My go to restaurant at the Casino. Their meals are great, affordable and their portions are generous too. Kid friendly. Service is always good. Staff is always friendly. Their Chicken pizza is my fave. Love love it!
Asanda Mtolo

Great food but the service could be better. The 50% birthday voucher also only applies to a maximum of R500.

Definitely a home away from home now. The food is reasonably priced, fresh all the time and stellar service❤.

I really loved the food from this restaurant. The food on the menu is good and the atmosphere of the casino and horse race creates a mood I can not express in words. Their menu is small but every item is mouth watering. Just can't get enough

Generally A vibrant, cool place to have food and drinks, todays starter of crumbed mushrooms was dismal, steak was cold, the chicken fettuccine was very tasty but not sure if I like the idea of 2 large pieces of chicken as opposed to smaller pieces, the cocktails are awesome as are the waffles and ice cream, nice place to chill, you don't feel like you are being rushed to eat and leave.

Wow their food is great, with a nice atmosphere and the service was top notch. Would love to go there more often.

Amazing staff. Prices are very fair and competitive, especially if you have a Southern sun rewards card. The outside seating is amazing during the day and the overall experience is awesome. I highly recommend this for a date or catching up with friends.

Good food. Good service. Portions bit small. Had rib and wing combo. Ribs was good and the chicken wings was not bad. Milkshakes are divine.

The decor is lovely, the staff are very friendly. Our server, Edward, was very helpful although he was a little inconsistent with his service insofar as it was feast or famine - he was on hand all the time and then he disappeared for 20 minutes at a time (we were there for 3 hours for a birthday celebration). We called him out on this twice but it didn't help. In all fairness he was a very pleasant server with a great sense of humour.

I had a chicken burger. The breast was too charred and a little dry. The chips were nice but absolutely had to have tomato sauce as they were quite dry. Others had lamb curry, butter chicken, fish/calamari with chips and a beef burger. The people who had the lamb curry and butter chicken couldn't stop raving about it. The fish was neither here nor there.

We enquired about dessert and after being told that one slice of cake was R75 we opted for something at home.

When my cuppachino eventually arrived, I had forgotten that I ordered it as it took so long to get there, it was a really good coffee.

I wouldn't make a point of going back there but I also wouldn't refuse a second visit.

Thay have some good coffee here. There also some lovely cakes if you have a sweet tooth. The food is fine, nothing spectacular. Pricing and service are also fair.

I ordered chicken and my wife had a burger My chicken was very delicious and my wife enjoyed the burger, the chips was a bit dry but other then that we really enjoyed our dinner.

Being a durbanite myself, i was very pleased with the KZN inspired decor and menu, however what we ordered did not match the expextations I had. We decided to try the Gorimas butter chicken pizza and the Phoenix lamb curry pizza. I literally tried a slice of each and had to take a doggy bag. The use of whole spices in the pizza dramatically influence the taste and make it very confusing with too many pungent flavours. The butter chicken pizza had enormous pieces of chicken thrown on, so big that most had to be removed. The pizza itself was way too wet and could have done with a few more minutes in the oven.

The name suggest it is quite a 'swanky' place but when you enter it has more of an airport restaurant feel. Our waitress was extremely slow. I ordered an orange juice. It came in a very small glass for the price (R22) and it was so watered down it definitely was not orange in colour or taste. Basically the cheap stuff. I ordered a toasted cheese and tomato which by the time it got to me was cold and the cheese was not even melted. It had packet crisps as an accompaniment as well as some sort of salad which had like a dollop of mayo, not my idea of a salad dressing. I did not eat the crisps as frankly it does not belong on the plate nor did I have the salad because of all the mayo. I dont see this place as breakfast, lunch or dinner or even a quick sandwich to eat on the way.

A little coffee shop hidden in the casino. It a awesome place to do a catch up friends and family. Service is a bit slow so be prepared to wait a while. The coffee is great but the quantity is really small.

Had dinner on the night out for 2 special. Absolutely excellent. Amazing value for money, great ambiance and excellent service. Will recommend and return.

Great place to meet for a quick coffee! And the coffee is good. Love my cappuccino with cream! Caffeine addict!

The friendly service and spacious table setting is great.

It seems they have moved from the outside piazza, I don't know if the place was better before but my experience today was not a good one, service is painfully slow, 20min to bring bottles of still water??? Then almost an hour waiting for simple food to arrive(salad..burgers..chicken wings etc) I would've thought the food would be amazing after waiting so long but it was nothing I couldn't have made myself in a few minutes at home...won't be back

This is a lovely place, I had the cheese burger and my boyfriend had the lamb pizza, to say he was blown away is an understatement, he couldn't even finish it, it was that packed! My burger was really delicious, it was so tall I couldn't eat the bun! Chips were also thick and fluffy. Really friendly staff, will return! Love. Jambo.

