Review Culture Club - Bar De Tapas - Pretoria

Ashly Strydom
A very viby spot to hang out with friends and loved ones even a date night is awesome. Service is great but does slow down as it gets busy so that's understandable. For the Karen's and Henry's.....not a place for you. The food portions is very adequate and you get stuffed quickly. Really a nice family oriented business and Mangers and Owner is constantly checking on the guests, and for that I rate them a 10 star.
Robert Manganyi
It is a beautiful restaurant, situated in a beautiful area. We had a farewell lunch for a colleague who was leaving our office. We had a nice time. The prices are affordable as well. The views are exquisite. The stuff was also very friendly. We loved it and we had a very nice time ❤️
Ashley Hastie
Lovely tapas concept, tasty fresh food. I loved this experience. My favorite was the deep fried halloumi.
Rayno Powell
First time there and what an awesome place. Food is on a another level and it really was the best place for our wedding anniversary! Not tto busy and the service and food was better than top notch. It really takes a lot for me to sing praises like this!
George Curtin
Beautiful and inviting decor with amazing food. Great balance and texture. Such a delight.
Hinata Ito
It's a casual restaurant in Hazelwood area. We can enjoy a lot kinds of tapas at there. Atmosphere is also nice!
Jammer Band
Definitely a must go! And if you get the same waiter as we did you will never want to visit another restaurant again! Excellent service and food!
Maryke Fritz
What a nice experience! The service is top notch, and the food is delicious. We couldn't get enough. This is a must visit place! I really would like to thank the waitstaff for the outstanding service. Well done! Edit: We went back a couple of times, and every time, we were blown away by the food.

This resturant is situated in an area that has a lot of small resturants next to each other and therefore finding parking was just a nightmare. It took me almost 20minutes to eventually find parking. The food was great my favourite was the lamb cigars. Service was also great as the waiter was very attentive and friendly.
Pedro Miguel
Incredible tapas menu options. The portions are quite sizable. The food is incredible, The nachos were flavourful, well made and filling. The chicken strips were crunchy, juicy and tender. The food is always amazing and the servers are just as outstanding. No matter which server we get, the standard and quality of the service remains the same.

Great food. Good service. Great variety. Vegetarians and lactose people will have a ball. Good vibe and a great atmosphere. Worth a visit. Outside area is beautiful
Pamela Nchadi Morwane
It was lovely. They have a different menu set up. It was lovely to explore it. The food is delicious. The staff is so friendly. It is a beautiful environment. We enjoyed their Portuguese Chicken, Calamari and Prawns and Patatas 😁... And for dessert... we had the brownie and crushed lemon meringue... 👌
Kyle Rath
Food is a 8.5/10, but the value for money is insane! So so so much food! Had a great vibe too. Oh, and the Churros - delicious!
Chane Liebenberg
Good vibes, very attentive waiters and managers. We had cosmopolitans and a small sharing meal, both were excellent. I will be back to try some other dishes. Only problem I have is that I called at 11am to make a booking, and they told me no booking is necessary as they wont be busy. However, when we got there they were basically full and had to seat us inside until they could get us a table outside. I would have preferred to be allowed to make a booking.

Really enjoyed dining here for the first time. Great venue/ambience, great service and great food to go along with it. Those lamb and mint cigars are especially good. The cocktail recommended by our waitress was really good. The patatas bravas were a slight let down as the sauce could have been more spicy, and the potatoes could have been more crispy. Their marinated olives do deserve an honourable mention. Great for sharing, generous with their portions overall. Would gladly return to try out the rest of the menu.
Lance Govender
Great cocktails, virgin cocktail are good as well. Friendly staff
Lucy TL
Food is definitely delicious... You have to try a bit of everything... Menu has a good selection of such.... Well presented... Which makes it awesome... It's at the Village... Street full of restaurants... so awesome atmosphere...
Pamella Irakoze
Amazing tapas. Service was really good. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend.
Thandeka Simelane
The food is absolutely amazing and well priced. We ate a couple of things that were all great, the green beans, potatoes, steak, calamari and chorizo and the churros to name a few. There non alcoholic cocktails are also really good

I started with quite a crappy day THEN I came to Culture Club - the place that my daughter has been raving about. Thank you for good service, great food, interesting decor and an atmosphere that kills doom and gloom. Thank you for the smiles on every hostesses face, thank you to the kitchen for amazing food and picture perfect presentation. Congratulations, there isn't a lot of places that can accomplish what you have. Take it from someone that has been in this industry. Cherish all your staff and your winning concept ... highly recommend !! Once again, thank you ! Only blessing

On Saturday my mother and I visited Culture Club for lunch with my four-year-old toddler with down's syndrome. It was supposed to be a special occasion since my son had been terribly ill for a while, and my mother wanted to spoil us by diverting our attention to something that was supposed to be 'nice'. Our waiter had been busy with another table and my mother politely asked another waitress to bring butter to the table. After 15 minutes I walked up to the waitress and reminded her of the butter after which she assured me she has asked the kitchen to 'prepare' it. Eventually, my mother had to go to the manager and ask her to speak to the waitress after which the waitress stated that it wasn't her table. The waitress then slammed the butter on the table, and rolled her eyes at my mother as she rushed off. I was embarrassed by the waitress's rude attitude towards my mother. My husband is one of the owners of Capital Craft and I am in the food service industry myself, but never in my life have I witnessed a waitress treating a customer in such a demeaning manner. I sincerely hope that this matter will be dealt with because it would be a pity not to return based on one terrible experience we've had. The food was good and the manager understanding.

First time vissit. Was asked if we have resevation and replied no, we were told we would have to wait. By we were offered a table right away. Great vibe, easy going music. Waiters willing. As a chef i would recomend this place to anyone. Food was fresh and extremeley fast did not wait long for food. And good quality. Wil be back soon.
Shelleystoop
The tonic water was flat and the pork ribs were meatless and very tough to eat. The food wasn't as great as what I've experienced in the past.
Kelly Rodger
Great place to visit while in PTA on a cute street lined with restaurants. Heard about this place from colleagues who live in the area. Awesome tapas and drinks!
Martin J. Bester
My first visit to this little gem in the east of Pretoria. From the first moment we got there to the last crum of churros - what an amazing little place. Well priced and really the best tapas in town.
Adriaan De La Rey
Great service. Friendly staff. Various options of tapas and gin. Highly recommend the chicken strips and “Summer fling” cocktail. Amazing vibes.
Hugo Van Den Dool
Great service, great food. Highly recommended place is such a great vibe! The summer fling would highly recommend, aronici balls are amazing aswell. This place is one of my go to's

Last friday i had a night out at the Culture club with my family. We were greeted very warmly by the ladies on arrival and taken to our seat. You know how they say that first impressions stay, this is how i felt about the design of the table we sat at. The table stand, which i have taken a picture of is just so big and takes up most of your leg room making it very uncomfortable seating.

The whole evening i constantly moved from side to side to avoid this metal. The music and vibe was enjoyable and you can feel people are having a good time. We ordered what was familiar to us because the menu has no graphics to show you what is being advertised on the menu and not being familiar with this particular cuisine,it makes it hard.

Only after ordering a "steak" and receiving it with no sides and asking the waiter about side options had we realised that the tapas was supposed to be the sides. I think that more visuals can be added to this menu as well as some wording to say choose your side(tapas).

I ordered a nachos and my niece the chicken livers. The meals were surprisingly way smaller than what pictures on zomato looks like for the pan meals and what the price portrays. These are pricey starters.

The livers, Natchos and the Rump trinchado could however not be faulted. We definately licked our fingers and pans clean and the rump came medium to well done as ordered. Just a pity nobody asked if we wanted to order any sides to go.

I ordered the cocktail to share(R115), much to my dismay that the size was just not matching the price or the pictures of some reviews of a year ago, which means that it was down-sized from the past and not as expected in a big jar (The blue cocktail in the picture), compare to some old reviews, not consistent.

The deserts were however great in size and tasty. Well worth the money. We had churros, baklava and the weekly speacial of peanut and sorry but i can't remember the detail here, only that all was good.

