Tastefully decorated with nice ambience. Great views of the green lush Woodhill golf course from balcony. Food was ok for me for the 2 occassions I've tried the restiatant. I recommend for afternoon sundowners in the balcony.

I’ve been meaning to come to this lovely restaurant because of their simple yet elegant decor, I love how it draws you in from the moment you walk in. It lived up to my expectations the food was absolutely amazing sharing a platter for two with a side of mash potatoes, creamed spinach and fries, there was nothing I could fault the meat was just so succulent, the meat falling of the bone so easily. Service was friendly and quick it could have been because it was a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was relatively quite. With the manager coming to check if everything is well. Lovely dining experience.

Been here a few times and I must say it has always been consistent. The food is great, service is good and the decor is amazing. A little on the pricey side but for what you get, definitely worth it. As up market as they are, they have a great kiddies menu too. Nice place to take the family.

I stopped in here recently for a lunch break whilst shopping, and Heat Grill Room is definitely one of the more upmarket restaurants in Woodlands Boulevard but we had a mixed experience with our meals.
Heat Grill Room, established in 2005, has beautiful taupe interiors and as per the name, focus' its effort on all things steaks. The outdoor terrace and upstairs sections are known for their lovely views and as such, are popular with all the local diners.
Judging by the look of the restaurant, I expected the prices to be on the higher side, but was pleasantly suprised to find that hey have a very affordable lunch special every day comprised of dishes at only R79 each. Think peri peri half chicken, 200g sirloin, chicken curry, hake, calamari, Trinchado, chicken schnitzel..
To eat, we ordered:
Trinchado: Tender Beef Cubes In A Spicy Continental Garlic & Chilli Sauce.
Chicken and avocado wrap: Grilled Chicken Breast, Avo, Rocket, Cherry Tomatoes and a Honey Mustard Mayo.
200g Sirloin and Calamari combo.
The Trinchado was full of fat and I had to keep spitting out the fatty pieces of meat so I very quickly decided to just leave the dish and move on.. Onto the sirloin, which was cooked medium-rare and to perfection. Delicious.
Presentation of the dishes isn't spectacular, but the meals (apart from the Trinchado) were tasty and I felt that the value-for-money at R79 a meal is good.
I do however feel that Heat Grill Room need to be careful not to compromise on the quality of the meals with these daily specials. As in the case of the Trinchado, if I had judged them on just that meal, this review would be quite different.
Service was good. The food arrived quickly and so did our drinks.
*Recommendation: For a more upmarket feel on your next visit to Woodlands Boulevard, I would recommend one of Heat Grill Room's steaks and opting to sit upstairs or on the outdoor terrace.

Quite a fancy place this... In fact probably wouldn't feel comfortable going here with a Jean and tekkies :) Went here for a business lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find a lunch specials menu which was very affordable (dare I say cheap). I had a great steak and good service too.
Went to Heat Grill Room for a family dinner one Wednesday eve. Booked a table upstairs for the view... quite gorgeous. The decor... classic, classy and beautiful. Ambiance... just lovely, romantic and relaxing, the restaurant is large yet cozy. The staff... warm, welcoming, friendly, efficient and insightful, a delight. The Menu... a beautiful and extensive wine list with wonderful, exciting and inventive dishes, wish a few classics. I ordered the Peppercorn Chicken Breast with mash and it was delicious and truly tasty. A bit too peppery after a while. The prices aren't bad for the portions and quality that you get ... so real value for money and very impressive. Ended with Italian Kisses and cappuccinos, hhmmm perfect ending to a perfect 👌🏻 dining experience! Recommend!

