Very cute and authentically West Coast shop and tea garden. Old school kettles, veldskoens, teas, biscuits and scrumptious cakes/breads. Rather pricey goods. Love the old school feel of the place. Pity about the locals outside, illegally selling crayfish. Don't be tempted to buy from them. Rather enjoy a nice cuppa in the tea garden. Shop and tea garden are manned by locals, better way to support the local community.

They have anything you may need. Nice selection of local wines, brownies are delicious. Worth a pop in you may be surprised.

Refreshingly old school. Fresh farm bread and jams from the area.

Very interesting store to visit. I would recommend stopping here for a quick visit.
Some prices are average and others are more inclined for visitors.
Great variety of snacks, beautiful leather bags and shoes, some beverages, great gift store.

Incredibly tasty food in this modest setting of a fishing village. Even in the event of a power failure, cooking continues at the same high quality. Less well known than sister restaurant Wolfgat but equally unsurpassed for lunch. Well done chef Adel Hughes and team!

Lots of variety and nostalgic goods. Nice coffee garden. Goods are a bit pricey. Competitive prices would get them 5 stars.

Amazing quality slow food. Well cooked and presented. The garden atmosphere makes you lose track of time.

best best best. they serve a 5-6 course menu and it is outstanding. i travel a lot and this can definitely compare to high-end restaurants worldwide. What i loved the most: the chilled atmosphere. shorts and sandals is perfectly fine. lunch is served in the herb garden! highly recommended

A quaint little restaurant and shop in Paternoster. It has a lovely outside area where you can be served your coffee and cake, which was all lovely. People serving us very friendly and efficient
The shop has kinds of farmstall type goods. Jams, rusks etc.

Cute little shop.

I walked out of the restaurant with mixed feelings.
The food is probably one of the best meal we have had on the west coast - it's light, fresh, and very original. There is one tasting menu, that combines fish and sea food with lots of local plants (succulents, flowers, mushrooms, seaweeds) which we really enjoyed.
That being said, we didn't have a good time as the chef takes things really seriously. We had kids and called before booking to make sure they could join. We clearly felt unwelcomed and felt everything we did was a problem, from the kids walking through the garden, standing instead of sitting next to our table, going to the bathroom on their own,... Outside of the kids, the chef requests absolute silence when she explains what the dishes are about and it feels like she treats her staff poorly.
Relax, your restaurant is lovely, no need to be so stressed out about everything.

The shop is a typical west coast deli/farm stall type. It is worth a look, but overpriced.
The restaurant, Oep ve Koep, is a unique experience of being catered for by a knowledgeable chef who shares the details of the food at your table prior to every meal. The food is a great culinary experience, especially due to the incorporation of local plants in the dishes.
The 5 course meal cost R600pp. Please note that the wine pairing is an additional R600pp. I consider that to be seriously overcharging.

Made a booking here not knowing that Kobus van der Merwe had already opened a new restaurant down the road. Nevertheless, I was not disappointed. There were intriguing combinations of ingredients and nostalgia in every bite! I'm still thinking about hake with piccalilli & soutslaai, and milk tart ice cream with flambeed fruit. The ladies preparing and serving the food were lovely too. I will definitely eat here again and highly recommend it to everyone. The farm shop is also well worth browsing around in.

This is without a doubt worth a Michelin star, if only they where not so establishment to award one to a southern african super chef!

I love eating. I love imagination. I love the idea that you can turn mundane things into exquisite bites. Oep ve Koep was recommended to me by a good friend and I was enchanted by every detail (pics on my page). Kobus took the time to explain the food and a little bit of the philosophy, which added to the complete experience. I have eaten in 1, 2 and 3 Michelin-starred restaurants and have seldom been this delighted. Haven't been to Noma, though and now don't feel I really need the additional mortgage that would require. Who ever thought of searing watermelon and chucking kelp over the top? Wow did it taste good. The next challenge: try to translate Kobus' recipes to local Oxfordshire ingredients ...
