Super!!! Huge portions and very very tasty. Clever to have some1 directing cars looking for parking. Staff very friendly.

Family friendly, polite service, excellent homestyle cooked meals, kids friendly, value for money, opens 7 days a week, R160 Sunday lunch buffet was fantastic with a local touch! Definitely, must eat in when in Oudtshoorn. Will definitely be back!

We landed in Karoopot after the first two restaurants we walked into in Oudtshoorn weren’t what we were looking for. This one, however, was pitch perfect. The atmosphere was comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We were there in July, and it was too chilly to be out, but we enjoyed the interior. We could get both South African wine and beer on tap at good prices. We’d just finished the tour at Safari Ostrich Farm (recommended!), and since we’d never had ostrich, we got the braised ostrich fillet, remarkably similar to a good beef steak, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The meal came with onion rings, mashed potatoes, pumpkin and creamed spinach, and we topped it off with malva pudding. All in all, this restaurant struck all the right notes when we were getting a tab pecking and cranky. If we lived in Oudtshoorn, Karoopot would be in our regular restaurant meal rotation.

Lovely place for a quick lunch stop. Cocktails and milkshakes are yum! They are very kid-friendly, however the burgers for them are rather bland. Play area is sufficient for young children, but will not keep them entertained for very long. Super friendly staff / service received. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in town again.

The sushi is really good and well priced. Friendly waiters and prompt service. We haven't tried the rest of the menu yet, but we will definitely be back.

Karoopot Restaurant is where you'll find the true humility of the Karoo. Every meal seems homemade with love and care and the wait staff are very attentive. The seafood is immaculate - fresh, crispy and perfectly seasoned. The desserts are simple but scrumptious especially the delicious Lemon Meringue Cheesecake - That was to die for! There is a wide variety of interesting alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. However, getting a drink is quite a hassle. You have to order drinks at the bar, inside the restaurant. Later on, the waiters offered to bring drinks to the table but the initial ordering style still left many of the girls in our party slightly annoyed. However, the atmosphere is quiet and the view of the CP Nel museum will always make you feel at home. If you have a big appetite for food and comfort, make your way down to Karoopot. ✨️

Our selection of dishes were amazing. Waitress and manager immaculate on top of their game.

Family of six went for lunch all the way from the Eastern Cape and Gauteng and WOW, the food (and the strawberry milkshakes) were beyond great. Thank you for great food, drinks and service. We loved our time there

Karoopot Restaurant, the place has a colonial feel. It is like you have moved back in time. Their food is generous and nicely prepared and served by great staff. Great prices also

Good food, reasonably priced. We had the Karoo Sliders, venison, ostrich and beef. Friendly service.

Perhaps not fine dining but certainly good old fashioned good food!!! Had the ostrich burger, muscle pan and schnitzel. All well prepared and with fresh ingredients

Next visit was just as pleasant 3 years later Good variety on the menu.. pleasant atmosphere and small dog friendly. Had Ostrich steak which was well prepared a tasty. Sundays have a buffet lunch which seems popular with locals.

Dit was baie leka het sommer net chips geeet want net n halfuur ete naar dit was uit die boonste gestoeltes die lekkerste chips in die hele Oudtshoorn was aldaar dit was elke keer fantasties weldone

Sien my nooit weer was vroeer jare hier en was toe iets om na uit te sien, maar van die diens tot die kos was haaglik voorgereg en hoofgereg, het een hele bord kos terug gestuur. Spur sou 10 keer beter wees

What a delicious meal. We came last year and had to come back this year. Two people had sushi they simply enjoyed the meal. Two of us had steak yummy. One lady had oxtail she had to ask for bread to soak up the gravy. Our waitress Joy was fantastic.

Vir my is dit nou regte "comfort food". As ek plek gehad het, het ek iets van als op die menu getry. Die boontjie bredie was absoluut hemels. As julle net nie 7ure se ry was van my tuisdorp nie, dan het ek beslis tenminste een keer n week by julle geeet. Dankie vir julle flink diens, al was dit so besig, en die fantastiese kos.