You need a bigger budget than the recommended budget of i think it was R280 of two people on zomato, its more per person. Very pricey for the small portions im afraid.

This has to be one of my favorite restaurants! The food is absolutely delicious, I recommend the chicken strips, ribs and the Portuguese chicken skewer. The service is consistently efficient and the setting is so beautiful, especially at night. Definitely give culture club a try!
Nobubele Shozi
Wonderful setting. Food is amazing. Our waitress Nicola was so gracious and provided wonderful service. There was unfortunately two encounters with another waiter who literally threw our food onto the table and a not so pleasant female manager who didnt seem like she appreciated us spending our own money at this establishment. Apart from that its a good place for a saturday lunch.
Eugene Swart
Had such a taste adventure of different flavour combinations, perfectly paired with a fabulous G&T of your choice .. tonic's like infused Hibiscus and Elderflower, flavours you don't come by everyday.. 👌
TheGirlWithTheBlueHair
Its a Very nice place, beautiful decor, the set up is really cute! They have great food and drinks 🍹 Its a very very nice spot but the service was not the greatest.
Regardt Nel
Good food with a great atmosphere, it was our first time there, wish the high tabel stools were a little softer though. But all and all it was a great experience, compliments to the chef.
Kristlee
Beautiful setting and ambiance, great and efficient service.
Really delicious food and many options (vegetarian) they also offer really decent portions and its affordable. The Gin selection is out of this world. I love every time spent at Culture Club,
Cathy
Highly recommend. Have been here twice. Excellent service. Fast turnaround. Scrumptious! Fresh! Excellent to share different bits. Value for money. It gets busy though so you may wait, so try to go non-peak times or reserve ahead - although they take limited bookings
Beate Mey
The food was great and the restaurant setting is very pleasant, however, we had very poor service the evening we came here. In their defence, it was absolutely packed and it appeared as if they were trying to train more staff. I would definitely be coming back to the Culture Club, especially for their dessert selection!
Danielle Pike
Absolutely amazing tapas- definitely recommend the croquettes and chorizo lollipops. Not only was the food good, the service was some of the best we’ve had, quick and friendly.
Natalie De Canha
What an INCREDIBLE experience! The tapas was the most massive I’ve ever eaten, with gorgeous presentation, taste and variety! The location is stunning among a sea of fairy lights and trees in hazelwood‘ as Village. Our only let down was an inexperienced waiter who mixed up a few orders and the bill. I cannot wait to be back for more of the tapas options!
Thendo Mathobo
The atmosphere is amazing, we sat outside and the vibe was too good. The service was great, the waiter kept checking up on us to make sure we’re having a good time. The food was tasty and delicious, I enjoyed their dessert. And of course they have the cute drinks.
Lindy
This place has such a nice vibe, it's young and minimal shabby chic(hope that's the word) the food was tastier than expected I must say yum. I really loved this spot they had lots of vegetables variety which is sometimes so hard to find. The waiters were so friendly as well.
Lisa
Never fails to be one of the best Tapas restaurants, great food, good variety and awesome vibe. Service is quick and waiters are friendly and helpful.
Magdel Eksteen
A spur of the moment decision and a hunger for something a little different lead is to this unbelievable restaurant. We arrived about 10 minutes before the kitchen closed (sorry about that, guys), but we were assured that we would gladly still be served. The food was still top notch and prepared with great care. What amazing experience! And the service was excellent! So impressed, and will happily return any time! Thank you so much!
Lerissa
A real gem tucked away in Pretoria. I have never seen such a wide variety of gin before! The food is delicious, the service is great and the ambience is unmatched. Highly recommended.
Monique Theron-Whiting
Amazing service ,amazing tasting food, amazing ambience! I would rate them a 10 but obviously can’t but it’s really an amazing hidden gem.Wife and I enjoyed date night and polished our plates
Anél Fourie
Love love love this restaurant so much! We got to sample a variety of small dishes with friends. All of which was deicious. Only negative is that even though we had a set menu, there was too few items of some dishes and we had to break open croquettes so that everyone gets a taste. Wine list is great and they have a wonderful vareity of Gin!
Nicola De Canha
I’ve been waiting for ages to indulge here and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. I ate falafels with hummus and the honey butternut with feta. I was blown away at how flavorful the food was 🌱 the vibe is awesome and the staff is exceptionally friendly 🥑
I must admit that the food is relatively pricey, but seriously tasty ! 🍉
Semi Addison
Amazing food and drinks that are to die for! Has a really awesome location, and the staff are so friendly! Probably my favourite restaurant in Pretoria. Highly highly recommended!
Shabnam Khan
We enjoyed a feast of flavours at Culture Club last weekend. I love that the plates are small enough to allow you to have a variety on your table. We had the homemade lemonade to start with. We then opted for the following to share - roasted pepper and feta dip with pita bread (our favourite of the night - we wiped the bowl clean!), potatoe, spinach and herb cakes, roasted butternut with feta, the Mediterranean fish and the prawns tails. Every plate was delicious in it own right and I'd gladly have any of them again. For dessert, the chocolate brownie -- oh so heavenly. All of this accompanied by great service makes this one of my favourite places in Pretoria.
Gerrard Nel
Joyous restaurant with some interesting items on the menu. We had the calamari salad and a vegan dish which was very tasty. Great ambiance and very decent service. Will definitely return :)
Patrick Coulter
We sat outside on a fairly cool Saturday evening, but there were sufficient heaters that we never felt cold.
Staff were really friendly, helpful and efficient (as they should be).
Food was delicious and I would have kept eating if only I could have fitted more in.
Would definitely go back.
Herman Steyn
Truly one of my favourite spots in Pretoria. The food is really really good and of a high standard. The way they present the food is unique and every dish looks appetising (and it is!)
The staff are friendly and informative. You can easily lose track of time here as they managed to create an excellent cosmopolitan vibe. Go early, the place fills up fast!
Tumi Mahlangu
OMG!!! Culture Club is PARADISE!!😭💕
The cocktails are BOMB😭💙, the dishes are small in portion, filling AND absolutely delicious!😭💙
The staff is super chilled and the place is just SUCH a vibe!! 😭💕 They must just add a sweets menu. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!✔ Would definitely return!

Saturday night was a feast of flavour at the Culture club! Our first visit was indeed a delight as we enjoyed the evening in the cosy outdoors surrounded by gas heaters in a trendy setting. The falafel balls served with mini pitas were some of the best falafel we tasted in quite some time. Our favourite was the feta served with an olive salsa and toasted bread! Definitely worth visiting based on such exquisite dishes!
Paulo Gaspar
My favorite restaurant in Pretoria and never fails to deliver, from the efficient service to the amazing tapas faire. Well worth the drive from JHB.
Charlotte Snyman
Our friends live in Waterkloof and decided to treat us. Off we went to the Culture Club. As usual, I had questions about the various desserts. We decided to each choose a dessert. I chose the churros. My husband chose the creme brulee. They the Club Mess and panacotta.
They brought the desserts and we were not disappointed. They were visually beautifully done. We each shared desserts so we could all try. So good!
We had friendly staff who were courteous, friendly and fun.
If we lived here, we would be regulars.
Paul
Great food, vibe, drinks and service. My waitress Lolly was a dream, who did everything to ensure an overall great experience. Best tapas in the 012!
Rhoneth
So I've been to this Tapas spot 3 times and every time has been good. The last time we went we shared the lamb chops, chicken on a skewer, rump trinichado, greek salad and potato spinach fritters. All the food was excellent. (One of the chicken pieces was still raw in the centre, but after they brought it back it was really good). For drinks I had the cucumber and lemon cocktail, it was very cucumbery. I wouldn't order it again but if you enjoy the taste of cucmber it's good. For dessert we shared the chocolate brownie with ice cream, caramel popcorn panna cotta and the Baklava with citrus creme.. all extremely delicious. In terms of affordable resturants in Pretoria this is definetely the best. The service is also excellent, attentive yet also not in your face. I cannot reccommend one specific dish you should try as everything was amazing.

