had the pork belly with pecan nut salad and it was excellent.
Good service, good food.
Enough said
Nadia Joubert
Love the atmosphere and decor of this Tribeca. The food is good and the coffees delicious. Perfect for any meal of the day but the most cosy and vibey at night. Pop in here before or after watching a show at the Atterbury Theater.
Michelle Stoltz
Wow....this is the nicest breakfast. Substantial especially for men. Coffees to "die for" specially a nice tummy warmer with Amarula. Eggs benedict perfect medium. Perfect english muffin and hollandaisse.
Justin our waiter was superb. Truly great expreience. Ask for Justin at night as he generally work night shifts.
Chelsea Klokow
Good food, good atmosphere and good service. They have quite a variety of food. Friends had a pizza and I had a flatbread - all great.
All round a lovely restaurant.

Finally got to try out Tribeca Standard and enjoy some of their famous coffee and food. Their coffee is hands down one of the best 'brands' and their food is divine. We'll be back soon!
Devin Sage
I'm so sad to say but what a disappointing meal.
The atmosphere was great, really relaxed. The setting is great too, its airy and spacious accompanied by good service, a bit slow at times but at least friendly.
Unfortunately the friendly service didn't make up for the totally bland food.
When reading the menu, it all sounds so good but when I took my first bite no flavour came through.
The pulled beef sandwich was a particular low, it tasted boiled and had a cheap gravy kind of taste and was absent of any salt whatsoever. It was chewy as well. My friend ordered an open sandwich with pork and cracking, the crackling had absolutely no crunch, it more chewy then anything.
I had a virgin Strawberry Daquiri and it couldn't have been further from what the name suggests. What I ended up getting was more of a yoghurt Strawberry smoothie.
Overall a very underwhelming experience and won't be going back for a while. The one in Brooklyn is far better.

Haven't been here in ages, but what a great return. Waiter was excellent and food great. Duck was crisp and potatoes excellent. My partner liked her fillet. Thanks TriBeCa. Duck

Stopped by for a quick coffee with a few friends after an early morning mission .
The decor inside is quite intriguing and the layout is really great.
Great , friendly service. Despite the fact that the waiter forgot my drink . He was quite apologetic which made up for it.

Nestled in the Lynnwood Bridge centre off the N1 highway this spot is always buzzing with patrons, we were fortunate to go on a rather 'quiet' evening before payday.

It is decorated beautifully and the centre of attention for all foot traffic visiting the Lynnwood Bridge mall so you cannot miss it.
They offer copious portions which makes their pricing fantastic because salmon of that size (pictured) is not in my experience, for sale at R172.00 and there are swift waiters and waitresses as you enter the door.

Critique:
House red wine was served warm which was rather disappointing but nothing an ice block could not solve.
A curse to their quick service, the waiters tend to push their way through the tables so one must ensure you block their route.
When I think of TriBeCa I always think of it as a breakfast restaurant, but it has so much to offer. The menu seems limited but there are a variety of meals on offer. They even have a built in pizza oven. I ordered the pork belly and my boyfriend had the salmon, the crackling tasted burnt and the salmon needed seasoning. The portions are big and worth the price in my opinion. Only critique is that our wine was really hot and the restaurant is some what noisy, I wouldn't recommend for a date night. Service was good and non intrusive.
Natasha Parry
Tribeca is a firm favorite but we were reminded why we enjoy going... we ordered the Spicy Bean Salad and the Brisket burger. The salad was the best version of a bean salad I've ever had and the burger was amazing. Service was great as well and its not hard to understand why Tribeca was the busiest restaurant at Lynnwood Bridge yesterday. Consistency is the key!
Marietjie Meyer
Excellent service. Good food. Will definitely go back to try the starters and main courses. Have to go back for the ribs (not available yesterday) as this was highly recommended!
Pukebox TheVile
Very poor service. Food was horrible. Manager nowhere to be found. Staff very noisy. When manager eventually came offered us a free coffee but we never received it. Avoid!!
Monica Maree
Not my favourite dining experience I have to say. The cocktails were rather odd and the service was acceptable but doesn't warrant a 2nd visit
Oom Wag 'n Biedtjie
Service depends on when you are there. Straight forward normal franchise quality and service. A no think obtion. Nothing special nothing bad. Worth a try.
Nico Gray
In my opinion Tribeca is one of a small handful of places that makes excellent coffee. I have been there more times than I can count and have never been disappointed with their coffees, pizzas or desserts. I have had lots of their light meals as well and they are always on top with their quality and presentation.
Victoria Van Der Schyff
Tribeca has become my local watering hole. The coffee is above average and the food never disappoints.

