Best food I have ever eaten. I like my steak well done and it was well done and not dry at all. My new favourite restaurant. Will recommend to everyone.
Service was the best I've had, from the time we walked in until we were finished with our meal. We asked to speak to the manager just to let him know how pleased we were with our server, Michael's attention to our needs.
The oxtail was absolutely out of this world. Could be eaten with a fork only. Thanks to our waiter JP, service was impeccable. Will definitely be back.

Fiona was an absolute God-send. Fantastic, friendly service. The food was phenom. Had the sticky sweet, melt-of-the-bone spare ribs. Never have i ever had anything that blatantly disregard the laws of bone-to-muscle adhesion like that. Flawless!
Really a great venue for a delicious fish dinner. I had the prawns in lemon butter sauce with half portion of rice and chips, and a side dish of creamed spinach. What a delightful combination it turned out to be. Ended with a well made skinny cuppacino. Good attentative waitering and the busy restaurant had a nice Friday night vibe of happy diners.
I have always had amazing service and great food at this branch. Their Kingklip is a must and the garlic bread is also to die for :) will definitely go back

The food is very satisfying prepared well and good portion size.
The first thing you will notice about Crawdaddy's (besides the slightly eccentric decor) is the sheer variety of food to choose from; from steaks to seafood, burgers to waffles; potjies, chowders and everything in between! Its quite overwhelming in the beginning, however you very quickly find your way around as it is well structured. You can't go wrong with 90% of the choices on the menu but there are one or two things that just should've never appeared on a menu (i.e. Bovril Bruschetta).
All in all this is a great restaurant, the service can be a bit slow at times, but the atmosphere is always vibey so that makes up for it.
Great atmosphere. The food portions were massive! Had to take a doggy bag. Love that we had a (large) snack the next day. Food took a while but it was quite busy.
I love the food at Crawdaddys Waterkloof Glen but to wait up to 45 minutes for food every time we go there is unacceptable. Lots of other restaurants have just as good quality food and they are just as busy yet the food is out in 20 minutes. Must say I lose my appetite when I have to wait so long.

Crawdaddy's is definitely famous for their seafood but the chicken chowder is not to be missed.

Good food, a lively atmosphere and very friendly service! The menu is quite reasonable regarding prices and has something for every craving. I would recommend the grilled chicken breasts - juicy yet cooked to perfection.

Crawdaddy's currently have six other offerings (that I know of): Brooklyn, Menlyn, Centurion, Silverlakes, Rustenburg and Tzaneen, and is a franchise that boasts twenty (20) years experience, but this is the first branch that I have visited.
Crawdaddy's motto: "For Great Seafood, Steaks and Asian Fusion Foods". I am going to begin with the fact that to offer Asian on the menu at a pub and steakhouse is an unusual mix but their steaks were good. Their prawns come from India, their oysters from Lüderitz (Namibia)and there are a lot of crab dishes on the menu so I really should have asked where they come from..

*We were served by Matthew, our knowledgable and helpful waiter who gave us some of the BEST service that I have received anywhere ever in Pretoria so a notable mention to him!*

Brendan Linder and I love to come here for impromptu dates and we get take aways from here quite frequently. The ambience of the outside deck is romantic and dazzling . The service NEVER disappoints and this is definitely one of the best run restaurants in Pretoria. I always get the vegetarian curry which is so wholesome, tasty and makes for at least 3 meals. The creme caramel is sensational and deserves to be boasted about. ☺️
By far my favorite restaurant of all time!! I mostly eat the Lamb Korma Curry which is amazing. The rump with jalapeño cheese sauce is also divine. Service has always been outstanding.

First time at Crawdaddys! Nice atmosphere. We had the salmon carpaccio and the salmon bruschetta as appetizer and the chicken curry and fillet with camembert as main, very tasty! The waiter gave some good advice on which draught beer to choose. I had the cream ale which was very good.
I had seafood, and the Calamari was divine. Oysters fresh and fantastic The other guests all had steak and it received rave reviews from everyone.(meduim rare was meduim rare ect). Its very reasonably priced.
One huge complaint was the waitress - she just couldn't care. I looked around on two occasions for her. The steaks were just - steak and chips nothing more (No veggies offered?) Sorry that be bothered you during lunch time.

