Review Gaaitjie Restaurant - Paternoster

We were given a pristine spot, with excellent service, and amazing food. Please note that if you want changes or such, its a no. And the times are quite important. But this makes sense as they really prepare a special experience. PS: They do offer corkage ;)

Great fresh seafood dishes. Beer battered hake a little too flat. Dessert is not the best comparing to the delicious main course.

Sensational Yellow Tail special, self paired with the local Chenin Blanc… punctuated by welcoming service, spectacular view and location. Delicate flavours, perfectly cooked fish and hints of lemon through the accompanying vegetables. Enjoy!

Awesome ambiance and the food to match the experience. Could have "kuired" there the whole weekend. Thanks guys and girls for an memorable experience. Will definitely be back with our next visit.

Lovely beach front restaurant, not really a "cheap" bite to eat kinda of place, but everything was fabulous, lovely large mussles in creamy sauce , the carpenter line fish was buttery smooth and flavourful.

Outstanding food and the most delightful, picturesque setting right on the beach. We walked in off the beach not knowing anything about Die Gaaitjie, expecting just basic beach fare. Were we in for a surprise!! We had actually just 2 days ago eaten a very expensive, pretentious meal at a very upscale, gourmet restaurant in Cape Town. The vegetarian cauliflower dish I had at Die Gaaitjie was similar in concept— except a fraction of the price and SO much better! It was probably the most delicious meal I have ever eaten. My partner said the same about her chicken dish, which she said was out of this world. HIGHLY recommend!

Monk fish was exceptional. Hake and mussels were very very good! We had better service, but food, wine and great view make the restaurant a sure recommendation.

De Gaaitjie Restaurant A tucked away little gem! On....the.....beach at Paternoster! Watching the crayfish boats coming in... Shush! don't tell anybody! Brilliant place right on the beach and amazingly good food. A real winner. It was such a change from the traditional bistro style modern places. Mussels were brilliant, monk fish just special and my wife had the battered hake that i stole a piece and loved it

Best Restaurant in town, Amazing food & Service with an ocean view that will take your breathe away ! Highly recommend the Masala prawns :D :D

So lucky to have secured a table at this fine restaurant. Stunning sunset for our anniversary along with excellent service and sublime food. Really reasonably priced too. What a fabulous evening can’t recommend them enough.

We went to this restaurant which has a great location and the service was excellent. The food was great but served with very hot sauces without warning on the menu. The spicyness can compete with any Durban curry. I thought that it overpowered the food somewhat.

You've got to go to Gaaitjie Resturant it is such a beautiful little place tucked away in Patanoister the food is well presented & so tasty, staff very helpful, view Devine.

Price quality was very good. They accommodated us with some dishes beside the menu. Nice setting and very helpful staff. We will be back.

What a lovely surprise !!! Calamari starter to die for!!!! Probably has the best location out of all the restaurants - right on the beach 🏝!!!! Excellent service. A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Absolutely amazing!! Meldine our waitress was fantastic!! Great service, mouth watering food, the butternut cheese cake is a definite winner and the best seat in town to watch the sunset!!

Firstly the food was excellent, staff faultless and the view and typical Weskus huisie out of this world!! Loved ever minute there���

Food was pretty decent. Was a bit disappointed that they weren't able to make a simple cheese sauce to go with my daughter's chicken strips. Thought that was learnt on the first day of chef's school. Was a nice setting nonetheless.