This was a lovely restaurant for a anniversary dinner. We were surprised with something special. The steaks we chose were soft and done to perfection.
Saturday lunching with the parents. We were welcomed by the host and lead to our table upstairs. It was not a busy day but the balcony area was booked for a private function a bit later on so it was off limits, which was a bummer because the views of the estate is so gorgeous.
Skipped the starter and went for main. I ordered a Chicken Curry with basmati rice. It was enjoyable but it needed heat. Found a few litchies in the curry which was quite a surprise.
For dessert I had the Mango & Granadilla Meringue Parfait. Super sweet but the meringue and ice cream balanced it out.
Service from our waiter Stanford was excellent. It is quite unfortunate that the place has deteriorated from when I was last here a few years back.
Excellent food and they dont scimp on the quantity. My daughter had a hake and chips off the kiddies menu. It was twice the size of the hake at other places. Really good value for money, and the food is consistently excellent.
I totally fell in love with this place. The waiter were helpful in choosing the menu and didn't hover us the entire time whilst eating. The food was incredible and well presented. This is one of my highly recommended places

We popped in for an unplanned Saturday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Classic and stylish restaurant, with an extensive wine list and great service. I had the Moroccan Salad - very tasty and a generous portion. A very enjoyable experience!
It's always a good time at Heat! It's a pretty venue...with tasty food. And the lunch specials are a winner. A must visit when in Woodlands.
My brother and I took my mom to Heat for her birthday dinner. The service was excellent. Our waiter was was wonderful and helped us surprise her with a special dessert for her special day. The food was delicious. My rump was perfectly cooked and we were all impressed with the presentation of my brother's shrimp and avocado salad. My mom had the salmon special which she thoroughly enjoyed. I was really happy that they had Italian Kisses as not many restaurants have them these days.
Nice setting, great ambience, good food, generous portions,excellent service...our waitress was well informed, efficient and cheerful. The service really was the cherry on the cake! The food was good, I had the vegetarian curry. My only complaint is that they could add more non salad vegetarian options to the menu.
Very beautiful place. I first thought of Signature and I was expecting the same pricing but it cheaper, they dish and everything is perfect. Plus they have a beautiful spot to watch soccer games.
We had a Nice dinner at Heat grill room. As appetizer we chose the springbok carpaccio and the avocado with shrimps. The shrimps were a bit tasteless, like they came out of the freezer. The maincourse (pepper crustet fillet and the champagne sole) was very good.

Brilliant place. Amazing food. I had cheese and garlic snails as a starter, it was to die for.. then I had an ostrich fillet with marrow bones sauce on top, baked potato and veggies. It was succulent. I definitely recommend this place.

Over the weekend, my mom and I decided we would go to heat (for like the 30th time) for burgers and wine.
This choice was the best for the day. I enjoyed a generous glass of sweet red wine that topped my week off perfectly.
We both ordered burgers. I had the cheddar melt burger, with a beef patty, while my mom had a chicken cheese burger.
We loved them so much. The meat was well-cooked and the cheese was lovely. The BBQ sauce was lovely (even though I'm not usually a fan). The chicken burger was made with chicken breasts rather than crumbed which my mom prefers.
A Saturday afternoon/ evening where burgers are on the mind, I highly recommend Heat.

Always a treat and vibrant atmosphere. Had the fillet on the bone (maybe the meat to bone ratio could've been a bit bigger...) and the creme brulee (was a little bit too soft). I've had some superb steaks here in the past.

Heat Grill Room was a bit of a surprise to us. Although it came highly recommend by friends, we did not know if there would be much for us to eat but the menu on Zomato was interesting enough to give it a try.
We decided to skip the starter as we opted to rather try the dessert. The vegetarian platter had more than enough variety and all the components were extremely tasty. The baked potato was absolutely perfect.
They are also one of the few restaurants that offers a cherry flambé for dessert. It was totally devine!
On top of all of this, the service was exceptionally good. 😄😄
This venue is one to bookmark and visit. We can definitely recommend this venue and will return.