You can never go wrong if you're looking for a place for a coffee, a meal, a drink or a date.
Nadja Louw
I enjoy the atmosphere and layout of the restaurant as well as the wide variety of food and drinks on offer. The food has never really disappointed although the service has been slow at times. This is a great place for a coffee with a friend or a relaxed breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Joan
I love Tribeca coffee. Last night we went there for dinner. My friend had the roast pork belly with cauliflower and she said it was amazing. I had the melanzane pizza with extra peperroni and it was delicious. I will definitely be back for more pizza
Ria Fraser @CityFlavours
The atmosphere at this restaurant is fantastic, and when you sit outside you have a lovely view of sculptures and fountains. The wine list was farely limited but we had a great drinking wine so really can't complain there. Service was friendly but very slow. Ordered the pork belly starter, it was a descent portion served with crispy crackling
Temcki_tinx
Lovely place to get some deliciously strong coffee. I love their wooden interior and almost industrial look with low hanging lights. It creates a nice atmosphere. I have heard great things about this place especially great things about their coffee.

They are quite a popular shop and therefore they can be busy. This may cause slower service which was the case when my friend and I visited this place.

The waiter came to us once, taking our order and from there on I had to signal the waiter quite a few times in the hope of some service. Our table was of balance and every time we moved the table will rock a few times almost causing our coffees to spill over. As this became irritating, I tried signalling anyone to come and assist us. After a while, someone finally saw us and came over. I explained the situation and the lady said we will assist you now... we waited about 20 minutes and no one came. Again I spent a few minutes trying to signal anyone. Finally a young gentleman came over and he assisted us. We could finally drink our coffee without the table rocking.

Apart from the really slow service I agree that they do have great coffee and their food is also nice. If you dont mind waiting, by all means try them out.
Cristina Melosi Scola
I loved the look and feel of this restaurant. We had the flatbreads with the chicken and avo topping. I felt that it was more like a pizza without the cheese and tomato. Staff was helpful and service was quick. The bursgers looked amazing.
Gundo Legal Advisory Services
I can recommend Tribeca anyday. I love their duck, Salmon and their nut latte is divine...worth every penny paid!
The location of the restaurant is also very convenient with parking galore.
Lizanne
One can always count on Tribeca to deliver.
Lunchtime is always packed but the service was quick and attentive.

I had the chicken salad. Very tasty. The portion size is adequate and they aren't shy with the avo. Which is great. The chicken could have received more attention but nonetheless a very satisfying meal.

My mother had the beef salad. The beef was cooked well and the salad was packed with lots of yummy nuts.