Got there early and thought its not a busy thursday, but it got very busy. Service was great from the waitress, and all 3 courses we had was brilliant, will be back very soon!!
Very busy and very loud during lunch hours in the week, buzzing with employees from nearby companies enjoying a pub lunch, especially on a Friday afternoon. Don't go if you want a quiet romantic meal..
The Sloppy Joe burger was cooked to perfection, definitely ranked as one of my all time favorite burgers
Finally had my first Crawdaddy's experience. I had been on the hunt for the perfect steak and finally found it. Had the fillet and it lived up to all of my expectations. Juicy and soft. Perfectly done.
The rest of the table had burgers which also received double thumbs up.

Had a unplanned sunday dinner. Probarly the best green curry prawns I have ever had. Even had some left over for a very impressive lunch the next day. The portions were generous and well priced. Will be back for sure.

April 13th. Attended a dinner celebrating my sisters birthday. An absolutely amazing experience once again. You never seem to disappoint. Was my sisters 3rd year in a row celebrating her birthday there and i always know why. The food was excellent, i had 1kg of queen prawns to die for. Most tender and juicy prawns i have ever had. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had an outstanding evening. Had great service from our waiter Jonty i believe, who even organised a sparkle thing for my sister. Had good service from the managers and other staff. Have been coming there for years and will always be back for more. Best seafood restaurant around town in my opinion.

Always a pleasure coming to this spot in Waterglen Shopping Centre, Pretoria East. Friendly waiters and always making sure you are happy. Food always enough and refreshers always full. Pity the waiting queue is always long. Well done guys, keep going.
What an awesome wine pairing evening with Neethlingshof Wine Estate, thanks Zomato for the invite 😉. My favourite wine was the welcome drink unwooded Chardonnay 🍷. My favourite dish was the main course of fillet medallions done to my liking medium rare 😋 with Halloumi and capers and served with a mushroom sauce. Our glasses were always topped up and the waiters were very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with some wine education and amazing cuisine.
This what quite the experience,invited by Zomato for a wine pairing experience and what a true delight. The menu was so well balanced with the food paired so meticulously with the wine. My favorite pairing has to be the chicken curry and six flowers the wine. I also enjoyed the single vineyard...
Great ambiance very good service we had a cheese mushroom steak A SPECIAL ...this was MEDIUM RARE perfect first time around very very appetising. I recommend them COMPLETELY .
Lunch at Crawdaddy's. Nice place to eat. Had the Chicken Schnitzel with Cheese Sauce and it was really good; nice flavour and not dry. Did not really like the fries they served with it. My companion had the Hot Thai Green Prawn Curry and it smelled like heaven. Nicely presented in a "potjie" with rice on the side. Personally I like a Prawn Curry with the prawns de-shelled, but it just looked so much more interesting the way it was served here. Overall a good place to eat with matching service.
I tried the Crawdaddy's in Silverlakes before and it seems like a completely different outlet. I much much prefer this branch.
I had the sticky ribs (on my quest to find good ribs) and they were great. Boyfriend had a chicken curry - also tasty and fragrant. Huge portions. Awesome staff. Overall a fantastic evening! Will only visit this branch again.

For the most part we live frequenting this restaurant for the great food and the lekker atmosphere. The Transylvania steak with mash is my favourite and the crème Brule for desert. When it gets busy the service is a little bit slow but not beyond reason. I can say that the biltong bruschetta is not a dish I would order again.

What a pleasant experience! Service was excellent! Food was even better. The Moroccan beef strips will bring me back again and again. The atmosphere is relaxing and rustic. Menu is very diverse.
This must be my favourite everyday restaurant. I have never had anything or heard of anyone whose had anything bad on the menu. All the food items are spectacular. The portions are big and you are guaranteed to go home with a doggy bag.
Be sure to book a table as it gets full quickly even on some idle Tuesday night . This is a place where you can start your evening and have such a fantastic time that you wont realize where the time went.
The prawns are by far the best i have ever had. The chowders are also highly recommended.

Always have a great time here. Good hearty seafood and fresh Oysters. The Springbok snails is something that has to be tried. Pretty much everything I've tried has been good. Plus very reasonable when it comes to corkage.

