Review The Lookout Deck - Plettenberg Bay

Vicki Boyes
Such an amazing experience with top quality service and exceptional food and drinks. Perfectly located just above the beach, you have a stunning view of the ocean and we even spotted some whales doing their thing. Can definitely recommend the strawberry daiquiri mocktail and the chicken burger ๐Ÿ”

Great place if you are a seafood lover. The deck is overlooking the ocean and the outdoor seating has a great view. I saw a few whales playing around from far! The food is fresh and tasty, sumptuous portion. They have parking, with some security overlooking the cars, so itโ€™s super safe. Good selection of drinks too! A must dine place when you are in Plettenberg bay!

We thoroughly enjoyed the food, just unfortunate that the service was super slow. The food was taking quite a time to come out of the kitchen. We could notice that the other tables were getting restless. Some tables were waiting more than 2hours for their food! We ordered after them and got our food before them, when we left some still haven't gotten their food. I would also recommend that the waiters make sure that the right cutlery are provided when serving meals. This was also a problem with most tables. The poor manager was running around trying to keep te customers happy and communicating with the kitchen to be faster as the people were waiting. What was sad to see was the young waiters were having a nice chat behind the bar for quite a while. They did not clean the tables nor attended to the customers. The manager should have told them straight, because when new customers came in they did not want to sit at the dirty tables and then had to wait a while for the waiters to clean the table. You have a great location and Devine food. Unfortunately the manager and waiters still need loads of training. If not you will lose business.

Magnificent location and interesting (but pricey) menu. The service was as great as the food. It was well worth the stop.

This is a must visit for anyone wanting a beach type lunch. The restaurant is right on the beach front and has amazing views. It was beautiful. Our food was very good and fairly priced. The service was also very good. The waitress often came to check on us. You're able to sit in the deck and eat while the kids play on the beach.

I had a quick bite and a beer at this establishment and was surprised as to the popularity of the place. A live performer singing and entertaining the patrons added to the pleasant experience. The food was very good and the beer was ice cold. I gave a 3 star rating for service only because the cutlery did not include a fork for me. This is, however, excusable as the place was very busy, and the friendly waiters were running up and down trying their best to keep the customers happy. I will be seeing this place again as the experience was enjoyable.

This place is specialized in seafood Beautiful view Delicious food Friendly stuff When they sow me using my hand removing the prawn shells, they bring me a bowl of water and lemon to wash my hand, that's was nice from the stuff Thank you guys

My wife and I came twice. Once for dinner which included live music and us getting to see the sea view turn to darkness whilst still enjoying the sound of the waves. The food was great as was the service. We came back the next day for an afternoon drink to enjoy the view again.

If you're looking for a place with the best view, good food and amazing service, then look no further. The view is the top highlight for me There is a wine list and cocktail menu. I opted for a delicious cocktail. It was well worth it and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. I then ordered a cheese burger and it was done so quickly! And it tasted fantastic too. Plenty of toppings and cheese. Looking forward to coming here again

A huge shout out to our waiter Andre who gave us a very special experience. He was totally in tune with our needs and went the extra mile to make us comfortable!!! Food was amazing and atmosphere Devine.

Wow, wow, wow! This is one of the best places to eat in Plett especially if you are looking for fresh seafood! We had an assortment of starters and mains and each dish was fresh and mouth-watering delicious! There are plenty of other options on the menu if you don't want seafood. The drinks menu is extensive. This unpretentious seaside pub and grill is vibrant and bustling boasting panoramic views of the breathtakingly beautiful Lookout Beach. If you can, get a seat outside on the deck and enjoy the scintillating scenery on offer. Awesome food, magnificent beach and mountain views and a fun ambience makes for a 5-star experience!