James Marsh
Tribeca is always a winner for a hearty breakfast. I had a flat white, which was very pleasant, then I ordered an omelet with bacon, caramelized onions, white cheddar and a pork sausage. I also asked for rye toast. The omelet was light fluffy and well seasoned. Service was fast and efficient and the restaurant has a great vibe. Will definitely be returning. One of the better Tribecas in Pretoria
Larisa Louw
I would like to commend your waitress, Nicky N. Great customer service, focused on our needs, regular eye contact to check we were all right and such a generous, warm spirit! Food was good: chicken salad has way too much lettuce though and the Red Velvet cake was stodgy and tasteless. Pork belly as always divine, but the prices are really very high when compared to portion sizes and taste.
Raoul
Wanted to try something alternative as my usual breakfast meeting place is one door away. The service was a little bit below average. Good did not take long to be served. Had the bacon omelette. Was very salty and oily. Overall an average experience as wimpy would have been a better option
Port A Cool SA
What a shocker, had a breakfast that was cold the first time and now arrived there after booking for mothersday they changed their policy and made it first come first serve. You lost a customer for life.
Penny Ludwig
TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE. . After a show, we waited an hour for for our order of 3 pizza's and a pot of mussels. The pizza we wanted wasn't available, the further delay was supposed to be because the dough had gone sour; the pizza we finally got was tasteless and when we asked for chillies or parmesan for flavour they didn't have. We weren't even asked if we wanted more than our first drink - so sat for an hour without a refill. No apology and no offer of even a complimentary coffee. Complaints to management were fruitless. We won't ever be back
Michelle
Perfect place for a date night , the place is always buzzing !! They have a great amount of food to choose from ! The only let down is the options on dessert ? The drinks are impressive and they have a big selection on whiskey , bigger than most restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place . Service is fast and friendly . The atmosphere is perfect and alive.
Jaco
Lunch at Tribeca Standard. So; I like this place. Quality food and service... We had an exceptional waittress ( ask for her by name: Nikke (she is French, so this is as close as I can get with the spelling)). She is friendly, bubbly and will make a difference to your dining experience. We had the T-bone (good, but definitely not worth the price) and the Lamb Chump Chomp (expensive, but worth every penny). I liked the pricing of the wine and the overall experince. My verdict: definitely worth a visit.
Jamie John Bezuidenhout
To sum the restaurant up in one word: meh. Really nothing to write home about, except for the fact that the menu is overpriced. Had visited the same restaurant once before last year and vowed never to return due to shocking service. Thought I'd give the place a shot at redemption but the experience was underwhelming. Ordered the Monte Christo which was OK; the Parmesan saved the dish from being completely bland. Didn't really understand how pouched eggs on French Toast would work and, it didn't. The bacon was lacking and the French toast itself was flavorless and lacked texture. Disappointing as the restaurant has potential and is close to where I live so would be ideal to meet friends at but sadly will have to travel elsewhere...
Wikus Lubbe
Overall a good experience. I ordered an omelet with the mushrooms and cheese. The basil pesto was just a bid over powering. Nothing stood out for me, no WOW factor. Is a really nice spot for a Saturday brunch.
Waseem Imam Saheb
There isnt much to offer if bacon and pig meat in general isnt your thing.. Even the selection of vegetarian choices are lame ... Not my first choice to eat but once upon a time it was
Martie Vosloo
Perfect place for a date night, or rather a dessert date. We had cappuccinos with the best peacun nut tart and most delicious lemon cheesecake at Tribeca.
Ka Wing 88
Tribeca coffee is such a treat when I'm in Pretoria! If anything, just head over for the coffee. And they come in "proper" sizes! From normal cappuccino size, to pretty decent to the mukhulu barrel of coffee! Food here is just ok... I've eaten here a number of times and it is good enough, but not wow. But it is always an enjoyable visit. The setting is outdoorsy and breezy and the service is prompt.
Peter Van Der Merwe
Great quick lunch just before a movie. food came out really fast and had a friendly waiter. Had an amazing hot dog. Great flavours. Will definitely be returning to try something new.
Charmaine Ehlers
My Fiancé and I tried to have breakfast here in the holidays, service was so slow. Waited 45 min for a milkshake. Really? And then the prices aren't the same on the bill as it says on the menu. Ended up not having breakfast and leaving. Will not be going back.
Riani Deacon
Very delicious food and drinks with a nice atmosphere It's just sad that the staff is not fast with orders Saw my tea standing ready to serve for 15 min before it got to me. But the honey and nut latte wil bring me back time after time!