Crawdaddy's Garsfontein is the best restaurant in it's class in Pretoria, if not in South Africa. I have yet to visit a place here in the RSA with waiters hurrying faster between table & kitchen. Tables are being cleared continually by waiters walking past. Clearly this Crawdaddy's is well managed.
Tasty food, huge portions - our take aways last night fed two grown children at home.
Fresh oysters were deliciously plump.
My Crab curry: a tremendous effort, not for the faint hearted or squeamish. One has to break the claws open to get to the meat. But it was succulent with a sweetish coconut & tomato curry. Lovely fine basmati rice & cripy poppadums.
The Bombay trio - three different curries of lamb, chicken and seafood each in it's own sauce -is a meal fit for a king. A huge portion but unbelievably good.
Be sure to visit Crawdaddy's Garsfontein but remember to come starved!

So I've been to Crawdaddys a few times in my life.. nothing worth writing about, good everything. BUT a few weeks back Me and my husband went to Crawdaddy's Garsfontein. and IT BLEW OUR MINDS!
We were welcomed, had some delicious wine and then the feast began..
We ate the most succulent, freshest lobster ever!! 2kg of meat with just the right spices and sauces, they even brought us prawns, salad AND veggies on top of that!
I can honestly say this place has the best service I've experienced!! friendly waiters that actually know whats going on, and they go out of their way to make your night amazing!
We were so impressed! We even went back for a quick lunch!

By far the best Crawdaddy's I've been to.Crawdaddy's menu offer a wide variety of dishes and their house specials are some of the best in town. If I had to recommend one dish and drink, it would be their ribs and chocolate milkshakes, in my opinion the best in town.Their food is affordable and portions the best for their respective price. The serves I have received at some of the other branches was lagging, but I have never received poor service at the Garsfonetin branch.One of my restaurant of choice.

This is just the kind of place that keeps bringing you back. With a menu thats keeps you excited with its wide variety of choices, its never boring! The food is generally american themed ranging from amazing chowders to great seafood and steaks. There are also delicious curries, both indian and thai. The service is always good, with friendly interactive waiters. If you ever have to wait long for food, its not a problem because the vibe is usually good and its always worth it. Its like home, i just keep going back!

An evening to remember! The warm inviting candlelight provided an intimate atmosphere in an otherwise busy restaurant (although some more light to appreciate the gorgeous food would have been nice).
The New Orleans Oysters were delicious. Beautiful smoked salmon with a tangy cucumber tomato salsa, sour cream and chives topped the fresh delectable oyster. I will not admit to licking the shell...
The Magic Mushroom Bruschetta lived up to its name. Absolutely stunning. Full of flavour and a great combination of textures.
The Peri-Peri Portuguese Chicken Livers were to die for. Each bite melts in your mouth. Don't get me started on that sauce!
The Famous Crab Curry. It is obviously famous for a reason! A full experience of the senses. The gorgeous crab bathed in a fragrant mouth-watering curry sauce served with crispy poppadoms, rice and chilli bites. Be prepared to have sauce running down your arms, this is definitely not recommended for first dates! This meal takes some real work digging the crab meat from the shell. I suggest getting a group together to enjoy this well earned treat otherwise someone will be left watching the others eat for at least another hour after their meal. The portions are huge so I don't recommend starters or dessert when choosing this option, although takeaways for the next day are always a treat.
The Lamb Korma Curry blew me away! It was bursting with flavour. The lamb was so tender, it just melts in your mouth. This meal was definitely one for the books. Put it on your bucket list!
The Salted Caramel and the Peppermint Crisp milkshakes! I am not a milkshake person, I may even despise them, but I have officially been converted. The thick, creamy texture coats your mouth in the most soul-comforting way. It is full of real flavour, not that cheap nasty goop places usually squirt in there.
Crawdaddy's has served me the best meals I have ever eaten. If you're in need of some good food that makes you grateful to be alive, this is for you.

Unfortunately I do need to mention that my boyfriend did not enjoy his rump steak, it was underdone, cold and lacked any flavour. It pains me that he did not have as much of a positive experience as I did.
Always great food coming with a nice and cosy atmosphere on a cold winter night. Definitely recommended for taking that special person on a date or having a dinner with the family. They cater for all.
I got introduced to Crawdaddies by a friend some time ago. The atmosphere and décor are unique. The food are absolutely the best. A wide variety of meat and seafood are available, as well as a large range of local wines featured on their menu.
The restaurant has a nice deck and is fabulous in summer, but in winter they normally close the awnings which helps a lot.
The staff is friendly, efficient and it is always a pleasure to see Chris (Owner). It is definitely value for money and i have never had anything to complain about. Crawdaddies is definitely one of the top restaurant list on my list.
This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. There is always service with a smile and the food is fantastic.