Honestly the best restaurant I've been to this year. The food is absolutely out this world. The calamari was absolutely delicious, best I've ever tasted, it was perfect. The fish, prawns and steak was so well cooked and presented. The portions was good, definitely worth the price. Stuff is so friendly and the drinks was amazing. No doubt about it, this restaurant is definitely a 5 star :)

Wow what an amazing place cant believe i have not discovered this place in all the years of coming here! The service was great and super friendly. The food was out of this world, definitely in the top three best calamari i have ever had! You will not be disappointed with the view and the experience! The food looked so delicious i forgot to take a picture just dove in and ate! PS. Went back again and remembered to take pictures of the food.

The owner of the B&B we are staying at recommended this establishment, so we thought it might be a bit overpriced, but it wasn't. My wife and I enjoyed our meal here. We really liked the decor and I wish I could have stayed longer to see what the place looks like at night. All the staff were very friendly and we'll definitely return when we visit Plettenberg Bay again.
Chantelley Scholtz
Staff very friendly all round unfortunately I never got our waiter name his short young guy with the top part of his hair dyed blond he was such an awsm waiter there was a bit of a glitch with my brother meal but the Manger sorted it out in no time I would really recommend this place to everyone beautiful view of the ocean while enjoying ur meal . It's our first time at this premises while on holiday in Plettenberg bay and the service was top notch ๐Ÿ‘Œ the food was delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹

Great views and delicious coffee. A fun place, with a cool, well-executed and -established theme. We went in the morning just for coffee. Our overall experience was enjoyable. However, the music was a little too loud for some of the people in our party. I get the fact that it's part of the experience, but it really would be a great place to chill out with a coffee in the morning time if this music was just a little gentler on the ear.

We walked in sad down. Was never greeted or served. Went to get our own menus and still Noone came to us. We walked out.

I ate seared tuna there last week and 15 min later my face was boiling up and bright red. I later broke out into a full body rash with gastro...SCOMBROID FOOD POISONING from unhygenic food storage and processing!

BUT... The very worst part was that there was no soap AT ALL in the ladies room!!!! We saw a kitchen worker exit the bathroom without obviously being able to wash her hands (๐Ÿ™ˆ) and we informed the manager who did sort it out.

The next day my husband went to the restaurant to complain about this ... The 2 managers were TOTALLY disinterested. They took his number and said someone would get back to him - heard nothing as yet!

These hygiene standards are absolutely unacceptable.
Alexia Doeg
We ordered the โ€œavoโ€ burger. No avo contradictory to the name. But a tiny squirt of guacamole. If it wasnโ€™t for the nice atmosphere I would have given a 1 star. Chicken and quinoa salad was below average. Would just come back for drinks as food is also overpriced and not worth it.

Yours sincerely
Foodie
Tash
Obviously New owner and cooks, and the food is gross! Stale dry oily and overcooked, ew! And way overpriced, our biggest waste of money on food ever
Bev Angus
the only thing the new owners have not spoiled is the sea views, been going to plett on tour for over 5 years and always made at least 3 visits to the lookout during our stay. However on saturday 9th nov, we found that the fish were not as good as usual and was aย smaller portion than usual and also lacking salad that we had previous year, a visit on the following tuesday found us with new menu,s and increased prices of approx 15%, suppose to rip of holiday visitors ?
We only found out about the change of ownership when we talked to a waitron who had been there a number of years but said this is last season with them. It is a shame when groups take over successful businesses and then let there bean counters cut corners. Fortunately we talked to some locals who gave us good recommendations for other establishments which we then used.
Dhanshree Bramdav
Highly disappointed with the food and service. Been to the one in Houtbay and you cannot even compare the two.

Got there last Thursday for lunch. Place was not busy but service was slow.
Ordered the prawns...they came over done and had no flavor. Sent it back to the kitchen and came back exactly the same.ย My son had the beef burger, and the patty was dry and tasteless.

