Review Prosopa Restaurant - Pretoria

Chane Liebenberg
Celebrated both mine and my boyfriend's birthdays (which is just 8 days apart) at this charming greek restaurant over the weekend. The experience was nothing short of royal treatment, complete with perfect cocktails and a fantastic atmosphere. The restaurant's menu offered an excellent variety of dishes at incredibly reasonable prices. Nico, our server, went above and beyond to make our celebration special by arranging complimentary drinks at the end of the night for both of us, making it even more special. The highlights of the evening were definitely the brinjal starter and the Greek milk tart. We can't wait to return for another memorable evening!

I absolutely love the new look Prosopa! It's modern, but very inviting and cozy. The food was amazing... Literally the first time in my life that I had aubergine that I liked (okay, loved!). The ribeye steak was done to perfection, and the Crème Brûlée was some of the best I've had. Patron Chef Dino is friendly, fun and attentive, and the waiters were efficient and welcoming. Did I mentioned that the prices were lower than I expected for food of this caliber? I'll stop gushing. Just visit Prosopa!

Excellent service and friendly staff. They presented the food beautifully.

A well decorated Greek restaurant with friendly helpful staff. There is a fireplace in the center making it nice and cosy for the coming winter time. The vegetarian platter was delicious and filling. Go do something different, go Greek!

Always a great experience! Superb wine list and very attentive waiters. The fried brinjals are amazing and besides the wine was the highlight for me! Highly recommended

Edwin was our waiter, excellent service, attention to detail. The food was delicious and the wine recommendations made every single meal better. The atmosphere was chilled,a bit of an older crowd on a Saturday morning and a bit quieter than most places in sandton but thats actually why this is a hidden gem especially if you want to have an amazing first date or great conversations with friends! Also an added bonus is the great parking!

Fantastic service. Food hot when it arrived at table. Delicious burger with herbs within the patty. Patty was succulent. Home made bun. Atmosphere of restaurant great, relaxing and love the neighborhood it's situated within.

It was a treat to remember. Staff was caring, got food warm and delicious!!! The wine selection is out of this world# great spot for wine tasting. Try to make a reservation for later in the evening but you can try your luck during the day.

Everything was great, Starters, Mains and dessert. The starters I feel was great with the correct portion size, not being too big to spoil the mains, but still tasty. The mains, well, it was great. I had the rib eye steak special and was up there with the best. I normally take the steak, eating at a new restaurant, as a gauge to compare against what I had previously at other places, and this was great. I will definitely be back ASAP. The service was great, friendly and efficient. Ok yes we received an aubergine snack for the table... I never even conceived that an aubergine could taste THAT good! Wow

Prosopa is a wonderful restaurant with great food and n very romantic atmosphere. The fairy lights give the setting a magical feeling. The staff is very friendly and professional and regularly check up if everything is okay. The food is truly out of this world and their wine selection is top notch. I would definitely recommend Prosopa to anyone that wants to have a special night out.

A stylish Greek restaurant, food is tasty and well prepared, service is good too. The decor is great and the fireplace (gas) adds a welcome cosiness to the setting. The only negative for me was that the portions were only moderate, but, the food is tasty and nicely prepared, definitely worth a visit.

Hi Dino and Staff Loading shedding a problem, not at Prosopa restaurant!! I had dinner with my partner n 5 year old son. I was very impressed with all Staff. They are sweet, caring and on point ever time ... The lay out off the restaurant is so calm and relaxing even after a 12 hour shift at work. Let's not talk abt the food !!!! Omg so fresh and tasty 😋 😍 😜 like they just picked the fish out off the sea and put it on ur 🍽 🍛 🍽 plate. Plus the dessert was out off the world cause I dnt really enjoy sweet treats, yet the dessert was on point!! Fine dinning at it best 👌 👍 😍 From the Staff to the atmosphere

Waiters are friendly, the food AMAZING and the managers are delightful. We had a fabulous last dinner for Restaurant Week 2022 and wil for sure be returning again.

This restaurant has great service and nice food. I had the lamb shank, even though it was delicious and the meat fell off the bone, I felt the sauce was over powering and on that note I have had better shanks. The carrots on the plate were hard so I did not eat them. Everyone else enjoyed their food too and we all had a good time.
Kim Mthethwa
My favorite restaurant in South Africa. Never disappoints, the food is always on point, tasteful and delicious every time. I cannot get enough of this restaurant, the service is superb and a great wine list. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

A hidden gem in in Waterkloof heights. Attention to detail and only the best ingredients are used in the preparation of the fantastic Greek dishes. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I went there for dinner last night to celebrate 10 years of being together. It was the second time we've eaten there and this time was just as great as the first time. Our waiter Wesley gave us very good service, and both he and the owner made sure we were happy. The food was amazing... from starter to dessert. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be eating there again.

I went for Sunday lunch with my family. My mom is a very strict vegetarian, the rest of us eat it all. The restaurant itself is stylish and spotlessly clean. A lovely chap called Weasley introduced himself as our waiter. Owner and chef Dino came over and made some suggestions, as I believe one should, we took his advice...and what great advice is was. For two hour we were transported to the Plaka in Athens. Each dish beautifully presented, authentic, delicious and freshly made. All in all, a wonderful meal in a wonderful environment. Highly recommended!
Barbora Tellinger
One of my favourite restaurants. Great menu, great wine selection, and a personal touch from staff and owner.

We had a Baptisms event Sunday 19 Nov. the service was so professional. The waiters are excellent. The starters and main and desserts to die for. Thank you Dino for such an awesome experience. Keep up the good food🍓

Very good food, was just disappointed with the chocolate mousse which was actually a ganache...

Had lunch with friends on Saturday and it was awesome. The food was amazing and the ambiance . It wasn't busy so the service was perfect.....will definitely visit again!!

Great ambiance, peronalised attention from owner/manager and although small portions the food was great. Will be back.

