The only nugget in the whole of Pilgrims Rest. Great food and even better service
We took a drive to Pilgrims Rest and stopped for lunch at The Vines & Johnny's Pub. Wow absolutely the best ever Oxtail -on samp. And the Digger's Stew - beef stew on rice- excellent . Milkshakes, coffee, strawberry, lime - great. Toasted ham cheese & tomato. Toasted chicken & mayo. Great potato Chips. We sat on the stoep which has beautiful mountain views and watched the rain come pouring down the valley.
The Tea could improve - one tea bag but in a big tea pot does not work A truly delightful restaurant with wonderful warm hospitality. We loved the quietness and the antiquity.
We had drinks at Johnny's Pub and had such a good time.. memories made... small group of people only when we got there... also due to loadshedding the place closed earlier than normal.. when in Pilgrims I would recommend this pub.. people super friendly and made us feel extremely welcome..
The food was DELICIOUS. My husband had the lamb curry and I had the beef stew. It was hearty and felt like it was a family recipe. The owners and staff treated us so well. Best beef stew I ever ate!

After God's Window we decided to come to Pilgrims Rest. The Vine was fantastic.

Inside is beautiful.
Rest facilities all clean.

Best place to just relax and have a good time with friends. The owner of the pub made everything just so much more entertaining.
Food is the best.
Hearty food, and really tasty. There’s so much history in this little town and The Vine encapsulates it beautifully. Staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere in general is great - right down to the old-timey music! A must-see stop if you’re in this area.
Awesome and enjoyable place everyone was really friendly. We had an amazing time. We managed to enjoy the ambience of the place and the deco is classic but good.

Quaint little antique themed pub that fits in perfectly with the feel of Pilgrim's Rest. The food was superb and well priced. Certainly not gourmet, but has a home cooked local pub goodness to each meal. I loved it, and felt like I had stepped back in time.
Johnny, the owner, is a legend and still runs the pub from day to day. I think he may have been around for as long as the town has been. He is incredibly knowledgeable of the area and can provide you with "hidden and secret" spots that are off the radar but so worth putting in the effort to find.
Located in a small town hidden between moutains and valeys this spot is quite a find. Thought the roads winds and the drive was slow this wolf endured to get to this well recommended spot.
The setting is neat and open. The decor a lovely reflection of the period and history of this town.
The food quality and prices were quite fair and the meal was delicious. The only complaint I could have is the lack of vegetables with meals and proper coffee milkshake. But this wolf can live with that.
Cute place with an outside, inside area and bar. They made the own delicious tomato sauce. Allowed my doggos to sit with me. Monkeys in the trees staring at us

Is a definition of a good food and service! Is a must to stop and have a good meal , and don't forget to try "Apple Tart with cream" is one of the best desserts I had in my life!
