Had an amazing mothers' day breakfast at Lakeside. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Excellent service from owners and staff. Warm and friendly atmosphere on this cold Maritzburg day. On making a reservation the owner actually called me back when they missed my call, even though they were so busy. What incredible service!

Perfect place if you looking for something peaceful, the owner even gave out some bread too feed the ducks. Make sure to bring your appetite, the portions are generous To get there using taxis: Go to the New Rank and take a taxi to Midlands Mall (R12), get off at the Caltex Garage and go towards the Builders store the restaurant is next to the store.

First time I have been here and what a wonderful experience. The setting was really lovely, service very good and food excellent. What I really enjoyed was the menu had other than normal choices, such as lamb shanks and oxtail which is what our table ordered and it was cooked to perfection; so well done to the chef. Ample parking available as well. The only downside, if you can call it a downside, is a little traffic noise as the venue is not too far from the N3 highway, but this would not deter me from going back.

Brilliant food and location. A tranquil spot next to the lake. Watch the ducks laze on the lake with good food and an excellent coffee. Very diverse menu that suits all tastes with some decent vegetarian options.

I love lakeside,it's pretty,with ducks and geese on the pond,and you can just see liberty mall in the background,the restaurant is situated perfectly to take your mind off the fact that you in the middle of the city,what a wonderful place to sit and relax,and the staff are friendly,coffee is wonderful, definitely be coming back to Lakeside!

We were welcomed with a smile, from management and staff... The service was amazing, and management and staff went the extra mile as we were there for a special birthday 🎂 The drinks are very reasonable priced and really nice and beautifully presented. Right to the complementary cognac. All I can say is wow! The food is really amazing and really yummy can not have chosen a better venue for our special day 👌

Absolutely loved this cafe. Clean, and very relaxing. The tranquil lakeside view was another another bonus. But the highlight of my visit was the succulent ribs I had. They literally slid off the bone. My cocktail had a rather potent kick for a cocktail, but that's a story for another day. Would definitely recommend this spot.

I've been here two times. Absolutely stunning lake view. Amazing service. I accidentally spilled my smoothie and it was replaced for free 🙂. The lady serving me was soo kind and friendly. • Large portion meals • Affordable prices • Perfect for lunch time meetings • A secluded gem Try their chicken strip salad, you won't regret it 🥗.

Lakeside is a gem. Have gone there many times and have enjoyed all of them. The waiters are efficient and so friendly and make you enjoy your meal. Their food is also fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Ordered Sunday lunch, since Lakeside now offers hot meals for takeaway, baked goods, and cappuccinos. Really delicious and filling, and good value for money. The hot food was tightly sealed in, so it didn't spill or get cold by the time I got home. Pictured : Roast Lamb with veggies and mash; table with baked goods; and Butterscotch Chocolate Cake (light, moist, not too much butterscotch). The resident geese are also missing their regular human visitors.

Lovely Family Owned Restaurant. Beautiful Lakeside view. Owners very present on hand. Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and menu had many of our favorites on it. Well worth the visit