What a treat!! Awesome vibe, good service, the best G&T and Tapas in abundance! Would definitely recommend Culture Club for a night out on town!

Had my 30th Birthday here for 22 people. Had set menu for a really good price per person. My friends are still talking about the food and the experience. The waiters are on the ball, really impressed! The manager was very nice about the Hendricks Gin specail. Thank you Team Culture Club.
Lethabo Mokhonoana
Booking a place is important. We were lucky to get one without booking after waiting a couple of minutes to be placed. Great staff and their churros are amazing!
Maritsa Van Der Walt
The atmosphere at this restaurant is amazing! Tapas, some are really good and others not, I have visited a few times and every time the service and food quality differs a bit.
Louisa Botha
Hallo this is a note to Zomato rather take “Gluten free options” out of your description it creates confusion
We chose this restaurant because they had the “options” and was very disappointed when we ordered gluten free bread to go with the lovely spreads. Our friend gets really sick from gluten so with us it was not a “cool fashion” thing it was a real need
However the food we did order was delicious all in all a pleasant experience
Varaidzo Veneka Mbanga
This is the second time I’ve been there and I enjoy their food and drinks. The only thing i was not impressed by, this time around was that they had a white couple getting seated on a table we had requested for upon reservation only to get a table right by the entrance, which we waited for 30min to get. Apart from that its an amazing vibe
Donovan Marks
A truly superb spot. Booking is essential as they can get very busy.

Menu is different and fresh. We have tried several dishes, pop corn pork, parmesan chicken strips, calamari, etc. never disappointed. Also great selection of cocktails and gins. Not to mention the setting outside. One of our favorites.
Lucian
On a recommendation, we decided to go to Culture Club in Hazelwood. I would recommend booking a table since we were lucky when we got there before the place filled up.
We were welcomed and shown to our table inside (outside was full already). Had a look at the menu and Emma took our orders. Started with some Biltong spread with toasted bread and Jalepeno poppers wrapped in bacon. Was quite good.
Next we opted for Pork ribs, spring rolls and Parmesan coated chicken strips. Spring rolls were good, but the chicken strips were dry (think it might’ve been cooked too long) and the ribs was a tad bit disappointing ( almost no meat and cold).
Will give them a try again, so will have to see if the next time will be better!
Albicitton
This is the best eatery in Pretoria and probably the best in South Africa. The service is fantastic and the staff always willing to go the extra mile. The meals are consistently delicious and I have tried absolutely every meal on the menu and I have never been disappointed. The specials board is updated constantly so there are always new and exciting dishes to try out, culture club also has one of the largest gin selections I have seen at a restaurant. If I could eat there Mon-Sun I wouldn’t hesitate, Bravo Culture Club!
Brenda Newman
Our first Culture Club experience and definitely not our last! The atmosphere and drinks are amazing. But the food makes it worth while....oh my word! So so tasty and enjoyed the whole 'sharing is caring' concept. Great service all round and waiters are really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to gain some more 'culture' 😉
Martmeri Smit
Thank you for a stunning evening. Culture club went out their way to help a big group of us. The service was amazing and ‘Amber’ knew the whole book of different gins and could explain what the best mixer for it all is!! We went for different tapas and they all arrived not even 10minutes after ordered. Thai squid was a clear winner and those that opted for the trinchado couldnt get enough. There was a DJ playing as well which created a great vibey atmosphere.
Makgoadi Ngoasheng
I really like this place! Drove there on a Sunday afternoon with my sister and her friend to grab a quick bite. We turned a corner and boom! a street lined with interesting restaurants, all different but kinda similar in vibe. There weren't that many people there as most of the restaurant were just closing but culture club was still open for business.

Im not quite sure how good their drinks are because I had one cocktail and didn't want another after that, it tasted like cool aid 😶 . BUT THAT ASIDE I enjoyed their food! I had the Rump trinchado with olives and ciabatta 🍞 and my sister and the friend both had steak which was juicy and very tasty!! For the first time I actually managed to finish an entire plate of food! Need to visit again soon, definitly recommend it👍
Wildri Davids
What a lovely surpruse! Excellent foof, excellent vibe, excellent service! Thank you! We will definately be bacjk with a lot of friends and family!
Suzanne Strydom
Man, if I lived closer, you would have to drag me away from their stoep. It has a relaxed, yet vibey atmosphere. Fresh, cool decor (feels a bit like you are on holiday somewhere in the Mediterranean). Food- flavourful, delicious, fresh, great variety. Winelist- included some good MCC options, so that had me hooked. Great service. My favourite spot on the Hazelwood strip!
Sharon Collins
What an absolutely amazing experience once again. Cape Town is fairly renowned for their really great tapas bars but wow, wow, wow, - Culture Club never disappoints. Amazing food, friendly service. Cannot wait to get back to Pretoria to enjoy your delicious food. Thank you once again!
Nadia Joubert
It is truly an amazing experience eating at the Culture Club. The restaurant has a warm and festive feel. They have an amazing selection of gins and tonics to choose from. The food is delicious. Interesting options to choose from and it arrives at the table shortly after ordering. The kitchen does a great job getting the hundreds of small plates of food out on a busy night. I’d definitely go back there again soon!
The Schoeman Brothers
Maybe the best restaurant I have ever been to! Absolutely wonderful view and delicious tapas! Very fast service and I would definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant!
Barry.nicci
Our first time at Culture Club and it won’t be our last! The food was Delish, the staff were awesome and super helpful and our waiter Calvin was Incredible!
Nixie
Amazing tapas...gosh I think we ordered everything! I even loved how the waiters hugged each other as they came in for their shift. Drinks are good.. service very good. Brownies are amaaazing
Yaseera Gani
Each dish was beautifully prepared and presented. Fresh, vibrant and full of flavour. Throughly enjoyed the Thai grilled squid, the squid perfectly cooked in a fresh summery dressing 👌🏼. The atmosphere in the evenings is absolutely enchanting. Friendly service and great food. Looking forward to visiting again
Raoul
I often pop into this place for after work sundowners with a couple of colleagues. The service is ideal and we often end up having drinks only. The atmosphere is great and the place is always really busy so a booking can be essential. Have not eaten much here but I will really try something in the future.
Tharien Coetzee
Culture Club opened more than a year ago and I have been wanting to go for ages!! Today was the day!! It was a perfect day when the husband and I decided to grab an early lunch. We were charmed by the lively atmosphere of 16th avenue and its collection of creative shops and restaurants.

Reception and service was friendly and attentive. When I couldn't find the gin on the main menu I was presented with a dedicated gin menu with a collection of craft gins as colourful and varied as your imagination! I was in love!!!

I carefully selected a hibiscus and protea flavoured gin paired with elderflower tonic and it was the most delightful refreshment i could imagine. Even before we ordered food I already picked out my next gin. An apple flavoured "elephant" gin.

On to the food!! There were many items that caught our eye, but finally i went with the pork and apple salad and parmesan zucchini. Hubby got some croquettes and beef trinchado. All the flavours of my salad worked together beautifully, i couldn't stop stuffing my face. The zucchini lacked a bit of seasoning.

For dessert, what else, churros!!!! Hooray, it was fantastic and light and crispy and the chocolate sauce devine!!

We'll be back for sure!!!
Awande Mngadi
I went to Culture club with my girl friends on a Thursday afternoon just after work. The restaurant offers a cool, relaxed environment, perfect for unwinding at the end of day. As gin likers we were spoilt for choice with their method of offering a variety of gins and unique tonics. We ordered our tapas together and really enjoyed the act of sharing. The meal was well priced (averaging at R180 each incl drinks). The staff was sweet and attentive. This will definitely be our regular spot.
Reana Le Roux
It was our second time at Culture Club. I booked a table for 6 a week ago, requesting it to be on the front deck. It was for a 45th birthday celebration. The lady that 'welcomed' us - I can't remember her name, and do not think I want to - yesterday at 18:00 (blond hair) showed us to our table on the side of the restaurant. I immediately told her that this is not what we booked. Her snotty answer? 'Why does it matter? You are at Culture Club, aren't you?'. She really lacks people skills. Luckily the waiters and manager on duty saved the day. Big thanks to them. Food and ambiance were great.
Melt Van Der Spuy
What a lekke chilled night. A nice and quiet date night with the gf. We had some amazing gins that we could choose from a wide variety, with a waiter that was very friendly and helpful.
Mona Makwakwa
I Love Culture Club😍😍 the food and ambience of the establishment is just perfect for chilling with friends. The service is just as good, didn't like being tossed from one waiter to the next though, ended up not knowing who to ask what from. Other than that, this establishment is all sorts of 👌👍🏽

First time visit today, Loved the vibe and atmosphere , food is fresh, tantalizing and D.Lish, drinks on point and a must try is the aged steak, and you have to try the Choc brownie its a wow if you a choc lover.
Thuli Mari
I was very excited to try out Culture Club! Especially if you're a gin lover as I've heard great reviews about it.

