Great food and friendly staff. The bathroom could be renovated.

Came here quite early so I was the only customer. Was a bit short on time so had to order take away instead of dining in. Food and service is great. I appreciate the authentic style of the restaurant as opposed to the generic style of franchise shops. Keep up the good fight and curry!

A great restaurant offering a huge selection of delectable curries and sides. There is something to suit everyone. You can also choose various strengths. The portions are very generous and the prices are totally affordable. The restaurant is licensed. There is off street parking. I don't think the entrance is wheelchair accessible.

I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and soft ambiance. The food itself was delightful. The Butter Chicken was absolutely amazing! The wait staff were very friendly and timeous. All in all, I think it is a nice place for a private dinner with family.

The food was not the best Indian I've had. Presentation was great and the Naan was amazing. Some dishes lacked love. Service was friendly.

Visited on a quiet public holiday. Quick service and short wait. Cosy setting. Great tasting food - definitely the highlight. Ordered butter chicken and chicken biryani.

🇮🇳 Authentic feasting at Tandoor The Clay Oven: Mixed Pakora | Chicken Kadhal | Lamb Saag | Garlic & Butter Naan | Masala tee ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Don't miss it if you're in Maritzburg - your tummy won't be happy 😜

Yeah no I don't think Indian food gets better than this! You get what you pay for AND MORE. I wish I took better pictures lol. There is so many menu items to choose from, including vegetarian option. Their Naan as the that I've ever had. The curry and biryani also held their own. Almost feels like a 5 star rating is a disservice lol

Just had hands down THE best naan bread I have ever had and the Chicken Madras curry was tasty AF. Really impressed. The interior is homely and casual, but comfortable. Authentic and delicious , just wish I lived closer.

Completely unassuming restaurant with authentic & incredibly delicious Indian Food. If you’re in Pietermaritzburg, don’t go anywhere else. Expect it to be full of locals and enjoy the vibe. Not a long wait, and worth it.
