Review Le Fournil En Route - Plettenberg Bay

Emile Theart
Le Fournil is definitely worth a visit. A huge double sided fireplace creates a warm and comfortable spot to enjoy exceptional coffee and scrumptious baked goods. There is also a great outdoor play area for the kids. They also offer a discount if you take your own mug and serve milkshakes with glass straws. A big plus for the environment.

Excellent cakes, pastries, bread, croissants, convenient location, sunny yard or shade inside! Fireplace inside. Recycling and no plastic! Wonderful place to eat and have some take away delights.

The bakery is located in a convenient location especially while traveling on the n4 eastwards. The coffee that they offer is from a Roastery in Cape Town called truth which in my opinion is the best coffee in South Africa. The only problem that I have with this restaurant is that the internal decor is very boring.

A really good just as we were looking for a light snack before heading back to Cape Town. Just had coffee and almond croissants and these were delicious. We only discovered then that the main shop and bakery were actually right in Plett on the main road. Google for details.

I love also the Fournil en Route on the N2, at Formosa Hotel coffee shop, restaurant, delicious brinjal/haloumi burger on the terrasse, bought some groceries and wood for the braai tonight, very nice garden. Divine almond croissants for breakfast tomorrow morning...Worth to visit, avoid the traffic in town and the hassle of finding a parking place!!!

Very busy coffee shop in Plett. Nice selection of coffee and cakes, as as well as a bakery. We had a great breakfast there. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

This place is one of my favourites if not the favourite. I always receive a warm smile and welcome, that allready tells you, your at the right place. The food is always good. I love how hearty it tast aswell. Personally the best cheescake in town. The vibe is chilled and cosy. 5starts indeed.

Dommage!

Love love love this place was there a year ago and it's a definite must go when in Plettenberg. The coffee the croissants the atmosphere and service is impeccable. I actually skipped the hotel buffets for their breakfast and lunch.

Best Cheesecake. Hidden away between the normal busy shops, gives you a relaxed feel and brake away.definitly something different. 4 stars just because when busy, service gets left behind just a little bit. Otherwize, top notch.

Don't ask for coffee when there is a power outage. Was served up coffee made in a bodum that looked like weak tea. Also had to pay for a coffee that I did not drink
Mike Kantey