Ambiance:
Culture Club is setup in a really lovely area. It feels as if you've been transported to a secret location.

Cocktails:
The gin cocktails that we had were good at best. I've had better at other restaurants who do not specialize in gin. If you love drinking G&T's -you will be impressed. If you're like me who loves gin but minus the tonic you won't enjoy them as much.

Food:
I was rather let down with their tapas. The one I loved the most were the fish goujons! They were absolutely tasty. The lamb cigars for me lacked flavour and the punch you would expect from them based on their description. I actually struggled to taste the lamb itself. The halloumi was disappointing - it was cold and I honestly preferred the pickled cucumber. The Portuguese chicken thighs had a lovely flavouring from the sauce but the chicken itself was under seasoned.

Service:
The service was great. Our waiter was friendly and on the ball. He definitely made up for the shortcomings I experienced.

Verdict:
I would be willing to go try more of their cocktails. Even though they are not my first choice for gin cocktails specifically. I'm also more than likely to go having already eaten as I find the food average at best.
Molecules And Macaroons
We've been eyeing out Culture Club for a while and finally made the trip to sample their treats. This tapas eatery offers much better value for money and portion size than its Joburg competitors. It boasts a menu full of crowd pleasing dishes that ensures that everyone leaves feeling content. The halloumi and chicken strips were a hit.

My only qualm is the flavour and the balance thereof. Whilst everything is tasty, some key flavour profiles were lacking such as the paprika in the prawns or the citrus in the salt on the squid. It would be nice if the dishes were more punchy and less safe. That being said, I'm definitely adding CC to my list of go to restaurants for dinners with friends - the fairy lights are oh so magical.

Jane VB
I've never known a restaurant manager/owner to be so rude. We had some drinks and then left to eat elsewhere as we felt very uncomfortable after she spoke to my husband like a child. Despite that, the food and service we've experienced previously is lovely, but definitely won't be going again.
Patricia VdB
We visited Culture Club for ladies night last Friday eve. We booked a table and got the best table in the house, thank you CC .... happy dance! Also the "fairy lights" all around in the trees are just magical. Culture Club Is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants and probably one of the best at the moment. From making a reservation to paying the bill everything went smooth & effortless. Just love everything about CC ... the vibe, ambiance, decor, service, staff, gin cocktails, the bar and off course the food ... just brilliant and tops!!! I asked the waitress for a gin cocktail suggestion and I was very impressed and pleased with her choice, it was amazing! A tot of "Bloedlemoen Gin" with a dash of grapefruit and tonic water, yum. We were 6 ladies and everyone ordered something different and must say each dish was prepared with so much passion and everything tasted amazing, full of flavour and delicious. I cannot fault anything. Highly recommend CC - 5⭐️ and cannot wait to return.

I love tapas and was desperately looking for a place in Pretoria that would take me on a taste-bud journey back to Spain.

Now even though Culture Club has a whole lot of fusion options, the concept is there, and everything we tasted was absolutely scrumptious. Just pick your selection of tapas, pick a wine and enjoy. The atmosphere is absolutely delightful, yes it is busy, but you have room to breathe. Prices are reasonable and you get good value for money.

Service is good, quick and pleasant.
This is one of my favourite eateries in Pretoria.
Geurt Diepeveen
Good service. Good food it's that simple.
We only had 6 different kinds op tapas so our review is based on that. Especially the arrancini balls were excellent
Amanda Lukac
An afternoon that we would happily do over and over. Awesome atmosphere, fabulous food and outstanding service. Thank you, we'll definitely be back!
Mariette Krause
Great, lazy afternoon lunch over great cocktails and incredible tapas. Quality of the food is really good and the portions very generous! Service very good and staff friendly and helpful. Will be doing that again for sure!!!!!

An impressive experience - so glad to finally have tried out Culture Club as I have heard only great reviews!
The atmosphere and service were both warm and welcoming! I tasted the meatballs, lamb & feta cigar and the Chocolate gnache churros. The meals were filling and incredibly tasty!

An inviting menu that leaves you wanting to try more.

A first time visit to this fun tapas bar. No expectations but we were pleasantly surprised! Laid back vibe and an extensive selection of craft gins, what's not to like? The tapas was tasty, can recommend the parmesan crusted chicken inhaled by all the kids! Adults loved the Trinchado, the calamari and the patates! Something for everyone....

Amazing service and even better food. I felt the place was a little cramped but worth it. Booking is a must and don't expect a smoking section.
Ettienne Marais
Warm, friendly, too much food that's good and an awesome vibe. Highly recommended try everything because once you start, you just can't possibly stop. Saw some celebs as well so obviously pulling a crowd!

Possibly one of the best restaurants I've been to. They hit the nail on the head in just about every aspect. The food is fantastic as well as the ambiance and service.
Waseem Imam Saheb
The food was incredible- i must confess - though it was just a tapas bar- the seafood we had was one of the best of had in gauteng... the atmosphere is also incredible... very rustic... perfect for a sunday chill sessions... gosh i just wanted a comfy couch to lazy on after lol... i will be returning - no doubts about it

Culture Club is always buzzing with people. I have only heard good things about it. The restaurant is simple but attractively done with their trademark beautiful blue tiles.

We were helped by a friendly and attentive waitron who suggested a delicious craft gin combination. It was a blend of Bulldog Gin with grapefruit, lime and dried rosemary mixed with tonic water.

We shared 4 plates of Tapas. First we had zucchini slices served with mozzarella and lemon for a zesty and delicious taste. Next we had garlic and spinach potato patties which were perfectly crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. The fully loaded panini was also delicious. Lastly, we had the chicken strips with a cheese sauce. They were scrumptious.

Such a delicious lunch overall. I'll definitely be back.

Delicious! Excellent service. Amazing atmosphere. We have eaten there in numerous occasions and have never been let down. The Haluomi balls are my favourite. Best tapas restaurant in Pretoria - just saying 😄 Anton Dippenaar

This is truly an awesome gem in the ever growing food scene in Pretoria!!! Have been here 4 times and the food and service is truly outstanding!!!! Excellent!!!!

Went here for our anniversary and was a lively evening! Nice vibe, really good food and value for money! Only negative is that they don't allow corkage... being our anniversary we wanted to open a special wine we have been saving..! But we will surely return for more tapas!
Dean Fergusson
Great tapas menu from starters right through to dessert. To the powers that be who may be reading this; Lamb Cigars definitely need to make a move to the permanent menu.

Had high hopes for the evening. Previous experience here was lovely but this time it was rather horrible. We sat right by the kitchen which was the first mistake but it was super full but we had no other choice and we really wanted my mom to try out this place that we have been raving about. The service was horrendous, very rude and cheeky waiter that thought he knew everything. The place was totally overcrowded and super noisy. A noisy that makes you uncomfortable and causes you to shout across the table to the point where you give up. The haloumi (which we normally use as an indication of how good the greek cuisine is) was squash ball material. It was very disappointing, it was basically rubber with undercooked herbs on it. We send it back and got a even more rubbery piece of haloumi. The price to food ratio is also astronomically high. You get almost no food for the price you pay. It is definitely apparent that they make the bulk of the food before and just heat it in a microwave or a oven as you order. Very disappointing evening!

One of the best restaurants in Pretoria at the moment I think.

