The english breakfast was really nice! The waiter was helpful and very friendly. Service was a bit slow on the day and the coffee was cold, but in their defense the place was packed and had two tables of 15+ plus people seated. Will definitely be back.

I had the eggs Benedict with bacon - eggs were perfect - it was so fulfilling and tasteful. The only complaint is the Hot Chocolate which lacked flavour, not chocolatey (not sure what I was drinking). Coffee here is good though.
Prices are affordable and economical.
Service here is quick and staff are welcoming/attentive :)

With friendly staff, the smell of freshly baked biscotti in the air and an array of items on the menu this place is a real winner! The perfect combination of a cafe and a restaurant! Sit in a quiet corner for some java or sit by the window for a better view over breakfast. The salmon rosti peaked my attention and the smells of goodness made my stomach rumble. Lovely and delicious!

Very pleasant spot. The views of Table Mountain give this place a real âthumbs upâ. Lovely setting with views right across Table Bay, Robben Island and "The Mountain".
The menu is nice and varied. Being a visitor to Cape Town I had to take the Battered Hake and chips, and was not disappointed. Really tasty, and good properly fried chips.

This picturesque setting was well rounded off with an amazing meal and spectacular service.
Iâm a firm believer if a place can make a good burger - itâs a place with visiting and man was I glad we came here tonight.
We had the pepper and mushroom burger as well as the Camembert burger.
The patties were cooked to specification and the toppings were generous and messy (as any good burger should be).
Will definitely be back to try the pizzas!
Came across this nice restaurant while using the Entertainer App. Scrumptious pizza and awesome beers to choose from. Pizzas were delicious and the place was busy but spacious. The view was amazing and the service was great! Will definitely be back to try more:)

Stumbled on this one by mistake. Pleasant surprise. The restaurant is ideally located to take full advantage of the view of Table Mountain. A birthday party at a nearby table adds to the ambiance which is noisy and friendly. The most friendly waitress was nice as well. A modern arrangement and a menu with many choices and all simple and elegant. Minimalistic fine dining to entice any foodie to the table. A glass of red blend and medium rare fillet with veg. Simple and supertasty. The tender and juicy fillet was perfectly done and it was good to get the down to earth meat in farmstyle elegance with a sprig of rosemary for that added herby aroma. Well worth a visit. I'll be back if I get the chance.
Food was amazing.. We had 2 main meals and 2 kiddie meals... Everything was fresh.. We visited this past Saturday.. Service was very good and place was cozy enough for or little family and will definitely visited again soon.
Nice place... Atmosphere was nice, not too loud or uncomfortably soft. We had pizza for supper, thought we would try something new and different as they have a wikideals variety of pizzas. We gave the Mexican and Portuguese pizza, was delicious, crispy base, lots of Pl toppings. Our waiter was extremely slow, might upset other people, and us as well if it was any other night. Also clothing our bill incorrect and had to wait long again before he came over with correct bill. Other than the slow service, it was a good dinning experience. Will go back.

Let me start off by saying, I enjoy a good salad. This place makes a daaaamn good salad!! Also had a steak in the past which was really great. Cocktails are also very nice but sometimes they have abit of a heavy hand so it makes it unpleasant to drink.

Next visit: Decided to visit Cafe Chameleon again yesterday (Saturday 8 July) for the pizza special. We ordered a peppadew, avo, bacon pizza. It was nice although a bit soggy, but that's just the nature of thin base I guess. Toppings were good. Service was very very slow, we waited very long for 1 pizza..luckily we weren't in a hurry. For dessert we had the Belgian choc ice cream with nougat & white choc sauce. The sauce is very sweet, so ask for it on the side. Ice cream very good

I've actually been here before, but it was absolute ages ago, so what a pleasant surprise when I followed the navigation and ended here. The ambiance is very nice with kind of a wine farm / wine cellar feel to it. The staff were very welcoming and my drinks order was taken right away. The views over the Plattekloof area is very nice if you are someone who enjoys watching cars go by and just seeing people go about their daily business. The place had a good buzz of clients, all happy and chatting away, with some businessmen working on their laptops.
The cappuccino is a very very good one...the foam is thick and dark, golden brown and the taste is strong and flavourful with a pleasant aftertaste. For mains I ordered the Chicken Stir Fry. The stir fry is a lot of food...very good value for money and very very flavourful! I enjoyed it thoroughly and it's one of the few times I have not needed to add salt or some sauce to something. The dish was perfect with a sweet sauce, plentiful noodles and lots of fresh green veggies. The dish is served very very hot and allows you to eat slowly and casually without it getting cold.