Late last year I had a very bad experience at Tribeca Standard and the manager begged me to come back, when complained. So today was the day to meet a business associate for a salad and a glass of wine after the lunch time rush. We both opted for the roasted beetroot salad. It was terrible. The salad was drenched in vinegar because they used preserved beetroot from a jar. Trust me I roast beetroot and this was boiled and soaked in vinegar. There werr pips in the oranges, very rough and untidy greens slapped over the beetroot to hide the fact that it was not roasted. Four dismal slivers of goat's cheese and a dusting of cashews. We had to ask for menus from a very reluctant hostess and service was lacklustre, coupled with warm rosé that tasted like poison as a result of all the vinegar in the salad. At no point did the waiter asked if we are satisfied with the meal. The resyaurant was not eben half full. So this is the end of the road for me and Tribeca. Pity because I have to entertain often in the area and frequent the Aytetbury Theatre.
Helenus
Nice setting, nice decor, love the small but interesting wine list. But no use you have some great wines and don't know how to serve them. Our red wine arrived warm, well above serving temperature. Called the manager, complimenting him on a the nice wine selection and then told him our problem. He was a bit patronizing; saying wine should be served room temperature, suggesting we add ice, says he'll make a note (about my complaint) and left with 'I can see you are a wine connoisseur'. Having guests with me I didn't want to make a scene so I left it at that.
Sharon Mj Manyike
Had steak and veggies. You can never go wrong with steak. Kept it safe. They have amazing cocktails. I also like to go to tribecca for their burgers during lunch.
Gert Visser
Great food - mostly. Best oysters in town. Great selection of burgers and lighter meals. Duck and pork belly are winners for mains (pork is huge). Terribly slow service though!
René Bennett
We went to dinner to celebrate the start of the holidays. I went for the duck (which was brilliant the last time we were there) but they did not have it. My husband had the pork belly which was very okay - the crackling looked good but did not live up to expectations. I had the slow cooked lamb (instead of my duck) which was also very okay. Unfortunately the food was not up to standard - especially considering that the average price for a plate of food tonight was R 180.
Stacey Faber
TriBeCa never ceases to amaze! Love this joint!! Great coffee even better red velvet cheesecake 😁 try the pizzas too! Awesome wood fire oven pizza with delectable toppings! Winner winner ⭐
Frans Pretorius
Another Tribeca favourite. Perfect lunch (an amazing pizza) with a glass of wine and something to read. I could sit here for hours and just enjoy the vibe. Lekker Pretoria.
Palesa Mogale
Oh gosh it's our favourite place ...man and myself discovered it late 2013 and we've been dining there ever since. We love the duck and half chicken but last night decided to have pork belly oh my we had so much fun and the food is forever delicious
Mariska Meyer
A reliable place to get an excellent cup of coffee.
The menu is different with some interesting flavours for the pizzas and sandwiches. A reliable place to have a good breakfast
Sebastian Ammon
A beautifully designed restaurant situated at Lynwood Bridge.
The food is of great quality and great presentation.
If you are looking for a restaurant with classy service and great ambiance, Tribeca Standard is the place to be.
Carmen Janse Van Rensburg
What can I say...my first duck experience! Tried duck for the first time here and was so utterly impressed that now I compare it to every meal I eat! Tribeca certainly never disappoints!
Moshibudi Mphahlele
Oh my word! The foooooood, I had to go twice this week. The other day I had a pizza, the California with bacon and two cheeses. Yum! This time I tried two starters (tempura prawn and flatbread). Prawns were delicious the flatbread quite a generous serving for a starter couldn't get through it. Lovely service, the waiters are very friendly.
Susan Schoeman
TriBeCa is my go to for good food when I don't know what I want! I've tried most things on their menu, averaging at least two visits per week and I have never been disappointed! Prices are a little high but rest assured the atmosphere and great service makes those numbers a little more insignificant!
I Love Pretoria
Had the Duck salad as a light lunch. Service always takes a while and prices are a bit over the top, but nevertheless, food (and coffee) is amazing.
Talita Jacobs
Tribeca is one of those places that just never disappoints, I love everything about this restaurant the service the food and the atmosphere. If you've never been give it a try!!
MissBeaz
What a fantastic spot ! A friend and I visited TriBeCa on Thursday night for a last minute get together. We were seated outside on account of the fantastic warm weather but I would imagine this restaurant to be very snug in winter as well! The vibe of the restaurant is a relaxed yet exciting one with a mixed crowd of yuppies , hipsters and families (not many children ) . The menu is constructed very well , with a variety burgers, pizzas and hearty mains ! I often say that if you cannot decide on a meal because there are multiple things that I would like to eat then a menu has achieved its goal ! There is a fantastic selection of cocktails as well ! I settled on the pork belly with a side of coleslaw and my friend had the vegetarian pizza. Both were delicious but I must admit I was quite envious of the pizza! It was delicious! The pork belly although perfectly tender could do with more cooking to render the fat down a bit further and way more seasoning but again , was still very enjoyable. Although I did not have a dessert , I will be back to try their cherry pie !

