Review Golden Coast Taiwanese Restaurant - Port Elizabeth

The waitress told us that there's a new chef, so the flavor had changed, but the overall experience was still fine. Their Chinese sake was very good, quite strong but highly recommended. The waitress was very friendly. However, the male manager (I think?) and the female cashier had some physical bullying and verbal arguments while I was leaving. I'm not sure what happened there, but it was traumatic to see the staff members crying due to work related violence.

They do authentic Asian dishes here. I am 110% happy with this place, and I feel right at home. The people working there are friendly and speedy with service. Ordered 7-10 dishes of food for a round table (sitting 11 guests) and we got our food 20 minutes later in intervals of 5-10 minutes in between (a few dishes at a time). The manager was caring and came in to check whether we were in need of anything. Although the food portions look small in the beginning, I can say with guarantee that you will leave this place with a full tummy. Their food is absolute divine. I don’t think there is another Asian/Taiwanese restaurant that cooks better and has more authentic food than this restaurant. The best part of it all is that their pricing is affordable!! The inside decor, although looks old and dusty, adds to the atmosphere. I feel like I’m in a restaurant in an Asian country. Lovely decor, latern lights and chinese paintings all over the place. However, a recommendation would be to add more lights inside. It tends to get quite dark in the building, especially as the evening comes which makes it’s difficult to read the menus. Adding more light sources in the restaurant will definitely improve the ratings of this place!

Place has been around for a long while. It has been made smaller over the years. But they have delicious meals. All I can say is that it would be nice if t could get an upgrade

These guys are so Chinese and love their restaurant. It beat covid and although a little quite their service was excellent as was our food. Will be visiting again...

Always a lovely experience. Good service and tasty food at generous portion sizes. The set menu for two is a great option. Reasonably priced.

Although the decor is a bit tired, the food is always delicious. Never had a bad meal there.

Busy over the weekend. Nice interesting restaurant. Genuine Chinese people, so the food should be authentic. Food, variable and not consistent.

Had supper with my Kung-fu group... Great company... Food was amazing... Great atmosphere & friendly staff... Definitely a "must try" if you looking for normal food but cooked differently.

The food was great as always but the service was horrendous. Our waitress was drunk and was a disaster. We waited forever for our food and drinks and she kept bringing us too little dishes and glasses. Tables of people walked out due to her behavior. Management didn't even apologize or try and sort it out. It was supposed to be an evening of celebration and it was ruined.

Always a pleasure to dine here. Sweet and sour ribs a favroute.

Went with Vince after hunters. Has been my favorite Chinese restaurant for years, we went there on my recommendation. The food was excellent as always, we had chop suey, chow mein, sweet and sour pork, egg Foo Yung and vegetable spring rolls. All the classics, and a bottle of kwv that added to my already mildly high state we didn't even finish the bottle. 4 out of 5.🥡🥠㊙️㊗️

Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Very reasonable prices and delicious Pork hot and sour soup. With deep fried dumplings.

Great food and service as always. Such a beautifully decorated restaurant. My favorite restaurant when eating out in a group as the set menu is really good.