Only positive feedback is the view.
Christiaan Du Plessis
Great place, beautiful views, amazing views and great beer. Good seafood and chilled vibes.
Francois De Beer
Very nice place to have a meal with family , will go back again and staff is very fast in service. Food was proper size and flavour very good
Amy Wardle
The place to go for a great reliable seafood meal. Constantly full but plenty of seating. The menu is diverse but seafood focused. The calamari salad is light and fresh but flavoursome. Their burgers are massive and decently priced and everyone orders the mussels!!
Natalie Lazaris
Bustling spot directly on the beach. Beautiful food and fresh seafood, what else could you ask for. Try the tempura prawns, just juicy and very tasty.
Megan Ceris Matthews
More expensive than the zomato menu indicated. Basically add r50 so was a bit annoyed but food was good and the location is wonderful. We had calamari and fish combos which were generous in size. The service was good.
Vignesh
I loved the place.. on the beach. We had a nice time here.. the food was good, staff friendly and always attending. You can take a nice walk after your dinner on the beach..
Carelize Jacobs
Just note that the menu on Zomato is outdated, food is quite expensive for the average South African (R120 for fish and chips). The view is nice, but presentation is not 5 star worthy. Friendly staff and nice wine menu, but again, expensive.
G
Beautiful view looking over the beach and sand. Wooden tables. Chips are good but best for a drink or chips in Dec service is SLOW. Friendly staff who are very busy.
Glynn Allen
Very nice place with outstanding views. Gets super busy so the service is pretty good considering. Pint of prawns is a win! Depending on when you arrive will determine how good your seat is.
Jarryd Doo
This place has an awesome view of lookout beach. It shines in its cocktail and seafood department, however it doesnt have enough waiters. I ordered a beef burger and got served calamari?? When I finally got my burger, it was cooked for about 3 hours even though I ordered medium rare. Mediocre service and neglection for small groups of people, this place is not worth going to unless you want drinks with all your mates. I had to ask a runner to come and serve us because we were being neglected (group of two). Not what it used to be :(
Amir Shneor
My girlfriend and I come here every time we visit Plett. The hake is always beautifully cooked!! Its got the best crispy batter and the fish is fresh and tastes so fresh and every bite is better than the last !! The chips are crispy and are in large quantity!! To top it !! Theres an unreal view of the beach.
This restaurant is a must when visiting plett!!!
Owen Tennant
Kind of expect good fish dishes at the coast and was not disappointed, visited an old favorite and we both had the hake calamari combo chips and salad , really delicious with a draft and / or glass of wine , staff friendly and efficient and geared for a full house , of course the view is for free ๐Ÿ˜‰
Raquel Unterslak
A lovely view of the ocean and very friendly service. Our meal arrived quickly despite the restaurant being quite busy. The food was very tasty the portion sizes were large.
Emma Divaris
What a beautiful location! Sitting on the deck, a forkful of seafood in one hand and a beer in the other - what a treat. I'd recommend having the seared tuna - it's full of flavour and absolutely delicious. The portions are very generous too. However, there is very little selection for vegetarians.
Jessica
Definitely my favourite restaurant in Plett. Such a beautiful location right next to the beach! Strong, delicious cocktails ( especially the jugs) and tasty food. The calamari is really great and the prawn and tuna gratine is to die for!
A real treat coming to this restaurant, and well worth the wait !
Lucy
Really loved Lookout Deck! Great food, good service and beautiful views. We were seated outside and could see Dolphins from the Deck! Great experience!!
Michelle