Celebrated my 50th on Saturday at Prosopa. What a wonderful experience, excellent service, ambiance and food. Thank you very much from myself and all my guests.
Tanja Lakic
Great food and service! Will definitely be going back for more 😊
Katherine Kirkbride
Great food. Some hygiene issues need sorting out through training of staff, but definitely a place to go.
Thandi Mpanza
Dino, the owner is very hands on... he gives personal attention to all his clients. The Prawn pasta I had was just delicious. I love that they pay attention to allergies and still offer “happiness on a plate”. If ever you find yourself in that part of Pretoria, do pay them a visit .
Sorina Mulke
Amazing service from Edwin! Fantastic lamb ribs and fried eggplant. Attentive hostess. Reasonably priced wine per glass.
Silindile Mncwabe
Came here on Saturday for a late lunch, the place was fairly empty which made it even easier to enjoy. The service was friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious I would love to come back here for dinner. It’s a definite must try

Wow is all i can say. Service and food was exceptional. Romantic and warm setting. Would recommend their Seafood Bisque, it is their specialty and believe when i say it leaves you wanting more.  We were there on a rainy day so they had the fire place on and that for me always sets a mood. BIG RECOMMEND
Katia Engelbrecht
Wow is all I can say. I will be honest when I made a reservation, I was a bit skeptical and didn't raise my standards too high. When we got there, I thought it was going to be an average evening, and boy was I wrong! They gave us a teaser of their aubergine dish which was absolutely stunning! I would have never thought it was aubergine!! From the starter, to the main meal, to the very smooth creme brulee, everything was just perfect!! Our waiter was so friendly and helpful!! The atmosphere was so romantic! Definitely a great place to spend my anniversary!! I would definitely go back again!!
Ben-Louis De Swardt
Amazing menu and exceptional wine list. This place must be on your bucket list!! The staff are also very friendly and helpful! If you need a quiet place with good vibes then this is a must!

If there was an example of a perfect night out at a restaurant, this was it. Out of my many restaurant experiences, my dining experience here had set the standard.<br/>I was introduced to a great selection of dips as well as the zucchini. The trio of dips were amazing and the zucchini literally warmed the palettes on what was to come later.<br/>The starter of prawns and brinjals kept the amazing momentum going. The brinjals had a crispness going and the prawns and sauces complemented each other nicely.<br/>For the mains, the lamb kleftika was had a good taste of the Mediterranean. The steak temperature was spot on.<br/>They finished the evening with desserts that were too sweet and with good of South African flavors.<br/>Service was top class from the waiters and management and the ambiance was perfect.
Bronwen Dehrmann
The Brinjal appetizer was divine and so were there white fish coujons... yummy yummy. The prawn curry was nice and spicy...delicious. Lamb kleftiko and Galaktouberiko for desert was amazing. The chocolate mousse was disappointing because it wasn’t a mousse it was a very rich ganache. Ambience was very nice and food came out very quickly. We will be back .

Our first visit to Prosopa, we loved it!!<br/>What a little gem! Good food, nice big wine selection.<br/>The mousaka are really good!<br/>Owner and staff very friendly and make you feel at home .<br/>Awesome Greek food! Definitely worth going

Full marks for this excellent eatery. From the owner's friendly and personal welcome to the food and wine to exceed expectations. Shortly after ordering starters we were given a complimentary side of deep fried eggplant slices with ricotta cheese and a light skordalia-like dip. This was my first truly positive interaction with eggplant. The moussaka was an excellent follow up to the garlic snails. The eggplant was perfectly cooked and the moussaka was firm and delicious. Best Greek food I've ever had. Melissa Van Der Westhuizen

My daughter and I popped in for dinner on Friday evening. The ambiance and the service is great. I was pleasantly surprised to see they starch their napkins - a nice touch. I ordered the chocolate chilli fillet and was looking forward to their take on the Madame Zingara signature dish. I was disappointed. The steak is served on top of a generous portion of spicey cabbage with a few potato wedges on the side. The fillet was perfect and the chocolate chilli was marvellous. BUT this lovely dish was completely overwhelmed by the very spicey cabbage, to the extent that one couldn't really taste the meat and sauce. An excellent fillet was spoilt by the cabbage! The dish also didn't work visually for me - it needed more colour and imagination. I would rather serve the fillet on a bed of mashed potato or an equivalent starch with some green and orange veggies on the side. I did mention my concern to the duty manager who was very receptive to my suggestion. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
Chris Grobbelaar
Wow! What an amazing restaurant! From the moment we arrived till when we forced ourselves to leave everything was exactly spot on! The service was spectacular, thank you Talent for your amazing, heartily and friendly service making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for tonight. And then the food... Probably the best serving of Greek/Mediterranean food I've had. All in all such a wonderful restaurant. Will most certainly be visiting again soon!!!
Vanessa Manugu
I finally got an opportunity to dine at Prosopa. I had lunch with my friend on a Sunday. The restaurant was fairly busy. The owners were even there on the day. Very friendly people.<br/>It's unfortunate I didn't have much of an appetite so I couldn't indulge in authentic Greek food. I ordered Chicken Livers and Lamb Ribs. The livers were delicious, the ribs, not so much. They were too tough, difficult to chew. <br/>Service from our waiter was great. He was very attentive. <br/>I'd like to give it another try very soon.

Celebrated a birthday with dinner at Prosopa. A beautiful Mediterranean-style restaurant with beautiful, crisp decor. The ambiance is romantic and relaxing and there is also a fireplace which adds something extra to the ambiance. Booking and welcoming went smooth and easy. The staff were friendly, well informed and very helpful. The service was great. We ordered different dishes and all the food, without fail, was delicious and the wine list impressive. Overall a happy and satisfying dinner experience.

Great food, great set up! Had one of the best lamb shanks and chili chocolate steaks here! Totally amazing and worth every penny! You get your money's worth! Absolutely love this place. And the service is amazing! Love the wine selection too!
Ella
Excellent evening! The food was really good, no complaints whatsoever. The vibe and buzz was warm and friendly. The owner is ever present, and the waiters are professional. The centre fire-place is beautiful and really adds to the great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I have been here for an anniversary and a farewell. It's a great place for both an intimate dinner or a big group event. The manager is such a delight as he is very accommodating. The food has so much flavour and the portion are reasonable. The cheesecake is definitely a must have for all people with a sweet tooth. I would definitely go back and have recommended to many of my friends and family.

Prosopa has the advantage of being relatively exclusive and has a great menu where everything on offer is pretty tasty. It was a cold winters night but the restaurant was warm and not noisy. The menu can be considered pricey but is well worth the spend. Great visit!

Ambiance and food was absolutely amazing. It's definitely a place where you can see the love of food from the owner. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner or special occasion.

I was surprised with a dinner at Prosopa restaurant in Waterkloof. And oh what a surprise. First time visit and I was so excited to try this upmarket restaurant. We were greeted by our waiter Talent. He was super! Fast, kind and always made sure we were satisfied with everything. Truly one of the best waiters I've evvvvvver had anywhere! Most beautiful decor and atmosphere. Love that they have a small secluded area for a bit more quiet time from the business of the main part of the restaurant. For starters we had croquettes, pita bread with garlic and feta as well as complimentary fried brinjals with feta and herbs and skordalia which is a thick purée. - DELICIOUS! I didn't think I liked brinjals at all until I had them here. For mains we had the pepper fillet steak as well as the prawn curry. The prawn curry is spicy but incredibly yummy! Dessert, we opted for the ice cream kisses. The food was exceptional and we had an absolutely lovely and romantic dinner. Will be back soon! FOR SURE!

