Review Rocomamas Scottsville - Pietermaritzburg

AMAZING, FLAVOURFUL, WONDERFUL. After my awful experience with Vigour & Verve I decided to try a trustworthy restaurant. Roccomamas Scottsville it was, we were seated within seconds of arrival and our waiter had introduced himself and offered us drinks and menus, we needed a few minutes to decide and he came back when we were ready, my boyfriend asked for a taste of the craft beer which they happily offered him without hassles and I had a death by chocolate freak shake, it costed R69, but damn, it was almost a meal on its own. It came beautifully presented with a heap of fresh cream, a baby chomp, lots of chocolate sauce, whispers(one of my faves) and the milkshake itself wasn't too thick but was definitely creamy and it had bits of Nutella inside!!! Knowing that was going to be quite filling we ordered 4 peri peri wings with ranch dressing as a starter and we both had the same burger which was a cheeseburger with a beef patty, red onions, sweet pickles, tomatoes, roco mayo and as an extra, nachos crumbs. The wings arrived within about 10 minutes, drenched in the peri peri marinade/sauce and you could see the flecks of chillies and the green herbs as well, it smelled so yummy we just dug in, it was really hot but so delicious at the same time, it was also hot temperature wise and crispy as well as very fresh. Our waiter frequently came to our table to see if we were happy with everything and if we needed anything else which is something I now appreciate alot. The manager also popped by a few times to speak to us and check up on us, which was awesome as he didn't have to. When our burgers came I could not stop salivating and it took alot of self control to stop myself from digging in so I could get a few decent snaps. The smell was so encapsulating, almost put me in a food like trance, haha. The cheese was beautifully melted, there were many pickles on my burger as well as onions and a slice of tomato which was perfect for me, just the right amount of roco Mayo and red onions all piled up into this delectable and well balanced treat. First bite in, it was heavenly, especially with my new found appreciation of an actual beef burger and not what I was served at the other place. You could clearly see the beef mince, taste the spices and it didn't taste super processed at all. It didn't taste like a curry or chutney, it tasted like a divine beef burger. I could only finish half of my burger as my milkshake was quite filling but when we wanted waffles I couldn't resist and give in. So a half serving of the classic waffle was ordered and the manager took our order and oversaw the preparation of it. Within 10ish minutes our waffle was here, it smelled so yummy, the syrup, the waffle, the ice cream, all so beautiful. It was crispy on the outside and soft and cooked on the inside, there wasn't too much or too little ice cream or syrup as well. This was an extremely amazing experience, as the manager was there I had to applaud him and his staff who took such great care of us and presented us with such amazing meals that were thoroughly cooked, well balanced and extremely delicious. I would definitely recommend Roccomamas to anyone looking for tasty and affordable food. Excellent work!

Wow, this place is really great. Fantastic craft beer, amazing burgers, HUGE chip portions (seriously, the medium is more than enough) and JENGA while you wait for your food!

Rocomamas has an amazing atmosphere for any occasion such as going on dates or hanging out with friends. The staff are all friendly amd welcoming.

It's really difficult to find vegan options at most restaurants, but I'm proud to note Rocca Mamas absolutely out did themselves on my burger!! It was absolutely delicious and I'm sure the picture even speaks for itself. It was our first time at this branch, for a friend's birthday, special shout out to Justin, Lerato, TK and the rest of the staff for being so awesome and accommodating! Will definitely be back! Thanks again 😃👌

Great place to eat with family and friends

How disappointing and frustrating! I booked a space in the mall to have a 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day knitathon. I was in constant communication with the mall well in advance, plus had arranged to have some tables and chairs supplied for us. How embarrassing to arrive on the morning to find nothing set out for us, and none of the security staff had been told about our function. Phone calls had to be made by security to management to get the keys for the storeroom, then I had to help carry a heavy table - this was an hour later than our arranged time to start. Sorry, I find this totally unacceptable. I would like to mention and thank the manager of the Bean Scene coffee shop who offered us two tables and set them up for us.

With the refurbishment the mall looks rather nice. Situated in a convenient area and I love food lovers, but then the road to get in when one from town is terrible with potholes and not enough parking is turnoff and bad customer experience. Some decent lounge and restaurants will be nice to complete good customer experience.

You get most of the things in one centre, its an one of a kind place to do your shopping without any disturbance. Keep up the good work

I love to shop there is nice clean and peaceful not cramped like all the other malls you get all your things in one place .

A vast improvement since the refurbishment. One or two things could be added or improved, as some have suggested. It's going in the right direction, so keep peddling. :-)

I Think that even with the new adjustments the mall is Horrible the tenants ALL think that they are better than the customers and i my family and a lot of the people i have spoken to will never go there again unless the attitude changes

Lovely place to be with high class people

A cinema, bowling alley and a decent pub would be great. One that appeals to a different crowd than the Bell.

One problem to little parking. Luv food lovers market opening 2morrow
