Great restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere very chilled as well the vibe is lovely , the food is delicious this is my second visit I’ve only tried the whole fish the octopus and the Hamus and pita bread I must say both times the food was amazing, we had to make a reservation as the restaurant can be packed, not surprising once you there you will understand why it’s a preference for choice. The staff is also attentive they respond with a smile at a wave , that’s definitely great customer service as they also welcome you from the entrance, good place to create life long memories. Definitely a 100/10

My absolute favourite restaurant in Joburg!! Everything is always good. I go there at least 3 times a month and I still can’t find anything to recommend for improvement. Great food. Exciting, tasty menu. Good vibes. Well done. Highly recommended.

I come here often with family... and we keep going back for a reason. We love it! Weather we are catching up with family from overseas or I'm on a date night with my wife, Koloknaki has really been consistent with great food, service and drinks. They have nice main meals but we have found that getting a bunch of their Tapas for the table was much nicer as you get to taste many of their delicious dishes.

Really good . Okay service. Waiter seemed too chilled/aloof for my liking. Food was very good and atmosphere was trendy. Service reminded me of being in Cape Town. Get profiled at the door and served accordingly. The food may be the thing the service hangs on.

Visiting Kolonaki Greek Kouzina in Parkhurst, Randburg, is like taking a mini-trip to Greece without leaving Johannesburg. The menu is a mix of modern and traditional Greek dishes, and each item we ordered had its own unique flavor. The tiger kataifi was a crispy delight, and the beetroot hummus was a refreshing change with its earthy taste. The hummus, tahini & lamb were rich and savory, while the grilled bifteiki was tender and well-seasoned. Now, onto the pork belly - it was cooked to perfection, tender with a nice crunch on the outside. The roasted cauliflower was a pleasant surprise, light yet flavorful, and the Greek salad was fresh, with each ingredient shining through. The service was exceptional. It was one of those places where the staff just knows when to come around. I barely reached for the water bottle when a waiter appeared, ready to pour it for me. It’s the small gestures like this that really elevate the dining experience. Kolonaki has a relaxed, friendly vibe which makes it a great spot for a casual dinner or a gathering with friends. The staff is attentive, the ambiance is comfortable, and the food is delicious. It’s a place where good food meets good service in a cozy, welcoming setting.

Everything was perfect. The vibe of the place, the service, the FOOD! The price is a bit high but the value is worth it. I ordered pita bread, humus, and octopus sti schara to start. The pita and guns you could tell were fresh and mild. Not too heavy which made for a great starter. Then the octopus was well cooked and the sauce and side vegetables (sweet sun dried tomatoes and garbanzo beans) made for a perfect second starter. For the main entree I had the astakamakoronada which is essentially spaghetti pasta marinated with a large, fresh crayfish. I paired it with the pinotage (a uniquely South African wine). So good! I highly highly highly recommend this spot if deciding between other restaurants in the area!

Beautiful space. Wonderful service. The food is great, made with great care. Even though some items are not to my taste, it is well made and high quality. Always great even for solo date

Stepping into Kolonaki is like being transported to Greece; the decor, the greenery, the ambiance—everything collectively evokes a sense of being far from Johannesburg. The warm and welcoming staff only enhance the overall experience. Then, the food arrives, and your taste buds rejoice in the explosion of delightful flavors. Personal favorites include the Kolonaki Feta, Halloumi with honey, and the unforgettable Prawn Kataifi. Everything I've tried there has been nothing short of extraordinary. They also offer a delightful selection of cocktails and desserts. It's the kind of restaurant suitable for any occasion, whether it's entertaining clients, dining with family, enjoying a romantic date, or simply hanging out with friends; all will be equally impressed.

Atmosphere was great and the service was very professional and timely. Our waiter was very friendly throughout the process and the food and drinks came in a timely manner. The food was packed with flavour! I’d personally suggest the beef short rib; amazing sweetness to it and extremely tender. The deep fried calamari was also managing and the tirosalata packed a punch! The heat was balanced by the yogurt base which was great. Overall, amazing experience!

Located in a residential area. Great vibe and aromas drifting towards you as you approach. Very attentive staff with a value for money offering. Food of a very high standard, served simply so that the quality ingredients and prep can speak for itself. Wothy of a visit.