We booked at Prosopa for restaurant week. We were warmly welcomed by the owner which was a refreshing sight. <br/><br/>Some of the wines were out of stock but we had a good one nonetheless. <br/><br/>The food was exceptional, the prawn curry amazing. The pasta not so much and a bit dry, but only in comparison. <br/><br/>The steak was butter soft and the prawns rich and yummy. <br/><br/>The restaurant did mess up my allergy and brought me food that i clearly stated on booking and when arriving that i could not eat. <br/><br/>The chocolate mousse was way too sweet for me, but a sweet tooth might indulge. <br/><br/>Overall, errors are easily forgiven with the amazing food, vibe and owner presence.

Dino makes an magnificent restauranteur . Modern greek cuisine with a few classic options . Wine tasting with food paring evenings always exciting.

The restaurant has a very lovely and friendly atmosphere with good service. We were greeted by the manager on arrival and instantly made us feel welcome. For starters we shared a generous portion of chicken livers which was good, but not the best that I've had in and around Pretoria.<br/><br/>For mains we ordered the meze platter for two, switched the dolmades for chicken souvlaki sticks which they were happy to do. Additionally we ordered the lamb ribs starter.<br/>The platter consisted of two items of each dish - the brinjals were the standout as they were quite delicious (for someone who doesn't actually like brinjals!).<br/>Keftedes and the spanakopita were really great as well, lots of flavour and prepared well.<br/><br/>We found the souvlaki and lamb ribs to be quite disappointing - chicken souvlaki was dry and not a lot of flavour. The lamb ribs' sauce was delicious, but there was barely any meat on the bone, more fat than anything else... The sauce kind of made up for the little meat though.<br/><br/>The tzatziki and skordalia was simply delicious, accompanied by the herb pita, awesome.<br/><br/>Wine is quite pricey and a corkage fee of R98 was charged.<br/><br/>All in all a good night, delicious food and a great and friendly atmosphere.
Carol Dippenaar
Prosopa is an amazing, beautiful restaurant situated in a quiet shopping centre. Dino's wine list is impressive and his food is delicious.  Hubby does not eat brinjals... except at Prosopa (one of Prosopa's starter options)!  Delicious!
Anna Potgieter
I had such a lovely evening at Prosopa. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with beautiful little round lights handing from the ceiling which have a lovely effect. The service was friendly, attentive and polite. <br/><br/>We decided to order 4 platters rather than a main so that we could try various tastes. We started with complimentary fried brinjal from the chef. What a treat! It was crispy and delicious. We then had our prawn starter which was served in a tasty tomato sauce with dipping bread. We had snails in a garlic sauce. We had calamari with lemon and rice. Lastly we had very tasty, flavor-filled spanakopita.<br/><br/>I really enjoyed only ordering starters so I was able to taste various things. It was a lovely evening.
Anya Kleinhans
Lovely restaurant! Exquisite ambience and delicious food! The fried brinjal starter was fantastic, the lamb shank fell off the bone and the rooibos creme brûlée was the perfect end to a great night at Prosopa! The best part was that they happily accommodated my dog as well! Definitely one of my new favourite restaurants in Pretoria!

Prosopa is an upmarket restaurant with a relaxing ambience. We were received in a friendly manner by the owner and staff and made to feel welcome. The service was good and the food of a high quality. It is a charming restaurant to be recommended.

After a Spur of the moment decision to try Prosop, off we were for what would end up been a great evening. The restaurant has a great intimate setting, candle lit with soft lighting. Service is excellent with the manager/owner ensuring you have the best of experiences. A complimentary starter was brought to the table which was delicious. The rest of the food was prepared to perfection and was absolutely divine. This is a more pricey restaurant but it is definitely worth it. One of the best Greek restaurants I have been to. A must try.
Frans Pretorius
One of our best dinner evenings this year. <br/>We can recommend Dino's choices on the menu. <br/>The service was excellent, friendly and passionate.
Roelia Schoeman
The restraurant is in a quiet shopping centre, so no problem getting parking, and the restaurant wasn't unpleasantly overcrowded and noisy.  They've got an excellent wine list and mainly greek-style food.  The white fish goujons was very good, as well as the chicken souvlaki in pita.  Quality and taste of the meals was of high standard. The decor is stylish but understated (which is okay!) and the service was good.  A lovely, relaxing experience. It is a good spot of a cozy lunch or romantic night out!

We went to prosopa for our 2 year anniversary we were first off all blown away on the ambience of the place it feels accommodating and rich, and pleasant we were seated in our booth table and was welcomed by the owner Dino who really without doubt is the best restaurant host I ever came across it felt like we known him for years and he came to us made sure we are doing fine, in a both professional and friendly manner, then the food, the quality of the food, the taste and the presentation is just brilliant, we decided that this is our new restaurant we were absolutely blown away<br/>Tami and Drix

Prosopa is a lovely, ambient spot tucked away in a quiet shopping centre. Dino has done wonders both with his impressive wine selections and simple yet comprehensive take on a lot of signature Greek dishes!<br/><br/>My shellfish bisque starter with brandy, dill and creme fraiche was superb. The consistency that the creme fraiche adds to the dish is impressive! <br/>After that it was onto the lamb ravioli which didn't fail to impress either. <br/><br/>Great wine selections - tick.<br/>Ambiant, romantic interiors and lighting - tick. <br/>Great, hands on service and attention to detail - tick. Generous portions and tasty Greek food - tick. <br/><br/>I am MOST impressed and Prosopa just topped my list of favourite dinner venues in Pretoria. <br/><br/>*Recommendation: Gents, this is a go-to for a romantic date night that is bound to impress!
Sonia Naik
A place quite far out but worth a visit nonetheless. Ordered the spanakopita which was great. Had a refreshing yoghurt and mint dressing with it. We also ordered the pita breads and dips platter. Another great dish. The halloumi was very different compared to the usual. It was served with a grape chutney 👌 we were also served fried brínjal on the house which was amazing! Desserts were yummy too. Sweet enough to be a desert but not overly sweet to kill. Great service. A place worth returning to...