The only draw back for me was the service. Although there were what seemed like 2 of the 4 managers / hostesses standing right next to us , we had to fight for someone attention when we either wanted to order or get the check. They seemed more interested in chatting to one another than attending to the needs of their patrons whilst their waiters seemed to be very busy ! Although it is not technically their job to serve our table , it is their responsibility to coordinate everything. If your waiters are busy , jump in and help ! I must however, commend our waiter. His knowledge of the menu was excellent and his manner was friendly but still very professional.

TriBeCa has now become my new quick pick favorite in Pretoria and I look forward to returning with a bunch of friends for a lovely evening of great food and yummy cocktails!

What a great experience. The staff is top notch. The pork belly is the best you will ever have and the Italian burger is a must! A great Sunday lunch it has been.

Tribeca has a nice urban feel and is great for some good coffee with a variety of pastries to go along with the java. The outside area is a must in summer. They also have wood fire pizza that makes for a perfect late lunch

Great place and staff. After reading another review I was hesitant to order the pork belly which caught my eye, however, I still went ahead and ordered it. I did enjoy it although the original review was correct in that it was quite fatty in places. I would go again but maybe choose something else.

I love this TriBeCa! I have to give it props. Their cocktails, burgers, main meat meals AND their desserts are ON POINT. I could go on and on but suffice it to say that they are definitely worth a try. You won't regret spending your money here. Overall great and wide menu and each dish always excellently executed!

This branch is currently my favourite one especially pertaining to service. I've frequently popped in here for a drink or a quick meal and like all the other branches the interior and attention to detail is on point.

I can recommend their chocolate Martini and they serve great burgers.

The carrot cake was also divine on my last visit.
Miss Zomato
A convenient location for when you want to grab a coffee or a quick lunch. The service is a little bit slow and I waited about 10min for my cappuccino. The food is very good, but need to work on the service delivery.

Not that impressed. I love the atmosphere, the decor, and they have great coffee, but our food ranged from average to below. Their food isn't cheap, so we were really disappointed with the steak and both our sandwiches at that price. I enjoy going to Tribeca for some coffee, but I won't be too keen again on going there to eat.

This is one of my all time favourite restaurants, I've never had anything off the menu that I didn't love. The Peanut Butter Choc Brittle milkshake is a must try!
Natalie De Canha
what an awesome vibe!
The staff was incredibly friendly, and the flourless chocolate cake was honestly to die for.
The ambience and décor just enhanced our tea time treat after a stressful work day!
Fab 🙌

Cool food, great decor... Also a very nice selection of cakes.

