It was such a lovely experience dining at Waenhuis. The owner, Aubrie, recently bought the restaurant. It was the best food we had in al long time. Would recommend the lamb burger and the stroganoff.
Lovely evening. We were greeted at the door with complimentary sherry and immediately felt at home. The service was relaxed and friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and the food incredible. We had the lamb chops, lamb neck and lamb burger. All were great but I particularly enjoyed the burger as it makes the list of the top few I’ve ever eaten. A wonderful way to end off the day in the beautiful town of Nieu-Bethesda. We will be back.
What a great experience. Exceptional food in an ambient garden setting with wonderful staff and owners. I would definitely recommend booking dinner here if you are planning a trip to Nieu-Bethesda.

I had a great experience here and there is a stylish touch that gives this restaurant an edge. The setting and decor is very authentic to the region but has a warm charm. The food and service was very good and overall I enjoyed the whole experience. This is a very good choice to enjoy dinner.
The decor and ambience of the restaurant is wonderful and the quality of the food is excellent. Make sure to get there early if there are a lot of visitors in town, by the time we arrived three of the four specials had been sold out! Nonetheless, our meal was excellent. Top star service too. We were there during load shedding but did not affect the running of the restaurant.
We spent a few days in Nieu-Bethesda and Die Waenhuis is one of our favorite restaurants in Nieu-Bethesda.
Aubrey is a excellent cook. And his staff so friendly.
We had several meals there, breakfast, coffee and cake, and dinner.
The slowcool lambsneck is absolutely devine!
The restaurant is cosy and romantic.
We stayed longer in Nieu Bethesda JUST to have ANOTHER meal at this lovely restaurant! The food is exquisite, the wait staff friendly and experienced, the setting magical. Because we aren't big eaters, we also appreciated that they let us share meals. We will never miss an opportunity to eat at Die Waenhuis!

Lamb chops were fantastic.
I ate here twice, the braised lamb neck and the bobotie.
Both were exceptional.
I would highly recommend.