Food was fresh , and served hot . Toppings on burger was also fresh . They have a different wine list . Not really much to choose from . The place was clean . They cater for the meat eaters also .
Ian Blackburn
Location is magic. Unfortunate food and service not up to scratch. Calamari was very greasy/oily and could not eat it. Battered hake also very greasy. Waiter not friendly. Very unfortunate that the occasion was spoilt. Paying top dollar for mediocre food . Will be awhile before we go back.
Warren Holmes
Good food, great views, will definitely be back . Could do with a kiddies menu. We had the blue cheese salad and Madagascar chicken , kids had the hake, was very good.
Jaryd Kay
The view here is amazing. I would recommend it just for that reason. The breakfast was well priced and you get a free coffee, juice and fruit salad with certain breakfast items. It's a must go and an awesome place to have drinks as well. You can even go for a walk on the beach after.
Melissa Sanderson
When it's winter in Plett and you've driven around looking for somewhere vibey to watch the rugby, this is where you should land up. There's a lovely atmosphere as people come in from the cold.
Service was superbly provided by the very helpful Micky and the food is excellent. Two of us shared the hake and calamari combo and we struggled to finish it. It's beautifully prepared and delicious.
I'm pretty sure we'll find time to return during our week in Plett.
Sasa Sinclair Nhlapo
The food is really good. The service as well. We did wait a while for the food though. The place looks out onto the beach which is just an amazing view. The atmosphere is jovial. It's just a good vibe all together.
Megan Thomas
Slightly slow service, but tasty food and the perfect position. A combination you're willing to accept on a hot, sunny day with a delicious cocktail in hand.
Susan Searle
Location is amazing- menu is slightly generic that caters for masses. I shared the seared tuna salad - the tuna was cut too thin and over cooked- but not bad. we also shared the mussels (done with garlic and Parmesan)- mussels were small and over cooked. The main highlight were the massive oysters - totally delicious.
Vincent Knight
We visit regularly and the Lookout Deck is a favorite. Service and food remains good but unfortunately prices have risen substantially in the last six months. Today I would consider prices on a par with fine dining. Corkage has increased to R 70.00 a price we've never experienced before.
More geared toward non-Rand based patronage I'm afraid
Present menu prices are generally 40% higher than those displayed on this app.
ZedVee
This has got to be the Best fried fish and chips I've had in my life! Houtbay's outlets have nothing on this place! Stunning views of the ocean! Definitely a must during the day. We were lucky enough to see some dolphins prancing past while having lunch! The reason I rated this place a 4 was the prawns. The sauces the prawns are served with were average, needs work. Some of the prawns also had not been cleaned properly. Stick to the fish and you'll have an amazing experience.
Sheryll
This place has one of the best locations in Plett.
The name really says it all, right on top of the beach giving you a beautiful view morning noon and night.
The menu provides a huge array of seafood dishes as well as some other choices for those who aren't fans of the delights from the sea.
The lobster bisque is a personal favourite of mine, the touch of heat adds an extra dimension to the overall flavour.
Their calamari is also a winner too.
If you are a seafood fan definitely try it out
Ryan Goodman
Fantastic views towards Lookout Beach. Rustic beach bar restaurant, a Plett institution, complete with wooden long tables. Excellent fish: hake, kingklip bites, calamari all recommemded. Try the Halloumi Salad -massive slices of baked Halloumi . Brilliant.
Johan Van Dyk
Amazing view of the beach. Food and service were amazing. I ordered hake, calamari and chips combo. Calamari was deep fried to perfection. Good value for money! Definitely the best seafood restaurant in Plett.