Only thing that made me bleak was the R60 corkage fee, which I think is excessive. It's not disclosed anywhere on the menu either, which leaves you a bit in shock when you get the bill..

Tribeca is a really nice venue and its conveniently situated in the East of Pretoria. Close to the N1 for easy access and surrounded by a variety of restaurants.

Lively atmosphere with a good food selection. Their coffee is really good 😄😄 and their service was also quite okay.

Will visit again 😋😋

I have had breakfast a couple of times here. The menu is simple and classic but a really great bite its got quiet a busy morning service but the staff is very friendly the atmosphere is very nice with it being in a high end food court. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was quiet good too

Always a great vibe. Always good coffee. This is definitely the top Tribeca in pretoria. Sometimes it gets a bit loud inside but there is energy and that's great. If you have kids there is a cool fountain feature just outpace for them to play around so you can enjoy your crispy bacon pizza and house red wine in peace.

Tribeca serves really great coffee, it's the draw card to this restaurant. I love the US feel about the food and vibe. A bit pricey though.

My mother and I had lunch at Tribeca Standard and is was very satisfying.

She had the Philly Cheese and I had a pork belly sandwich.
we both indulged in a glass of wine and had a lovely time.

The environment was busy and cosy, a perfect shelter from the icy wind outside.

the service was pleasing despite how busy they were, all waiters are attentive to your needs and not.just the one assigned to our table.

the food was fresh and the meat cooked very tender and juicy.

I would definitely come here again with friends or family.

My wife and I drive through once a month for breakfast. It's worth the 30 minute trip from our house, big portions, not cut throat prices, but you pay a bit more for quality. The service has always been excellent and atmosphere great.

A great experience all round. Drinks are refreshing. The pork belly is amazing. The breakfast is pretty good. Their coffee is on point and their barista is well trained. It's value for money and a pleasurable experience. A place to make memories.

One of my favourite places to eat breakfast when I'm in Pretoria. They seem to have recently changed the breakfast menu and it was about time. Their standard breakfast is very good and it is HUGE. The new Monte Cristo breakfast is very interesting and delicious - definitely my new favourite breakfast choice on the menu. Apart from getting our eggs wrong (hard when we ordered soft) I can't really fault them. Their fresh juices are delicious and the build you own juice feature gets a thumbs up - I suggest apple, mint and ginger! The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is pretty good.

Awesome food, great coffee and killer service. Go to eatery if you're looking for great ambiance. Highly recommended cheese souffle, new York burger and perhaps a desert of which there is a lot to choose from :D

Ambience is so perfect and the food is good , wine and coffee goes off well here. Ideal to sit down for an afternoon cocktail or two, or for an aftershow drink

Thoroughly enjoyed TriBeCa...Brilliant food, Fantastic drinks and Great Service...Vibe of the place is very friendly, definitely worth popping in! One for the books

Tribeca Standard has the best coffee as well as a great menu. I love coming here for breakfast or for coffee and cake. I'd recommend their pork sausage sandwich as well which is delicious.

Went there after landing on Johannesburg and felt for a proper burger and I must say, it was a great tasting burger.. Had the new Yorker and what a juicy burger .. Then there was the great service we got!

I was very disappointed with there breakfast. We are regular customers and enjoy the food very much. But this Sunday morning the food was not up to standerd. I orderd the french toast and had to find out the hard way that there was an egg shell in my french toast and not n small piece the entire shell! My mothers cinnamon bannans were burned black and dry with no cinnamon on them. Also her scrambled eggs were dry and had already began to turn a green colour. So be aware when going for breakfast. You might get a surprise.

Not a bad restaurant. The food looked really nice and the menu had a nice variety. Great place to sit and have a cup of coffee before running off to run errands or whatnot. Was a bit disappointed with my soup as I was expecting a more traditional french onion soup but instead got a creamy version of what I expected. A bit too rich so I could not finish it. My friend really enjoyed her goat's cheese salad and it looked fantastic. Will come back and perhaps try something different.

