My absolute favourite place to eat, from their amazing and delicious breakfast buffet to the variety of other dishes they serve. A great place where the waiters are friendly and the food delicious!!
We had a quick dinner, good food, as always and good service. This is one of our best to go to places as you get value for your money.
Everytime we go out to Villa San Giovanni the food has been amazingly divine. Nice and clean restaurant. Hubby and kids just love it. Great atmosphere

Love their pizza's and their coffee caramel smoothy is to die for, they are a bit pricey but well worth it... Amazing atmosphere feels like your sitting on the runway, private lounge is great for events.
I've only been there for breakfast. But is was really enjoyable goid service and good food. I like the view over the airfield and a nice play area for kifs.

The kiddies play area is absolutely adorable and my children love it. There is a delicious chocolate folded Pizza which is to die for. Everyone must try. I don't even have a sweet tooth but it was Heavenly

This is one place I absolutely love! Firstly for the mere face that the restaurant is literally next to a runway so as you have your lunch you can see planes taking off and landing which I think is brilliant. The service of course was on point!
VSG is one of the only places in South Africa that has a rotating pizza oven so you can be assured that crispy crust is all round. Not to mention that they have a hotel as well so need a break away? There's your spot.
We were treated to a margarita pizza and a meaty pizza and wow was I amazed! The pizza was crispy, hot, stringy cheese and the works! The pizza really blew my mind.
Next to our surprise we were treated to some dessert pizza, dolci pizza. A Nutella filled pizza and a custards filled pizza, these were different as they were not round like a pizza but rather rolled up. Amazing to say the least, my words cannot do justice as to how good it was, you really need to try it out for yourself.
Giovanni's won 2nd best pizza place in Pretoria, by the Pretoria Explorer and we were keen to try them. The restaurant is run by a real Italian family and the seating area is rather large! Our waitress was very friendly and good. We were 14 and she new exactly who order was who's when the food came to the table. The menu is large and boosts a variety of options. The pizzas very very good! The base super crispy and firm. No soggy bottom. The flavours were good and I would certainly recommend it. They could have put some more tomato sauce on the base with more seasoning, but otherwise really good pizzas that didnt disappoint.
Reasonably priced and well worth the drive!
The butter chicken and Cajun chicken pizzas were very flavoursome! A menu offering a wide variety of foods, making for a difficult decision. Very impressed with the overall experience.

05.03.2017 After a really long drive (felt like i was in another province) finally arrived at the Wonder boom airport for our next participant in the pizza challenge.
As you enter this restaurant you walk into an intimate romantic setting. As you walk further you go into more of a casual open setting more inline with an airport vibe which is where we sat. We were warmly welcomed by the Maiorana family who have owned this restaurant for about 36 years, between the father (Giovanni) and his 2 sons (Christian and (Luca). They have a big menu with lots of variety, but we came for the pizza. They are the only restaurant with a rotating oven which ensures an even bake on the pizzas. We were given their Meat Feast pizza as well as the Margherita. As with the challenge we only rated them on 1 option. Personally my favourite was the meat feast it just had a lovely balance of taste, texture and flavour and the pizza Base was crisp and delicious, whereas I found the Margherita lacking in flavour and taste.
Before leaving we were given an extra treat in the form of dessert pizzas. Wow, beautifully presented and indulgent to eat. One was filled with Nutella and the other had a custard filling. Definitely a must for those with a sweet tooth.
Lovely experience and felt so at home with the family. If you wanting to go for a long drive and watch the planes take off and land then get to this spot.
P.s this review is solely based on the pizza we received on the day for the Pizza Challenge.
Being an airport based establishment, it is surprising to have amazing service at this small airport. Service with a smile, good breakfast and a view of incoming and departing planes gives this restaurant a touch of magic and adventure. Will come back as it is only 15kms from the Pretoria CBD.
I really enjoyed my first meal at this restaurant in the Wonderboom airport. I ordered the Napoli spaghetti. The portion was sizable, the sauce fresh and the pasta cooked well. It was also an inexpensive dish at R50.
The menu is extensive, and there are quite a few vegetarian meals on offer. The service was friendly and the manager stepped in to help when things got a bit busy. Overall, a good experience.
Had a picasso pizza (a bit small but otherwise very nice) and a cbc weiss. Service by waiter Alfred was legit. Very impressive menu. Will visit again
What a stunning little terrace ... looking out over the airstrip, we actually saw a 90 seater Airlink plane depart ... although the plane was grounded a week later. Also saw helicopter fly around.
On a Sunday, they have a buffet for R75. Hein chose that option and had some crispy potato cakes ...
D and I had flapjacks served with melted cheese, bacon and chips on the side. What a lovely dish.
L had the Halloumi and poached eggs and loved it.
I would love to go back and try other dishes. Service was good and it was all over a good experience.
Was here last month. Really enjoyed my 1st experience here. Went for breakfast and tried the jumping jack flap Jack. Really tasty, also with a great view of the air strip. Need go again soon
I have never heard about this place before, as I live in the east! But it's absolutely great! My boyfriend had the troia pizza, he loved it! It's a bit different than your normal avo feta and bacon pizza. I had a cheeseburger! It was delicious. Whenever we're close by we will definitely be coming back!
Spent the afternoon watching the planes and eating lunch at Villa San Giovanni. Was a pleasant afternoon and the food was good. I had prawn curry, tasteful and quite a plate full!! It is quite hot though, so i used the parmesan cheese to tone it down a little. Really enjoyed my meal, just found 3 small pieces of shell on one prawn that could have been left out. My partner had the Smokey Joe's Rib pizza, wasn't really anything special but he enjoyed it. He would have liked a little more sauce on the pizza. For dessert we shared the Jumping Jack (flapjacks, nutella, banana, cream and syrup) which was just the way to end off a great lunch. The flapjacks are slightly crumbly but with the nutella, cream, banana and syrup you can look past it - it was delicious!
Best pizza you'll ever eat. Ask to be served by Silas and you will have an awesome experience 😀 if pizza is not what you in the mood for pizza well the rest of the menu is just as impressive
It's such a beautiful place with grand view of flying planes. People are friendly and the food is tasty.
Although, we had to wait a while till we were served drinks and food.

