The monkey gland sauce tasted more like a tomato gravy. Average service considering the waiter didn't even tell us his name and we got served by at least 3 alternating waiters. The burger saved the day nonetheless.
Burger Bistro must be one of those places that I would have to say GO TRY IT OUT! Their burgers are amazing and so are their shakes. If you up for the challenge, there is a burger or should I say a tower of a burger (5 patties with cheese, bacon and, and, and) with chips and a drink. If you are able to devour this, (in one sitting, no time limit) you get to keep a Burger Bistro Steak Knife. I have not yet had the guts to try it out but I did see someone attempting it. This place is kids friendly. Go ahead and take your kids for a great burger experience
Great ambience and the best burgers in Pretoria. One of my favourites is the cheese and bacon burger. Ingredients are fresh, tasty chips and the peanut butter milkshake is absolutely delicious.

By far one of thr best burger joints in town. A little bit cramped and dark for eating in but the takeaways are always delicious. Interesting burgers that are always lovingly prepared. Portions are very big so definitely good value for money.
This place is a must. It's worth it. The burgers are HUGE and so good. The meat in the patties are pure beef. The service is friendly and the beer is cold. What more could you want?

Initial vibe: (+). I was fired up, I was starving and I just wanted a decent burger. Staff were pumped and the cashier was friendly and greeted me with a HUGE smile.
Food: (+) I ordered the standard ( I like ordering the basic burgers) which comes in at R58 and comes with a decent amount of chips. Probably one of the nicest, tastiest burgers that I’ve had in a long time. You can order it anyway you want, I asked for a bit of pink. It wasn’t drenched in sauce and you can taste the actual meat. The bun was perfect and fresh as well as the garnishes.
The burger filled the bun and the bun was big.
Drinks: (+). I was boring and had a can of coke.......nothing special this time.
Value: (+) Nothing is cheap nowadays, but I paid the R58 for my burger and chips with a smile on my face. It was really worth it.
Overall vibe: (+) Loved it. My only qualm was that the fries had a bit too much seasoning salt on it, but seriously…….this is a great little spot that makes a great burger.

Finally paid a visit to Burger Bistro after almost a year of wanting to do so. Son in tow we made our way there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and were warmly greeted and ushered to a table. Their milkshakes are legendary so I had to try one out. The Peanut Butter shake is worth al the rave, as are their burgers. Large beef patties and so many combos of burgers. One almost doesn't know what to choose. I enjoyed the Godfather & my son couldn't finish his Bacon & Cheese burger. Their chips are yummy too. Perfectly fried!
They also serve alcohol & after that carb fest I needed a glass of wine to aid in the digestion & so I enjoyed a glass of their house (Robertson) white.
Also the service is fantastic. Friendly, relaxed and yet also quick & attentive.
It's a little far out from where I live so returning may be difficult but would certainly recommend it to any Pretoria resident as a 'must try'!

A place of dreams...
For many years I have listened to stories from my father about the old Road houses that used to populate Jo'burg and surrounds. I remember not believing him because I had never experienced a burger as great as he described.
Then I found Burger Bistro and man did I see I was wrong. From the minimalistic interior to the interesting menu design I knew it was going to be something special.
I was there with my girlfriend and we both eagerly ordered milkshakes. The tiramisu milkshake reminded me of my favorite dessert through and through while the coffee milkshake took me to heaven.
Then the burgers arrive. Large and in charge they sit on the plate. At first I thought it was too big but the alluring taste had us eating every crumb.
The chips are usually what suffer when burgers are so good. I am glad to say this was not the case making the entire meal as delectable as it was beautiful.
It was so good in fact I went back the very next day with my family. My dad was happy too as Burger Bistro successfully reminded him of his favorite Road houses from the old days.
A must try for anyone who can get there. It may not look like much but sometimes it is when we least expect it that magic happens.

This is the place to go if you want an honest-to-goodness delicious burger and proper chips, with a gourmet milkshake for dessert. Their burgers range from plain toppings (cheese or mushroom sauce, you get the idea...) to outrageous and creative inventions like the Elvis Presley burger, topped with peanut butter. I have yet to have a bad meal here, and the value for money is great.
What a splendid time we had at Burger Bistro last night. After rushing in at 20:50 (the kitchen closes at 21:00) we were wellcomed friendly and served speedily. Craft Beers appeared almost immediately: Darling Sun Gazer and Jack Black Brewer.
My Speedy Conzalez Burger was delicious - gigantic and loaded with Emmenthaler spiked with Jalapeno. Potato chips, medium cut, cooked well and turning "slap" when in contact with burger juices.