I expected a bit more for breakfast, there was nothing out of the ordinary or really different on the menu. Vibe was good and I always love being outside on the fresh air.

Always a safe choice to make for a night out with delicious food, cool cocktails and a funky vibe. Staff are always friendly and attentive and the food is delicious and on the larger side of size of portions. This Tribecca has a little more variety than the one in Brooklyn and a little bit more sophisticated options where as Brooklyn is very much American Diner

Tribeca Standard is in a prime location for people watching while enjoying delicious dishes. Menu items may seem expensive, but portions are generous.

Service is adequate. A deliciously diverse breakfast menu is served until 11:30.
Choose between indoor or outdoor seating, and be sure to make a booking for large groups.

The roast chicken salad with a glass of wine remains a firm favourite. Always reliably good!

Lynnwood Bridge has a relaxed atmosphere and this adds to the charm of Tribeca. Great Pretoria staple!

Saturday afternoon and Lunchtime -Tribeca Standard our choice and a great choice it has been.
The restaurant is part of a food court in the upmarket Lynnwood Bridge centre. A spacious place, busy but not overcrowded and a light breeze wafted through the inside seating area, creating a pleasant atmosphere. I started out with a Pinacolada (yes!) and Hubby had a freshly squeezed juice with orange and pineapple. It's a much-loved drink of his, not easily found in most establishments. He enjoyed his mains: a special of sirloin steak, side salad and onion rings.
I had a meatball sandwich with beef meatballs (cooked in Marinara sauce for 4 hours) and grilled Mozarella cheese on ciabatta. The ciabatta was fresh, soft with a beautiful chewy crust. The meatballs were too dense and the mozarella overcooked. Also there was far too little of the marinara sauce to my taste! The chopped fresh chilli on the side was a godsend. It gave my mediocre dish that edge to satisfy my palate.
The number one for me was the Tummy Warmer at the end of my meal: espresso, hot milk, Amarula and salted caramel - not, suprisingly, too sweet at all. I stole this recipe to dazzle my guests in future!

TriBeCa has good coffee and also amazing breakfasts. Their berry Mojito at this branch is outstanding and has to be tried. Also every TriBeCa has a different menu so expect the unexpected.

Their burgers taste like pure soft steak and pizzas are great too.
Foodfood
This place had delicious coffee. Excellent service and even better cocktails. Very inventive and above the standard of any normal place. Tribeca is one of my favourite places and they never disappoint.

Best best best coffee!

Nice vibe in the restaurant, service is always pretty good and they make a decent pizza & peri peri chicken.
Monique Van Tonder
Great place for a coffee with a unique selection of drinks and desserts. We tried the Grasshopper khalua latte (peppermint with liquer drink) and a caramel amarula drink. A great winter warmer but a bit pricey at R38 each!

The food in general is pricey but the portions look good and the food looks appetizing enough.. be prepared to spend quite a bit..

Take note that the menu listed on Zomato is not the one available in the restaurant. They have a different dessert menu and drink selection. The cakes look amazing, will be back to try them!
Frik
amazing American food, Key lime pie milkshake and Texan dry rub ribs, burgers are awesome. Great service. Trendy place

The Pig pizza is an over indulgence of salty crunchy pork goodness....the food is always fresh and flavourful.....the staff polite and helpful. Well worth an afternoon stop.

Tribeca is quite popular among students these days, so I felt like I should give it a try. Not being the social type I ended up going with my dad, but hey, company is company. There were one or two options on the menu for vegetarians, but nothing that really seemed to excite me. I ended up having a salad, which turned out to be quite good and my dad enjoyed something meaty. The service was fast and friendly. I liked the experience, but at the end of the day it was forgetful. Tribeca isn't really the first thing that comes to mind when I have to recommend a restaurant to my friends.