Cheryl Gilfillan Dinkelmann
Very pleasant, stunning views and perfectly acceptable seafood to go with it. I particularly enjoyed the the cape Malay samosas. Will call again.
Russels
What a perfect setting. The french fries get a 11/10. Service is excellent and friendly. Good value for money too. Will come back next time I have the chance to be in the beautiful Garden Route

This establishment is situated in a most magnificent spot from a scenic point of view. Unfortunately neither the food nor the service is in keeping with the gorgeous location. We sat at a filthy table which was eventually cleaned about 20 minutes after our arrival. No menus were available and we were told that they would be brought over at a later stage. Waitress was atrocious. Got the order all wrong and failed to even apologize. Wine was warm. One order was for grilled fish. Fish fried in a batter was served. Burgers were ordered medium rare and arrived charred. Without doubt the worst burger I have ever been served. At no stage did any member of staff present to enquire as to our well being. It is utterly scandalous that this standard of food and service should be on offer. This is a place that I will give a wide berth to in future. If the review allowed for one to give it a zero I would do so. A score of 1 is indeed flattering. My advice would be to avoid this place at all costs. Rather take your own food to the neighboring beach.

Looks like a very popular place in Plettenberg bay. We had to q to get in. Situated right in the beach where I guess the name come from. Beautiful view good vibe and friendly and professional staff. I thought because they are so busy we will wait long. But al went well. Good portions of food. Some of the items a bit over priced.
Chelsea Natalie Le Roux
A lot of food, very quick and delicious and tasteful. Friendly staff. Wonderful views and a relaxed friendly vibe. Will definitely be heading back here!
We have been coming here for years! And it never disappoints! The lookout deck is a must visit, when in Plett! The setting and vibe is great! With the tables and seating area practically on the beach!! The drinks are cold, food good! And quality consistent! Will definitely be returning soon! Their hake and chips and calamari is a must try, as well as their Portuguese prawns! You won't leave disappointed.
Madeline Rowlands
I was so looking forward to visiting Lookout Deck but what a disappointment. We used to love going there for prawns when we stayed in plett on holiday. The prawns had absolutely no flavor and the mussels just terrible. Sauce tasted like dishwater. The only item really yummy was the home made bread. We will def not be going there again๐Ÿ‘Ž
Harsula Raga
Great place. Good service. Nice vibes. Food excellent. That coming from a vegetarian. Most places hardly have much on the menu for vegetarian but my vegan waitress made me feel special from frustrated. She made an extra effort n within seconds gave me few options. Thanks for a memorable Sunday Lunch.

This is one of the best family restaurants that I have been to in years! The seafood truly is delectable and guilt generous!

The porra piri piri needs work with its side sauce; it's more like a pomodoro style... The honey skewered prawns is well-balanced and not too heavily sweetened. The mayonnaise for the Kabeljou could be more refined. Also the Prawn Tail salad is fantastic! However, the avocado was poorly cut, and the mango was sparse (yet it is not the right season for it.)

Excellent job all-round and friendly helpful staff, especially with my 92yr old grandfather โค thank you!

Oh and prominent location on the ocean bed for summer time! Chilling in winter but it was a good night out luckily ๐Ÿ˜Š

Superb location, friendly service, fresh lovely food and a great atmosphere. Perfect spot when the weather is good and an ideal place to get your fresh seafood fix.
Mark Faesen
No bookings, first come first serve. Basic, not fancy but good food. Friendly waitress. Not high season so service prompt and food well prepared. Several beers on tap, and especially the prawn dishes very good value for money with 12 grilled prawns for R165. Daytime offers beautiful views over the lagoon.
Diella Taylor
I am giving this a 5 because honestly I can't think of anything that wasn't good! The service was good. Friendly waitrons and quick delivery. The setting was beautiful. The food was delicious. And the prices were very reasonable. I would seriously recommend this restaurant.
Katya Krat
Very slow service, despite a half empty restaurant. Very average food. The only nice thing is perhaps the cold beers, the beach view and wifi. Not too impressive. ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’

After a frustrating cullinary day in Knysna we decided to have a light supper at Lookout Deck. We were quickly seated despite the rain (which reduces seating capacity by close to 50%). Whether it was coincidence or provenance we sat at exactly the same table we did 2 years ago when here. On the menu was oysters, lobster bisque and seared tuna salad accompanied by a light Boschendal Le Bouquet (as well as our traditional tequila gold). I can with gladness say that it was the best dining experience of the day. The oysters were well priced, fresh and creamy with all the condiments and a fresh health bread to accompany it. My seared tuna salad was great - perfectly seared medium rare with beautiful pink inside indicating good quality tuna. The bisque was a good texture and prepared in the traditional style with only one criticism on the food resulting in a lower rating than I would have originally given: there was too much tarragon and lemon in the bisque which overpowered the flavour palate. The staff was friendly and engaging and they made an effort to personally engage when we had questions on the menu. All in all a fun evening and I will definitely pop in for the seafood platter before the end of my holiday!