I love this place, this is the ONLY Crawdaddies my husband Wil go to, he says they are the best and refuses to go to any other franchise.
We come here often with friends and family, I usually have the Mike Killians Curried Prawns - I love it, and usually have a hard time on deciding to order something ells.
But I have had the seafood chowder, it was amazing, the.seafood curry, also a favorite, and then the must try for everyone atleast ONCE is the Crab Curry!
I had this on my birthday and it was a unique experience, you actually get a apron and a nut cracker thing, ant then the crab is semi whole, then you break through the shell and legs to get to the meat.
It us really Yummmmmmy but it takes time, so have the others at the table prepared for a long meal.
The best thing about Crawdaddies for me is that I can have seafood and my husband steak, they haven't perfect blend of foods for everyone.
I also had my first oyster here, very fresh.

We decided to give this place a try for a date and man were we blown away! The oyesters were fresher than most durban seafood stores that ive been to and the garlic and cheese roll was just decadent, both starters were decently priced for how much you get (a lot). The mains were even more so amazing, a special on 1 kg ribs for just 135 and they were filling to the point of third breakfast while my meal, the jalapeno and cheese snitchzel was nothing i could ever imagine. The meal was a burst of flavour of fresh slow cooked chicken and the jalapenos made the entire meal! We also tried out the chokolate dessert and it was a pleasure to eat, the meal melts in your mouth leaving hints of caramel amd biscuit after the light and fluffy chocolate melts. Service was also on the spot and we were seated in the corner which had cut us off from a lot of resturuant noises , leaving our evening to be nothing less of a romantic date . Be prepared for a large bill though, you will forget how much you order due to the wonderful tastes and excitements of trying out different meals.
Best steak in town. Their cheese and jalapeño sauce was amazing and so good I order it everytime I go back. Service was outstanding. Always have a good time here.

Service and foodwise better than its brooklyn counterpart. I had the curry and it came in a small potjie which was cute. The flavours were delicious but the cut of meat used was very fatty and full of cartlidge. The waiters are very friendly and attentive but it is a little bit over priced. Otherwise everyone had a good time and the foods all came on time and together.

This gem of a pub-based restaurant has all the trimmings required for a family experience. There are two aspects of a restaurant that will want you to come back for more - the food and the service. The owners and managers of Crawdaddy's in Garsfontein have instilled this into their waiters and their chefs.
The taste of the food that returns from their kitchens is only matched by the service provided by all the waiters. It was unfortunate that the batch of Malva pudding was not up to scratch - as confessed by the manager herself. However, the Dom Pedros more than made up for the loss of a South African iconic dessert.

We found this restaurant on Zomato. From the reviews it looked like an interesting option, so we made the long trip to try it out.
On arrival we were greeted by a friendly waiter plus they had "pram friendly access" into the restaurant. We later discovered they even had baby changing facilities. Awesome.
We sat on the covered balcony over looking the car park. Pity it wasn't a garden or a dam instead of a busy car park.
There was a friendly atmosphere to the restaurant though. The only gripe I have is the tables are crazy close to each other. Definitely not an intimate table arrangement unless you call sitting all but shoulder to shoulder to other guests, intimate?
Our waiter was very helpful & friendly. He paid us a great deal of attention & enhanced our visit. He even told us about the four hour exam he had to write before he could wait tables.
The calamari starter was tasty. Not awesome but no complaints. The peri peri sauce however was brilliant & believe it or not it was fantastic on the calamari, the chips & the onion rings.
My wife & I both had spare ribs & they were really yummy. I'd recommend them for sure. If also recommend the onion rings. They great.
We gave desert a miss as we were pretty full but the Amarula Pedro's & expresso' were delicious.
Overall we had a great lunch at a very pleasant restaurant and one we enjoyed very much.
This restaurant is more than your average pub lunch.
Its busy, loud, and down to earth. The food is hearty and tasty, especially the steaks that are beyond pub grub standard. Its a friendly joint that is unpretentious and you will really get a bang for your buck. The food is a little generic but it is a chain restaurant so that is to be expected. I generally go with a large group of family that are looking to have some fun and we usually do.
This is one of the best places to eat in South Africa. Period. Love the food, great service. Prices are affordable and you do get bang for your buck.