It was a lovely experience, costs add up if you want to try a variety, the grilled octopus is a treat if you're into that 😉 friendly atmosphere, great service and all during covid restrictions and protocols - good going!

Upon entering this establishment you almost forget that you're in the hustle and bustle that is Johannesburg. We ordered the calamari to start with along with a grilled aubergine dip. The calamari is proper, definitely the best thing we ate and that says alot given that everything was brilliant. The dip and pita was awesome and you could almost experience the authenticity of Greece from this. We moved onto the pork belly open Yiro. Oh my word, the flavour punches you in the face. A definite must try.

This place never disappoints! Firstly, the interior makes you feel like you’ve stepped into Mykonos: white stone walls, reed roofing and panelling, pillows in cool hues and natural fabrics...You may be overwhelmed by the menu at first because you’ll want everything; hence, eating tapas-style is suggested so that you can try numerous items. Highlights include the Fava and tirosolata dips, fried zucchini chips and the grilled baby chicken. Their menu changes often too!

Outside of no answer as to make a booking (repeated attempts) it was a very pleasant experience. Luckily enough we got a table outside for a Saturday brunch. Staff were attentive, friendly with the manager also checking in as the brunch progressed. Ordering a mix of meze and one main meal was definitely the right call. The art of sharing and comparing dishes was a winner! Beautiful setting.

All food was delicious - dips were a favorite amongst my family members. The yiro was a chicken and halloumi one which personally I the best I’ve ever had... amazing flavors and incredibly juicy.

This is probably one of my fave restaurants in Jhb at the moment. I enjoyed the kataifa wrapped prawns and the ice cream for dessert. But my fave is the Tirosalata...charcoal grilled peppers, whipped feta, chilli...one of my favorite Greek sides 🤤

We were looking forward to trying this reataurant out for weeks, as we booked way in advance due to its popularity, but life happens and 2 of our friends cancelled, so we downsized to 2 ladies, we got taken through the Restaurant which reviewed beautiful settings and Atmosphere but to our disappointed, we got place right by the bathroom (around the corner) and the hand sanitary station was like right above my head😞

But we were still very excited to try out the food and to enjoy the evening out.

Our waiter was very friendly and helpful but however failed to deliver my allergy message and bought me something that i was allergic to, fortunately much to my suspecion i questioned about it before i ate it, and they quickly replaced it for us.

I thought the food was average, but fresh.
Presentation is good and appetizing.
I think maybe they try to preserve the natural flavouring of the seafood, but i did however think it tasted little bland.

We ordered:

A potato dip with side pita bread
— Halloumi —
fried in tempura batter, with lemon zest, honey syrup,
oregano and baby gherkins
-- Spanakopita —
spinach, leeks, dill, feta wrapped in a phyllo wheel and oven baked
— Grilled Octopus —
grilled octopus, lemon zest, squid ink tarama and dehydrated
mint
— Grilled Garlic Prawns —
served with hand cut chips 6

Dessert
— Grilled Strawberries —
grilled strawberries, masthiha consommé, meringue, Greek yoghurt, ice cream and mint

Overall
🌸Atmosphere: intimate and cosy
🌸food:average
🌸service:good except the fact that they failed to take note of my allergy.

.
I was disappointed with the general look of the food.
The presentation was average and the portion very small and expensive.
My wife ordered the moussaka and it was good and well prepared.
Not a bad restaurant but very expensive for what you get.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

The location.
The venue.
The service.
THE FOOD.
My God. Do I love the food.

I have been their twice and so far I have tasted:
* Pickled Baby Cucumbers ~ Magnificent accompaniment to everything else I ate.
* Marinated Feta ~ A dream come true. Creamy, salty, morish.
* Tiropitakia ~ Cheesy and crispy. Everything you want in a little triangle of heaven.
* Halloumi ~ A highlight of my dinners (both times). It was the honey syrup that made this dish truly perfect.
* Falafel Yiro ~ As a vegetarian I often find a falafel wrap/yiro/pita quite dry. However, this one was unlike anyone I had ever had. Very impressed.

Highly recommend this beautiful Gem! Next time I'll take photos.
