Review C'est La Vie - Port Alfred

We were visiting from out of town and were made to feel right at home instantly. Lovely food and great service.

Superior lunch jam, bringing up youth memories Located in a peaceful neighbourhood in Port Alfred, you park your car in one of the gravel filled parking places. Stepping out of your car, feeling and hearing the little stones crushing underneath your feet makes it like you enter a French wine estate. Being in Cest la Vie is for me visiting my mothers kitchen. Where you know she is passionate about the food she makes, always adding that extra tip of love because she wants you to enjoy her dish like you did when you were a 12 year old. That, exactly thàt is was Cest la Vie is doing to me, every time again. For the past five months I had the luck to grab on to a little nostalgic memory. The open arms that always welcome you for any occasion; study sessions (WiFi during load shedding), early morning student breakfast with a play of chess, late hangover lunch and the start of a fantastic afternoon with friends, food & drinks. Even though it seems like Cest la Vie is taken over by youth, the brunch café is also occupied with all other age groups. My all time favourite will be the Mexican eggs, where Angela and her crew can make it as spicy as you want. Furthermore customers can really challenge the creativeness of the eye when you order a delicious cheese platter with lovely matching dips. If you feel really hungry, please try one of the burgers, that are extensively build with lovely fresh ingredients. Please take a look at all the photo’s to get an idea of this lovely charming place and understand what is did to me. Thanks a lot Cest la Vie

It is a cosy place to snuggle away from the cold. The wine is great, the assistant (owner) is very helpful and friendly. They have the most amazing, tangy Jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon with a cheese sauce