Was daar vir ons Kersete, uiters teleurstellend gewees. Geen moeite gedoen met die tafels nie, geen kersatmosfeer nie, moes hoe lank wag vir die vleis, kos was goed maar vliee rondom kospotte het gepla. Te veel mense met die 3uur sitting gewees, sal nooit weer soontoe gaan vir 'n kersete nie.

Jy gaan na die karoopot toe vir die heerlike sondagbuffetete met soetpatats en koolbredie! Slaphakskeentjies en vars mossels! Dis mos hoe 'n sondagmiddagete moet proe.

I looked forward to visit this place after getting a referral. You will never see me again! Poor service and cold food. Resturants far superior to you charge the same as you but at least you get good food and service.

Shit shit shit ...fuck hair in my food and it's looks like pubic hair but got told by staff it's a mushroom hair????wtf go to Nostalie for great food...poor tourist get shit food and service

We waited 30 mins for our drinks and another 30 for our food. Waitresses didn't seem interested in serving. The bill was outrageous- R360 for a tramezzini (on special R35), 14 pc sushi and 3 cooldrinks. Probably won't go back.

Ons en die kids het heerlik hier geeet. Kos is voortreflik!! Veral die skaapnek en samp, ook die kerrie en die boontjiesop. Hahahaha. Als!!!

We come back everytime we visit our farm in Ruitersbos! Ice cold beers, beautifully grilled steaks and wonderful staff. Had a wonderful timee yesterday yet again :) thank you and see you soon again

Our 2nd year that we visit and still fantastic. We could not decide what to order. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. We ordered the bean soup and the pea soup for starters and shared. Same with the main course oxtail and greenbean stew. The meat fell off the bones with both dishes. We could not believe that we finished both portions! We will def be back next year.

Good Festival food 🍔🍣<br/><br/>We have been back to the Karoo Pot twice now and have had really decent meals. Both times I had sushi and it was extremely fresh and really well made, sushi in the Karoo yes I know but it was absolutely divine. 🙆 The service was good but a bit slow even though there were not that many people in the restaurant and there were a few key dishes that weren't available such as the lamb neck so for some it was a bit disappointing but overall it has been a good place to eat with nice food and a great atmosphere 🎉

On a road trip and all you want is good food then I suggest you definitely stop at this place hey. Service may be a bit slow but the food is definitely worth it.<br/><br/>We had the sushi for starters and then proceeded to the ribs with some chips for mains and wow was it so delicious and the sauce was just so nice. That with some whiskey just goes so well.<br/><br/>

Visited on 2nd December 2017. Food was good but service is not great. Ordered sushi as starters which did not arrive before mains arrived so we cancelled the sushi. Mains was good. We had ostrich stroganoff and ostrich chateauxbriand. Both were good. Waitress also brought a dirty glass to our table. It still had the left over orange juice sitting at the bottom from who ever had the glass before

Hmmmm. This place isn't bad. As far as places in a really small town it's not bad at all. It's a beautiful setting in summer though. And the food isn't bad either.

Baie lekker kos. Lekker atmosfeer. Net jammer die waiters kan nie vrae beantwoord oor die menu nie. Die een burger se vleis was wel effe vreemd.

Good friendly service, nice atmosphere food is really good, the liver and bacon breakfast was outstanding. Worthwhile! All 4 of us will be back.

Sushi in the Klein Karoo. Charming place and good prices. Nice wine selection but short on local wine. The Lois need attention to detail. Toilet rolls at the basin do not help when there is none in the cubicle.

Terrible service, had to seat and get menus ourselves, had to call a waiter after 20 minutes just to be served even though it was not busy at all.<br/>Terrible food, sushi wasn't fresh at all, there was snail shells in the "snails in creamy garlic sauce" and the bread was doughy.<br/>Would not recommend this place to anyone.