I went for a quick lunch at cafe chameleon today and had a somewhat pleasant experience. There's ample parking which is great but the lighting in the restaurant itself is a bit dim - even during the day.
Our lunch was served within about 20 minutes which is acceptable considering the restaurant was quite busy.
I ordered the grilled hake with chips. I was quite disappointed because the fish didn't taste 100% fresh, the portion was quite small and the chips tasted like they had been standing for a while.
My friend ordered the chicken chameleon burger with chips. The portion was large and she said she really enjoyed it.
Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Although my food wasn't great, I can see the potential this cafe has and I'll probably go back another time to try one of their pizzas from their extensive pizza menu.
I like the look and feel of this place. The menu is a bit pricey I wouldn't be prepared to pay those costs so close to home. But it's definitely a nice spot for business meetings which is what I was there for.

It is human rights day in SA... We love public holidays, they present a great way to catch up? What a better way to catch up than over brunch? The views are spectacular, I live in the Plattekloof area, I should know, but it is still just spectacular. You see table mountain in her spectacular, just eye catching and breathtaking views. You see the Atlantic ocean, the green point stadium, it is awesome. Our waiter DEAN was top class, I do not know the dude, but I can almost ascertain that he has found his calling, I have never experienced better service than him, okay I have... but my point is he made my day - effortlessly!!! I ordered an eggs benedict, with extra Avo, there was nothing wow there, I had better, way better but for the price, I guess it was okay. My friend ordered the three egg omelette and she liked it. The prices are not too bad either and the menu is varied. It is not a five star, fine dinning kind establishment but a casual eatery- for laid back every day kind of place not for special occasions. I will visit it again. I forgot to ask if they got WiFi....

Our waiter was jacked up an very knowledgeable, service was speedy and on point, he even brought both the regular and jalapeno Tabasco sauce to our table #howdidheknow #ilovechillisauce #winningTheir wood fired pizza oven added that unique flavour to our pizzas; we had the Italy {Chicken Mayo with Salami & Mushroom} and the Mexicana {Spiced mince with nacho chips, sour cream & guacamole topped with fresh coriander}.My daughter enjoyed the gourmet Oreo & Fudge milkshake, I sneaked a sip and yes, it was as delicious as it looked.Happy to say they range some craft beers on tap including a particular favourite of mine, the CBC Amber Weiss. I had wine. They serve delicious, hearty food that won't hurt your budget. On the menu you can expect items like breakfast, tapas, burgers, pizza only but to name a few. There is definitely something for everyone on the menu.
My chicken schnitzel was generous in size, crispy on the outside, yet juicy and cooked to perfection on the inside. Served with well-seasoned veggies, chips and a sauce of your choice.
The wood-fired Mexicana pizza was full of flavour topped with savoury mince, chilli, guacamole, nachos, sour cream and coriander.
A casual dining experience with no frills...great for chilling with family or friends.
My fiance and I tried Cafe Chameleon for the first time last night and we were pleasantly suprised by the overall experience. My burger was not too bad, nice portion of food with a load of toppings. My fiance's stir-fry though was amazing, 10 out of 10. However the thing that appealed to us the most was the level of service from the young man serving us, he went out of his way to provide great service. We'll cerainly be back!
Cafe chameleon has pretty much a choice of everything in the menu from grill to pasta to sushi.
There's definitely something for everyone.

We had takeaway pizza last night. Oh my word, it was absolutely divine. I can eat this pizzas daily. My friends suggested Café Chameleon - they were spot on about the awesomeness of the food.