A must to visit for calamari and chips in plett.. Be prepared for a long wait for food & to even be seated. The food toke a hour & when it came it was delicious. The view is incredible & the staff is very friendly.
Nicky
If there is one place that takes advantage of the prices because they have a good setting- this would be it.
The variety is not enticing and the prices are just silly for what you get.
Vibe is cool and so is the view.
Service could be better, a lot better (but we knew what we were walking into Lookout as it is known for service not being.. That great)
I do think everyone should try it (have a cocktail on the deck) but it's not somewhere I will be rushing back to.
Daniel Wiggill
A moto I've sort of lived by is never return to childhood memories as it often disappoints. That's definitely not true with lookout deck. Even though it was crazy busy ( mid December rush) we still had a great night. Attentive staff made sure we understood that before ordering that the food could take up to an hour. The bar side was quick so no Issues there.
Best is the childhood memorie was maintained awesome mussel pot was flavoured with just enough garlic and wine but not so much that one would worry about having to sleep on the couch.
To all the food snobs trying to get to the down stairs resturant turn around and take the right fork in the path to traditional brilliantly prepared beach seafood
Irishman
This use to be one of my favourite restaurants in the garden route. The setting is beautiful looking right onto Lookout beach. I however found my last visit during season to be very disappointing and over priced for an oily meal that I probably could have got from Snookies. They also had no oysters. The service is friendly.
Mieke
We came here for lunch a few weeks ago and I am still thinking about the great experience. My partner ordered an entire plate of prawns, done to perfection, and I had a (massive) chicken shnitzel. We each had two amazing cocktails. Lunch came up to about R500, but it was worth every cent. They were extremely busy but we were still served in a timely fashion. One lunch i will NEVER forget.
Nic Hern
The Lookout was extremely busy which resulted in the food taking around 45 minutes to be served - but it was definitely worth the wait! The food was wonderful, the waiters were extremely polite and the view is nothing less the spectacular ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป A good experience all round ๐Ÿ˜Š
Cait McWilliams
Most recent visit left us very satisfied. We arrived and they were pumping, but the wait for a table was not too long. Service was weirdly fast for how hectic it seemed! I always enjoy their Screaming Orgasm on the Deck cocktail, which is also just such a giggle to order. Although a seafood restaurant, I do not eat seafood and am always beyond pleased to find good landlubber choices that are just as yum. We both ordered their lasagna which is very delicious. Portion is very generous and once again I was able to enjoy it for lunch the next day too. Good night and wonderful place to go for drinks or supper after a walk on the beach. Will always come back.

I was most impressed to see that Lookout Deck has re-opened (both physically and on Zomato) after their outside deck collapsing last year and injuring people in Plett.ย Lookout Deck (not to be confused with THE Lookout Deck in Hout Bay) focus' on fresh, simple food with an emphasis on value-for-money.ย

This seaside pub ticks all the boxes:ย
Good seafood - check
Good prices - check
Excellent, friendly, knowledgable service - check
Great location - check
Great views - check

I love the relaxed, beach holiday vibe. During my trips to Plett, I have spent many a day and evening here for meals and drinks enjoying the view (and am looking forward to another trip this December). Another thing which really surprises me in seaside towns: the service/staff are faultless! Jason and his team are friendly, on-the-ball and I have never actually had bad service here in all my visits to Lookout Deck.. It is incredible!ย

