What a lovely ambiance for a Saturday morning breakfast. The setting was calm and inviting and our waiter Macdonald Gabe is excellent service. The food and drinks were just what we had in mind. Will see us again real soon
Was early for a business meeting and found this spot open. A bit tucked away in the corner of a center - but a good find.
Coffee good, hot and strong. Waiter very efficient and friendly - and enjoyed the menu option to make up your own omelette. Nicely presented, and very tasty.
We ordered platters for a Board meeting. The Principal's response was "The sweet snacks are delicious as well as the wraps." Thank you Cafe 41 for excellent service and food.
I’ve experienced a lovely afternoon (and night) here out with friends. It’s such a lovely, romantic spot.
Food: On the two occasions that I’ve been here, we’ve been served amazingly yum-some pasta dishes. They also have a wide variety of drinks to choose from.
Ambiance: They have a cozy couch corner that I love on the inside; vibey sounds in the background. The open courtyard is also a great spot to chill (bistro/café vibes).
Service: The waiters are friendly and attentive.
Today I had the roast lamb Schwarma. It was fantastic, the lamb was plentiful, soft and delicious and the Tzatziki was fresh and delightful. Even the potato fries were crisp and scrumptious. I loved it and would definitely return for another. The service was also fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
This was a fantastic Spur of the moment find off Zomato! I had the onion and cashew nut quiche which was Devine. The haloumi starter that my husband ordered was really tasty. The sweet chili sauce was at least not out of a bottle! What a lovely atmosphere. Loos were a bit disconcerting. They are right next to each other and a man came out of the woman's Loos! I suppose this is the 21st century so I must "get with it".
You know what....try it, it's lekker
I had a great experience here and will definitely be back. We had pasta dishes... Trinchado and one with spinach. Their potions are generous and very filling.the prices are reasonable. The ambience is also great, Tucked away in a corner at the Eastwood Village

Great menu options with lovely platters, option sandwitches and breakfast available. Great tea options available. Lovely teapots and food presentation. Always friendly service. Sometimes the music options tend to drive you insane.
Lovely vibe in the back outside area. Nice menu and not badly priced. Lots to offer on the menu, delicious baked goods and has a nice decor!
Always love coming here when I'm in the capital. The courtyard at the back is quiet and he perfect escape for a private lunch or business meeting. Have been enjoying their sandwiches for years - make your own from a huge selection of toppings. The coffee is quite good too!
I have been to Café41 several times over the passed few year and have loved the food and vibe. If you like cocktails or wine, they also have a great variety of that. The menu is great and the staff well trained. My favourite...the fillet with croquets...yum yum. Definitely worth a visit.
Based on the brim of Arcadia and Hatfield, this spot is ideal for client meetings and the quick sundowner. They offer outside seating that is great in warmer weather and adequate heating on their 'stoep'. Their menus offer a good variety and are priced a bit higher than one would expect. THAT SAID.... Their food is freshly prepared and tastes amazing. Their service is a bit slow but visiting this establishment has never failed me. Try their continental platter as it's a great accompaniment to your vino or cocktail.
An always happy spot for me! No lie, this is my favorite cafe 41. Whether it's brekkie or just a drink, this is the place to go. Waiters are always pleasant and most certainly go the extra mile. Today I just stopped for a drink, and guess what, their lemonade is one of the best I've tasted in Pretoria. The pizza breakfast and pasta is something worth trying. Very generous servings and full of flavour. The imported ice tea and gourmet drinks are always great to have. If you looking for a place to have a glass of wine with a friend, go here.
Whereas Cafe 41 in Groenkloof is on a busy streetfront, this branch in Hatfield is tucked away in a quiet corner in the leafy Eastwood street. The same delicious Mediteranean fare. Lively jazzy music spilling out as one enters.
Outside in the dappled sunlight next to the Koi pond - perfect for breakfast.
The Salmon Stack was delicious. A home made Salmon cake, grilled crisply on the outside, juicy inside, covered with shredded cooked spinach and hollandaise sauce, topped with a medium poached egg. I could detect dill - one of my favourite herbs.
A lovely combination of flavour & texture.
Service friendly.
I was disappointed when I order the Veggie Burger (still on the menu) and the waiter came back and told me they dont make it anymore. The omelette my boyfriend was nice and he enjoyed it. Staff is friendly but not to attentive.
I wont come back anytime soon.