The restaurant is quaint and inviting. The atmosphere is warming and classy. Interior is simple and gorgeous. The service was good, if not a bit hasty.

The front of house are friendly but a bit snobbish.

We ordered a bottle of beyerskloof wine to drink and then started our selection of tapas.

We ordered the cognac infused chicken liver pate, the roasted red pepper dip (which both came with warm toasty bread and pita breads) The chicken pate was so good that it almost brought me to tears ,cause it reminded me so much of my mom's one. The red pepper dip was really delicious and light.

We also had the crumbed fish goujons, crispy calamari, Greek salad, prawns and chorizo and the parmasan baby marrow.

The seafood was all cooked to perfection and the fish was some of the best I have ever had. The calamari was so soft and succulent. The greek salad was divine and had a huge portion of feta, the baby marrow was also really good but the chorizo and prawns (shrimp) was disappointing as it had no flavour and the shrimp were extremely over cooked and hard.

Culture club is a wonderful establishment and I have told so many of my friends to try it out and they are just as impressed. I am in love with this place.
Robert McGrath
Absolutely love this place. The meals are refreshing and light and there are so many options for you to choose from. I ordered the Parmesan chicken strips, the Italian job panini and the fish goujons. The chicken strips come with a creamy delicious cheese sauce and were definitely the highlight of my meal. They are crunchy and tender all in one and are so tasty. The Italian job has meatballs, a creamy tomato purée, pesto and a lot of cheese. It never disappoints! The goujons are also delicious and if you're feeling like some variation to the meat are definitely a good option. I would really recommend culture club as a solid lunchtime option.
Maxine Boyd
Lovely restaurant, very vibey and upmarket.
They have a great cocktail menu and equally as good cocktails.
The menu is nice for picky eaters as it is more smaller portions that you can order lots of different things from.
However some of my food was a bit oily and rich, but the rest was scrumptious!
Definitely worth a visit!
Philippa
Had a lovely saturday afternoon @ Culture Club which featured a scrumptious meat platter and gorgeous craft gins! The service was emaculate. We were not quite sure which gins to try and the staff made sure we got a good general idea of all of the availible flavours. I would definately go back and try some more!
Bronwyn Esterhuizen
Great vibe, amazing tapas, speedy service, what more could you ask for? Definitely a great place to socialize and enjoy good food. I would recommend getting lots of little plates and sharing them between a group of people - perfect way to taste their many tasty tapas.
Warren Prospero
A fantastic experience throughout as the service was quick and friendly and the food and cocktails had a definite wow factor. The location is also a positive however it is a bit difficult to find parking.

The parmesan chicken strips and citrus olives were faultless with the strips being the standout of the meal. The porkies ribs were tasty however some ribs were a bit tougher than others and the special of prawn tails were large and firm however they could have a bit more flavour.
Definitely will be back to try more of the exciting dishes.
Martie Vosloo
Awesome atmosphere and amazing food. The portions are big and so tasty!!! Definitely a place to visit for any occasion. We had such a good time, with great service and friendly staff.
Nita
If you haven't been to this restaurant, you need to go there ASAP! Everything was first class, from getting there, the service, the food and of course the electric energy. We ordered a whole lot of small dishes to make up our own tapas. The food was on our table within 10 minutes. World class service, if you ask me. Everything was tasty and full of flavour. My favourite -being a garlic addict- was the mushrooms. Done to perfection. Every mushroom was juicy and an explosion of flavour on my tongue.
The only negative I can give was the fact that it states on Zomato, that you need to make a booking. When I called at 6, they said that bookings for the night has closed. We went there regardless and managed to get a table for two, even though we were told that we will have to wait an hour and a half, for a table. Danae was gracious enough to make a plan for us. Thank you.
Please specify your table reservation times. Overall, a brilliant experience. Our waiter was attentive, quick and incredibly friendly, in every way. I think his name was Justin. Brilliant attitude. We will be back, with friends in tow.
Mirik Mirik
Terrible experience on Sunday evening. Service without brain. Shot in this pub is 0.025 ml!!! Never more!!! No no no more!!!!+ It was realy last time.
Honey Badger
Very pleasant experience. My first time. Matthew was friendly and the management presence is very notable. Other restaurants can take a leaf out of their book.

This is a gem!! A rose between the thorns of city living! The atmosphere created in "The Village" is a beautiful little European style streetscape and it lends itself to beautiful spaces nestled between many contemporary restaurants, coffee shops and establishments!! Culture Club itself is beautiful located, the food is amazing, tapas style greek dining, great drinks, cocktails, gineria and tequilaria!! Its always busy so expect it to have an effect on service, but seriously, it is not misunderstood and never to a point where one feels neglected! Parkin. Is unfortunately an issue as are many of these style establishments as they are part of the suburban streetscape but soonest you find a spot you're in for a good time! Recommended to rather Uber or other form of public transport. But i seriously cant fault anything else!!
Stephen O Shea
I had the privilege of eating here today..What can I say?..nothing short of amazing.Value for money, attentive staff(Dillon) thank you very much for for your assistance. Also a Gin lovers paradise. Can't wait to go back.
Kari-Mari
My absolute favourite. I have friends comming all the way from Joburg on week nights as Culture club never ever dissapoints!

Love love the gin options. The food and the atmosphere is amazing.

Make sure you book in advance (like 2 weeks in advance) as their popularity is not a hidden fact.
Nico Van Der Merwe
Having tried previously to do walk-in with lunch, we got a table straight away. Unfortunately a humid day meant a warmer setting inside, but as a light breeze started up cooled things down nicely. Prompt service, and a not too shabby wine list helped to start off the late lunch. We were happy to see a menu that doesn't try to bombard you with too many options, but still leaves room to come back again. One thing is for sure - we ordered way too much! The winner was definitely the crispy chicken with cheese sauce. A spicy trinchado, flavourful mushrooms and always favourite patatas bravas made up the rest. Service throughout was good, not too clingy but not too far. Definitely want to come back and work through the rest - need to taste the churros!
Lisa Steyn
I booked Culture Club for a bridal shower this weekend and had the most wonderful experience. They went to great lengths to accommodate all our requirements and it was executed perfectly on the night. The venue has a great vibe, the service wad great and the food and drink was absolutely fantastic. Very pleased overall and would highly recommend them!
Stefan Schrage
What an amazing different experience... food was good. Tried the granita thingy with an extra shot of tequila.. yumma!! Food came to the table quick and staff was friendly. The only thing i could fault was the spacing between tables. Felt a bit snugg.. other than that it was 'lekker '... tapas was really good and their bacon jam is something you MUST try.. for ambience vibe and food i give 10/10.. well done guys!
Ruan Swancrow
Such a lively and quirky place to visit if you're close to the Waterkloof or Hazelwood are in Pretoria.

Good food, although the starters seemed overpriced compared to quality.

Friendly and well trained servers, I would definitely return to explore more of what they have to offer on the menu.
Nico Gray
What a great little place that has alot of oomph! Love the setup, colours and decor. If you in the mood for small portion Tapas with drinks then look no further. I had a good time and the staff were in top performance. My only gripe was the flies that day, but there was an army of citronella candles to try mitigate the situation.
Thinus
Perfect choice for a loooooooooooooong Saturday lunch, great selection of tapas( our favourites were the spanish meatballs, sticky spareribs, panko chicken strips, falafel, honey butternut, haloumi bites, patatas bravas, prawn & chorizo salsa, Chilly poppers , spinach cakes and beetroot dip). Give the tzatziki a miss( no taste and rather watery).

Good service although the guys are much quicker to assist ( even if it is not their table to serve), than their female counterparts.

