Review Bocadillos On First - Port Elizabeth

Good experience, but average service. Waiter came once with menu, had to find him for the order, brought the drinks and then food, and then had to find him for menu. The atmosphere was great and the day was lovely to sit near outside seating. Food was good and the treats were nice.

Very friendly service from our waiter Patrick, if I remembered correctly. There are different seating choices of tables inside the restaurant and relaxed couches with a table just to the left as one enters. The food was really delicious and the presentation matched the quality. The atmosphere was relaxed. From 11:30 Monday through Friday there is a different special per day which includes: pizza, chicken schnitzel, pasta, steak and burgers. I saw there are baby chairs available for those that might need them. Overall great experience.

I had the Avo on toast and it was delicious. My friend had the cinnamon and sugar pancakes and they were terrible. Very dry and the pancakes were way too thick. Other than that, we had a good time.

Better than my previous visit - chipped milk jugs and coffee cups 😡 Coffee price is unnecessary expensive. The staff make up for it on their friendly polite service. Even the car guard is friendly. Value for money. Like the new premises.

Food great, atmosphere a little garage-y. Seems they're renovating a bit outside. Let's hope it improves the atmosphere.

What an amazing find! We had the most filling and scrumptious breakfast and the the best Café Latte I've had in a while. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. Will definitely come back when in PE again

It looks inviting and trendy with yellow signage and matching yellow Vespa parked outside. We have passed it by a few times and now was our chance to give it a go. It was an in between sort of time, not lunch, tea or dinner so we went for the cheapest non cakey thing on the menu: the grilled cheese and tomato sandwich, R59. On ciabatta. It came with salad so we thought let's add a side portion of chips for R15 and that would be a decent shared dish and a good price. The side of chips, sadly, cancels out the default salad. This did cause us a mild feeling of loss after it was explained to us, but hey-ho, private business and stuff. The sandwich was well sized, tasty cheese and enough of it, ripe and sweet tomato. Bread was high quality, chips were like deep fried potato wedges with skins on. Good portion, well cooked and served hot. There was a good trade of take aways going down whilst we relaxed and munched. It looks like a nice place to visit for a pizza or pasta and wine on an evening.

Went there on a Friday evening, it was busy and because it's a very small place there was no seating, it took about 5min of us waiting at the door before we were greeted. The waitor was well inform to let us know another table was paying the bill and we could be seated there. The service was speedy there after, wine and food came, we had a good time, the pollo pasta was incredible with an almost gradual flavour the more I ate. I will be back.

A selection of cakes and desserts. Pizza is a little burned but luckily my guests enjoyed it. However I didn't like in particular that plates were taken back too soon as if the were rushing us. Overall good vibe.

Definitely one of the best cafes in Port Elizabeth. Especially the "original" Bocadillos on 6th. Their service and cuisine is quite unmatched.

I do really love going to Bocadillos. My friends and I used to go there for our Sunday brunch when we were in Port Elizabeth. One of our favorite places. Great food. Great bread. Very nice atmosphere and upscale place. Really recommended

Friendly staff and great food , I loved the fruity breakfast.

I made a reservation for Friday, 1st December 2017 - time 6:30 for 7pm. Table for 20/25 people for our Parish Council Dinner (St Michael's Anglican Church). I personally arrived a bit late (7:20) because I had to collect my husband at work at 7. When we arrived, nobody had ordered anything yet, not even drinks. The waitress was busy taking orders...taking everything in one go...drinks, starters, main course. We waited approximately 30/40 minutes for the drinks to arrive and then only half the table received their drinks. The other people waited another 15 minutes for their drinks to arrive. Then we waited for the food. Patrick came to the table and informed us that the "Lamb Shank" was not available and the 5 people who ordered it had to place new orders. The food started arriving after almost 90 minutes after placing the orders. One Sirloin steak was brought but it was supposed to be a Fillet Steak. This was then returned and the lady in question waited another 30 minutes. One of the guys who originally ordered the Shank, also waited for the substitute Pasta. The two people at our table only received their food when most of us had almost finished our meals. When the Fillet steak arrived it was rare, because they did not enquire how she wanted it done. She had to send it back to have it refired. 3 people who ordered Onion rings as side orders, received it when their meals were completely finished. They had to eat the Onion rings on its own. DESPITE the service lacking, all the people in our group enjoyed their food and said that it was delicious. I cannot say anything negative about the food, it was scrumptious. Please in future, asign more than one waitron to a large group of people. I could see that the waitress was under duress as she had other tables to cover as well. What a lovely and cosy family establishment. The waitress was very friendly. Food was outstanding with very reasonable prices. The parking area is big but very dark. I will recommend this place anytime.

Had calamari starter, pork belly and mash with roasted veg and deep fried Lindt chocolate balls. Delicious! Food good and atmosphere too. Definately recommend Bocadillos On First. �

As the winner of the wonderful R500 gift voucher I would like to thank Lauren for a wonderful dinner we were able to enjoy. As always the food was 5 star and the service as usual was the best. This will continue to be my most favorite eating place in PE. Once again a big thank you. Thank you Patrick.

We went in the evening although we sat outside they had put an out door heater. We had the Monday half price pizza. They were delicious although we sat in. We would have preferred to take away. The venue is set behind the the front shop facade. Felt very secure in the garden like atmosphere.

Went there on my wife's birthday.... ......great venue ......stunning food ......excellent food would recommend to all!