My wife and I visited Prosopa for a romantic dinner, and was truly amazed by the great service and excellent food. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. <br/><br/>When we got there our table was set up with rose petals and candles. <br/><br/>I enjoyed a rib eye steak, served rare and its not often that a chef manage to deliver my steak warm and perfectly rare. <br/><br/>We also enjoyed an excellent wine from there extensive wine collection.
Carice De Jager
Had a lovely dinner at Prosopa last night, the place was full which gave it a nice atmosphere!<br/><br/>The specials all sounded great and their wine selection is good too! <br/><br/>The service was on the slow side.<br/><br/>The snails were awesome, the Spanish prawns were okish, a bit cold.<br/><br/>Three of us had the lamb special which was amazing!! The portions are also very generouse.<br/><br/>The bread with the starters is out of this world!<br/><br/>When my mom complained about her steak's sauce having to much pepper the manager was very attentive and took the complaint well by offering for a new dish.<br/><br/><br/>I appreciated that, and I love the idea of the R5 for Street Smart SA!<br/><br/>Thank you Prosopa! Will be back soon.
Hennie Oelofse
Read some of the reviews and decided to try it out. Great decision!! Ambiance and service good. You must try the Fried Bringals, and the Rib-eye Steak is awesome. Overall very good experience. Will be back!

We read the review in the Sunday Times and we were really curious. It actually was very good. Food was fantastic, well balanced with a very nice combination of spicy and sweet (chocolate and chilli fillet steak). My wife had the lamb which was also great.<br/>Atmosphere was good, the waiter however was not very engaged.
Adriaan Diederichs
Searching for a different venue with a different menu, brought us to this gem of a fusion Greek style eatery. Perfect for a cold winters night.<br/><br/>We were greated by our friendly waiter Talent . The manager on duty Duncan made some super suggestions about their extensive wine list ( fyi R89 for corkage will discourage you to bring your own).<br/><br/>We decided to have the Morgenster Nu Merlot 2013 which complemented our main courses beautifully.<br/><br/>I had the Rib Eye steak aka Dinos choice with a supurbly served gatlic velouté - salty with sweet sour crushed patatos and creamed spinach ( infortunately the rib-eye did not come medium rare as ordered ) however still tasty. My partner had the Chilly Chocolate Fillet with garlic beans and crushed lemon potatos. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal and wine.<br/><br/>Lovely efficient service that was ended with delish Baklava and Tribeca coffee cuppachino. <br/><br/>2 glasses of complimentary ClementGold desert wine ended a most enjoyable and highy recommended experience at Prosopa!
Chantel Van Niekerk
What a stunning restaurant! <br/>From the meze starters to their specials that they had available.. Top notch!!<br/>I had the ostrich cooked to perfection, topped with camembert and grape chutney with curry lentils on the side. Better quality will be hard to find!!<br/>For dessert, they spoilt me with the best chocolate mouse i have ever tasted!! <br/>Definitely a restaurant to consider for fine dining!
Amanda Harrison
We had a great time at Proposa, the food was good, but the Baklava was amazing. Best wine selection I've ever seen, even beats the Cape. Our waiter Talent was extremely attentive and he knows the menu and wine pairing well. Best restaurant in Gauteng.

On Mothers Day I was out with my best friend and our mothers for a treat at Prosopa. The food, drinks and desert were amazing. The service we received was amazing. I wouldn't mind going there for a wine and din with family or friends

I've been longing to visit Prosopa for awhile now.<br/><br/>For starters, we had the fried squid heads with a tomato chutney and aioli. It was tasty but could have been fried a little longer. <br/><br/>We had the vegetarian platter and spaghetti marinara for mains. The pasta was well prepared and light. The vegetarian platter was rather disappointing. The herbed pita bread was delicious however the dolmades was bitter, the zucchini keftes was salty, the spanakopita and fried brinjal was bland.<br/><br/>Their cappuccinos and double espresso were not good at all.<br/><br/>When we received the bill, we found an additional charge for a streetsmart charity.......the amount was small but nonetheless a surprise as the restaurant just took the liberty of adding it to our bill without even asking. When we asked the Manager about it, he simply blamed the waiter. <br/><br/>Overall, a disappointing experience!!!

Midweek meandering lead us to a perfect starry evening in Waterkloof Heights @prosopa contemporary Mediterranean menu, excellent wines and casual cool but efficient service. Owner operated and all round impressive! ✨💕 'After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one's own relatives' ~ Oscar Wilde <br/>Mezze platters highly recommended... Will be back.
Anathi Tshobonga
Absolutely stunning place with food that is out of this world.I highly recommend it.My family and I had a great time there...and oh!the service is awesome as well!truly nothing to complain about from my experience there :-)
JoMo
Delious food, great vibe and good wine. A very classy approach to Greek cuisine in a modern setting within the heart of Waterkloof. The owner was there who then took the time to give us the specials of the day which was a great personal touch as he had noticed that we were first timers at Prosopa. I would recommend the meze for two with extra tarama and chilli feta together with a cold Butcher's Block Pale Ale to for a taste combo. Cas

What an excellent evening with proper Greek flair! The dolomades was a firm favourite with the mouthwatering Spanish Prawn Tagliatelle taking the cake. Not to even mention the Rooibos Creme Brulee. For an evening to remember and too much good food to choose from, you just have to visit Prosopa. Mediterranean memories made!
Juanita Wolmarans
Very nice food and very nice people! The waiters are very professional and make you feel at home. The specials of the day was unique and very delicious.
Mark H
Just honest, classy good food with great service. World class. Wonderful. Chef was on hand to discuss signature dishes. Table staff are very well informed, engaging and professional. The wine list excellent. The deserts ate something else.

A place to definitely try out.. <br/><br/>My friends and I went for the Ken Forrester Gourmet dinner hosted at Prosopa by Nickey Bothma and what an amazing experience that was. A five course dinner paired with delicious wine from Ken Forrester. <br/><br/>First we had the seared duck breast with fennel Salad and citrus dressing. <br/><br/>Then followed the second course of Parma ham, sweet melon, rockets with a balsamic reduction. Balanced dish on a whole other level 👌<br/><br/>Third course was a medium grilled lamb chop with spiced lentils and some tahini yogurt. <br/><br/>Main course was a deliciously served Karoo ostrich fillet with honey, soy and star anise reduction with Greek lemon potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables. <br/><br/>And of course save the best for last, dessert consisting of gorgonzola phyllo roll with baked fig and mixed berries. Omg this is definitely some yummy for your tummy. <br/><br/>Not forgetting that each meal is paired with a lovely Ken Forrester wine 👌🍷<br/><br/>Service is on point and a lovely ambiance and setting that just engulfs the restaurant. The owner Dino himself is there which is always comforting.. Really had a good time here and will definitely be back The Pretoria Explorer

Lovely little place!<br/><br/>As this was a belated Valentines dinner, Duncan the manager, was kind enough to bedazzle our table a little. He had placed rose petals all over the table and upon arrival, we were served some amazing (and rather potent) bubbly.<br/><br/>The food was great and the setting was quite romantic
Nicola De Veredicis
My wife and me were there today, and everything was perfect. In spite of the restaurant being full (Valentine's Day), service was fast and accurate. White tablecloth and serviettes, immaculate.  The food was splendid, from the meze platter to the calamari, to the dessert (galactobourekas). And Dino is a wonderful person, efficient and friendly. Definitely a place to come back to.