We will be back!
Trevor
Packed to the rafters when I arrived at around 15h00
Had to wait for a table which is cool. Eventually one became available- we were seated but had to ask for table to be cleaned post last guests. Thought that would have been standard procedure.
Another group were squeezed in behind us and when I say squeezed I am not exaggerating, literally lifted the table to be seated. I understand utilization of space but this was ridiculous.
Ordered a selection of tapas including jalapeño poppers, chicken thigh skewers, ribs and fillet strips. A bottle of Saronsberg Sav Blanc was served perfectly chilled. Service was friendly if somewhat haphazard.
The biggest complaint other than the overcrowding was the incessant and relentless attack of flies !!
So annoying and off putting when you have to spend the entire meal swatting and shooing away flies. Really need to sort out this problem. Ruined the entire experience.
Alessio Claudio Perotti
This place is amazing!! I had a lemon and herb chicken salad and it was amazing !! Everything was fresh and great flavour with an amazing espresso to end off my treat ! Great vibe highly recommend
Candice De Alcantara
I love, love, love this place!! The gin & cocktail selection is just fabulous & the food is amazing. I have been there a few times & have tried a lot & would recommend just about everything on the menu. Try the dips & pates (the biltong pate with bacon jam is my FAVOURITE!), the chicken strips, the rump, the meatballs, the chorizo & the jalapeño poppers (also one of my favourites!). To end it off (if you have space) try the churros, they are divine!! The owner is also lovely & lots of fun. Overall, a great place to go!

This is one of the coolest hangouts I've come across in the last few months! Culture club has an AMAZING atmosphere and great service (with good looking waiters 😉) and they serve 'craft' gin (and also other drinks) and I love tapas! I loved every second of being here! Definitely would go there again and they are affordable.
Sabrina Mortimer
I had such a good time on a previous occasion that I decided to take my mom there last night. It was her first impression of the place and sadly it was very disappointing. It was fully booked but some reserved tables were still empty, so not yet at max capacity. The service was completely lacking to say the least. We were put at the bar and after 10 minutes had still not been attended to; not being served is one thing but we were made to feel uncomfortable and as if we were an inconvenience to both the Maitre'd and waiters. We left the restaurant under the gaze of the Maitre'd and won't be back in a hurry.
Brent Ellis
Very nice atmosphere matched by great service and very, very good food. Perhaps a little more shade cover necessary during summer. Enjoyable vibe, will definitely visit again. 👌
Riani Deacon
Perfect for a lunch date if you're not sure what you want. The menu have a wide variety. The service was quick and the waitress was very friendly! We had chicken strips which were the vest I had. The hummus dip was also good and tasteful. We will visit again without a doubt
Oom Wag 'n Biedtjie
Brilliant place well worth the fuss . They to have a craft gin section (R30 a tot) (R30 a mix) the food was brilliantly fresh tasty and the service acceptable. The floor manager (Ronaldi (?) was suburb a huge assist to Culture Club. The burnt orange gin where divine. I cannot fault the food. (Safe menu obtains) wine prices very acceptable Moët going for R800 and Verve R1000. Steenberg Sav R180

I would suggest they have a tapas plater or two. It would be great to order a plater of tapas and a bottle of wine.
Kemesha
Poor customer care service. Customers should be treated equally and not discriminated against on the basis of race or color. Shocked and disturbed by the behavior of the serving staff.
The Secret Foodie Lady
My second time at Culture Club! A true gem! They take pride in excellent, friendly service. Delicious food which is value for money, especially the veggie dishes & the cosmopolitan cocktail! All-round an eclectic, happy & chilled atmosphere. Tip: book a table way in advance, especially on a Friday evening. No worries if you don't, we didn't wait too long for one of their walk-in tables to open up :)

Best eat out in Pretoria. A lovely mixture of Tapas to choose from. I would recommend trying a real variety of flavours that perhaps you wouldn't normally go for as there really are a stunning assortment of tastes. Not only is the food good, but the drinks as well, as again there is a great choice available to you! Whether its wines or a cocktail from their ever-expanding list, theres always one to compliment your meal. However from a personal view, the GnT's are certainly a go go. The Malfi Gin, fairly unique to Culture Club, is a personal favourite from the many on offer. Waiters are friendly and helpful, and are always on the look out to give your table attention. All in all, a very good eat out that i would highly recommend to anyone!

Thank you Culture Club, we will be back :)
Justin
Culture Club is the absolute "Crown jewel" of the new Village in Pretoria, food is exceptional, the gin selection is enough to turn anyone into an alcoholic- yes it's that good! Personal favourites include the Malfy and Bloedlemoen gin (served with grapefruit) I have been there enough times now to not even bother to look at the menu! the mature rump, hallumi bites, chicken strips and Thai grilled squid are exceptional! the specials are also for ever changing according the seasonal and fresh produce that is available, which I love! The owner is very hands on and is always very welcoming and accommodating! Be sure to book at least a week in advance as it gets incredibly busy. All in all, my absolute favourite restaurant to sit under a tree, drink gin and catch up with friends. See you again soon Culture Club!
Stonelli
Absolute shockingly appalling behaviour! They brought the wrong drink, and five of us witnessed that it was not what was ordered! The manager put it on the invoice. We refused to pay since it was clearly their fault. She said since it was already poured, we have to pay and if we don't we must not come back. WE CERTAINLY WON'T!!
Stacey Faber
Culture Club is your ultimate hangout for cocktails and finger snacks! If you feel like a catchup with friends over delectable eats then this is the place to be! Very cool vibe! Inside and outside seating! Tapas menu! Great cocktail and gin selection!! The chicken livers are my absolute fave! Best...

We were invited out to Culture Club on a Sunday afternoon by some Pretoria friends. Not really knowing Pretoria, we were delighted to discover Hazelwood Food Village - a collection of fabulous looking foodie spots, where Culture Club is nestled in the middle.

Culture Club serves some delicious cocktails and has a tapas only menu, perfect for sharing with a large table. I had a non-alcoholic Grenadilla Sherbet mocktail, which was fabulous. Others at the table ordered R&R's (Mozambican favorite - Rum and Rasberry), Cosmopolitans and something blue and dangerous looking 😉

We ordered a variety of tapas plates, including the Panko chicken strips, Spanish meatballs, falafel, honey-glazed butternut, sticky spareribs, patatas bravas, crumbed haloumi bites and prawn & chorizo salsa Brava.

Expecting small portions, we were totally overwhelmed by the amount of food that arrived on the table. For the price point of the plates we expected small portions - they were anything put. Everything was generously sized, a pleasant difference to what you'd get charged at a similar joint in Johannesburg.

The food was delicious. The Spanish meatballs had a pleasant zing to them; the chicken strips we're perfectly crispy, the sugar snap peas in the prawn and chorizo dish were super-fresh...I could go on and on.

Service was a little slow as the place got busier and busier, but nothing worth complaining about in such a chilled location. Wide range of age demographics just enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon gave a very eclectic vibe.

The only disappointment were the desert churros with chocolate orange ganache. Again, a generous portion (5 pieces of churro) but they were very oily and the chocolate ganache tasted suspiciously like cheap, melted cooking chocolate with nary a hint of orange. The chocolate mousse was however fabulous.

Overall though, a fabulous day with great food - and definite with a revisit.

Situated in Waterkloof, Culture Club transcends further than just a restaurant but a trip to Greece. The "tapas" meals allow friends and familys to join together and experience the art of sharing meals amongst one another. There are a variety of gins that will change your view on having just Gordon's and tonic water. The cocktails are simply tremendous and the actual meals leave you coming back for more. A tremdous little spot of heavan tucked away at The Village. I would recommend the thai grilled squid to any seafood lovers as the calamari is grilled to perfection and melts in your month. Definitely a restaurant to try out if you haven't been already.
Charis Nieuwoudt
Love the food it is just amazing! Very affordable. The vibe is so nice with all the fairy lights. They can work on the service for your drinks. Lots of people that has been there and spoken to love the food but most of them say the service is too slow for your drinks. Book in advance!
Janthinus Schrage
This is definitely a different cuisine culture than your ordinary restaurant experience. Situated in the Hazelwood Food Village, Culture Club offers you tapas galore. This is what you would call in Afrikaans "kuierkos". Their menu offer all delicious varieties of spreads, dips, tapenades and not to mention the bites. The servings are small to decently sized and the key here is to order together and share. Although their winelist feels a bit limited I enjoyed what they had on offer. Try their Granita cooler and if you feel naughty, order a shot of tequila to zoop it up. Love this place and would definitely recommend it.
Michelle
It was a busy night and we were left waiting for our drinks every time ..... I hope in the future we will have better service . The staff was really friendly . They have a good variety on wines and cocktails and the atmosphere is great .
Jo MDubai
Awesome place and atmosphere, really good value for money!