Good food not cheap though excellent service from Ronald, service like what should be expected , not these new syled waitrons who dump your order in front of ypu and expect a tip ...this was text book hotel school service! Classy service ..classy place

This is one of THÉ best italian restaurants, in the whole of Pretoria. I highly recommend this to the whole family and also be on the lookout for specials they offer very good meals for affordable prices.
Be sure that we will visit them again in the near future!
Wow, the food was excellent! Worth all my pennies! It really is a must if you like fine dinning. Cocktails weren't that great! Either too sweet or a little to heavy handed. But that's not the main reason we went. If you really want a good piece of meat, they are definitely a must visit and lets not, not mention the pizza's. If you want to try a meatless day, try their vegetarian pizza, just as Good! And to top everything off. Their Crème Bruley, sorry if its not spelled right! WOW🫠Absolutley Perfect!

What a fantastic Valentines dinner with helicopter ride. This was great for a romatic night out at a very reasonable price. The staff is VERY welcoming, and made it feel even better than home. Service was great even though the place was very full. It's very spacious and very clean. Although everything was great the prawn was a bit of a let down, but they still deserve 5 stars, I will definitely go again just not for prawns. All the other food was spot on and tasty cocktails 🍸 See you guys again soon. 😁 Thank you for giving up your valentines night to make our valentines fantastic.
Amazing place! It's located in a national airport. This restaurant was almost full when I went to there. They have a lot kinds of beers and wines. And you can see the airplane when you eat.
Great kid friendly restaurant, in a relaxed atmosphere. They have quite a variety of options on their menu. The drive to Villa San Giovanni was well worth it.
Great food and very very large menu, but the slow service soured the experience a bit.

Villa San Giovanni has an amazing vibe, delicious Italian food, the waiters are friendly and the managers are open and engaging. Love this venue and recommend it to everyone. Safe and secure parking, and the interior is breathtakingly beautiful and modern.
Beautifully open designed seating, with incredible attention to detail and a rich history of the 40 year plus family restaurant, with tastefully displayed pictures of the memories and THE BEST Italian food I ever had. Definitely 10/10, a great experience to be shared with friends and family.
Looking for a place to unwind? The quality of food is amazing, the fresh ingredients will tantalise anyones tastebuds.
So to be point blank you’ll receive exceptional food, an amazing view and friendly staff. There’s simply nothing to complain about.
I will always recommend it and continue to treat myself to a visit.

There re two entrances to Villa San Giovanni; the one entrance from the airport takes you directly to the enclosed terrace with spacious seating area on comfortable chairs. From which exciting views of the aircrafts taking off and landing can be enjoyed. Spoil yourself with a variety of bespoke cocktails made with the finest ingredients while you look out at the mountains on the horizon. A wonderful dedicated area for kids to play with lots to keep them occupied for a long time. The highlight is that kids can make their pizzas in the Giovanni’s pizzeria , a gorgeous colourful children’s play area. Looking for something special? Ale’s creative room is where you can buy upscale and sort after children’s arts and crafts - Melissa and Doug and LEGO The kids love the area where they can create their own sand art
I was very impressed with the selection of tantalising Italian dishes. Having tried from the green salad and Russian salad (this is a must) to several slices of a tasty selection of pizzas and pastas, not to mention Italian Spaghetti Bolognaise, I had to go for seconds! The food is prepared with absolute care using ingredients in season and seems it’s ‘Mammas Secret Recipe’ is still be used to create every mouthful. Presentation of the food is wonderful making you want even more. There is an A’la Carte Menu and a regular weekly special board. A superb selection of local and imported drinks in exclusive glasses are available. For those wanting a more tranquil, fine dining this is catered for in a more relaxing but slightly exclusive area which has an ornately carved floor to ceiling wooden cabinet for cooling wines. Bespoke metal lanterns hanging from the ceiling above beautifully laid tables. Impressive decor with calm lighting. There is WiFi available and one of the top-trained waitrons will be glad to assist with connecting. Waitrons are all well groomed and attentive – service is superb! Fascinatingly they have real leather aprons. Upstairs is a j&b smoking lounge and good to know that this area can also be booked for private functions. All round a great place to enjoy real Italian food and the owner being hands on came to check up on guests to see how they are doing with a warm Mediterranean welcome.
Airport pit stops or Sunday breakfast run , it doesn’t get much more entertaining than this , oh and the food is amazing. One of the most extensive menus I’ve seen !
I cannot fault the food, orders Penne pasta something and it was divine. Service was great too. Kids play area not as big and interesting as I would've liked it, the service were kids made their own pizzas was not mind blowing, the toppings were sadly disappointing and the pizza's weren't appetizing.
Very good service. Even tho the one meal was q bit raw the manager immediately took it away and braught a new one. Clean tables and chairs. The view is also very nice because of the runway right next to it.

Menu is so out of this world with amazing Italian cuisine but still a touch of South African, with pizza, pasta, meat dishes and seafood dishes. Don't forget desserts and yummy milkshakes.
They also have a fine dining section for a little more quiet and romantic setting. Perfect as well for private functions.
Last but definitely not the least a wine collection of note. Even a J & B Jet lounge.

Beautiful relaxing scenery. Food was amazing and was served quicker than we anticipated. The kids play area is just the cherry on top.
