We decided to try Moroccan food in Pretoria today at La Terreasse Rooftop Cafe & Deli.So flavourful, fall off the bone lamb.Lamb, honey and date tagine with fluffy couscous. Lamb tomato and saffron wrap with a side salad. pomegrante, apple, pear and sparkling water. Traditional mint tea , coconut biscuit and kahlua, frangelico soaked date crepe with kumquats and fresh cream. Lovely tranquil space, rose petals scattered on tables and stairs, courtyard with a bubbling fountain. A adult retreat. Moroccan items for sale as well. Deli goods like preserved lemon, rose water and turkish delight. Owner and staff friendly and welcoming a really lovely experience. I wanted to steal my hubbys lamb tagine, I had serious food envy. The couscous was perfect grains separate and fluffy the grains soaked up the lamb juices and spices... Perfect. The guy at the next table was raving about the oxtail. We will be back, so much more to try.

Definitely my favourite place...thanks to Joehan Erasmus and the friendly staff. So typically Moroccan...a floral paradise!
Absolutely fabulous! One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the city. The food is like a firework show in my mouth. I especially like the date and honey tagine. Johan the owner is wonderfully charismatic plus he makes the most delicious spicy creams brûlée I’ve ever had. I love this restaurant! It’s not just a restaurant but a Moroccan cultural experience.
Fantastic atmosphere and incredibly friendly service, the food was fantastic, only open from 9 to 5 though but well worth the experience. Book in advance
Lovely atmosphere and decor. The service is good and staff are always friendly. Tasty, flavourful ,aromatic and delicious food, which never disappoints. The food is also very reasonably priced. Would most definitely recommend paying a visit to this one of a kind Cafe.
The ambience is just amazing! 😍 The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful... Food is nice and I love the way they served it! The decoration,... Everything just making me feel I'm in Morocco already... Can't wait to go there again!
I've been here twice and enjoyed it so much i can't wait to go back. The food is true Moroccan and the vibe amazing. Would recommend getting in touch when it's Valentine's time in February, they have an special evening that is Amazing!
A slice of Morocco in Pretoria, from the decor to the food everything is just so pretty with the colors. Service is friendly and very warm. The whole Moroccan decor and food just makes you feel like you are in a whole New World. A definite must try the only downer is that it closes at 5 otherwise it’s quite the experience.
What a beautiful ambience in the heart of Pretoria! Literally a hidden gem! We visited Moroccan house’s rooftop cafe for lunch and for an hour or two it almost felt like I was indeed in another country! The decor is fabulous and beautiful, with the café literally being the crown jewel. The mosaic decorated tables are beautifully set with the most exotic flowers and the waiting staff deserve a special mention! They are very welcoming and happy to recommend their favourites on the menu! The Moroccan juice is very refreshing on a hot day. I had the oxtail main course and my friend had the lamb kofta, which was stunningly presented in true Moroccan style! The flavours and spices are amazing and my oxtail was falling off the bone! I was very impressed that we didn’t even have to wait long for these superbly cooked meals! We also shared their rose water cheesecake - although the flavours were beautiful, I prefer a baked cheesecake to the fridge one. A lovely experience and La Terrase will definitely be seeing me on a regular basis!
An incredible place which I highly recommend.
Very vibrantly decorated in true Moroccan style - you won’t be disappointed. There are about 4 different levels including a rooftop area with a Delhi. Indoor and outdoor seating. I believe there is also a function venue so if you feel like you over partied you can book into their guest house.
Complimentary olives with your drinks. I just ordered a starter platter which was really good and my husband ordered a Couscous Lamb dish which he enjoyed.
Only downer for me was there was just 1 or 2 cocktails and the restaurant closes at 5
Good Service
I have been wanting to try out La Terrasse Rooftop Cafe for some time now. I am inlove with this place! It really feels as if you are in Morocco with the vibrant decor and music. I only had some treats and an amazing Chai Coffee, but I will definately visit again to try a main.
The food is infused with flavor and made to perfection. The service is great, with welcoming waiters who are enthusiastic and passionate about the food and the Moroccan traditions! Definitely a must for everyone to visit !!