Heat Grill Room might be a tad pricey, but we always go back for celebratory dinners, as the atmosphere and the food is hard to beat. Their starters are also amazing, which means you'll definitely be staying a bit longer. Wonderful spot. We especially love coming here during winter for a cosy dinner.
Celebrated my birthday at one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, currently on my top 5 list. Steak was cooked to perfection and the starter with cranberry sauce was the best I ever tasted. Just didn't like the onion rings much. Cannot wait to go back again!
Very good restaurant. ..the steak here is a must ,The house wine red .....very nice it's not the usual bayerskloof wine .I have had steak and fish here and both were perfect. Service is good .You will not be disappointed.
A classy, romantic restaurant perfect for a date night!
This is a large restaurant and it takes a lot to get full which it rarely is, in my experience, thus the ambiance can feel stark and empty. The lighting is also dark and the restaurant lacks warmth in general.
The menu is vast with a lot of gourmet offerings that is guaranteed to have something for everyone. It is actually outstanding for them to be able to maintain such a large menu.
The wine list is adequate with sufficient per-glass offerings and the pricing is competitive.
A great date night location for a quiet, romantic evening with good food!
Great atmosphere. Great drink selection and the Marrow bone sauce on a steak is amazing! Also one of the few places where you can get a stunning Beef Cordon Bleu.

Frozen Cucumber Daquiri - an unusual and refreshing drink.
My Ribeye Steak was unfortunately too sinewy and the balance of flavour in our accompaning sauces - Oregano and Butter & Rossini - was not right. For instance the Oregano Butter sauce was thin and too sour. The Rossini (Chicken Liver and Port) was too sweet. Accompaning vegetables (butternut and spinach) were exceptional. Fresh and tasty.
Tried Heat again after giving it a miss for a few years. I don't know why because the food is good and we definitely got value for money. The waiters are friendly and on the ball and we did not wait for our food for long at all.
Hands down one of my favourite restaurants in the area. The food is fantastic, always. I have never had a poorly prepared dish at Heat. The service is also top-notch. My favourite spot is on the balcony on a warm summer day sipping away on whatever I decide to drink and having a good meal. Their portions are also extremely generous. Decor wise, wow!

I have been to heat multiple times before and have always had a lovely time dining here. Today a friend and I stopped by for lunch. We started with cocktails. I had a frozen cucumber and basil daiquiri which was so refreshing and delicious. I had the bacon and blue cheese salad which I really enjoyed, although there was hardly any bacon in the salad. The blue cheese and pecans were plenty though which I really liked. My friend had the haloumi salad which was lovely too. The haloumi was generous and still soft - not cold and rubbery. Unfortunately we did not receive any bread rolls and butter while we waited for our food. We had to ask for these which arrived half way through our lunch. We also asked for some iced water which came in a glass bottle for us to help ourselves too. Only annoying thing was that we were given the tiniest little glasses to drink the water out of which was not very convenient on this hot day, being as thirsty as we were. Overall we had a lovely lunch and Heat really is an elegant and classy looking restaurant.

Oh what an experience! I've only been to Heat once and need to visit soon. The moment you enter the restaurant it screams sophistication, the decor is inviting and the food divine!
I went to heat when they first opened , so it had been way over due to try again!

We waiter was friendly and efficient. We had our bread and starters.the carpaccio was very tasty and well balanced.
For mains.I had the duck which was cooked perfectly with a great flavour.the mash was a little watery and bland but we could over look it. My friends meals were very well presented too and I believe tasty

This is a very nice restaurant with beautiful decor. The cocktails are very tasty and well presented. I had a passionfruit and mango & pineapple mojito. Both of them were very nice and tasted amazing. Me and my boyfriend ordered steaks. He ordered the blue cheese steak with mash and butternut. The blue cheese sauce was so delicious. If you like blue cheese, I would definitely recommend this. I had the cranberry and brie steak with mash and creamed spinach. The sauce and cheese was very tasty and the combination was perfect. Both the steaks were cooked to perfection. The vegetables were delicious and complimented the dish. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I love this place! The ambience is dazzling! If you sit inside, the decor has you enchanted and if you sit outside the view is so pretty at night! The waiters are really good and glasses are kept full! Their steaks are amazing, with great sauce choices! The wine menu offers great variety. The curries are good, but definitely not their speciality. Theres even an in-reataurant bar, and lounge type setups where you can just kickback and relax. A great experience every time!