Best Burgers in Pretoria! Whenever my husband and I have a craving for burgers Burger Bistro is always our first choice. There are many reasons for this choice and I will provide you with a few.
1. Value for money - Here you can expect to get more than you pay for. Their burgers are gigantic. I can never finish a meal in one go, even my husband finds it hard to clear his plate.
2. Taste - The giant fluffy white bun, the perfectly cooked patty, the fresh garnish, the creamy cheese sauce, the crispy fries all of these ingredients come together to create a feast in your mouth.
3. Friendly attentive staff and lekker vibe - The red and black theme together with the old vinyl records for place mats, Volkswagen Beetle bonnets against the walls makes you feel like you are part of the movie Grease. The staff are always friendly and ready to serve.
If you decide to visit this restaurant I would recommend you have the cheese burger, the cheese sauce are out of this world. For something sweet try one of their milkshakes, the old school yummyness will not disappoint.
My recommendations for this restaurant would be to consider installing an air-con, it gets quite hot inside with the open planned kitchen. I would also create a separate queue for take away customers, to make the place feel less crowded.

May I have a round of applause for this awesome reinvented Burger Restaurant, in the "hartjie" of the Moot. What blows my mind is that there use to be a Burger Take-Away right before Burger Bistro took over, but nothing can compare the 2 with one another. Perhaps it is the Retro Decor or the Classic Tunes of the 80's playing in the background, or could it be the Amazeballs, Ginormous Burgers, wait now I know...it is the "Peanut Butter Milkshake" first of his kind, parents be aware it is not drugs your children will get hooked on but this, this mouthwatering Peanut-Butter Milkshake. To all my Vegetarian Friends, please feel free to ask for the "Gandhi Burger" it is not listed on the menu but they accommodate even the Mushroom, Haulomi and Basil Pesto Eaters as well.
WOW! We went to Burger Bistro based on reviews and we were not disappointed!! The burgers are HUGE! (and worth the wait!) with handcut chips... Milkshakes are delicious too! We went on a Friday evening and it was busy, so I suggest reserving a table, but they do, do takeaways!

I have been to Burger Bistro probably 10 times now, and I've never had the same burger twice! That's not to say I wouldn't have them again. I'd have them all again, but each option just sounds so delicious. The Naas Botha (biltong) burger is a personal favourite and top of the list to try again once I've had all the options
The restaurant has a cool retro vibe, with car parts and art on the walls, and vinyl records as placemats. It also serves a few different (bottled) craft beers, which are well worth trying.
Portion sizes are very generous - a hearty burger & bun comes accompanied by a rich sauce and a lot of chips! You won't be hungry after you've eaten here!
The restaurant is quite small - so if you're a large group, make sure to book in advance!

Burger Bistro is definitely one of my new favourite places to dine! The short, 10 minute drive from Hatfield is far enough to let you escape the busy student life surrounding campus. We were greeted with smiles from all staff members, and were made to feel right at home in the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. Burger Bistro offer a great lunch time deal - a bacon and cheese burger and and milkshake for under R60. Definitely worth giving it a try!
Every time we go here we leave happy! Their burgers are great, with awesome toppings and sauces. I had the Elvis this time (peanutbutter sauce and bacon) and the boyfriend had the Naas Botha (biltong and biltong sauce). The peanutbutter sauce wasn't overpoweringly peanut tasting and was a nice and thick sauce. The biltong sauce is also tasty and salty with looots of biltong. He said this wasn't his favourite burger he has had there as he is a blue cheese fan and liked the Sugarman more but was still a great burger. The bread is fresh and the toppings even fresher - nothing to complain about. Out waiter was extremely friendly and a delight to work with. They also added some interesting milkshakes since we've last been there, we tried the creme brulee one - nice but not wow :)

Never disappointing! Simply...the way burgers should always be, large, made of real meat, tasty and accompanied by gorgeous rustic, hand-cut chips. The craft beers are great too and the staff friendly and inviting! Not to mention the decor that has your selfie tendencies on high at all times!
I have never seen such a big burger menu in my life. Burger Bistro certainly takes the award for most burger variety in Pretoria. I had a burger with cheese, avocado and bacon. It was comically big when it arrived and I didn't manage to finish it. It's a pity that it's a bit far out but if you're up for discovering a new burger place then I recommend it.
If you want to be adventurous, then this place is for you. They have a secret burger which is amazing and not even to mention the other tasty burgers they serve. Awesome food and cosy.
Service was excellent and the smoked T-Bone was super and great value for money. One of our party had the Naas Botha burger which was drop kicked down without any hassles.
Another replaced their patty with a chicken breast which was succulent and tender.

I had the Mr Miyagi burger which is a fabulously juicy homemade 200g beef patty slathered in a wasabi mayo with fresh mushrooms and rocket. The boyfriend attempted to conquer the double burger for the second time (after it beat him the last time), his manhood rested on it.
Interesting milkshake menu. Peanut butter and kiwi milkshakes were good. Service is good too.
We then proceeded to spend the rest of the afternoon recovering from the huge meal. No dinner necessary!