Being close to my home, this is a very pleasant place to meet with friends or just relax away from home. Good service, wonderful vibe outside and the best Chicken Trinchado in Pretoria! Order as a starter and slurrrrp it up with bread.... see you there!
Loved the atmosphere and decor of the place, not your normal Greek restaurant. They have a very extensive menu and good wine list. My family and I came for an early lunch and really enjoyed it here. I had a really delicious roast lamb Schwarma, the tzatziki was really outstanding. It is served deconstructed with the salad, tahini and tzatziki served separately. My brother had the chicken shwarma and hubby the bifteki. The bun of the burger was a bit dry otherwise he liked it. The chips they served with it was really well spiced and cooked. For drinks we had ice coffee, chocolate milkshakes and loose leaf teas. I had a lemongrass, ginger and mint tea that was really lovely. Service was fast friendly and efficient, would definitely return to try out more items from the menu
This place is so serene and earthy. I had a quite lunch here on a busy warm Saturday. The tzatziki was SOOOOOOOO yummy, they really make this well and its rare that I find restaurants that do! I am really pleased with the service delivery at this restaurant and would def go back if I am in PTA again!
Cafe 41 is always great, it's one of those places with a variety of food to indulge on same with the drinks except they don't have Long Island ice tea and cosmopolitan cocktails (we kinda wanted that).
The waiter was a bit odd, miscommunication vibes but we still got what we wanted. Give it a shot, you'll like it.
Nice summer vibes taking place at Cafe 41. Place to visit this sumer for a cocktail or 5. Designed with excellence and flair, giving of the relaxing no rush vibe....
Within the old suburb of Eastwood just off of Church street this Cafe 41 has the best example of a successful courtyard. Designed with flair and an understanding of scale one can escape the hustle of the city or just the afternoon traffic into this are.
I've been here multiple times and the service has always been on point. The food is what can be expected and the only thing that stood out was the creamy spinach and feta pasta.
Even though I find them expensive in terms of the culinary experience I will always return to enjoy the beautiful courtyard.
Let me know what you think about this space.
This has been an age long favorite of mine since my student days. There are a number of branches, but this has always been my favorite. I was in pretoria recently again and thought I'd pop into this place again. Nothing has changed, it looks basically the same, which in one way is probably good, but improvement and staying up to date is also good. I had the trinchado which i used to love, and it didn't taste as good as I remember. Maybe I'm just a sentimental old fool with memories enhanced by the passage of time. Its still lovely place and certainly worth a visit if in the area.

This particular cafe is one of my old favourites when I lived in Pretoria. It was very quiet when I visited it on the Saturday - not the buzzy vibe of days gone by. Yet the waiter told me that it is still a firm favourite during the week. Those leafy Moroccan-style courtyards still do it for me. Good memories.
The ambiance is awesome. The courtyard makes for a almost private feeling
Love the tea pots and good food is always appreciated with great company
"A lot of veggie options... Definitely veggie friendly."
The cafe has an elegance about it, right from the moment you walk up the stairs and in through the doors.
The atmosphere is very peaceful. A nice place to have a meeting over a light meal or a catch up with a friend over a coffee and cake.
The outside areas (non-smoking or smoking) both have a water feature, that has a really calming effect. Definitely slowing the pace down.
The tables are spread out very nicely allowing for more that enough personal space between parties.
The menu is cleverly set up and easy to read through and comprehend.
I went during the lunch hour. It maintains the chilled pace, with no one is rushing around.
A lot a veggie options for us vegetarians to enjoy. So definitely veggie friendly.
I had the onion and cashew quiche.
Absolutely delicious. The potato salad and the beetroot complement the dish perfectly. However the side salad that fills the plate was bruised and dry, it seems old.
If you have this dish I'd recommend asking for more potato salad or beetroot instead of the boring dry accompanying salad.
The experience is really wonderful with delicious food and a friendly staff.
Definitely a place to return to. Easily a place for locals to become regulars.
Good quality and quantity food, professional waiters and a chilled environment.. been comming here for 5 years and standards are still high.
Love coming here for lunch as it's close to my work. I love their signature dish chicken or beef trinchado. I font like how they their latte, mixing it yourself Nooooo. love their cocktail at a very reasonable prices...
A very chilled relaxed atmosphere. This cafe almost has that old Havana feel. Good portions of food, with good service. Great for summer afternoons.