Cute little establishment with good food and in the nice area of the piazza/open food court area. They had friendly staff but the food took long to expedite from the kitchen and the place gets packed quickly so first come, first serve.

The concept is great and staff seem very content and full of happy smiles.

Tried the lamb shank and chops. No complaints!

The bar staff was full of personality :)

We came here as it was one of the participating restaurants in Silverstar's night out for 2 promotion. They had a set three course menu. For starters we shared a fresh Greek salad.

For mains hubster chose the pizza which was packed with his favourite toppings: boerie, feta and avo!I had the spicy battered hake and chips which was a generous portion and very tasty!

The meal was rounded off with a lovely fruit salad and vanilla icecream. We also decided to stay a little longer and enjoyed a pot of loose leaf tea rose and vanilla tea - so good!

I loved the decor especially the gigantic abacus. The service is fantastic - Simon is a legend! :) Vigour & Verve has great cafe food and if I am ever back, would be keen to try out their other menu options.

Lovely restaurant at Silverstar casino, very nice vibe. The Decor is very stylish but still comfortable and its easy to relax here. Food was good, service took a little while., overall not a bad experience.

Poor service and cold food and horrible presentation as well as drinks also not up to standard and poor quality. Won't recommend it to anyone else.

We headed over to Silverstar Casino over the Easter weekend and decided to grab a quick coffee at Vigour and Verve. The first thing that caught my eye at this restaurant was the decor. I loved everything from the furniture to the abacuses that provide a really great dividing feature between the kitchen and the seating area.

I decided to order a café mocha to drink. This was delicious and had good flavour. We asked our waiter what cakes were available and she explained what the options were. Only two cakes were on display at the front and we asked if we could have a look at the others before ordering - the lady in the kitchen was rather rude to us when we asked to see the other other cakes which I felt was unnecessary as most people would (if possible) like to see what they are ordering. We decided to go with a slice of carrot cake to share. The cake was a Chateau Gâteaux cake which meant it was pretty good but I've definitely had better.

Only later did we find out that Vigour and Verve is a Tsogo Sun owned restaurant. The service was a slight let down but other than that, the restaurant is a great concept.

I have never waited for such a long time to be served. Firstly we waited 20 minutes before we actually ordered drinks. Another 20 minutes for the starter, which looked like it was just thrown together by a toddler, we waited another hour to be served our main. Needless to say, the main never actually arrived. I watched people walk in, sit down and eat, then leave!!!

That's when we decided to get up and leave.

Never will I ever set foot back in this restaurant.

Food great, but took waaayyy too long to serve! And not having a manager around on a Saturday night id just not on. I have a feeling they are understaffed. Probably will close in the next year...

Went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Service from our waiter was good and food and drinks arrived quickly. Ordered the butter chicken pizza as the restaurants specialty is butter chicken and we were utterly disappointed. The pizza had absolutely no flavour. We complained to the supervisor who had no people skills and care for customers. No compensation was made, we paid full price for an awful meal that we're taking home hopefully to hand it off to someone else. Very disappointed.

Great service from our waiter Collins. Best starter: boerie bites (photo attached). Had the butter chicken pizza and it was bland and tasteless. I had 1 piece and sent the rest back after speaking to the manager, I then still had to pay the R85 for the pizza. Manager handled the situation terribly. If it wasn't for the lamb and service from our waiter my rating would be 0.

Nice ambiance. Good place to chill. Decided to sit and have just a waffle. Was as hard as toast. The banana on it looked tired. Quite disappointing.

So to kick off our weekend we attended a comedy event at Silver star casino. . . Our group of friends who are all zamato addicts decided to try Vigour and Verve we had a prime located table really close to the kitchen. . . We got there and was greeted and drinks were served immediately then at around 7pm when everyone was prsent we ordered our mains which took 40 minutes to arrive and not completely 1 of our friends didn't have a plate in front of her I had a beef wrap and cold chips and my boyfriend had a lamb sandwich with cold chips my friend who was waiting for her food had a butter chicken curry that had way too much tumric powder and there was no gravy. . . So this prime spot we saw the chef acting like Gorden Ramsey taking off with his staff. . . There's a point when my friend had to make the chef aware of the fact that she didn't food we didn't have time for dessert so after the comedy we wanted to give this place a second chance so we went back and we waited to be attended to and the menus and tables were very sticky we had asked the management why weren't the tables cleaned and the menus wiped down she didn't have an answer for us. . . There are only 3 options of desert on the menu so we left and never to return again. . .