It was with great anticipation that I watched the work in progress almost 3 years ago. I was new in the Neighborhood and so was Burger Bistro. I recall being there the first night and believe me it was a dilemma choosing between the very refreshing flavours with equally interesting names.
I can recommend the Marilyn Monroe, Speedy Gonzales, Miss piggy ah heck I can recommend all the burgers. Don't be intimidated if it is your first time. The flavours are beautifully paired and with a decent patty and enough chips to make any man happy you will return time and time again.
Personally I found the atmosphere slightly less authentic than what I am sure the owner envisaged, a bigger outside area would have been advantageous, but the great quality and value for money makes me return time and time again. I would recommend going with a crowd but do book in advance as they are packed over the weekends.
Arguably Burger Bistro has the best burgers in the Moot and it would be interesting to see how they keep this quality with the expansion of more shops in other areas.

Massive burgers and great value for money! Nice retro kind of vibe and actually warm despite how it looks from the old outside. It took a while for the waiter to notice us but it's a pleasant enough environment to wait in. Yummy hazelnut milkshake and burgers big enough to take some home for later.

Absolutely the best gourmet burgee place in town if not on this continent. I have had almost all the burgers on the menu and not one was not better than the other. There burgers is a must if you're in the area. I would personally recomend the naas botha or the dirty harry if not dinning on a date (it is buried under garlic), or if you're up for it try to challenge there dubble burger, as they say you wouldn't know to eat it or to climb it.

Wonderful burgers in a nice funky restaurant!
I love these burgers. They are large, delicious, cheap, and every bite leaves you wanting more. The restaurant itself has a casual funky vibe, leaving all their diners laid back and content. The staff is very helpful, efficient, and totally non-intrusive. We asked to share our burgers and they actually halved it for us, with each half topped with a tomato ;) Even the chips are sectioned for us, definitely great in preventing any fight for the last chip!
There are quite a bit of burgers to choose from, and my veg friend is Very impressed with the veg option. My favourite part about my burger is that they thoughtfully put the generous helping of (the super flavourful) sauce on the side. This makes us slow-eaters get to devour the burger at our own pace without the sauce drowning everything with it. The chips are also crispy and delicious, but I had to dab off the excess oil to soothe my guilty conscience.

Burger bistro has the best burgers in Pretoria if not Gauteng. The restaurant is really funky and fun and I recommend that you should try this place out. It's worth the drive!
These are generously portioned hunger buster burgers with an extravagant range of flavours. Enjoy your chosen tasty fare amidst the fun, American icon themed, but very down to earth restaurant. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful too. Interestingly, they also have an old Pac man video game which seems to work. Next visit I will make time to try it out
The place is okay and not too busy. I ordered burgers, and they all come with fries. I enjoyed their burger and wouldn't compare their burger size with any other place as they are really big. I don't want to comment on the atmosphere as I opted for a take out meal, which was my plan to begin with. Worth giving a try.
What a nice burger. If you are a burger lover, definitely go to a burger bistro, do not hesitate. On Wednesdays, they have an all you can eat slider special, not excluding any burger on the menu. Best burgers in Waverley.

Best burgers in and around Pretoria. You best place your order before arrival for takeaways to avoid waiting for long. Otherwise great place with the best BIG burgers. Downside is that there's only a very small restroom that can only accommodate 1 person at a time. Miss Piggy burger is perfect if you like a giant burger for Reeeeeeeeal Bad Man 😀
Arrived at this spot early on a Sunday morning before the restaurant opened, however the service we received was exceptional. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was friendly and professional. The food tasted great.
The burgers are by far the best I've had ,but me burger bistro and UberEATS are fighting,first order cancelled because UberEATS took time to process my order since I ordered @ 20:00 it only go received @ 20:30 meaning they couldn't process and deliver the order, luckily I got my refund,then Monday I made another request from @ 13:10 n my order arrived 35 minutes before my ETA n I wasn't in the house for my order id headed out to buy a soother for the burger ,then again luckily UberEATS headed my cry n I got my refund 😭 wouldn't hurt visiting in-store very soon

Huuuuuge burger … and I really mean HUGE!! Great value for money. Awesome choices. You can even “create” your own burger. I had a Hawaiian with extra cheddar. Delicious. Interesting decor. Background music was bit too loud for me, but otherwise it was awesome. Entertainer app customers will love it - such a pity they closed down in The Village.
The BEST burgers in the universe!! They have a large variety of different burgers to cater for everyone's likes. Their service is good. They are a unique restaurant and perfect for the whole family. Try out the weird burgers too, they will not disappoint.
Amazing service, and the food was absolutely delicious, we wanted to try something different, so we tried Ox Tail Burger, our very first time, it was way beyond my expectations, and the chips💯, will definitely be back to try the pulled pork burger. 💯💯💯
First time dining at Burger Bistro, can honestly say it was the greatest burger I’ve had in a long time. The whole place is 80’s inspired and the menu options get you laughing. So many choices, only one stomach!
A burger will set you back at around R85-R100. But they a super generous with the toppings, the patty is quite big and really well prepared. Medium-Rare - well done if you prefer. Definitely a go to for your burger fix.
