Incredible steakhouse that is well worth a visit. It can be a bit pricey but the food is worth it. It does seem to be a strange venue, hidden from direct access and overlooking the N2 but the service was great and food was well worth it. Easy access from the city lodge hotel. Wheelchair accessible although no disabled toilets available.

Very friendly and efficient service from the staff members assisting in my take away. Utensils and some condiments might be good for the extras like French fries. My double Nevada burger was perfect though. Thank you.
Warm and welcoming staff. The atmosphere is amazing! The dessert portions are much larger than your average place. Just too many apples in the apple crumble tart lol. Daryn is the best waiter!
Ok, I know I don't do the 5 stars thing very often, and when you see the photo of the meal you'll think I'm writing this review after a few brews, but honestly I'm only halfway through my first beer. Similarly the cliche'd butternut and spinach, I know, but it's the fillet steak that takes the dish over the wow threshold, its simply spectacular! The service and setting were also great, but this steak is devine! The angles should pop in here for a bite!
Edit: 21 Nov 2023 popped in there for dinner and had the fillet with sautéed mushrooms, wow! Still some of the best steak I've ever had!
A truly delightful experience from the time of booking on DinePlan, right up to the moment that we returned home. The restaurant manager personally called me to inform me that he re-seated our party of 9 at a better table so that we could view the Rugby World Cup final without hindrance. I was contacted a 2nd time to reconfirm our booking. On arrival, we were greeted in the most friendly manner, ushering us to our preset table. Throughout the evening, the service remained top-notch, and the food was freshly prepared and scrumptious. This gem of a restaurant made us feel welcomed, valued, and a part of the Cattle Baron family. I can highly recommend this restaurant without hesitation!
Food was delicious and the service
Enjoyed a delicious dinner with my teen son. He wolfed down his beef burger and gave it a very high score. My Calamari in garlic butter with spinach and cinnamon butternut was scrumptious. Shared ice cream and Bar One sauce for dessert. Friendly service and delish food. No corkage charge. We'll be back!
Apart from the loud music choice, everything was absolutely wonderful! We've never had a bad meal there, and our waitress was friendly, funny & on top of it!

The food has always been great during our visits. We gave the Cajun Chicken Kebab a try this visit and loved it. Great if you not super hungry.
Place is great and clean, food is amazing, fresh and never have regrets. Prices can be a bit extreme at times, especially when doing deliveries, but that is no fault of theirs.
A very elegant Cattle Baron hidden away in the Mowbray Golf Park. Welcome reception and a short wait considering the food.
Expect high quality fair and there's a full bar but don't drive if you drink. There's the City Lodge next door to sleep it off.
Bathrooms are clean and the venue provides decent wheelchair access.
Typical bill for two is around R500 (including drinks) and good luck if you think you'll have space for dessert after the healthy meal portions.
Great service. 600g medium rump is to die for. Tried a new beer, Liefmanns which was lovely. Fancy feel, large with a small smoking area. Thanks for an enjoyable night. Also on the entertainer.
Great steakhouse. If you enjoy meat, this is the place for you. Knowledgeable staff and awesome food. I ordered the T-bone steak which was very tasty.
Yes, Yes, Yes! And that garlic rump ohhhh so good!! Cattle Baron never disappoints 🤩 Service was tops and the drinks were amazing. Our waiter also kept checking on us so that was lovely.