We were welcomed very friendly t the door already by 2 hosts. Since we had a booking we got escorted upstairs to our booth. The restaurant looks stunning with an amazing walk in wine storage and all together a great ambience for a romantic dinner or other special occasion. Service is up to speed , very polite
And always checking on us. The variety of menu items is quite big but not in way it can confuse you and the prices are absolutely fair . For starters we decided on the classic beef carpaccio for R66 . It looked appetizing and so it tasted aswell. My friends were all happy with their mains like the duck and the lamb shank. I decided on a beef cordon bleu for R98 but unfortunately it didn't win. Way too much cheese, the ham wasn't to be found, the beef was tough and all of that was just drowned in a mushroom sauce that had a dark skin on top already. The fries were very oily aswell. But all together I believe the quality of the other dishes is great and I will defently be back when in Pretoria.
What a beautiful setting! The moment you enter, the ambience of the restaurant captured the attention. The service is class 👌 when we arrived it was kind of nippy outside and since we're smokers we sat in the smoking section which wasn't at all unpleasant since we were provided with blankets. The wine list is amazing and one of the most extensive I've come across. I think it's quite reasonably priced and the garlic cheese snails took the night. Excellent for a first date.
If you looking for a lovely place for sundowners make sure to sit upstairs and try the vanilla and apple daiquiri ... Amazing
I went to Heat Grill Room a few months ago, to explore and try a new restaurant.
I feel I couldn't have made a better choice. The service was the best I have ever received. The waiter attended to our every need, had great knowledge of the menu and wine list, his recommendations was great and he knew when it was appropriate to bother and when not to and on top of everything was one of the friendliest, if not the friendliest waiter I have ever met.
The food was just just as great. Very tasty, great value for money and the Menu has a good variety.
Possibly one of my favourite restaurants, never a dissapointment! Burgers are fantastic! I had a burger with creamy mushroom sauce, patty moist and juicy! We also had the prawn curry which was excellent!!

The whole setting of the restaurant is elegant, urban and just chilled. The waiters are very good at what they do and they offer you a glass of filtered water and a complementary starter as you look at what you're going to have
The food is absolutely delicious, well prepared and they don't even take long. The view is so beautiful you can't help but gasp
My fiancé and i went there for our anniversary and had by far THE best dinning experience.
Our reserved table was beautifully situated, cozy and warm on the deck where it so easily could have been cold.
Our waiter (whose name slipped me now) was amazing, he was kind, his service was great, always close by but allowed us our privacy to enjoy our night.
I ordered the 300g rump, it was perfectly medium-rare, with a sherry, cherry and parmesan topping. It was amazing! It was soft, tasty and perfectly cooked.
The wine we ordered with our food was even reasonably priced, which is not often the case in upper class dinning.
And at the end of the night we were surprised at the level of affordability of our bill!
What more could you want! Great service. Great food and a great bill! A must-go-to !

What a beautiful restaurant! The decor is modern and clean and the view is stunning, not like the parking lots we have to, too often, look out on in Joburg. The best part is that the food holds up to the decor. We had the tempura biltong for starters which was something different and very satisfying. The rib-eye rump with BBQ basting melted in my mouth and was accompanied by yummy mash and a mushroom, shrimp and asparagus sauce. The waiter was friendly but not very knowledgeable on the food. All and all a wonderful meal though, will definitely be back.

We had an amazing Valentines Dinner at Heat last night. The service, vibe and food was absolutely awesome. The Lemon & Parsley Chicken is most definitely on my "favourites" list from now on!
Second time coming here. Yet once again the food was above average. I ordered a Sirloin steak with Bone marrow on top. Whilst I was slightly disappointed with the lack of flavour on the bone marrow, the cut of steak was flavourful and the starch and vegetable accompaniments were great! Definitely a keeper of a restaurant!

Wow! What a great dining experience!
We didn't make reservations and so our night started off in the lounge area waiting for a table. This was fine with us as the lounge area had nice window views and quick service - we ordered wine and were promptly served. Within 10 minutes, we were escorted to a table and shortly thereafter ordered our food.
We skipped on a starter and went straight to the main dishes. It was a hard choice but I eventually decided on a hake with mash, my boyfriend had a beef cordon bleu. The bread rolls served before dinner were nice and crispy, accompanied by a sheba spread. The main dishes were tasty and the portions were big, the food was served warm and the atmosphere and soft background music were great. All in all a great experience - I don't know what more one can expect from a meal. The flavors were great and the plates were nicely arranged. Main dishes come with a choice of mash, rice, chips or baked potato, and side of spinach and butternut.
Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but we'll definitely be back to try some! Definitely worth a visit! I recommend making a reservation!

