Amazing setting and fantastic food!! Very friendly and helpful owner/chef! Good variety and good value for money. Give it a try for sure!!

The bistro is often quite but with good vibe for meet ups, there's private slots area, and their outdoor view is beautiful Lakeview.

Great food and very friendly staff. Restaurant is situated in town by the little lake off the main road. The venue is very peaceful and friendly. Prices are very reasonable and food is great quality. I would recommend this venue for sunday lunch.

What a lovely cosy Restaurant for any occasion. Breakfast lunch light meals. Clean and very well presented. Calm atmosphere. Had such a relaxed time there. Looking out over duckpond. In the heart of Port Alfred's CBD but still hidden away from all the cars and ppl. Friendly staff and really good food at affordable prices. Clean restrooms. Everything just perfect. Will definitely visit again soon. Thanks for great service!!

The location and view is amazing outside. I ordered the Smoked Trout "open sandwich" and was pleasantly surprised by the flavours. The lemon worked well with the overall flavour of the trout, not to mention a tasty hit of what I think was horse radish. The price however was not quite worth what I got and left me still hungry for the next meal. I'd like to see more options for fish. Certainly lots of options for meat eaters though.

What a brilliant restaurant amazing staff super friendly the view was great from the deck the food was super tasty and very well price if you in Port Alfred a definite must go to. 6 stars all the way

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and delicious excellent value for money food... Wednesday is Penny's Board Day including a glass of house wine, beer or fruit juice.. enough for 3 of us to nibble on and feel quite satisfied.

Lovely setting, fantastic service, however the food was rather over salted. I ordered the mussel soup which was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Otherwise good. Really enjoyed the strawberry milkshake

We really had a great experience - everything was top! (Esp. the chicken schnitzel). We watched large fish feeding at the waters edge with my small daughter - such a beautiful setting. Just some double ply in the ladies would be perfect lol 😉

The Boys @ Penny Farthing is amazing! I love the location and atmosphere. The menu is so diverse and they really cater to any guest with any type of diet- my favourite is the Chinese menu! Keep it up :D I would highly recommend

I've recently been to this lovely cafe and bistro, treated like a Queen. Special place, special management and staff. Thank you to the Penny Farthing for going above and beyond.

My friends and I visited for the first time a week ago. We had an incredible experience! Our waitress was energetic, and friendly, we loved her. The burgers we ate were big, juicy and super filling! We had incredible cocktails followed by delicious carrot cake and lemon meringue slices. The coffee shop itself so thoughtfully and beautifully furnished. We were obsessed with the bathroom- it wasn't a typical restaurant bathroom. Everything together made for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be visiting in the near future!!

The owner (a.k.a. Mommy, Mom, Mama, Mum) is a cuisine genius and coffee connoisseur. The atmosphere she and her staff create near the picturesque Duck Pond makes for a great place to catch up and refuel.

Bongo is the best waiter ever! Definitely one for the books. It is always a pleasure to have chats with him.

We had a light lunch on the duck pond, lovely ambience great peri peri chicken livers and cream scones. Decent cappuccinos

Service is severely lacking, I had to to find someone to take my order, in so doing they delivered incorrectly. I've been sitting with the menu for more than an hour and there is only one other table being served.

Fantastic service and delicious food. It was busy and we didn't have to wait long at all. The manager was very attentive and Bongo (our service attendant) is a Superstar!! Look after him! Thank u!

The penny farthing has a great vibe aided by a great music playlist and the best food in port Alfred. Fantastic.

I have never had such an amazing experience at a restaurant as this. This deserves more than a 5* . Very friendly staff and know their specials and menues very well. Nothing is too much or an effort. I must mention this waiters name, he is the best sales man with a smile. No one can resist. He is truly amazing and makes you want to come back. Well done BONGO. You are a 10* waiter. Please support them when you in port Alfred.

Love their coffee, food and biodegradeable/ compostable takeaway packaging. Well done . Also only provide paper straws.

We arrived with the holiday rush being over. After looking at the menu for 5min at the entrance we had to seat ourselves. 15min at the table no service at all. We got up and left. Gill(assuming the manageress as a owner would have a less sloppy appearance) could not be bothered if we rather left. She and her team has alot to fix if they going to make this business work.

Even on a quiet night (30 April, +- 5 tables), we waited 20 minutes for drinks and at least 45 minutes for food. Food was fairly nice and waitresses fairly friendly, but altogether a very average experience.

Delicious coffee and great food! Always nice to sit and look out over the water and enjoy a lovely meal amongst good company.

Seriously over priced!! Pancakes, juice and a tea was nearly over R80!!!