Bigger tables outside would be a plus if you consider the amount of plates that are on the table.

The "smoking section" right next to the tables outside is not acceptable- I think the law says 50 meters from any entrance. If the owners could completely ban smoking it would be awesome.

Otherwise we always love coming here!
Desiré Julyan
Set in a lovely neighborhood you can completely forget that you are in the city. The decor is great and with bright blue hues are calming. The menu options are great and the cocktails are so cool and refreshing. The chicken strips are a must try for a light lunch
Michelle
The one thing I like about tapas is that you can try many plates of different foods and even share with friends, which makes it great for socialble eating
The portions are also well priced.

For drinks order the gin and tonic. I am a fan of the malfy, which is lemon infused Italian gin....yum!

The vibe is great and very social. The only downside is that their inside section is quite small and if it rains you won't have much cover outside.

I will definitely be back again and again.

Alastair Waldeck
Finally! A decent tapas restaurant in the purple city! I have been waiting ages to have a restaurant like this here and I'm pleased to say it was well worth the wait! Culture Club has an amazing atmosphere, and the food is to die for! Every time I leave here I walk out STUFFED and yet, at the same time, still wanting more! There really is an excellent selection of quality tapas dishes and they also have a constantly changing specials menu which is well worth a look! This place is a definite must-visit!
Jess
Yummy Yummy YUMMY food! Love the fact that you can order a few different things, share and still leave feeling satisfied.
Only reason I didn't give a higher rating, was that the waiters took extremely long to take our order in the beginning with 2 out of the 3 waiters just wondering around.
In the end, our waiter Ben was speedy and delivered great service.
Esther Shaidi
A post lunch drinks catch up in this lovely little spot. The atmosphere is so lovely and chilled and the decor beautiful.

I ordered the churros with dark orange ganache and the granadilla sherbet cocktail.
The ganache tasted so DELICIOUS, the churros were not fantastic and a tad too crispy with no "flesh" on the inside.
The cocktail was ok, nothing too memorable and a tad on the sour side.
Adele Du Toit
Great atmosphere, attentive service, delicious tapas! Wide selection to suit all tastes and great wine selection. I would recommend this place for a lovely casual summer get together
Eugenie Herbst
So impressed! Usually when a new place opens and is crowded from day one you can expect slow service and tired staff. But not at Culture Club! The service is super fast and the staff so friendly and attentive. The setting is beautiful and the food absolutely delicious.
I was surprised by the portion sizes too. It was quite generous which made me feel like I got my money's worth.
Their pickled english cucumbers are divine and so are the Spanish style beef kebab! And off course their hummus is a must.
If ever you need a fun, vibrant and delicious hang out, this is it.
Divine Rakau
The village is just such a treat you take a walk around and stumble into the best places, as we did in this case, as we were trying to settle between burger bistro and Alfie's we landed slap bam in the middle of the two and figure might as well, which was actually perfect for our dinning preference as we just wanted some drinks and maybe a bite. Being that it's a tapas bar it's rather perfect for a quick nibble. The presentation of the food is excellent and the staff is so friendly but I will say there are a few items which felt slightly misrepresented, such as the smoothies being more milkshake than smoothie and the churro being more well I don't know, it didn't quite hit the mark for me, a churro is meant to be crunchy of the outside and soft of the packed with loads of moist dough but this didn't really have substance there was a lot of crunch but very little dough, but I must say the chocolate ganache was absolutely spectacular. It's got a chilled vibe maybe I could do a mixed platter with some wine next time I presume that will fair better.
Chantal Le Roux
Love tapas style eating. Their tapas are simple and delicious. The atmosphere outside is really nice and warm! We enjoyed socializing over a few tapas and some wine, could not have enough!

The only downside was the service, the waiters are slow and almost seem not interested. Other than that it was a good experience!
Amy
I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. It's situated in a very vibey little block of restaurants. I love their food options and their food is always flavourful and pleasing to the eye.
Keven Whitehead
Loved the wide array of gin and wine to choose from! Good job done by the waiters Nic & Brothers and lovely reception by Danae and Kels (Dolly Bird).

Hottest restaurant in Pretoria 🔥
Tracy Skellern
Enjoyed the food and will definately return. Waitress was great and helped with recommendations. Loved the Asian squid and the carrots. On the negative side I'd say the tables are too small for all the tapas plates and the sharing concept. The churros were very oily and we didn't enjoy them at all.
GirlvsFood
One of our favourite places to visit. Lovely variety of tapas. Everything tastes wonderful. Service and atmosphere is very pleasant. We often visit for lunch and have never been disappointed.
Chrisna Devenish
Had lunch at this amazing restaurant to celebrate my sister's birthday. Decided on Culture Club based on the amazing Zomato reviews... and was still pleasantly surprised! Everything was exceptional!

We started with the Cognac infused chicken liver paté and stuffed jalapeno poppers, both beautifully presented on wooden boards with freshly baked ciabatta bread. The paté was delicate and smooth...will definitely recommend it!

For mains we ordered the rump with chimichurri, the prawn and chorizo with brava sauce and the Greek sardines, which was one of the specials of the day - the prawn and chorizo was the dish of the day, with the well balanced sauce and snap peas adding a fresh burst of flavour. The rump was well seasoned and prepared medium rare, just like we ordered.

And the best end to the amazing meal was the churros with dark chocolate and orange ganache sauce....crispy, rich and decadent!

Our waiter Justin was great, knew the menu well and served us with such enthusiasm and a kind and humble spirit. They also had trainee waiters who cleared the table, kept our wine glasses full and brought extra bread and refilled the ice bucket, which enhanced the eating experience.
The food was prepared in record time and arrived at the table still hot and smelling magnificent!

We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu...Culture Club is a jewel in The Village! They are true to their motto - Share food and live...in the moment*

So yourself a favour and book a table immediately :)
What more can you ask for then good service great vibe excellent opportunity to spend time with friends. I must say this is one of the best places that I have been in Pretoria. It's almost like being in different world. I will defiantly recommend Culture Club. Something new and modern.
Nadia Barnard
One of the "new kid on the block" establishments in Hazelwood's buzzing The Village development.
All the eateries are spilling over onto the walkways and side streets. Refreshing to see the success of something "new and different" in the capital city.
The food is purposefully plated and served for sharing - which is the spanish-style of eating and jovially congregating after a long day's work.
The "nibbles" of Crispy Garlic & Parsley Squid together with Crumbed Haloumi Bites with Tzatsiki was light and delicately flavoured. The salty crisps for a welcoming-snack prepares your anticipating taste buds for the explosion of flavours.
We moved on to the "mixed plates" of Rump Trinchado with olives and Ciabatta bread and a portion of Prawn & Chorizo Salsa Brava with Sugar Snap Peas.
My favourite was the spicy prawns smothered in a fragrant chorizo and salsa brava sauce (traditionally containing loads of fresh tomato, Paprika - smoked and hot - cooked down into a fierce red condiment); but the crisp sweet sugar snap peas tied the dish together and I will happily offer to scrape the Prawn & Chorizo Salsa Brava pot after service.

Service was average - the chap seemed a little dazed and intimidated; nothing a little training and confidence cannot fix. Just keep an eye out for the water glass and refill that as frequently as the wine.

The buzz is electric and the vibe picked up as the crowd pulled in for "after work eats and drinks".
Parking can be a challenge - although we managed to secure a spot directly behind the restaurant (in a secure-ish spot).

Lovely place for a quick meeting, or a lingering romantic night out among the foodies and hipsters of Pretoria.

A week ago we went to Lima, a tapas restaurant at Monte Casino. Honestly, they can’t really be considered a tapas joint; the portions are just too intricate to align to the casual nature of what tapas is supposed to be. So with a (real) tapas craving, we decided to head out to Hazelwood to check out Culture Club.
Lani Loves Good Food
Late Monday afternoon lunch at Culture Club, and what a delight this place turned out to be! With most restaurant kitchens in The Village closing between 15h00 and 18h00, we were happy to find Culture Club having continued service! This was our first time to at this restaurant, and now I am sorry not to have discovered it earlier!