With a lovely view of Cape Town and Table Mountain, this is a place where you could bring your mother-in-law and still have a pleasant night out.
These guys are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving up proper comfort food for any dis earning pallet.
There is 1 thing that puts me off is the full page list of instructions regarding Entertainer vouchers. Guys it makes you feel bit unwelcoming.
Nevertheless, the service is good, friendly but needs a bit of work.
We opted for the chicken schnitzel with wasn't out of a packet and make from scratch. Juicy chicken and creamy sauce. My Mexican pizza was pretty good, thou I needed to ask for chili when the meal arrived.
The froffies are cold, the wine is pretty good. All is all is go back...even with my mother in law.
Café Chameleon is a pleasure day or night. By day there is the beautiful view of Cape Town through the large windows, and by night this Café transforms into a romantic little candle lit restaurant. For a starter I tried the deep fried camembert with fig jam, and for a main I had the calamari steak which was cooked to perfection. I ordered it with chips which were decent enough, but I really liked how they cooked their veggies, which were hot but still crisp and full of flavour.
 The service needs work. Iâve visited this restaurant four times now in an attempt for them to redeem themselves, but each time I have been forced to draw a waitronâs attention by waving my hand. Instead of attending to the customers, the waitrons tend to congregate by the bar area and laugh and joke with each other. I stood among them staring at them for 30 seconds before they acknowledged my existence and showed me to my seat.
Service is good. Pizzas is one of the best in Cape Town. I will recommend a breakfast pizza any time of the day. Service is average but the food makes up for that
I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant in Plattekloof as I was expecting more of a pub vibe. It has a lovely interior and really good service. They are on the Entertainer, and notify customers inside the menu to let the waiter know l, incase you want a special which it won't be valid for, which is cool. Speaking of, they have a pizza special to load toppings of your choice for R79, not bad!
They have a good menu with a lot of choice, I opted for a Greek pizza which was yum - they use a proper wood fired oven. My bf had the Thai curry pasta, which he thoroughly enjoyed - they are generous with the prawns and chicken.

Went to Cafe Chameleon last Sunday for breakfast. Service was friendly but too attentive throughout the morning. The traditional breakfast was very South African, complete with boerewors, maize and livers. Lacked bacon. Coffee was good too.
Huge portions and a great selection on the menu.
Will definitely be back. The staff and friendly and helpful. They have a great view and are part of the Entertainer Book, so very good value for money.
Upon arrival to the time we left the service was wonderful. The waitron was bubbly and prompt. We were served with a smile and our drinks and food were brought quickly. The food is good and the ambiance is lovely. I would recommend them to my friends and family

Excellent all round. Friendly staff, great service, delicious food, and relaxing atmosphere. I live this spot for my favourite breakfast, their breakfast pizza. It is unrivaled! The only thing that spoils this lovely little spot is its view of a busy road, a hospital, and a college.
This was my first time dining at Cafe chameleon, but I'll certainly be back again. I tried the chicken schnitzel stack with biltong and camembert sauce and my friend had the sirloin with veg. The batter on the schnitzel was so light and crisp - a perfect pairing with the creamy sauce. The list of wines by the glass was quite limited, but all good choices.

We decided to celebrate my grans birthday here as the views are spectacular. We waited for about 10 minutes before the waiter realised we didnt have menus yet. Service was abit slow and we had to ask them if we may please order. Â The food was really great and tasty. The pasta alfredo is delicious and the sole is perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back.