I am a firm fan of their Marinated Tuna Loin (seared in olive oil and lemon) which is served with a tomato, cucumber, and chilli salsa & the legendary Pint 'O Prawns (flavoured fried prawns served in 'the mug' with a garlic mayo dipping sauce). I also LOVE their seafood soup served with fresh crunchy rolls and butter on cold days - it is delicious!!ย

*Recommendation: Beware - over the festive season, arrive early to try to avoid disappointment as this place really fills up and you cannot pre-book a table!
Jonathan Ferreira
A hearty pub lunch on the deck - overlooking the beach? Yes, please! The burger is a feast and the tempura prawns are recommended! The milkshakes are totally worth it on a hot day.
Linel Visser
The food here was really out of this world!! I have never had a seafood platter taste as delicious the one I had here. Your food is absolutely amazing!
Zakithi Mayisela
Great scenery. Known for whale, dolphin and seal sightings but I was unfortunately unlucky. The food was great. I had lamb chops and fries. Delicious.
David Leibowitz
Enjoyable experience as always. Great seafood and meat. Ordered the seared tuna and a classic burger with cheese sauce. Good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Get there early to get a table at sunset in season!

Bit annoyed that a restaurant like Lookout Deck doesn't provide bottles of tomato sauce. Putting sachets and scissors at each table seems a bit tacky.
Greg Wilson
The view and setting is amazing but the food really wasn't great I had the med mussels was supposed to be baked mussels with a Parmesan crust. What arrived was a pan with some mussels drenched in oil about and inch deep!
Julia Pyle
The food was great ! The only thing that I was semi annoyed was that our food took longer than expected to arrive. The waitress asked us to order the starters and mains together so our food will come quickly but she only ask the kitchen to prepare our mains when she come to take away the plates from our starters! We were there with our kids age 1 & 7 for dinner, so both of them were so tired they were falling asleep while waiting for our mains! Be sure to tell them that they don't have to wait to send out the mains !
Gareth Bladon
You can't go to Plett and not visit The Deck. It's part and parcel of the Garden Route experience.

You'll find most locals (not all) frequenting the place for a casual easy bite and couple of pints. They have a decent range of seafood and it tastes good - as I'd expect of somewhere on the beach (last time I was there the crayfish tank was gone). The rest of the menu is pretty standard pub grub and meets expectations. There's a fair range of beers on tap too. Cocktails rank as average. Maybe less.

There's a huge difference between The Deck in a season and out of season. In season the locals are scarce as a younger (privileged) crowd usually on matric rage or uni hols take over. Expect a youthful, loud and up for fun crowd.

In season you'll queue at the door for what seems ages.

When they're busy service is a little slow but consistent. The waiters are hardcore enough.

The location on Lookout beach provides fantastic views and makes a visit worthwhile on its own.

I've got many great memories over more than 2 decades so I keep going back.

Stuninho
Food was nice, location was perfect. Good to see that they are rebuilding the lower deck. Good atmosphere and a solid recommendation to anyone visiting
ROBERT ELLIS
The setting is simply what puts this place at such a good rating. The food wasn't exceptionally good, but the service and atmosphere was great and it made for a very enjoyable afternoon drink and eat. Would happily return
Kirsty Donald
The Deck is such a great place in Plett. There is always a vibe going and the food is so yummy. It is also situated in one of the best spots, right on the beach. Come for an early dinner to watch the stunning scene from the deck as the sun sets. Their calamari is some of the best I have tasted and the combo (calamari and hake) is great value for money.
Rich Torlage
A trip to plett is not complete without a boozy lunch at the deck. Corkage wasn't bad at R40 a bottle. We shared a main mussel pot and was ample for 6 people. 'The Lookout' calamari basket is a must, and the peri peri prawns were delicious.
Ian Thomas
Great location, good food and good service. Highly recommend but if Plett is busy it's more than likely you're going to wait in the queue for a table.
Deon.dussing
One of the best views you can have in Plett. Service is good. Food is great. Go early and be prepared to wait for seating in peak times. Its a great casual, family friendly place.