Crawdaddy's Brooklyn is great for a group of people. The vibe is busy, hectic and noisy - but it's great fun.
The food portions are huuuuuge and deeeelicious! And also well-priced.
Service is good and the decor is rustic.
We had battered deep-fried squid heads, chicken schnitzel, a burger and 'Crawchows' - Roasted spud skins, bacon pieces smothered with mozzarella, cheddar cheese, salsa, avo dip and a jalapeño. Oh my gosh, this is definitely a nice dish to share with friends. And the onion rings ...
On 18 November 2014 we had lunch again at the Brooklyn Crawdaddy's. The onion rings superb! Hein had a jalapeno cheese bacon burger with chips. My word, that sauce is just soooo good!!!!
I had the starter portion (R69) of Cannelloni Calamari filled with spinach, feta & haloumi (although one can't taste the haloumi), smothered in Mozzarella cheese and swimming in a tomato sauce. Goodness, this was a HUGE portion!!!! And sooo yummy!!!!!
Then I had to end of my meal with something sweet ... they call it a cold chocolate dessert (can't remember exactly how they spelled it ... Chokalate ...) Its choc mousse layered with marie biscuits in a form, served with a Maraschino cherry and juice. Heaven!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely the perfect size dessert, not too sweet, but oh so heavenly!!!!!!
Prices are really reasonable and portions huge!! Grab a few friends and go and visit the Brooklyn branch.
Although not the greatest cuisine I have ever sampled, Crawdaddy's is a great place for friends and family to have a fun yet affordable night out. The portions are very generous and the quality of the food is good. The menu is varied and there are lot of items that you will not find elsewhere. In my opinion, the best ribs in Pretoria......By Miles!!!. The service is always excellent. Go tonight, you will not be disappointed.
It's an amazing place the food is great, the manager is brilliant, even thou we had a small oopsie with the ice cream he really gave such a great service for something so small I can definitely overlook it.
It's just the way he handled it brilliant service. Overall, the food was amazing damn porkchops are a winner. I might would recommend perhaps getting some more local beer in the restaurant, especially on the tap. Perhaps look at devils peak pale ale, etc, the comrcial beer it doesn't work nice with dishes, if you want want them both to stand out the devils peak pale ale it would bring some flavor to the food while you drink and eat as well just an idea. Would love to see more local support on the alcohol part as some places are already starting it up and make's a huge difference in taste.

Great service. Manager and staff went out of their way to accommodate us after closing due to a very late ending show. Service like this is hard to find. Well done team.

This is our go to restaurant, since we know we always get great service and incredible delicious food here. I love their seafood and am never disappointed, while my husband loves their steak. It is most definitely value for money. Not really toddler/kid friendly, so rather go here for a date night.
There is no better place to enjoy GREAT seafood and company! The Waiters are all so friendly and the service is top class. Booking is the best option if you want to secure your spot. The food is most definitely worth the price. Always looking forward to visit this gem!
We had a big group of people celebrating a birthday in the midst of yet another "Load sharing" which determined the unavailability of certain dishes and the serve time. The waiters were attentive, helpful and friendly, managing to keep most people happy.
We had a variety of dishes (of course!)-oxtail, steak, and may other dishes. Everything was well prepared, and served hot.
Great place. We were told that everything on the menu was excellent. The sea food and curries we had were all great. Service was great too. Large parking space outside. Nice setting inside and can get quite packed in evenings. Early reservations recommended!
Fantastic. You have got the most awesome staff. Each and everyone greeted us as we were led to our table. Haven't seen that in years. Bruce our server knew the menu and was quick to assist us on any of our questions. Had a sense of humor and didn't seem to be making fake conversation and was genuinely attentive. Food was amazing and very affordable. Well done to the management and staff
Food was excellent, great place for date night.
Yummy food, lovely service. Absolutely would go again. I had the nachos starter and the crab chowder. Both delicious. They do give you a bib for the crab chowder and you need it but what fun. Only criticism is that I would have preferred a finger bowl to refresher towels to deal with the messy hands.

The portions are fantastic and the food is great. Highly recommend their double chocolate milkshake too (it was so good I didn't have time to even snap a pic)
Must be one of the largest restaurants Ive ever seen in terms of seating capacity. The menu has a large selection of food too, with interesting options and combinations. Food portions were generous and neither my wife or I completely finished it.
We haven't been to Crawdaddys Waterglen for a long time and it was as good as ever. The restaurant is a character place and the staff is attentive and friendly. The menu is extensive and caters for all tastes. The preparation and display was excellent. We had an fantastic meal and would have no hesitation in recomending this restaurant