Cafe Chameleon has become one of our local go-to lunch spots. I often visit it with my colleagues and definitely recommend it for a chilled and affordable meal. It is not too fancy or pretentious and the menu hosts a variety of options. I usually have a salad.. Not because it's a healthy option, but because their salads are always really good! I usually go for the beetroot and butternut salad, but this time around I thought I'd go for the chameleon salad- no actual chameleons ;). It was really filling and I couldn't finish my portion. My friends had the grilled calamari, a pizza, an Alfredo pasta and a slice of cake, which they all raved about. Their hazelnut latte is also something I have every time I visit Cafe Chameleon.
Some good advice that I wish I had known sooner: Saturday night you can get any large pizza with 3 toppings for R70.. A crazy bargain!
I love when a restuarant is so unassuming but then totally knocks the socks off you. Café Chameleon is such a nice cosy restuarant. We enjoyed the view of the city lights from Plattekloof and watching the airplanes fly into the airport. But most importantly, their pizzas are incredible! Really delicious! I most enjoyed the Mexicana which had savoury mince, nachos, guacamole and cream cheese as toppings. I don't know how any other pizza will ever compare. Coupled with a thin crispy base, their pizza is a sure winner!
Cafe Chameleon have always had good food on the menu! Last week we had the pizza which was fantastic. The centre and restaurant needs a revamp though.
What makes Café Chameleon a top choice is the view. We always try to book the table by the window that has a panoramic view over the peninsula and the glorious Table Mountain. After drinking it all in, you can start looking at the menu.
They have a wide variety of options to choose from moderate to slightly pricey. In general all the food are quite good and the portions are more than generous. I had the chicken schnitzel with cheese sauce and there was more than enough to go around.
The wide variety of desserts are also appealing (if you still have space left after the large meal).
All in all, very nice ambience, good lighting, friendly staff, decent food at good prices. Itâs a fail-safe option with a stunning view.
The northern suburbs is not known for loads of great restaurants, but Cafe chameleon is one of my favourites. The restaurant is on the Plattekloof hill, so book a window table and you have a view over Cape Town and Table Mountain! I have always enjoyed the food and experience here! The pizza is also great and they have very delicious gourmet sandwiches.
This restaurant has a warm and friendly family atmosphere, they deliver good food at reasonable prices with the service to match.

We utilise their boardroom on a Wednesday evening for business presentations. The service is great, coffee delicious. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Whether a work venue or private dining room the setting is perfect. Great views of Table Mountain. Their food is excellent đ

Had some breakfast with the family on Saturday morning...our first time there, and it was really enjoyable. It was quite noisy but that was due to the fact that they hosted two kitchen teas and an 80th birthday tea. Cappuccinos were ice cold unfortunately, and was just reheated instead of replaced, which most restaurants would redo rather than popping them in the microwave...for that reason I am not giving a full rating. The breakfast was good, nice portions on the omelettes and french toast. Nice view of Table Mountain if you sit at the right spot. Also has a âBoardroomâ separate which comes in handy when wanting to have a meeting outside your own offices. Very friendly staff, even though they were running around like crazy...enjoyable experience!
I have never had a bad meal here. I really enjoy the vibe and the food is really tasty. Combine these with the fact that Cafe Chameleon might just have the best view in the world (that's not much of an exageration, see images) then you have a winning product!

A good place to go for fast service and wood fired pizza with many unique combinations of toppings. Many other items on the menu are very good too including the well portioned burgers. They also serve ice cold beers on tap as well as classic and unique cocktails. There are excellent views of the mountain to complete the good dining experience. Best to make a reservation and enjoy the sun setting with a view of Table Mountain
The food is always great, the waiters are too busy and I have had to get up twice to ask for service. Just get one or two extra waiters.

....we decided on the spur of the moment to do some cake or desserts out and the first pl;ace that came to mind was Cafe Chameleon and yes they were about to accommodate us! To our surprise for a Thursday night this venue was buzzing, full to capacit-ii so it means that this place is very popular! We were made comfortable by our waitress Alexis who was very charming, polite and pleasant! We just came for cakes and cappuccinos and the cake selection was to die for, decadent chocolate cake, two kinds of baked cheese-cake, bar-one cheese-cake, carrot-cake with cheese-cake topping and a love-lii lemon mar-rang.......wow how difficult to make a choice! But we made our choices for now only to keep in mind that we will be back again soon in the future! This venue has amazing views at night the mountain in the south-west and the whole of Cape Town's lights shining beautiful-ii making for pleasant viewing and picturesque sights! The decor is stylish in its own way! They have seating inside and outside a pity its still winter here in Cape Town as a balcony seat would have been quite romantic!.....This place is a must visit when in the area if you are able to be accommodated!......................Today: - 19th July 2020....We always love this venue and the great variety of nice treats available here. We sat outside on the balcony absorbing the sun behind the shutters with a gorgeous view and easy atmosphere. Service was efficient, staff were friendly, the snack be ordered was good. Nice chill out spot with friends or lunch and a chat with family. I will definitely go again.