What started as random plans ended up to be a superb night of good food and great wine. The wine list is quite extensive and the haloumi divine! Enjoyed the lamb shank extensively and most of all the great service with which it was served. The owner Dino is amazing and most certainly am going to accept the invitation for the wine pairing this year. Oh and the chocolate mousse paired with dessert wine was a winner !!!!

Had dinner here with my family after reading several good reviews. <br/><br/>It was a quite evening at the restaurant but everything was perfect. Starting with the spreads platter as a starter, fillet as a main and the "greek milktart" for desert. Everything was amazing.<br/><br/>Our waiter was awesome and his service impeccable. Good selection of wines available.<br/><br/>I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back!
Tania
We love this restaurant and will always have the fried brinjals, the BEST. My husband had the fillet which was cooked perfectly. Do yourself the favour and visit.
Nadia Botha
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident. We were planning on going to another reataurant in the same shopping complex, but they were closed for the night due to renovations. <br/>Prosopa looks very impressive from the outside even though they have no restaurant name board outside, so at first we did not know where we were until we received some menus.<br/>We ordered some wine and decided to try the flatbread with feta for starters. It does not look appealing on my photo but it sure was tasty. The manager gave us some fried bringels to taste on the house, we enjoyed this alot and found it generous. We also enjoyed the luxurious atmosphere in the restaurant. <br/>Then the mains arrived. Since this is a greek restaurant I decided to go for the lamb, which is also listed as one of their speciality dishes. I was severely dissapointed. The sauce on the lamb was tomato based and tasted like chopped tomato and onions out of a can. It spoiled the whole dish as it had a very sour taste. The lamb itself was way too dry and tasteless. <br/>My husband order the rib eye steak, which was according to the menu, Dino's choice, I think he may be the chef. This dish was also extremely disappointing. The rib eye steaks were very thin, it was also tasteless, very tough and dry. It resembled a sirloin steak and tasted like one as well. It is deflating when you order and pay for a rib eye steak and then receive a sirloin instead. <br/>So we decided to give the restaurant a final chance to redeem itself, we ordered some baklava for dessert. This was a very tiny dessert for a big price. It was dry and had more of a dessert spring roll feel to it than a baklava. <br/>Although we were impressed by the restaurant's atmosphere and decor as well as the manager's generosity I cannot give this restaurant more than 3 out of 5, as we unfortunately had 3 disappointing dishes out of 5.

Pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and peaceful setting of this quaint restaurant.<br/>From the cosy booths inside, to the open, relaxed setting created outside on the deck, Prosopa left my mom and I speechless!!<br/><br/>We shared a spinach and feta pastry for starters, enjoyed a chilli chocolate steak with chips and cabbage, and lamb served on creamed spinach with butternut puree for mains. We indulged in a bottle of Beyerskloof Pinotage while thoroughly enjoying our meals.<br/><br/>For dessert we chose the Greek milk tart and the Rooibos creme brulee and were far from disappointed with our decision.<br/><br/>Extremely glad I stumbled upon this little piece of food heaven!<br/><br/>

Terrible service. Incredible food. Beautiful wine menu. Romantic setting. All round the evening was pleasant minus the long waits. If you're into meat (the food kind) then order their chili chocolate steak. WOW!

I am so overwhelmed with gratitude for Duncan who made my partners Birthday so unbelievably special. Firstly we were given a private booth and personally greeted by management. The food and presentation was outstanding and the Scottish salmon done to perfection. We were also given special desserts and and a sherry to help continue with our celebrations. This is definitely a place for celebrations ..Thank you for making the evening so memorable.

This was the most beautiful experience I have ever had at a restaurant. My man took me here for our 1 year anniversary... It was the most romantic dinner ever. The owner seated us in a quite closed off area. Where we had our waiter cater to our every need. The food was so out of this world delicious. I am now convinced that GREEK FOOD is the best!! The ice cream!!! Oh my, this place has really won over my heart and TUMMY!

Haddad wedding at Prosopa restaurant on Saturday 24th October was a huge success. <br/><br/>Thank you to Dino, Duncan and Blessing, Nicholas and the other staff who served on the night, for making the function a memorable one for Sascha, Edmund, family and friends.<br/><br/>The table settings were done exactly according to the verbal instructions given early in the day. Impressive. The ambiance is understated city chic, exactly what was needed to complement the style of the wedding. The tapas/canapes were tasty and freshly made. The main courses were well presented, delicious and the portions were more than generous. The vegetarian main course was tasty and much appreciated. The desserts, a selection of cheese cakes and chocolate cake, were heavenly. The service was efficient, the staff friendly and well trained. Attention to detail by the owner and staff was evident throughout the function.<br/><br/>Prosopa, we highly recommended your establishment.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. I took my mother for what I thought would be a special Sunday lunch. Service was slow right from the start. The Manager made recommendations based on the specials of the day and once we had our food did not bother to come see whether we were happy with our choices - one of which was "his own recipe"! My steak was over cooked and the sauce overpowering. The waiters made no eye-contact and no one came to check if we were happy, so I was not able to convey my dissatisfaction or order an extra side of vegetables to compensate for a small steak and 4 tiny <br/>potato wedges - this after being told that the steak would be served with Greek style lemon potatoes. As we were hungry, we proceeded to eat our meal as quickly as possible and call for the cheque. A rather pricey bad experience for me!

Great Sunday lunch on the veranda. Freshly-made tarama and olive tappenade, chicken livers full of spunk, Caesar salad with yummy aioli, all capped by delicious sea bass served pan-fried with crispy skin. Great winelist, all price rangeas. Finished of with a deep and tasty americano. Will be back soon!