Vigour and Verve was a bit of a dissapointment.
The iced coffee and cocktails were pretty good however quite a few dishes on the menu were not available.
I was looking forward to the spinach and mushroom curry but had to settle for a veg burger instead.
I ordered without jelapeno mayo but this was not taken cognisance of and so I can not comment on the taste or the patty and overall burger because it was too spicy to fully gather other flavours.
I would however revisit and give the restaurant a second chance because our table was hasty and did put pressure on the waiter.

This was an experience of note. I have not had such an amazing fillet steak in some time. Thee food was just made to perfection (Veggies and Chips where just so well prepared) and so very well priced. Their portions could be slightly bigger, however it is very satisfactory. The only reason why its not 5/5 is because it took the some time to seat us (really need to work on this). However oh my this was divine. I cannot wait to go back.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is so chilled. If you sit outside you can listen to the music that silverstar casino plays. We were really in the mood for eggs benedict and we were surprised it was not on the menu. The manager quickly went to their partner restaurant to make sure they made our meal. So thank you Moniccah, your persistence and problem solving skills made me rate the restaurant really high.

On deciding to visit the spectacular recreation of King Tutankhamun's tomb and treasures at Silverstar casino I noticed a brand I have never recognized. This cafe 'come' restaurant is a new concept by Tsogo Sun which I believe started in the last year. There are currently a few branches around which I was not aware. It is designed as modern minimalist with a very cosy ambiance.

The menu is full of flavour and uniqueness through the taking of classics and giving them a twist. The kitchen is well run and even takes the time to make their own kettle fried crisps! The vegetarian sandwich I had here is probably one of the best I have had in a long time. The staff understand the menu well and are quite efficient.

Their homemade ice-cream is mouthwatering and just bursts with a range of flavours which include vanilla, beer, and mango name a few. I would suggest giving this place a try as it is a worth visiting with menu items that are not badly priced.

We went here for a Sunday brunch. Food was fine, but it did not make up for the terrible slow service. We had to wait 30 minutes before a waiter finally arrived for our drink orders. This after asking 3 times for someone to please help us! We saw about 3 other clients who got up and left before even placing their orders, many others complained. The restaurant is understaffed, I wont go again.

24 July 2016
After driving around Muldersdrift, we popped into Vigour & Verve for a hearty breakfast. Only to find out they don't serve breakfast any more. How sad.

A must visit is in order!!!!! At the front gates, we were asked for R10 entrance fee ... except if we maybe have a Montecasino card ... which we did. So we entered for free!

Walking to the water fountains on the square, it was about 10h30. Only a few places were open for business.

Vigour and Verve caught our eye. It was on the square, we had a seat overlooking the water and a cool breeze were rustling the leaves on the trees, the serviettes and menus on the table.

Breakfast - Sunday, 12 July 2015
Just after 9 its still very quiet in the restaurant and on the square, but the sun warmed us on the patio. Coffee came with a very crispy Crunchie cookie and later with a shortbread cookie. Yum. Hein ordered the omelette with everything on it, except ham. It looked great!

I ordered the savory waffle ... topped with a mound of fluffy scrambled eggs, covered with bacon, sprinkled with fried mushrooms and tomato bits. Smothered in grated cheddar cheese that's been melted. OH!! It is utterly sinful!!! The waffle was crispy and savory and the topping .....

Initially we only ordered some drinks. I ordered an Iced Coffee Mocha - which I hated. It was just tooo sweet (yeah, I know, I am a sweet tooth, so to admit something is too sweet ...) and I could taste the sugar grains. Hein had a black coffee. He sipped from my drink and we swapped. He loved the iced drink and i was happy with the black coffee.

Deciding to look at the lunch menu, we were really pleasantly surprised! The food were all described interestingly and the prices really good.

I ordered a starter of 'Boerie bites' - diagonally sliced cooked boerewors, served in an amazing fruity rich tomato relish with 2 squares of yummy deep-fried pap (maize). For R45, it was a nice portion and deeeeeeeeeeeelicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really really good!!!

Hein had the 'Famous Pulled Lamb Sarmie'. Your choice of bread - he ordered toasted rye, open sandwich. On 1 slice was the deliciously cooked pulled lamb, on the other was tzatziki. It was served with salad, homemade potato crisps, red onion marmalade and olives. For R75, it was also a generous portion.

The decor was lovely, chairs comfy and service good.

The food was just amazing!!!!! I will have to go back ... there's a Veggie Sarmie, as well as a Veggie Toast (veggies between 2 roti's) that has caught my eye.

For breakfast one can also order waffles with bacon and syrup. Hmmm.

There was some excitement when a wall tile fell off from next to the Kai Thai entrance - it could have seriously injured someone.

Watching the people was just a treat ...