It is rare that I am ever surprised by a restaurant. Generally when I see the word grill a negative connotation of pub grub and rowdy people springs to mind.
Heat was however a circus of delight.
Armed with the good praise about the restaurant by my significant other, I strolled into Heat and was met with fire. Not in the bad way, in that warm fuzzy feeling of excitement and surprise. The restaurant was pleasingly arranged and decorated with a warm romantic atmosphere.
The table I had reserved was exactly what we asked for, this may not sound like much, however I have reserved tables before to meet a certain description only to be placed at an unsatisfactory table, an annoyance when one goes through the trouble to call in to book a table,
Upon opening the menu I soon realised that I was going to be at war with myself over what to order. My eyes rand from lamb shank, to calamari, to oxtail, to duck, to fillet. The variety as well as the amount of delicious food was overwhelmingly joyful.
I eventually decided to start on the Falkland island calamari, a favourite of mine. I have sampled many calamari at various restaurants and have been met with a general quality to expect. What arrived to me on a plate in a very timely manner was excellence in food form. I have and will never taste better calamari than Heat's. Instead of the general garlic butter sauce which has been overdone by many a restaurant, the calamari was flanked by an incredible sauce that enhanced the flavour above all else.
Next up was a personnel favourite: a lamb shank. I found it incredibly difficult to eat. This being purely due to he fact that the lamb was so tender it kept falling off my fork. The flavour was intense and homely, and the mint sauce accompanying the shank (something's usually overlooked) was perfection.
With barely any room left in my stomach I decided to push forward and give them one last test on an old classic; creme brûlée. Not only was the portion that I was given double that of any brûlée I have experienced but the flavour was thrice fold. Creamy and delicate.
Heat has since, met me times after with the same excellent service and perfect delicious food. It had romanced me beyond all others. Heat has something many restaurants lack: consistency, atmosphere and passion.
Very stylish. Beautiful decor. Fantastic service but be mindful of being a little overly intrusive and familiar. Best prawns in a long time. Juicy, fresh and such divine lemon butter sauce. Creme Brulee, although beautiful on top, was a little dense.

The Heat Grill Room has a elegant ambience, the layout doesn't feel too crowded. We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. The service staff were professional and attentive. The chess garlic bread had a cheesy taste and could use a bit more of a garlic taste, The wagyu Burger had a soft butter taste and the Peri-Peri Chicken was perfectly spiced, juicy and tender. Looking forward to sampling the other menu items available.

I went there for a business lunch without knowing anything about the place. The food is really good. Very good product and super tasty. You can appreciate the quality by the time the plate arrives to the table.
The service was very kind and charming, and Also fast. The place is very well decorated and very clean. They’ve got nice views feo the balcony on the upper floor.
Our children treated us, as it was our wedding anneversary,my husband is in a wheelchair, and we are both 82years old. The food was exceptionally well prepared, punctial, and the service was excellent. We recommend it.
Heat offer good options for lunch and supper. They have recently upgraded their decor which looks great. Good indoor, outdoor, upstairs and smoking room options. Upstairs offers some good round table options for bigger groups. We’ve eaten here many times, and recently gave their burgers a try again - they’re still amazing. We had the jalapeño burger with salad (yup, we’re monitoring our calories 😜). The view from the upstairs section is a typical representation of South Africa - super rich on the one side and informal homes on the other, and a graveyard in the distance - really sobering. The restaurant and mall feels very safe - don’t let my reference to the view deter you, the sunsets are still amazing! Thanks for great consistency Heat Grill Room 👌
Excellent service and food. Relaxed semi-casual atmosphere. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food. Portions are more than enough. Go hungry and thirsty!