My first Greek experience, I love Greek food but I hardly ever find places that cater fully greek. The plan wasn't to eat here but upon finding the restaurant we planned to eat at was closed so we opted for this place the service was rather slow especially considering how empty the place was. The food was cooked to our taste the fish of the day specifical sounded superb but I wasn't in the mood for fish. Sunday well spent with my family.
Emma
Romantic and intimate setting with pleasant waiters but was very disappointed with the fillet that I had ordered. Potatoes and beans were cold and my fillet was overdone. It was a poor piece of meat with little flavour and seasoning. My boyfriend had the Kleftiko Ravioli but also lacked flavour and was poorly constructed. Unfortunate experience seeing as it has 4.4 rating.
Berno Verwey
Had the Kleftiko Ravioli which was poor. It lacked seasoning and it was not proper ravioli, rather just squares of pasta with lamb meat in a meat sauce. The atmosphere was good and drinks not bad either, the food was unfortunately just not what I expected from a restaurant with such high ratings. Very disappointed.

I went to this Beautiful dinning pleasure on Friday 35/09/15 and found it to be my best dining experience to date. The food was great, the staff was well mannered, friendly and helpful. The chef whose name I have forgotten was pleasurable and most hospitable.<br/><br/>I suggest you go and spend your hard earned money there: it will be worth your while.

I'm so glad to have found this place! My best friend and I are always in search of the best burgers in Pretoria and Prosopa really impressed us! From the managerial to food to waitering services, it was all top class!

If you looking for divine food and a lovely atmosphere this is a place not to miss. Good flavours and presentation not mention the heavenly Aubergine starter and Chocolate and chilli Fillet!

The food was really good, and the service delightful.  However, the music choice (Imagine Dragons and Taylor Swift), together with two very loud children ruined the ambience.

Just walked out of Prosopa <br/>Made reservation several days ago. Drove all the way from Johannesburg to be told no reservation we are having a wine tasting.<br/>Upon complaining the owners wife told me and I quote " We don't need your business"<br/>As I left the owner rushed out with a free bottle of wine ( Rupert and Rothchild 😝) Which I refused.<br/>It is this sort of arrogant behavior which is unacceptable !<br/>Will never go back but then hey - they don't need our business <br/>

Best wine list in Pretoria and the most delicious skordalia in the world😋. Attentive, personalised service. Try the fried brinjals - yum! Just be sure to order extra skordalia...

This was a great way to end what has been an awesome week, the ambience was exactly what I wanted it be. The table a was set next to the fire place on a very cold spring night, kudos to the restaurant for a detailed, breathtaking romantic feel about the place. The service from our waiter was decent, I was expecting more but that was well compensated by the managers presence and the owner awareness of his restaurant's state of affairs (my baby got a complimentary shot for an incredibly pic that depicted the beauty of #prosopa). We had kefdetes, my favorite #spanakopita and Ruby had her favourite haloumi as starters which were very delicious. I had a rib eye steak as a main with great flavours, the spinach and the potatoes complimented the steak very well... <br/>The only criticism I have is that parts of the steak was a bit chewy for my liking<br/> But Prosopa is definitely bookmarked it was worth every penny spent. <br/>I'm definitely going back there again!!!
Shane Hegarty
The food and service was so outstanding that it caused expressions of selfishness as I didn't want to share, a lack of conversation cause I didn't want to waste time on talking and anger cause the restaurant doesn't open for early breakfast. All told, an outstanding experience indeed. Recommend to everyone or keep it a secret for you and your wife or husband, either way you gotta visit this gem.

There's no words! Favourite restaurant in PTA!! To try before you die is the Aubergine starter and their chips! WOW <br/>Also very nice outside area and ambiance!
Cheryl Von Solms
This restaurant never disappoints, not only in terms of great service and spectacular food, but also in terms of the ambience created by the sleek decor and the background music. They make the most amazing Chocolate-Chili Fillet, I can't order it anywhere else because it simply can't compare to Prosopa's. I have also attended some of their Wine Pairing evenings and those are also a treat!

Thank you Dino, always lovely to visit. Great wine, great food. Lovely for our anniversary date night. It seems you cant keep us away. Got to come to another wine evening some time.
Sandra Lehmann
I quite like this restaurant. It has a very cozy and modern fire place and the atmosphere is clean-white yet comfortable. The food is good and the service is good. The restaurant is also not too loud so even when you are in a big group you can still hear each other. There are also nice booths for a romantic dinner for couples ;)

Had our monthly girlsnight at Prosopa! What an experience! The food was divine! Dessert and wine selection was perfection! The vibe was exquisite! Need to visit them again!

Brilliant tasting food. Seafood was fresh as if eating at a seaside restaurant . Average service but was made up for by the Good vibe. Definitely worth it.

Worth a visit and a return visit! An authentic Greek restaurant in Pretoria with a romantic setting and excellent food. The various meze dishes are a must, particularly the fried brinjals. The owner, Dino, is a wonderful host and he will go out of his way to ensure that each customer has an enjoyable experience.

Had a fantastic time at Prosopa for a #zomatoxprosopa foodie meetup. The owner is a great guy, who gave us a tour of the food you'll find at prosopa. Let me just tell you, you have to try prosopa. It made me like eggplant. I usually hate eggplant.
Natasha Nortje
Had a Zomato Foodie Meetup at Prosopa and had the best time ever!! Food was excellently prepared and had a big variety in style and taste! The starters was the highlight on the night. Great wine selection and taste!!! The company and service was excellent!! Thank You Prosopa!!
Riette
Prosopa to me is one of the 'old classics' and they never fail to impress. We recently returned for a Foodie Meetup and Dino, the owner, presented us with a few incredible tasters. The fried brinjals are totally out of this world and I was left breathless with the salmon served on delicious, nutritious black rice. The wine selection is also excellent. Here's to another decade or 2.

I've been wanting to explore Greek cuisine for some time now, but just never managed to find the right place, and the right people to show me the way. All this changed when I went to Prosopa and met the owner, Dino. Prosopa has a relaxed yet incredibly stylish vibe and the decor is classy without making you feel like you've somehow overdressed for dinner. I got to taste a lot of starters and my favourites are the zucchini balls and the fried eggplant. For mains my favourite was the incredible grilled salmon on a bed of black rice. Baklava has always been a favourite of mine and it did not disappoint. Dining at Prosopa will feel like you're visiting a generous family member: wine and conversation will flow and the food will be good. Not the cheapest of restaurants, but this is clearly a case of "you get what you pay for": the dishes are incredible without being pretentious.

