Loved it. Such a nice place. The food was really good. I liked how everything was freshly made.. Like freshly baked bread.. Amazing! I will recommend anybody to go there.
The food is excellent and extremely well priced. Would recommend to anyone! Bought rusks here as well- delicious! Had the chicken and mayo panini, the best I've had as far as I can remember. Nice atmosphere, very much local vibe. Worth the visit!
My husband loves cakes and desserts. We are in Plett for a week and Clares Cakes caught my eye. I walked and immediately loved the vibe. So, I bought the Best of Both cake slice and the Hazelnut Meringue. No, we didn't eat it right there. We took it back to our timeshare to enjoy later.
I really loved the Hazelnut Meringue. The meringue was perfect to offset the denseness of the cake. I loved the recurrent added. I would have again and share since it could run sweet. We had the Best of Both cake slice today. It's carrot cake and baked cheesecake combined. There were lovely walnuts and a strong flavor of cinnamon and carrot. I did find it much richer and couldn't finish my 1/2 a slice. I enjoyed it but was happy with the flavor

The cakes are simply devine!! Always good and always look and taste great! They have a stunning little deli!! With a great variety of gourmet, home made condiments and cheeses etc. I must say they are more of a take away place then sit down and eat if it comes to breakfast. It was a bit disappointing. Their prices are very reasonable though and coffee very good. Would certainly recommend their cheesecake.
Beautiful restaurant inside with a nice outside area too. The one problem is the waiters, who while amiable, are rather slow on the go.
The cakes look magnificent behind the display and I was lucky enough to taste the cheesecake - which is slightly too decadent for my taste but pretty good. Apparently the carrot cake is a major masterpiece.
There are numerous other quick grabs - cupcakes, scones, biscottis (sold single! so you can add it to your coffee or tea - the cranberry one is again a slight bit too sweet and chewy). There is also a salad buffet come lunchtime, which seems alright. And there is plenty in the fridges and freezers from homemade frozen croissants to banting muesli and cheeses and freshly pressed juices.
The coffee is excellent!! As is the health bread😍 which I had with a well poached egg and one of the best sautéed spinach 👌 the blueberry pancakes are pleasant, but it'd request more of their orange maple glaze 🍁

Most delicious milk tart I've ever tasted in face my family always order one to take back to Cape Town with us 😜 Also a lovely breakfast - and pricing is very reasonable! A great spot to sit in the sun, relax and enjoy a morning get together.
This is everything you expect from a cake and deli shop! Everything is decadent everywhere you turn and looks beautiful. The shop is always busy and has such a stunning vibe. Everywhere you turn there is yummy food ❤️

Clare's Cakes & Coffee Shop is really a very Special place. We have been frequenting this eatery for many years. The service is excellent, the cakes are always fresh and tastes delicious and their cappuccino's are just great!!
A friendly and warm atmosphere.
Today we treated ourselves with a piece of chocolate cake, brownie, carrot muffin and the obviously giant chocolate chip cookie. And all of them have been perfect in taste and consistency!
Also it was really nice that we are able to pick all the pieces ourself like on a buffet ;)
Ordered a cake from here for my Grans 80th birthday. Went for red valvet. The cake was delicious, moist and not too sweet. They also managed to create something that looked amazing. Really impressed
Beautiful coffee shop and restaurant. Open for breakfast and lunch. There is even a creative hub selling cake emporium goodies. Lots of delicious cakes, biscuits, snacks, coffee to take away after a meal. X
We attended the pizza 🍕 special on a Wednesday night only to be informed by the waiter no gluten free pizza. Hans the owner insisted on making me a gluten free mix in the kitchen. It was definitely worth the wait. The pizza 🍕 was brilliant and can highly recommend the new Claire's Cake and restaurant. Not to mention the cakes and cuppachino. Pop in and have a piece of Plett landman food stops, you will not be disappointed.
When you are 3 hours into a 9 hour drive and you realise the cake you baked for your son’s birthday is still in the fridge! Quick search for a cake maker on route and fingers crossed they can help. Clare’s Cakes came to the rescue. Not only did she have a carrot cake baked but she quickly iced it and personalised it for me. What a superstar. The cake was delicious. Thank you so much!

Clare is a master of Cakes and Deli! The Buffet is also wonderful. Sit and watch people passing by! Apple Cake , you can't have more apples in one cake! Carrot cake with icing - OMG!
We stopped by in the middle of the day and had Two lovely sandwiches for lunch. Afterwards we tried the hazelnut meringue cake, it was amazing!!!