Decor is laid back with funky tables and jean-covered seating cushions. The outside seating on a late winters' afternoon was a bit chilly, but nothing a jacket couldn't solve. Relaxing atmosphere, I can just imagine the sounds of sax player drifting towards us from a far off corner of the restaurant.

On to the menu... We love eating tapas-style food, so the menu had us quite excited! Many options to choose from, and as usual we went a bit overboard with our order! Chicken liver pate and hummus with pita bread and toasted baguettes, Parmesan chicken strips with a cheese dipping sauce, beef trinchado strips, calamari salad. All so delicious and every bite very tasty and flavourful! The zucchini bites were a bit tender for my liking, but the melted Parmesan on top was a good touch.

Attentive waiters topped off a great lunch experience. Cannot wait to take our friends there and share this newly discovered restaurant with them!

When a consumer calls to make a booking, the person on the receiving end should really understand that she/he becomes the voice of the brand. When I called to make a 7:30pm booking at least 6 hours in advance, the response I received from the manageress was shocking. And that's putting it mild. First she had availability. Then she didn't. Then, she told me I should call back later. I then asked if I could rather leave my details and be placed on the waiting list. She then instructed me to rather come in at around 8:30pm, as i'd certainly get a table then. (But I wanted to book for 7:30). When she did eventually agree to take down my number, she got it wrong all 3 times. I couldn't bare the frustration any longer and proceeded to say my goodbyes. Surprise, surprise, she was long gone and the engaged tone was the only farewell I got. Great first impressions and impeccable manners. If this is the service over the phone, I just can't wait to experience it in person.

What an experience!

First off, let's get the setting straight. Imagine a little crossing filled with culinary delights. Upbeat and upmarket restaurants, bistros, coffee shops and this incredibly smart tapas bar.

Now. The service. We were pleasantly greeted by literally each and every waitron. Thereafter, seated and served by the sweetest and most efficient young lady. It is always refreshing to have such a pleasant experience without a hitch and with several smiles.

After inhaling an entire table filled with food (we thought there would have been much less for some unfathomable reason) and only stopping because we literally couldn't eat anymore, I got an entire bag filled with leftovers to take home. The excitement is real. The smoked salmon with the lemon cilantro was amazingly flavorful and the chicken livers some of the best I've ever had. This is only some of the few delightful dishes we had the pleasure of experiencing!

In conclusion, this is an incredible place to come to. Bring plenty of friends, share the best food, good company and great wine. I can't wait to go back and try out the rest!
Tried this restaurant out for a friends birthday dinner! Had the greatest time- delicious food, beautiful decor, great service. I had an Italian job panini which is filled with delicious meatballs, pesto, bacon, rocket and mozzarella- INCREDIBLE but is huge so perfect for sharing.

Culture Club is a very nice spot. Was there with quite a big group so they allocated 2 waiters to us to speed up service. Food was really good. Would definitely recommend

The best tapas in town! The restaurant is set in the heart of the new restaurant hotspot in Pretoria and is not to be missed! Scrumptious food (generous portions for tapas) and excellent service. We tried the chicken strips, falafel balls, haloumi bites, Charcuterie board, butternut, potato patties and zucchini and everyone loved every bite of everything! The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and they have a good variety of wines to choose from. Be sure to book a table. Very "vibey", we'll definitely be back for more!

Wow what a cool spot with amazing tapas and a chill vibe! Feeling like you are in Spain with boere size portions. The owners are also at the restaurant checking every move of their staff. We will be back!

Nothing beats tapas and wine with family and friends. Thank you Culture Club for giving us the best food, wine and service! We will see you soon.
Very unique. We had a wonderful evening filled with amazing house beats and some Pimms jars round off with good old fashioned cappuccinos. The Panko Parmesan chicken strips and chicken liver pate was out of this world. The cocktail variety wasn't too big and was a little pricey but other than that this place is a must if you want to try something new and at the same time get excellent service and quality food filled with amazing flavours !

Culture Club is nicely situated in Waterkloof's new "restaurant street".

Make a reservation or be there quite early to book a spot. The service is above average and the food is absolutely devine. They also have some interesting wines.

A lovely addition to the neighborhood.

Be sure to visit 😄😄

Ps. Just a pity that the parking is such an issue and car guards make a nuisance of themselves.... But this is a general problem in this area.......

I had a great time here this past weekend with a group of friends. They now have a liquor license and a variety of wines and cocktails, the pimms jug is fantastic.

We all shared a few of the tapas plates, haloumi, chicken strips, dips, meats and cheeses. All of it was delicious and we had a great time.

We wanted to order dessert, but were informes that the kitchen is closed already, I do wish they warned us before the kitchen closed, but we still enjoyed ourselves a lot.

Viby Mediterranean Tapas bar with a modern twist. Great setting in The Village, Hazelwood with a cosy feel to it even though it was a chilly 12 degrees. We were seated outside but the heaters and my company filled the night with warmth and good times. We choose an array of tapas with the highlight being the Tarama having been freshly prepared from in-house recipe. Vibes for dayz love this little gem. Cas

When I heard that there is a new Tapas bar in town , I was super excited. I had the privilege to order on behalf of our group. I ordered so much, almost the entire menu. When the food arrived I was a bit disappointed in some of the portion sizes. I asked for extra pita, since I ordered all the dips on the menu. I was told it was sold out. 15 minutes later, the table behind us got some pitas? I asked our waiter about this and he eventually brought us more pitas. Service was not great. Food was ok. Setting is amazing.

It's my 3rd time going to Culture Club... Never have i been disappointed in them... The food is amazing with all the combinations, and with a glass of wine... Love that the owner is sooo invested in the place and the people coming there. To me it feels like a small cape town suburb, away from all the noise and rush...

This place is a must try/ see / go there!!! Fun atmosphere, and perfect for a quiet, relaxed girls nigh, or just a dinner for 2 with hubby...

Try the Trinchado its out of this world with the lemon and herb spices!!!!!

Absolutely loved this! The concept is fantastic and take the time to chat to the proprietors of this fine establishment to find out what their idea is before judging. Love the meal sizes and believe it is great value for money. The taste is spot on! I wish locals would catch on and support small businesses and individual restaurants more. These are the unique ones that make a foodies dreams come true! Heres to more individuality!

Culture Club is a tapas bar but above all, a contemporary chic meeting place where you can nibble on delicious bites in generous portions and while away the time in elegant surroundings. The owner is a lovely friendly lady.
I had a pomegranate spritzer - fizzy and cool, rather sweet with lemonade. Next time I'll have it with sodawater.
We shared a selection of tapas. All delicious. In particular the Portugese chicken skewer (hint of peri-peri). The steak with chimmichuri was slightly chewy but delicious.
For dessert we had fantastic churros with orangery chocolate sauce and light chocolate mousse. It was divine!

New place popped up in Pretoria and it's amazing!!! We had the bacon wrapped poppers which where delicious and supper hot and dips for starter!! We then stuffed our faces with majority of the tapas from the chops to the prawn and chorizo(a must),mushrooms to the simple Greek salad.

Go give this place a try...it's totally worth it!!

Lovely venue. Such a pretty restaurant. Expect to ring up a (well worth it) hefty bill. Between two of us we shared 4 tapas plus churros for dessert. The pan fried haloumi was delicious. The herb crusted fish goujons were my favorite. So crisp and the fish so fresh. The cheese sauce that comes with the Parmesan chicken strips was so cheesy. Churros for dessert were so light and crisp and went so well with the orange chocolate sauce. Come early or book a table as it gets really packed here! Our server, Ettiene, was really sweet and service was really quick.

Food was amazing. The best Hummus ever. All the dips were Divine. New hang out in Pta. Portion sizes of food are still nice to fill for tapas bar. Ambience and decor is stunning with a lovely vibe.

Churros #wintercheats#yummy