So I have been contemplating what to say about our foodie meet up. It is safe to say that this was THE BEST food I have had in my life. It is difficult to out into words the taste explosion that was the food Dino and his team prepared for us. <br/><br/>I started the night off with a array of tasters from the Starters menu. My favorite dish was the Lamb Ribs and the fried brinjals. The variety of sauces served with the various dishes was an excellent add on. <br/><br/>My favorite main dish had to be the lemon potatoes. Yes it may sound strange that out of everything tasted I would choose the potatoes but the were exquisite. <br/><br/>And having had the best food I have ever had the dessert was just as appetizing. <br/><br/>Dino is running an excellent establishment with staff that operates like a well oiled machine! If you looking for a good time or a place for a date, this is the place! Monieeek Thys Riette Lloyd Loots

What a great restaurant, we had a very enjoyable evening with friends. Prosopa's has a great atmosphere and setting. The food is amazing and I would recommend anyone to go and try them out. I suggest you have the rib eye steak en famous fries. <br/><br/>To Dino Fagas and the staff thank you for your excellent service and hospitality. We will be back

Lovely ambiance.Venue is simple yet elegant.Every dish I tried was mouth watering.I used to stereotype Greek food ad only being about lamb!I am officially covered. My favourite was the fried brinjals. Will definately be recommending Prosopa to friends and family.

Last night I had an idea of what to expect... and let me just tell you now that what I got to experience at Prosopa last night exceeded my expectations! <br/><br/>On arrival, the restaurant is beautifully lit up and from the moment that you walk through the doors you can feel your body start relaxing. <br/><br/>After being greeted and welcomed on arrival by owner Dino, we indulged in a glass of soft bubbly that was pleasing to my palate... (I absolutely just love bubbly and this bottle of L'Ormarins Brut Classique is a must try!)<br/><br/>In a true Greek style, starter Meze platters were placed all along the centre of the single long table seating 18 of us! And this gave you the perfect opportunity to indulge in a little bite of everything! Dolmades. Lamb Ribs. Fried Brinjals. Spanish Prawns and Pita Bread. And everything just burst with flavour when you put it in your mouth. Along with starters, a soft and elegant white wine blend from Rietvallei was perfectly paired with our food.<br/><br/>Feeling already full from just picking off starters we had a few moments to actually wait before the main meals were presented. This is one thing that I noticed about Prosopa. No one is on a rush. And not at one point in the evening did I feel rushed that we had to hurry up and leave. <br/><br/>A selection of main meals again were placed down to choose from.<br/>Norwegian Salmon with Black Rice. Ribeye Steak. Lamb Kleftiko. Every dish right there was full of flavour and beautifully presented along with sides of Butternut Purée, Creamed Spinach. Lemon Potatoes and Honey glazed Carrots. <br/><br/>The meal was again perfectly paired with a selection of bubbly and wines! (I totally checked out the wine list... Amazing! They probably have one of the biggest selections of the best wines available!)<br/><br/>Time for dessert soon came... My sweet tooth really enjoyed this! Greek Yoghurt with Pecan Nuts and Honey topped with a Strawberry! Baklava. And Galaktoboureko... Basically, milk tart in phyllo pastry! <br/>Oh! And to go with dessert a nice rich Muscadel went down perfectly!<br/><br/>I applaud Dino and his waiters for the stunning service and the amazing evening! This is one of those restaurants that I'm sure many people don't even know about. But I would suggest it to anyone for absolutely any occasion. The atmosphere and vibe is tranquil and you just feel at home! Prosopa, BEST FOODIE MEET UP EVER! The food was amazingg ! We got to taste 10 different types of starters , 3 main , and 3 deserts ! It was some of the best food I have ever had before ! Service was also great. I would definitely go back for another visit !

What I loved the most out of everything delicious I ate there, and I mean everything, was surprisingly enough the Fried Brinjal starter. Amazing. At some point I was like, am I really eating Brinjals? Yep, it was that tasty.<br/><br/>The main course consisted of a bit of beef, carrots, AND THE BACKED POTATOES that had us all almost calling our mothers just to say ‘hi’, sooo good. I also loved unwrapping the Lamb meal but tasting it was a delight. Lamb was the best meat of the entire evening, but then again they were all good.<br/><br/>We finished off the evening with dessert, Oh man, I’ve run out of words to use to explain the dessert, but let me try. The dessert was ambrosial, fit for gods to eat.

Last night at Prosopa was an absolute feast! I loved the atmosphere!<br/><br/>"More wine please" "oh no more food" "that was so delicious" those seemed to be the words flying around the table last night...<br/><br/>From the moment I walked into this beautiful dimly lot restaurant I knew I would have a great time. Right through the night platters of food just kept flowing to the table, and each meal deserved an award in it ls own right. As each platter arrived, everyone with a camera whipped it out to take pictures of these beautifully presented dishes before digging in. I must say I was thoroughly impressed with the service too, our glasses were always full and food was amazing. There were moments of silence at the table and that's when everyone was on social networks uploading and tweeting about the event. If not that they were all chewing away!<br/><br/>All in all it was a fantastic night and I will most definitely be back there again!

Last night we had dinner at Prosopa restaurant - Or dinner is an understatement…<br/>We had a FEAST! <br/><br/>We were welcomed with a glass of Brut Champagne and escorted to our seats,<br/>The atmosphere was elegant, beautiful and classy, the lights and all the accompaniments were beautifully selected to create the beautiful space that is Prosopa.<br/><br/>We all sat at a Long table which made it easier to talk to everyone, it made it feel like a real family style dinner.<br/><br/>Our menu selection the we were provided with was very interesting, traditional meals, given some amazing twists and all perfectly paired with the different wines.<br/><br/>The meals started with beautiful sharing salads that were placed on the table, after which all the starters started streaming out of the kitchen, we enjoyed the festiveness of everyone sharing with everyone, talking and eating, indulging it the the amazing eats in front of us.<br/><br/>We were all stuffed and was nervous for the main course, how will we ever have space for more?<br/>We had a just enough time between the starters and the mains to be able to have a little more - the mains were all served together - Salmon on Black rice, Rib-eye and Lamb all accompanied by heart warming, comforting veggies.<br/><br/>After the Mains we had some desserts - decadent and creamy - the Baklava was nice and crispy and the milk tart soft, fluffy and creamy, wonderfully accompanied with Greek yogurt.<br/>We ended the night with our wine and had some Cappachinos, Perfect.<br/><br/>It was an amazing experiance - lovely, beautiful, deliciously Pleasing! This authentic Greek European restaurant is more than just a 'dine'. It is an experience worth thriving over. Introduced with lovely signature starters paired with a subtle white wine blend, and slowly made acquaintance with the main dishes that all are equally all now a must. And without a doubt the desserts live up to all Greek cuisine standards with baklava and thick Greek yoghurt, to mention a few. The wine paring was on Par and complimented not only the food but the company as well. Recommended for a real authentic wine and dine experience.

Lovely restaurant with a great ambience for a romantic dinner. Had the lamb chops with lentils, and couldn't resist the homemade trio of gelato. The service from waitron as well as manager was superb. The wines are premium and select, and obviously for the connoisseur with a fat wallet. However the selection does contain a few good wines at affordable prices. Thus, something for everyone. The menu prices were quite ok, especially if being compared to that of Ritrovo around the corner.

Thank you for hosting us (Celebrity Tweets, @SAcelebTweets) at Prosopa Restaurant! This was most definitely our best fine dining experience with the most incredible food to excellent service! We'll definitely return for more in future. 10/10!

Great looking restaurant very classy with cozy touch. Perfect for that romantic date getaway! Ordered the fillet which was surprisingly chewy, to be fair the manager was quick to respond by offering me an alternative meal, very helpful! Food was very average for the image this restaurant puts out.

So after writing a review with my eye on the owner, it took exactly 2 minutes before i could see him reading what i have written about the food. <br/><br/>This to me personifies what we all are looking for in terms of restaurants. We as South Africans pride ourselves and excel in our social connections and personalizing our experiences. Dino from prosopa could be the ONLY owner i have ever met that is so diligent with regards to your experience and precision in what they produce.<br/><br/>I said earlier we are still waiting for our hub with regards to reminiscing and eating. I BELIEVE we have found it. Thank you for the way you handled our complaint and the effort you put in to make it an enjoyable night. We will support you for as long as we can muster a few bottles of wine and enjoy food and company. <br/><br/>Keep it up. Looking forward to the wine tasting evenings.

Loved it! Waiter was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Food was ridiculously good and well worth the price. Steak covered in lindt chocolate and chilli sauce was cooked to perfection and perfectly balanced! As well as the chocolate mousse pudding, heavenly! Evening very well spent! <br/>The above was my first review.<br/>My second time visiting Prosopa was not so pleasant... I called a month in advance to secure one of those nice tables in between the curtains and specified that explicitly in my booking call. It was a big occasion. When I arrived we were given a table by the door, nothing near what I specified. I requested to be moved to the table that I initially requested but they were reserved for other guests for the evening. I highly doubt they called a month in advance to book those seats on a casual Wednesday evening.<br/>Beyond that, I ordered the spaghetti marinara which had crushed up shell scattered throughout the meal. It was an extremely disappointing evening especially after my high expectations from the first visit.

What a gem. Beautiful decor, simple, neat and warm. We are from Joburg and happened to be in Pretoria, looked them up on Zomato and I'm not sorry. The pita bread with feta - delicious. The Spanish prawn starter - honestly is a dish that every time I think of it my mouth waters, the sauce is unbelievable. For dessert my hubby had the baklava and he was blown away - absolutely PERFECT. Dino is a lovely host! We will definitely be back?

We were recommended Proposa by friends when looking for a good Greek restaurant in Pretoria.<br/><br/>All the food was well-prepared and brought to our table timeously.  We couldn't fault the service from our waiter or the manager Duncan, who is very knowledgeable about their wines and what to pair it with (they also have monthly wine pairing evenings).<br/><br/>They do not only cater for the Greek experience, but Mediterranean as well, so you have a wide range of choices from the menu, or if their is something specific, ask the staff and they might be able to help.<br/><br/>We had to change our reservation from the Saturday evening to Sunday lunch, due to conflicting appointments, but still managed to get a booth (would recommend this).  They weren't too busy when we did go on the Sunday, but ambiance was still great, and would like to pay them a visit in the evening to compare.<br/><br/>There was actually nothing to complain about our experience, and they deserve the highest rating possible, but I always say there is room for improvement somewhere, hence my rating of 4.0.

Truly delicious food, best aubergine you will ever have and the Trinchado tasted like more!! On the higher price end, worth it! Nicely tucked away and not mainstream. A very special place!
Johan Nel
Service was absolutely great. Our waiter (although with his astute attention I feel it almost an insult to call him a waiter) was excellent. Unobtrusive, but always there when you need him. We shared the meze platter as a starter. By far the best quality we've had in many a year. So good in fact that my wife created her own platter as a main course. I had the Scottish salmon. Skin crispy, seared meat on deliscious mash. But, the salmon was a bit insipid and soggy. The mash, although tasty, was lumpy - you know, like granny's - and the accompanying veggies wholly uninspired. The saving grace was a truly inspired baklava cheesecake. Never had it, nor ever thought it would work. Accompanied by bitter Greek coffee, simply delicious. Service and dessert raised a potential 3 to a 4.5.<br/>

An old family favourite! With just us two, with the extended family, with friends, on Mothersday, Fathersday and just sommer because! Prosopa delivers dependable tasty food.<br/>Saturday dinner we had there, just the husband and me. We booked late and were sorry, for all the cosy booths were occupied.<br/>A large, lively group had a party in one section that had been curtained off with light, soft drapes. It did not disturb, rather contributed to the happy atmosphere. <br/>I had the deeply savoury prawn bisque, fabulous for a cool evening. Izak had the prawn and avo salad - crisp and fresh with plump and juicy prawns. <br/>His main dish, lamb chops with mustard mash, was delicious. Their signature dish, Kleftiko, dissapointed. The sauce had been overly reduced. Thus it was too strong and salty for my taste.<br/>It was accompanied by excellent potato croquettes.<br/>I enjoy eating at Prosopa, but do think they can improve on the accompaning vegetables. It is always a mix, cooked al dente and a bit boring.<br/>Deserts were enjoyable, especially the home made ice cream by Duncan, the manager - the orange ginger ice cream was superb!

Prosopa is a style full restaurant nestled in Waterkloof Heights. We went on a Tuesday night, and even though it's in the middle of the week, it was still exceptionally quite. We shared the restaurant with only 2 other tables. <br/><br/>The service was slow and the waiters weren't particularly friendly. The food, however, was amazing. We had the kleftiko and prawn curry dishes, which were both very tasty. We had baklava for desert which complimented the rest of the meal nicely. The wines on the wine list were very expensive, so we decided to give it a skip. <br/><br/>Overall it was a nice experience. The atmosphere was slightly lacking but the food more than made up for this.

We ate here for my grannys bday. <br/>Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere .<br/>We were 9 people and still the they got all the drink and food orders spot on and we didnt even wait long for our food. Food was also cooked to perfection.<br/>I can highly recommend Prosopa Restaurant.

Very welcoming set-up! Cosy booths and tables surrounding a large fireplace in the centre of the restaurant. Staff were friendly and the food was good. If you are a fan of Greek cuisine, this restaurant is a must visit!

Very cosy setting, especially in booths! Food and service are great!

The restaurant is very appealing to the eye and there are cosy booths available. The food is not bad in anyway, yet I felt that the value for what they charge was just not there. The service can be a little delayed, but if you are enjoying some good wine from their list you may not realise it.
